In April 1970, 11-year-old Terry Bowers eagerly joined his Boy Scout troop for an overnight camping trip at a Catholic church in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Terry had worked odd jobs to earn the money for the trip and was especially excited to sleep under the stars to earn a merit badge.

The next morning, the camp awoke to every parent's worst nightmare.

Terry was found stabbed to death inside his sleeping bag, partially unclothed, just yards from dozens of fellow scouts and adult leaders. Despite an extensive investigation, multiple confessions, decades of follow-up leads, and renewed public interest, no one has ever been charged with his murder.

More than 55 years later, investigators—and Terry's family—are still searching for answers in one of Pennsylvania's oldest unsolved child murders.
