and Carly Wilson delivering the latest scoop from the digital realm. GitHub accidentally revealed Open A.I's upcoming G.P.T-5 models in a brief blog post that was quickly deleted. The post detailed that G.P.T-5 will come in four versions and promises major improvements in reasoning, code quality, and user experience. Notably, G.P.T-5 is said to have enhanced agentic capabilities, allowing it to tackle complex coding tasks with minimal prompting. Last month, reports indicated Open A.I was gearing up to launch G.P.T-5 in early August, including mini and nano models accessible via API. This week, several Open A.I employees hinted at a significant announcement, with C.E.O Sam Altman offering teasers over the weekend. Open A.I has now confirmed a public launch event scheduled for 10 AM Pacific Time. The announcement coincides with the release of two open-weight G.P.T models that can run locally on individual P.C's. G.P.T-5 aims to push the boundaries of AI performance, improving both technical applications and user interactions. This launch is highly anticipated in the AI community, signaling continued rapid advancement in generative AI technologies. Users and developers alike are eager to see how G.P.T-5 transforms coding and reasoning tasks moving forward.

Claude Code is an AI-powered tool designed to automate repetitive tasks and help users manage work projects, personal goals, and mental health journaling. Users begin by creating a structured system with folders and clearly formatted files outlining their objectives. AI agents configured with specific prompts handle different tasks like tracking performance, generating content, or analyzing data. This customizable approach allows Claude Code to adapt to evolving needs by refining prompts and updating objectives regularly. Its versatility enables users to create sub-agents for projects, habit tracking, or professional development. Claude Code processes natural language input, making personalization straightforward even for those without technical expertise. By integrating it into daily routines, users can save time and boost productivity in both personal and professional spheres. The tool supports long-term planning, trend analysis, and goal management with relevant, actionable outputs. Overall, Claude Code offers a comprehensive system that empowers individuals to focus on meaningful priorities. This AI assistant represents a new frontier in automation and personal empowerment. Apple has announced a new$100 billion commitment to America, expanding its U.S. investment to$600 billion over the next four years. The company plans to move the manufacturing of all iPhone and Apple Watch cover glass to the United States. This effort is part of the newly unveiled American Manufacturing Program, aimed at bringing more of Apple’s supply chain and advanced manufacturing to the country. Apple will expand its partnership with Corning by opening the world’s largest smartphone glass production line in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. This means every iPhone and Apple Watch worldwide will use Kentucky-made cover glass. The two companies will also open an Apple-Corning Innovation Center in Kentucky. The announcement comes after tensions between Apple C.E.O Tim Cook and the Trump administration, signaling a renewed agreement. While the plan doesn’t involve assembling iPhones domestically, it focuses on sourcing materials and investing in U.S. labor. Apple’s stock rose about 5% amid the news and Cook’s Oval Office meeting with President Trump. Brazilian tech journalist Marcus Mendes has been closely following Apple’s developments for over a decade.

Donald Trump’s media company has partnered with Perplexity to integrate AI-powered search into Truth Social, the platform seen as an alternative to X.com. This new feature is now available to users of Truth Social’s browser version, allowing AI-driven web searches. Devin Nunes, C.E.O of Trump Media, called this integration a vital step in supporting what he terms the Patriot Economy. Perplexity’s chief business officer, Dmitry Shevelenko, highlighted the A.I's role in delivering transparent and reliable answers to users’ questions. Despite this partnership, Perplexity faces serious allegations of using stolen content and evading web crawling restrictions. Several major publishers, including News Corp and the New York Post, have sued Perplexity for copyright infringement. Critics note the irony in Trump Media’s mission statement condemning Big Tech while Perplexity’s backers include major tech figures like Jeff Bezos. Fact-checks on Perplexity’s AI reveal it does not implicate Trump in Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, despite public associations. The AI also comments on economic challenges, linking them to GDP slowdown and inflation trends. On tariffs, it states that recent hikes have generally harmed economic growth and jobs, offering limited benefits in manufacturing. Midjourney has responded to a lawsuit filed by Disney and Universal, which accused the AI image platform of widespread copyright infringement. The studios claim users created nearly identical copies of their copyrighted characters using Midjourney’s technology. In its filing, Midjourney argued that AI training falls under the protection of fair use and that copyright laws do not grant absolute control over creative works. The company also accused the studios of hypocrisy, noting that both Disney and Universal use AI tools themselves. Midjourney revealed that many Disney and Universal employees have accounts on their platform. The response highlighted Disney C.E.O Bob Iger’s past positive remarks about AI as a tool for artists. Midjourney maintains that its users must follow terms that prohibit intellectual property violations. The company contends that creating images inspired by popular culture, including fan art and criticism, is legally permissible. This case differs from others by focusing on the similarity of AI-generated images rather than AI training alone. Midjourney is represented by a legal team with experience in key AI-related copyright cases.
