#2 How Do I Start with Book Marketing?
In this episode, we take a look at the foundation of your children's or young adult book marketing strategy which consists of three elements:
- defining your target audience
- choosing your social media platform
- setting your goal
In children's and young adult literature, who is your target audience? Is it children or the people buying books for them? Knowing where to find these people online will help you connect with them. What are your goals in connecting with these people? Is it to sell books? If so, how many is enough for you and why? If not, what is your goal in marketing?
Having both the answers to these questions and a clear marketing strategy means you market yourself and your work to the right people. If not, you'll be marketing to everyone and reaching no one. And who has time for that when you could be writing?
