Right now, we’re watching the biggest retirement boom in history—12,000 people turning 65 every single day in 2025. That’s a lot of people who don’t know how to change the input on their TVs and they are all looking for somewhere to retire that’s cheap, safe, and livable.

Here’s the bad news, folks: not all states are created equal. Some places are retirement death traps, where your golden years turn into some “Mad Max” movie. I’m talking crime, unbearable weather, skyrocketing taxes, and healthcare systems that would make even  medieval doctors go, “Yeah, that’s pretty tough.”

So sit back, grab a drink (you’ll need one), and let me break down the absolute worst states for retirement. Part One. And before you get defensive—yes, I may be talking about YOUR state.
