Earth, mother and friends, you cross our heart. Hello, hello, hello, and welcome back to the Lowly Yogi Tales and Other Stuff podcast. Ah, so happy you found this lowly yogi here, wherever you find yourself, vibrating out there in that multiverse attuned this way. Let's have some fun together. We've been enjoying the School for Yogis, some old classes that I gave and out in a basement of a tattoo parlor, well, 13 years ago. It's been extraordinary for me to Sit and listen to these with the spirits here in my spirit shrine. It's like I'm sharing the wisdom that I need right now, today, in this time of stress and outrage. The talk that has come forward is sitting in the fire. And boy, that was really truly a message that I needed to hear, is that what is happening is arising to be met with love and kindness. Not the other way around. We are those fire keepers that hold that love and kindness and meet whatever arises so that it may find the ground of safe attachment once again. So here we are, and today, sharing the talk, Sitting in the Fire. Sitting in the Fire brings healing. School for Yogis, Class 5. Sitting in the Fire. We're on the path together as yogis. We're not to be anything, we already are. And one of the things that's becoming more and more clear to me is that This path is actually quite simple. It's extraordinarily brutal. It sucks in every way possible. But it's really simple. And the simplicity of it is that everything that arises, everything that comes into our mind and into our life, is exactly right. It's exactly the way it should be. There is no mistake. The only mistake we make is making a story of it. Stepping outside of it. Because the energy of it is so hot, and so direct. And the path is quite simply to meet that. And in fact, the more we just relax into it, and become one with it, The more hot and potent it becomes. In truth, because we and it are one, the more hot and potent we become. This is what it means to really take on the life of a yogi. I have been running into this a lot lately, where I try to explain, you know, I have good friends who I say, Oh, you're a yogi, and they go, and they don't get it. Because they'll come to me and they'll complain about their life. And as soon as they start complaining about their lives, I've realized they haven't gotten it. They haven't understood what they're doing. And so it became important to me to actually clarify this. And so that's what we will do tonight, is really clarify this idea of what is it to be a yogi? What is it to meet a yoga? Right. We have this idea of yoga because, you know, these, all these really skinny white chicks are stretching a lot. And white, you know, really skinny white guys are doing these amazing poses. And they have these gorgeous bodies and, um, and that's what we think of as yoga. But the reality is, that is the smallest and most corrupt version of what yoga actually is. What we are looking at here is basically a very ancient wisdom. And it's a wisdom that goes back beyond the Vedas, beyond the Vedic system. It's extraordinarily ancient. It really goes back beyond this Dark Age, beyond the Bronze Age, beyond the Silver Age. This is the wisdom of a Golden Age. And really, what it is that we are working on. is to become a vibration. A yoga is a vibration. When you see, if you go to a yoga class, and you see them do like the tree, right, or the warrior, all of these, are exercises that are trying to trick you into a vibration. What it's doing is by putting your body in a certain pose, you're actually forcing yourself to learn about the vibration of that pose. The tree is probably the best example I've found of that because it's an awkward position. And the more that you align with the vibration of tree, the easier it is to hold the pose. The more that you align with the energy of Downward Dog the easier it is to literally hold the pose. It has a lot less to do with our body strength. That comes quite naturally, you know, with just practice. But the real practice becomes after you gain the body strength to hold the pose. Because the real practice is actually learning how to hold the vibration with your mind. Okay, now that's wonderful and all, right? You can hold a tree. Woohoo! Good job. You can hold, you know, uh, whatever it might be. But then, you see, the Tibetans understood something. And they held on to it. The Hindus also understood it. And they held on to it too. It's been passed down. The Tibetans are really important at this point is that they actually have held these yogas. Their monastic system and their yogic system has actually, in a pure way, passed this from generation to generation so that we have it. We wouldn't be having this conversation today had it not been for the Tibetans and what they've done for the past thousand years. So it wasn't the Hindus. The Hindus had it before them. Tibetan Buddhism came from India. It came from a very specific sect of Indian culture. Uh, yoga. You see there are many different yogas there. As many, we are all yogas. There as many different yogas as there are people on the planet, as there are animals, as there are beings, as there are beings throughout the universe. That's how many yogas there are. But you see what yogis understand is there are certain yogas with great potency, with great power. Great magical means. And this is what it means to step onto the path of being a yogi. Is that you realize the illusion of your life the idea of being special, the idea of becoming the best piercer, or the best therapist, or the best legal representative, you know, the best nurse, or That becomes the illusion. The reality is, everything that you're doing, every aspect of your life, becomes about gathering the karma you need to meet your yoga. So when the horrors arise in front of you, it is literally the opportunity that you are gathering the nuts, the bolts, the wood, the siding for your crystal palace. And so when I hear someone who says they're a dharma practitioner call me up and complain about how hard their life is, I think, you've missed the boat. And I'm usually too polite to say so. But tonight I get the opportunity to say it. They have missed the boat. What have they missed? They have missed that everything that is happening to them. Everything that is taking place in their life is them moving closer to enlightenment. If they ask to do it quickly, it will be worse. It will be hotter. It will be torturous. Because you are asking to gain all of the material of the three worlds and the ten directions, so that you may attain enlightenment. As human beings, we have put those who have done this on big pedestals. We have put Christ on the biggest pedestal of all time. We have put the Buddha on that very same pedestal. Shiva, Krishna, have all been put on the pedestal. And in my opinion, that would piss them off. No end. Because in my opinion, they would say, Why aren't you here with me? Why don't you come do this? Now, I get it, right? Following Christ's example, that's a little rough. Alright. He did it all in one week. I mean, I'm sorry, that was brutal. I have great respect for him. Huge respect. That he chose to meet all of karma of the material world in a week. Whew. Unbelievable. And he did it. And that moment when he turned to the thief, that moment when he turned and the thief asked him, Is there a place in the kingdom of heaven for me? And he says, Yes, I forgive you. There's a place in the kingdom of heaven for you. His next words, his very next words were, It is done. You see, to me, that's very telling. He knew what he was doing. He knew that he was working to meet a yoga. He knew it. That's why he went through the torture he went through. He didn't go through the torture because it was fun. He didn't go through it because he would be special in some way. He went through it because he knew that if he did this, he would meet Tara's yoga. And there is nothing more precious than that. That is worth it. He knew it. Why did the Buddha do six years of aesthetic practice and then three days under a tree? Taking on the hordes of Mara. He knew he was meeting a yoga. Clear on it. He understood it. This is our task. Not my task. Our task. Why did I sit in an office? It's filled with pedophiles. I was working to meet a yoga. I didn't want to be there with them. They're evil. There's no way around it. They're some of the most evil beings I have ever met. Pure and simple. They're demons. I have no problem saying that. They are. I wanted to meet the yoga of Tara. And if that's what it took, that's what I would do. That's the reality of our past. We are literally working to meet something so precious and so potent that we are asked I mean, you could, really, you could do something easier than that. You could do a lot of things easier than this. You know, if you want to go out and become famous, that's easier than this. Why did Milarepa build the seven towers for Marpa? Tear them down, build them again. Tear them down, build them again. He was working to meet Tara's yoga. I guess that is kind of the main point, is how we view our world. You know, people really, they talk about taking this world so personally. And I just have been struck over and over again by, this piece of wisdom missing. It's not there. That somehow people aren't seeing that there really are working to manifest a yoga. What does it mean? to manifest a yoga. What does that actually mean when I say that? These are fairly foreign words, but what, the way that I really see it is you have to gain enough material to meet the law of whatever yoga practice you're doing. Once the law is met, it is manifest. This is the truth of magic. If you want to cast a spell, You know, let's say it's a small spell. No big deal. You cast, you put an intention into something and then you hold that intention. I have a good friend who loved the gypsies. He was hanging out with the gypsies in Paris at one point. And, uh, one of the, uh, White folks over there decided to do something that pissed one of these gypsies off. And he watched as she went in. Very simple, straightforward. Opened a cabinet in her, you know, little caravan. Pulled out a black candle. Wrote a curse. Slapped it under the candle and lit it. There's your spell. Basically what you've done is you've set an intention and then you've put the energy, you've literally put the energy enough to cast it on it. So, literally, you've put the energy into the space. Now, a yoga is a, is a great magic. In that, what you're, what you're actually doing is you're literally taking this intention And putting enough energy into it for it to cast, for it to manifest in the material world. These yogas are massive, and so they take a huge amount of energy to cast. Tara's is the, well, it's, what you're finding here tonight sitting in a coffee house is the grail. Tara's yoga is the grail. This is what Christ realized on the cross. That was the grail. It was not a cup that captured his blood, although we could say that it was, okay, fine. But what it was, was a yogic wisdom of the great feminine, the great mother, the great law. She holds all law. She is all of karma. Imagine wielding the potency of all of karma. That's what we're talking about. That is why, if you don't have the right intention, you can become so evil. This is the level of potency we're talking about. Why do I keep saying diamond or adamantine? Well, you've all been in the world for a while, so you know that it's a lot like people bashing into each other all the time, seeing who's stronger. Whose law is more potent? Whose law is stronger? Right? So, imagine within this realm, wielding the adamantine law. You win every time. That is what we are doing here. We are working to realize. This yoga. This law. And I guess I shouldn't be too hard on those folks who I talk to who are in their dharmic practice, or who are in their place. You know, and I guess I'm not. I'm pretty polite. I, I smile and nod and say, I'm sorry that's happening for you. That's so rough. What a shame. But internally I'm thinking, the shame is that you're not seeing your opportunity. The shame is that you literally would never have to meet this again if you met it with Bodhichitta right now. Mother is so kind. She so wants us to do this. She, I mean, really, she really does. I mean, she would really help us if we, if we, if we choose to. You know, and we don't even necessarily have to show up halfway, we just have to even say we want it, and man, she is on the spot to give it to us. Especially in the world we live in right now, we are needed. White light workers are needed. The more potent the means they wield, the better. It is Tara's law that holds up our realization. So here's the subtlety here. What do I mean by holds up? This is where I started to understand. When I talk about gaining the materials, the nuts, the bolts. The Dakhinis, the mother, Tara. traditional tale is that Oppa Storms, the Palace of the Dinis. The story is, is that after he's done all of his practice, I, after he is worked in the whorehouse for 12 years, he's worked in the Sesame Shop. Crushing Sesame Seeds. He has a breakdown. Because he talks to his teacher and his teacher says, I'm sorry, you've done it. There is nothing else. You've realized everything there is to realize. At which point he says, that can't be true. And it's said that in the traditional stories, and this is some of the more secret, there's always an outer and inner and a secret to these stories. This is the secret of the story, that he storms the palace of the Dakhinis, when he gets to the Queen of the Dakhinis, she's furious with him, this is Tara, of course, Queen of the Dakhinis, I say that like everyone should know that, in reality, no one would know that, but Tara is furious with Talal. How dare you, she rails. Who are you to come to my palace? Who are you? And his response is, I am Chakrasamvara. At which point her demeanor changes on the spot. She says, welcome. Let me get you what you've come for. What does that mean, I am Chakrasamvara? What that means is that he met his law. He met his yoga. And she, that means That he's literally arrived at Tara's doorstep with everything that she needs to build his palace. He has met all the karma. How did he do it? See, Tilopa did it in 12 years. He worked in a whorehouse and he worked in a sweatshop. Christ did it in a week. He was whipped and flayed alive. But they both did the same thing. They both met the same yoga. That is true. That's to me the most intriguing part of this. You don't have to do it in a week. Thank goodness. But you have to meet it. You can't show up to Tara and say, I'm ready and not be ready. You can't show up and say, Oh, well, I got half my palace. You know, she'll Off you go. Go get the rest. I mean, she won't be mean about it. You know, it's not like she's gonna punish you for showing up halfway. You know, she's just gonna send you back out there. You can say it's not time yet. You are ready. You are ready to do this. To realize this level of realization. What I'm offering is, Bodhichitta, which is an extraordinarily potent means. It is the means. It's Tara's means. And what it does is it literally meets and completes very quickly all karma. So once you have that, this is what the Buddha understood. This is what Christ understood. Because you know that in his great forgiveness, that's what he was meeting all of that experience with was Bodhichitta. That's what he was doing, was he was literally beating every experience that was taking place with Bodhichitta, loving kindness. When he had met everything, all existence to the very end with loving kindness, he knew it was done. You don't have to be seen. It's better not to be. My recommendation is When in doubt, say mantra. It can never hurt to be in the vibration of Tara or Bodhichitta. That will never hurt you. It might be time. This merit may all obtain omniscience. May it defeat the enemy wrongdoing. From the stormy waves of birth, old age, sickness and death. From the oceans of death. Aura, may I free all beings. Oh wow. That My dedicating the merit was always a little rocky in those classes. Thinking back on it now as a memory, no one ever really learned the dedication of merit because I never wrote it down. I would just say it and folks would follow along with me. So thus, that brings us to a close for Class 5, Sitting in the Fire. Thank you so much for joining me, this lowly yogi.
