Lowly Yogi Tales and other Stuff
Season 3, Ep. 4 School for Yogis, Class 4 Path of the yogi
Class 4, The path of the Yogi is the path of meeting ones experience, to meet all that arises with loving kindness.
Earth, mother and friends, you cross our heart. Hello, hello, hello, and welcome back to the Loli Yogi Tales and Other Stuff podcast. Oh, I'm so happy you found this Loli Yogi wherever you find yourself vibrating out of that multiverse. A tune this way. Let's have some fun together. We've been taking the journey together of the School for Yogis. This was an offering made 13 years ago that's finding its ways to your ears now, and here we go. Class 4, The Path of the Yogi. I do hope you all enjoy. Everybody's suffering. Right? You're going to a job which is a charnel ground. Yeah, it is. Right? You're dealing with the suffering and the old age, sickness, and death. You know? There is absolutely no arguing that a person is a charlatan. You know, it's, it's about as charlatan as you'd get. It's, it's where we keep our demons in this culture. Yeah, really, absolutely. That's the one step beyond. Yeah, that's it. So, tonight we're talking about, and I, you know, it's really looking into, is how we create our suffering and how we get out of that suffering. Now, what we're talking about really is view. View, intention, are one and the same. One's view is the way one literally holds or views one's world, which is one's intention. If you have the intention to go and make a lot of money, that informs your view. Because that informs what you're going to do. It then informs your conduct in the world. If you have an intention to be of benefit to all sentient beings, again, that informs your view. That informs how you see the world. Right? Which is then going to inform your conduct within the world. You're going to act differently. There is a very potent teaching in the yogic system that is called invocation. And basically what this means is that in every moment you have the opportunity to literally invoke your world. You are literally creating your world in each moment by the way you view it. If you view all the beings that come into your presence As gods and goddesses, they are. They will literally rise to the occasion, and they won't know why. If you view them as demons, they are. They will become just that. If you view them as stupid, they are. They will literally manifest in that way for you. If you view them as frustrating, as pushing your buttons, they will. So, there are different levels of view. And really, what the Buddha was talking about when he was saying that we create our suffering, is that our view is what creates our reality. We literally create our world by the way we view it. And by the intentions we hold. The challenge that the Buddha spoke to was that our karma informs that view, whether we like it or not. So we are imprisoned by our karma, by our past karma. The reality is, when we talk about karma, we're talking about debts. We're talking about karmic debts that we have amassed. In past lives with other beings. Or that they have amassed with us. Those debts have to be paid. We are talking about the law. That is what karma translates into. The law. But not the law from the point of view of, the most ancient mother, the serpent on the tree. Right, so many people think, oh, that's original sin. They've so mistaken it. The serpent on the tree is God's consort. The great mother. She is the one who holds and wields the energy of law. Karma. She holds us to our karma. As soon as we take a bite from that apple, we have created karma. We must pay it back. As soon as we do that, we step into the realm of karmic causes and conditions. Our challenge then becomes to pay it off. What the Buddhists and the Hindus have done over many, many thousands of years have created systems by which this can be done very quickly. That is what mantras are. That is what meditation is. That is what visualizations are. They are ways by which we can pay off these debts very quickly. Our view informs how fast or slow we move on the path. If we hold the view that I want to be of benefit to one person today, That's wonderful. I mean, that's really wonderful. But it's also going to still take you probably 10, 000 lifetimes to attain enlightenment. But it's, no, but it's great, you know, you just realize you have to meet all of karma. Because what we're talking about here when we're talking about attaining enlightenment, we're talking about meeting Tara's love. Tara is the serpent on the tree. They're one and the same. She holds and wields karma. Her dakinis are those ladies, beautiful lady beings, who literally, and they're known as the sky dancers, and they manifest their karma for us, ruthlessly. They're fearless. They're devious. They are manifesting in reality right now. They are literally the makeup and rouge of your reality that you are creating right now with your view and your karma. We love her. But what we're talking about, what we're talking about meeting enlightenment, is we're talking about literally meeting all karma. This is what the Buddha did under the Bodhi tree. This is what Christ did on the cross. This is what Krishna did, this is what Shiva did he met all of karma. Tara's law. This is what we are working to do. This is why you need powerful means to do it. This is also why it's dangerous, because if you step off this path, if you at some point decide, You know, I'm going to buy this reality. I'm going to buy this display. I'm not going to continue to meet it with loving kindness, but I'm going to buy it. You can become extraordinarily evil. As a reference point, Hitler was someone who had realized Tara's Law in the wrong way. Swastikas Tara. That is literally the symbol of Tara's Law. He used that for power over people, rather than power to protect people. This is why it ended badly for him. It is said that if you do this wrong, you end up in Vajra Hell. Imagine a hell that is adamantine. That is pure aggression in an adamantine diamond form. It does not sound good to me. On the other side, imagine that crystal being completely clear and filled with Bodhi Bliss. That's enlightenment. They're one and the same. One is the mistake, one is not. Either way, we'll turn to diamond. Whether we are a black diamond or a luminous, brilliant diamond, it's about our view. And about our intention. Our view has to be about bodhichitta, loving kindness. No deviation. All of the other laws will not take you there. Tara's vibration. Mahakala's vibration. Ganesha's vibration. Sarasvati's vibration. All are bodhichitta. This is literally what we become. And when we become this vibration, we are all of karma, as a Vajra Palace. Beautiful, brilliant, Atavanti. And we sit at the center of that palace as the deity, holding it all up with the nature of our mind, as we hold the vibration of bodhicitta, loving kindness. That is, the goal, the view. The interesting thing about this particular path is you actually hold the view of the end at the very beginning. You're already enlightened. You already have everything that you need. As we talked about last time, Mara's trick is to try to get you not to believe that. But if you meet him with Bodhichitta to the very end, not only do you become him, you've closed the door to Israel, and you've become a Great Protector an empowerment is literally a reference point to a vibration. When you have that reference point, then it becomes up to you. A guru will give you a reference point and a means. Reference point being the actual vibration, the means being a mantra or a practice to get there. After that, there's nothing more a guru can do. Right? They plant the seed of that love in your being. If you like the feeling of bodhicitta and you want it, What happens is it becomes an unrequited love. You yearn for that vibration to be in your life. That yearning becomes your view. That view becomes your path. What you're yearning for is the vibration that the Guru holds. By yearning for it, you become it. By becoming it, others yearn for it. And it grows. There is never enough enlightenment. The more enlightened beings we have in this world realm, Literally, the more potential we have for being in a golden age. What great beings do, is they learn how to hold up light. They learn how to protect space. With their minds. By holding this vibration, you actually will literally start to protect your environment. You start to notice changes in people around you. You start to notice that things get a little better. People are a little happier. The bullies leave you alone and don't know why. The reason is, you're holding a vibration. You're holding a yoga. The more attuned you become to that yoga, the more you hold the view, the more you will become attuned to the vibration. It's a dance. It's a dance of devotion. By saying that you want it, the dakinis will give it. By attuning to what they give, they will give you more. By attuning again, they will give you more. Until you are one the image that is used, which I really appreciate, is that of a great light. The great light of the creative. is shining on all of us. When we are truly meeting our yoga, we cast no shadow. We have attuned so thoroughly to the vibration of that light that the light passes through us completely. The karma is our shadow. When there is no more shadow, there is no more karma. We've spoken in the past of chains of iron and chains of gold. That's karma. Chains of iron, bad karma. Chains of gold, good karma. There are still chains. We're working to do something radical here. This is very different, as I was speaking to last week, than other Buddhist practices. We're working to actually create enlightened beings together. I'm asking something of you. is a little root. I'm being a little root. I'm asking more of you than maybe I should. Because I am saying, I want, not want, need, for you to attain enlightenment. For you. For me. For them. The great truth of the matter is that we have a means that addresses this dilemma. Because, you know, in reality, we would be in a lot of trouble if we didn't have this means. Because we're really surrounded by a lot of evil. But, as yogis, this is good news. This is not something to be afraid of. This is not something to run away from. This is not something to get scared of. The whole thing's going to fall apart on us? Excellent. Because that means we're going to meet it, we're going to meet it fast. This is great. We don't have to worry about it. We say our mantra. And smile happily as the world falls apart around us. Because we have the right means. If we didn't, this would be terrifying. So imagine what everybody out there who doesn't have this means is experiencing. They can't start saying mantra, because they don't know it. So it is our view, and it is our intention, that is the antidote. We are either trapped in the entrails of this demon, Or we are absolutely free. There's no middle ground. The means is Tara. The means is Mahakala. It is that protected energy. The means is Bodhichitta. When you hold the vibration of Bodhichitta, as a yoga, you will meet it all very quickly. Don't be afraid of that. This is why what I'm asking of you is rude. Because I'm asking you to meet the horror. That's a rude thing to do. Because I'm asking something of you that most people are not asked of. But I'm asking it of you because I believe you can. If I didn't believe you could, I wouldn't ask. You have taken this journey with me. You have seen me and I have seen you. Because of that, I am asking now, in fact I'm saying it's time, I'm commanding, I'm not asking, I'm commanding, that we realize the Vajra Mind together, we do it. We turn around and we share that with others. That we do it in the prison. That we do it in the tattoo parlor. We do it in the old age home. We are warriors of compassion. Every time you have to pierce somebody's skin, you have the opportunity of impregnating them with love and kindness. There is nothing wrong with where we are in our lives. We are right where we need to be to be of benefit. If we hold the right view, We have everything we need. Once you have this empowerment, there is nothing more you need. Our intention has to very purely be about bodhichitta lovingkindness. Further deepening dance of bodhichitta lovingkindness. The communication back and forth with Tara and the dakinis. Asking for more and more depth. More and more brilliance. Let it be about bodhichitta. Let us dedicate the merit. This merit may all obtain. May it defeat the enemy wrongdoing from the stormy waves of birth, old age, sickness, and death. From the ocean of Sosara, may I free all beings. Oh, wow. Well, there you are. Thank you so much for joining me as we conclude and dedicate The Merit on the Path of the Yogi. I do hope this finds you well and that you have a week filled with joy, a week filled with plenty, and a week filled with glorious. Play us out, Monkey Max. Play us out.
