Welcome everybody, to another episode of the Leadership Drip. I'm your host, Clay Greene. And today's episode is going to be a little bit different. Typically you would hear an episode on leadership, whether it's one topic or another, but today's Christmas, so I am going to basically just do a quick reading of the Birth of Jesus Christ, which I'm a Christian and have no problem with being able to say that. So just going to do a quick reading from the book of Luke, chapter two and then let everybody have their time back. I hope you're spending time with your friends and family. I know even if you're not a Christian, often everybody gets to enjoy a free day off at least. So there you go. It's good either way. So once again, it's great to speak with everybody. It's been a great year. Definitely looking forward to the time coming up in the future as well, with more leadership topics on the horizon. So here we go. Luke, chapter two from the Amplified Bible. Now, in those days, a decree went out from the emperor Caesar Augustus that all that inhabited the world, or the Roman Empire, which it is, should be registered in a census. This was the first census taken while Kinreus was governor of Syria. And everyone went to register for the census, each to his own city. So Joseph, which is Jesus, dad, also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house of the family of David. That's King David from the Old Testament, if anybody's wondering. In order to register with Mary, which is Jesus's mother, who was betrothed to him and was with child while they were in Bethlehem, the time came for her to give birth and she gave birth to the son, her firstborn, and she wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger. Cause there was no private room for them in the inn in the same region. There were also shepherds staying out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them. And the glory of the Lord flashed and shone up around them. And they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy, which will be for all people. For this day in the city of David, there has been born for you a saviour who is Christ the Lord, the Messiah. And this will be a sign for you by which you will recognise him. You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. Then suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of heavenly hosts, an angelic army praising God and saying, glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men, with whom he is well pleased. When the angels had gone away from them into the heaven, the shepherds began to sing to one another, let us go straight to Bethlehem and see this wonderful thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us. So they went in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph and the baby as he lay in the manger. And when they had seen this, they made known that what had been told to them and about this child and all who heard it were astounded and wondered at what shepherds had told them. But Mary treasured all these things, giving careful thought to them and pondering them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all that they had seen and they had heard, just as it had been told to them. So this was the birth of Jesus Christ. That's what we typically serve and enjoy Christmas about. Some of you just enjoy a good day off. So I hope everybody has a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year, and I definitely look forward to speaking to you again right around 2025. Have a great night. God bless.
