Speaker 1BOTCH JOB SOCIETY to check out our YouTube channel. You can find the link on our website or you can go to youtubecom slash. Botchjobsociety Love it. I feel like we're on like QVC or like Home Shopping Network.
Speaker 2We have people calling in, next caller. We're down to 10 left here. There's only 10 left and we have 30 minutes or however long.
Speaker 3We've only got 30 minutes left here. We've got five of the everything bagels. Still five of the breakfast flavor.
Speaker 2They are selling like crazy and I cannot believe how fast these have been selling. I mean, look at this thing, this stuff is just so good you know, make sure you call this number and get yours now. You will not find an offer like this anywhere else, except for on bjs, and we have, uh, what is that, terry? In raleigh, north carolina? Uh, tell us about, uh, what you got today in the mail.
Speaker 3Yeah, I just received my, uh, my pack of everything bagel here. Oh, it's just so great. I'm really loving this. I can't wait to do another order. Actually can't wait till you guys restock here soon. This is the best thing I've ever bought.
Speaker 2Oh, that's great, terry. That's so good to hear.
Speaker 3This one here. Let me tell you what he's a failure.
Speaker 2Can you see how?
Challenge Intro
Speaker 1maybe it would have been a failure Back in the kitchen, where we belong, and what is that show?
Speaker 3Just kidding, I'm not a.
Speaker 1I can't remember what show it was, sorry, we just started and now I'm already. There was a cartoon. I can't remember what show it was, but one of the characters screams at started and now I'm already. There was a cartoon. I can't remember what show it was, but one of the characters screams at someone who says get back in the kitchen get back in the kitchen it's batman, the animated series.
Speaker 3Is that what it is? Okay, I'm gonna get back in the kitchen all right, we are back in the kitchen.
Speaker 1We're gonna do do some more terrible food. This one kind of, I feel like, fell right into our laps, because this is what's. I've been seeing this everywhere. People are talking about how terrible it is Drop a cup. I feel like this is a situation where they know exactly what they're doing.
Speaker 2You know what I mean. This isn't like a.
Speaker 3Nobody asked for this. That's a throwback.
Speaker 1Who asked for this? Nobody asked for it, but it's also. They know that it's not. They know people are only buying it to be like oh, it's so gross guys.
Speaker 3You know and like, Nobody's actually like. Oh, I'm so glad, Right yeah.
Speaker 1Because if you look at the other flavors, it's, or you know just normal.
Speaker 3Spicy things maybe Right, right but this.
Speaker 1So in case you're vastly unaware, we have a breakfast flavor which is a maple syrup, pancake sausage and egg ramen noodles in a sauce.
Speaker 3So this is your breakfast. Then we have everything bagel. What you see here is an Everything Bagel, and it has cream cheese artificial flavoring. You've been promoted. You have been promoted. These sound disgusting. I'm so excited to try them.
Speaker 1The plan is we are going to try each one together and then we will flip a coin or do rock paper scissors, whatever, and the winner will get to have their pick. The loser will have to have the other one, and then we each have five minutes to try and improve it. I will have lots of other ingredients for you to try and make this somewhat of a gourmet treat, and then we'll see who ends up winning. So before we do that, let's just do our roll call here.
Speaker 1Let people know where they can find us. Youtube, yep, instagram.
Speaker 3Reels, twitter, tiktok those are the big ones right there. And then, of course, our website, where you can get beautiful merch, like this Beautiful merch or this lemon shirt no, no, this is not on our merch, all right, it was worth a shot subscribe, follow us everywhere and buckle up, because we got some nasty ramen coming your way so what?
Breakfast Ramen
Speaker 1which one you want to start with? Okay, well, first of all, let's get the grossest out of the way. Okay, so you think this is going to be the worst?
Speaker 3one. Yeah, I think that one's got it, I agree.
Speaker 1I think this will be the worst one. So instructions say step one. Go for it. Remove lid, add room temperature water to the fill line, cook it in the microwave for four minutes, let it stand for one minute and slurp away.
Speaker 2It's going to be the name of my. This is for a special viewer.
Speaker 1It's going to be the name of my biography. Slurp away, all right.
Speaker 3Sorry, just you on the front.
Speaker 1So let's get a look here Where's my phone? All right, so here um the inside here pretty much what I was expecting um the the unfortunate. Give it a sniff. How's it smell?
Speaker 3that's on the front end. It does smell like maple, but then you get the whiff of ramen too.
Speaker 1It's the the savory part.
Speaker 3Yeah, you smell the sweet syrup part, and then the savory hits you.
Speaker 1Okay, I'm a little disappointed because I thought this was gonna be almost a sweet version, which I thought, okay, that might, might be okay, but no, it seems like it's gonna be more savory than anything else.
Speaker 3That might be a good thing. Maybe you can pour some syrup in it. We'll see. Please don't tell me you plan on pouring syrup in here.
Speaker 1No, Just letting it, just yeah, ugh, alright, ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one.
Speaker 2Happy New Year.
Speaker 3That's how I know we're both like in the dead, don't forget to let that stand for one minute now.
Speaker 1You don't want to hurt yourself? Well, this one's been standing for a minute already. So it just so. So it just. It just smells like noodle. Maybe I need to mix it up. Ooh, yeah, the steam Steam. It's steamed clams. I don't really smell anything.
Speaker 3No, I lost it I lost the essence of breakfast and Weird. By all means, you can go first.
Speaker 1Yours has been sitting for a minute. It's still really hot. No rush here we need to do this at the same time.
Speaker 3It's sad because ramen in itself always looks good. You know, like just we really get in here. If you ignore the label, this looks like it might be really good.
Speaker 1Yeah, If I were to just approach you. Yeah, just ramen, you know. And then I see that.
Speaker 2It looks really good, that looks really good, give me that All right.
Speaker 1I think I'm ready to try this, although I need to make sure I have a fork full of.
Speaker 3Oh the fixings.
Speaker 1Yeah, I need to get like a I don't know where my fixings are.
Speaker 2Oh, there we go.
Speaker 1Okay, I got some sausage and I got a little egg.
Speaker 3The bad thing is I had to go all the way to the bottom for it.
Speaker 1Now I'm nervous. I'm going to burn the heck out of myself.
Speaker 3I'm going to blow on it. I'm the biggest cry baby when it comes to like hot things.
Speaker 2I'm always terrified.
Speaker 3I'm going to burn the heck out of myself, because then you have to like, sit in discomfort for what feels like weeks and your tongue just feels like something ain't right here. I'm always like real skeptical.
Speaker 1Oh god, cheers, mate, cheers oh, it's terrible no it's the, it's the sweet and then the savory, and you're like this is not how, like, sweet and savory stuff is usually pretty good. This is not. This is no, not for ramen. I don't like the. It's the maple, yeah, and I didn't even really. It's actually very pronounced. I couldn't really. I'm going to get just a little bit of the egg, Just a tiny bit, I got the egg. I just want to try it on its own. That's fair, because it was. It tastes like nothing.
Speaker 2Well, it tastes like it's a little sponge.
Speaker 1It's the maple seasoning. It just covers the egg and that's all I taste. I don't even taste the egg.
Speaker 3The sausage just tastes like the little sausage that were on the frozen pizzas growing up.
Speaker 1Oh, okay, let me try that. Okay, yeah, sausage is fine.
Speaker 3I guess it's hard to screw that up, yeah.
Speaker 2I'm gonna get another.
Speaker 3Just to confirm I'll be honest here I'd eat this this is really good. It's, I'm not a fan. It's not bad enough that I'd just be like, oh my God, but it's not.
Speaker 1But I don't feel like finishing it. No, I'm not finishing this cup. This is my last bite and I'm only doing it because I love you guys and I want to quit my day job um. How's your breakfast, sweetie? Are you enjoying it?
Bagel Ramen
Speaker 3Let's get to the fan favorite here the everything bagel.
Speaker 1Okay, do you like everything? Bagels no.
Speaker 2You don't. No, I like them.
Speaker 1They're my favorite. When I worked at a certain coffee company and we had them in the store, that's what I would always get, because they're my favorite. I like all of the poppy seeds and the the stuff on the top. The seeds are too much for me they do get stuck in your teeth weird maybe I'm just kind of weird.
Speaker 3I'm a simple man. Okay, give me a plain, plain bagel. If not plain, I'm okay with raisin blueberry I love raisins, so you know that's where you lose me.
Speaker 1Blueberry Fine, but then it almost looks it's a weird like purple murder scene when you have blueberries in a bagel. So I don't it's more. It's tasty than it is like attractive looking.
Speaker 3A good cinnamon raisin bagel I'll do cinnamon.
Speaker 2That's the key to my heart.
Speaker 3All right, let's crack this thing open.
Speaker 1It exploded in my face. Um, we're gonna have to remove that line. I don't already enjoy seeing what's on top. This looks like sandy beaches or something I don't know. So the smell is actually fine.
Speaker 3it just looks kind of unattractive yeah, it looks like a litter box it does look like a litter box.
Speaker 1That is exactly what it is.
Speaker 3I can go compare, just like it. Oh, just give me one second here.
Speaker 1I know I do b-roll of the litter box, but put, put it in place for this, oh yeah, and be like nobody noticed a difference. Pretty much I'm guessing that this is going to be some kind of like milk powder for the cream, cheese For the cream cheese yeah. Which I'm not a big fan of, like milk powder. I usually just prefer milk yeah. But it depends on the brand. Some of them are more creamy than others, but cream cheese is a different flavor. All right, oh, so this one's a little more at least mine's a little more brothy.
Speaker 1I don't like the color of the broth. Yeah, it's a little milky, it's a little milky, so I'm not too jazzed about that. Ew, yeah, yeah, no, I don't. This one might be worse actually, although it kind of smells good, it does smell like bagels it has a more pleasant smell.
Speaker 1It might just also be all the seeds and stuff. It does smell very sesame, very poppy seed, uh-huh, hmm, it does smell very sesame, very poppy seed. It does. I am getting more savory bagel. It does smell like a bagel, very strongly actually. How do they do that?
Speaker 3You wonder, like how do you capture the essence of certain things?
Speaker 1It's like when they have, like barbecue pork flavored chips or something. How do you get the? Is it like drippings from like a? You know what I mean Like? How do you get that? Is it like drippings from like a? You know what I mean? How do you get these? Yeah?
Speaker 3I've always kind of wondered that, especially when they get to like the weird ones, because Lay's did something like this and they had some like really just oddball flavors, yeah.
Speaker 1You're like how? How did you make this a powder?
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1To sprinkle on these chips.
Speaker 3Well, even like sodas, like how, yeah, ready, let's do this. Alright, it's the cream.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's the cream cheese, but also it's just, it's too much. I'm swallowing too much seed. You know, hang on, I'm gonna do another and another Splattering on my face. What is wrong with me? I'm walking into him.
Speaker 2Oh my God, I just got lightheaded, can't help it.
Speaker 3No, this is not good. Like imagine cream cheese. Even if you like, you know if you love it or hate it. Cream cheese right, put some in a like a cup or a bowl. Maybe put a little water on top Microwave that bad boy A lot of water.
Speaker 1It's diluted.
Speaker 3Microwave, that bad boy, until it's just like straight up broth Joke on some of the scenes. There's so many in there, oh no, yeah, melt that cream cheese down with some water until it's like brothy and then just take a swig. It's not good as a liquid. They should pay us for this, don't you think this is great advertisement.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's free marketing for Nissin, which I guess they don't really need the free marketing.
Speaker 3I mean, if they were going to pay us, it probably wouldn't be a whole lot of money anyway. It's not like they're making a whole lot of money, Especially when we're crapping on it.
Speaker 1Yeah well, that's what you made it for.
Speaker 3You didn't make it for me to be like oh, that's really good.
Speaker 2It's still good guys, you should go out and buy them.
Speaker 3I tell you what, I tell you what, I tell you what this is the best ramen.
Speaker 1The next thing that we're going to try is trying to improve these. Now, the idea was that we would flip a coin, and so then it's a little bit more fair. But it seems like we both have a preference for which one we'd rather do. Yeah, so do you want to go through the formality of doing the coin toss or the rock-paper-scissors, or do you just want to be like?
Speaker 3we can hop straight into it. I'm just curious to know if I would have beat you in rock-paper-scissors.
Speaker 2Okay, watch me lose twice the thought is like oh, he's gonna think I'll go rock next and he'll go paper no, I won't, nope.
Speaker 3And you're like, oh, he's gonna switch, yeah well.
Challenge Ingredients
Speaker 1You would prefer breakfast? Yeah, okay, I'll go with everything bagel. So we're gonna clear this off and we'll be right back. So I went to the local grocery store and I got some things that I thought would work for each flavor.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1We're going to spend a couple seconds very briefly looking over these, thinking about what we're going to do, and then we're just going to get right into it.
Speaker 3If you've ever seen Chopped, it's basically what we have here. Chef, here's your ingredients. Figure it out.
Speaker 1I think I already have. I mean it's easier for me because I've been contemplating this for the last 24 hours but. I think I already have an idea of what I'm going to do.
Speaker 3But you know, See, on the other hand, I've thought of this for the last 24 hours and could not fathom how I could possibly improve anything.
Speaker 1Well, this you to get creative, and so the rules are we have five minutes to do what we need to to make this good. Once five minutes is up, you gotta, you gotta, put your stuff down. You do not have to use everything that was in here. It's not like you have to, like, cook this normally and then somehow, you know, if you want to take stuff out of here, you can. I mean as best as you can. It's a little hard, but so, yeah, you got a couple seconds in the middle and then what's in between?
Speaker 3okay, I figured mine out, okay, I think.
Chris 5-minute Challenge
Speaker 1So, for change of pace, I'm going to go first. I feel like you're always going first and I'm always trailing behind. So I'm going to go first, I'm going to set the precedent. There you go, and then you can sort of, because if I mess up, then you can see what I did wrong and then you know. So yeah, I mean I'm pretty much ready to go. I got a timer on the TV over there. So, Um, yeah, I mean I'm pretty much ready to go. I got a timer on the TV over there, so I'm going to hit start.
Speaker 1Okay, first thing I'm going to do is I need to cook the noodles, because that's going to take four minutes and unfortunately it's going to be like the last thing that is going on this tasty treat. Second thing I'm going to do is I'm going to have a bagel. Hopefully this fits in this toaster and then I end up slicing my finger on camera. Don't often say this, please fit. Ooh, that might be a little tough to get out. Okay, a little tough to get out, but okay. Second thing I'm going to do is I'm going to open this avocado.
Speaker 2It's an avocado. Thanks, thanks, thanks.
Speaker 3Free Thanks.
Speaker 1Free shavacadoo. That one was always inferior to me.
Speaker 2It was annoying.
Speaker 1Okay, oh, and a spoon.
Speaker 3Mm smell that toaster Tick tock, chef. 45 seconds on the clock Hardly, oh my gosh.
Speaker 1I'm already only at three and a half minutes.
Speaker 3Time flies when you're having fun.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, I only need that much. Okay, it's gonna be mushy, but that's fine. Put that to the side. Um tomato.
Speaker 2That's done.
Speaker 1Good, okay. Oh yeah, it's stuck. I'm gonna need something plastic to or something wood to get that out of there.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1I'm at two and a half minutes.
Speaker 3Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Speaker 2Perfect Okay.
Speaker 1And always use wood. Kids, don't use metal when it comes to a toaster. You will kill yourself. Okay, um, that's the goal, shh.
Speaker 2Not so explicit, family friendly here, all right.
Speaker 1I got some whipped cream cheese here.
Speaker 3Two minutes, chef. Thank you, I always wanted to be on Chopped.
Speaker 1Dream has come true in the most horrifying way yeah. Chaotic Right. All right, so sorry, I'm using my fingers, but you know. Some tomato and not a lot, just a little bit Okay. Yeah, this is really going to be Okay, yeah this is really gonna be um okay. Get some salmon. But yeah, five minutes is really not as long as I thought Well, get some salmon.
Speaker 3Ah one minute remaining.
Speaker 2Is this done yet?
Speaker 1Okay, 15 seconds. Okay, Just in time, I'm gonna use some. Oh, it's not even open.
Speaker 3Okay, oh, it's not even open. Thirty seconds remaining.
Speaker 1Oh god Okay.
Speaker 3Three, two. One Time is up. Please step back from your workstation.
Speaker 1Okay, this is pretty much what I had in mind. We'll get a close up here, so I basically have just a bagel with its normal toppings and then I put the ramen on top, so hopefully the rest of it will mask the horrifying ramen part, so this is my dish chef.
Speaker 2That looks really good, give me that, give me that, give me that.
Speaker 3You want. Some Want some of that Louie. Give me that. Give me that. Give me that you want.
Speaker 2some Want some of that Louie, Give me that.
Ramero 5-minute Challenge
Speaker 3All right, all right, chef, let's see what we got here. All right? So I got my breakfast noodles. I'm gonna storm through this. Don't forget my timer. I'm not gonna cheat you. Where's my remote? There's my remote. I'm not gonna cheat. I'm not going to cheat you. Where's my remote? There's my remote. I'm not going to cheat. I'm going to give it a second. Time is starting now? All right, so I'm going to go fill up my ramen. Okay, come on, try not to overfill. Give that four minutes there. Come on, we don't have time for this. Alright, so my ramen is going. So I got some green onion here. Gonna just snag one of these out chop it up a little bit.
Speaker 3You guys even eat green onion. Yes, not a big green onion guy, really. I mean, I don't mind it per se, I just can't really say that I eat it often.
Speaker 3Maybe it's in stuff like fried rice and things. Okay yeah, I don't mind it per se. I just can't really say that I eat it often. Maybe it's in stuff like fried rice and things. Okay yeah, I got my skillet here In case you're wondering. You know these are breakfast noodles, so I'm gonna scramble some eggs. I'm just throw a couple of them. Green onions in there. Not too many, we don't need too many, right. Just don't burn my house down.
Speaker 2Oh, I would never burn your house down Unless.
Speaker 3Get a little more of that green onion there. There we go. Okay, I got my green onion going Like it's doing anything. I'm gonna scramble some of my eggs In my mind. There's 45 seconds left. I'm already panicking. I'm not very good when it comes to oh, that egg is broken. Oh sorry, no, it's fine. You see what he did. He set me up Crack this egg. There we go. Oh, that's lovely, all right this doesn't count.
Speaker 1There we go, I did give you the advantage of preheating your skillet, though.
Speaker 3Yeah, alright, just get one little napkin there Got three minutes.
Speaker 1I'm running out of time.
Speaker 3Okay, what the hell? Alright, there we go. Put a little cheese in my eggs there. That's a satisfactory amount. A little bit of my eggs there, that's a satisfactory amount. A little bit of this almond milk there we go. A little salt, come on, there it is, that's a lot of salt, and a little bit of this good pepper there we go.
Speaker 1Two and a half minutes.
Speaker 3I'm whisking my egg. My green onion isn't all the way chopped, so there's that this probably shouldn't be close to heat. Huh, it's going to blow us all up. There we go.
Speaker 1Oh, that's going to be a little smoky.
Speaker 3Yeah, I didn't really see that one through, all right.
Speaker 1Let's cool things down a little bit.
Speaker 3Let's move that there.
Speaker 2Two minutes.
Speaker 3I forgot my freaking sausage Too late for that now. Yeah, it's not going to happen. Shoot, oh no, all right. See, I'm freaking out. Happen, shoot, oh no, all right. See, I'm freaking out here, it's all right.
Speaker 2I'm gonna burn this place down.
Speaker 3How can I forget my sausage, Chris?
Speaker 1It happens. I never forget about sausage, sorry, no, I have a minute, I can make this happen.
Speaker 3All sausage. Sorry, no, I have a minute I can make this happen. Alright, minute, damn sausages. That's all I need. Like two of those. Excuse me, just gonna interrupt that for a moment. Um, like another 30 seconds, I don't know. I gotta take that out. I just dropped something. All right, my eggs are ready. They're a little burnt. Skillet is really hot. Here's my eggs. Turn that off somehow, someway. This is done. That's still a little bit. Thirty seconds, what are?
Speaker 1we waiting on here? I think that's about it.
Speaker 3Where's my fork? I need another fork. So many forks are being used in the process of making this. Some of these good noodles on top. Oh, 15 seconds here. Put my noodles in there.
Speaker 3Nine eight seven five four, I don't even know if that's finished. Two, one, all right. Well, you know, mine's a little more complicated because I have so many more moving pieces. Yeah, if I cooked the sausage on the skillet it would have taken longer than the allotted time. And trying to put them in the microwave while the noodles are still going it's a lot. So, all right, this is what we got here. Come on, put them in the microwave while the noodles are still going.
Speaker 1It's a lot so, alright, this is what we got here.
Challenge Taste Test
Speaker 3Um well, bring it over, this looks terrible, okay. So got our noodles here, yeah. And then under you got a little scrambled slash fried egg action with some green onion and some cheese in it, just gonna mix that all around. It looks really good, alright, so we have our finished products here using our lovely ingredients.
Speaker 1More of a whirlwind than I thought. It gets real stressful. Five minutes.
Speaker 3Looking back, if we could have did like seven minutes, it might have helped a little bit.
Speaker 1Well, the original plan was ten, but then I'm like, oh, that's too much.
Speaker 310's a lot. How about 5?
Speaker 1It turned out to be a little too restrictive, but I think that's the goal of the thing, is to do it as quickly as possible Under pressure.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1So how do you want to do it? Do you want to taste your own and then have the other person taste it, or do you want to do it Uh-huh Like? Do I want to subject you to this? Do I want to eat either of these?
Speaker 2is actually a better question.
Speaker 3I'd tell you what let's swap. Okay, okay, you be the first victim of my ramen scrambler. Can't wait, mind you. You know there's some good stuff in there, that's true. That's true.
Speaker 1Some good sausage, some scrambled egg with green onion, actual sausage and egg not whatever dry, you know Freeze-dried meat. I think that's going to help make it more edible. Okay, again, with these I can't help it. All right, do you want to do it at the same time, or do you want to one person go and then the other person go?
Speaker 3I tell you do you want to just do one dish at a time? Yeah, might as well just do that. You know what? Get that out of here. Get it out of my face. Let's get in on this bagel here.
Speaker 1Well, hang on, I'm going to name it first. I call this the. I thought it was going to be a funny bit, but no, never mind.
Speaker 3All right. So we got ramen, avocado, salmon, tomato and some miscellaneous seasoning. Oh, and cream cheese. How could I forget?
Speaker 1So it's a bagel on the bottom with whipped cream cheese, and then it's tomato, avocado, and then it's like the beauty bloggers, and then it's everything bagel seasoning with the ramen, and then some salt and pepper on top. Cheers, cheers. Oh and salmon. I forgot salmon, sorry. So really all I taste is just the bagel stuff. I don't really taste the it makes it so much better. Yeah, when combined with everything else, it really doesn't make it that weird, because it's just, you know.
Speaker 3We have a winner.
Speaker 1I was going to say are you sweating, Are you nervous? I don't like this whole thing.
Speaker 3I picked the smallest slice on purpose. It was two bites. It was actually pretty decent.
Speaker 1Yeah, I would eat this again.
Speaker 3You had the everything bagel experience. Yeah, now we're going for the breakfast. Yeah, so, chris, for the breakfast. Yeah so, chris, like I said, what I have here some great egg, some green onion, some real sausage and then this good old ramen. So what are you naming it? I'm going to call this the ramen disaster scramble. I thought you were just going to be like I call this the Ramen Disaster Scramble.
Speaker 1I thought you were just gonna be like. I call this Jeff Just like a name.
Speaker 3I shall name him.
Speaker 1Christopher, because I'm a disaster. Thanks.
Speaker 3You ready for this? Yeah, ready Cheers.
Speaker 2Mmm, not so bad.
Speaker 1Hang on, I'm gonna say that again, but like a man it's not that bad like a man. It's not that bad. This is, um, it's okay. I think the sausage, the real sausage, helps, because it makes it a bit more savory.
