Your Home Hypnosis Office — Making It Work, Making It Profitable” Plus Tomm gialondo on the Tom Silver Accademy

SPEAKER_03

Good morning, everyone. Welcome to the Monday Report. I'm your host, as always, and going along with my super cohort here, Frank T-Rex, manning the studio, as always, and just making sure that we are live in all the places we're supposed to be broadcasting, and it appears that we are. So let's get going today on what we're talking about. So, and as always, this wonderful podcast is being brought to you by the North American Hypnotherapy Guild. There's the QR code, as always, scan it, check it out, become a member. And the HypnoWorld magazine. There's the QR code, scan it, check it out, subscribe, be in the know in all the things happening in the world of hypnosis. We're having a good morning so far. It is really nice out there today here in Michigan. And just really looking forward to the day. So, what are we talking about right now? Well, we're gonna be talking about your home office, and then a little bit later on, Tommy Girlando is gonna be stopping by to talk about the Tom Silver Academy. But as always, I got my cup of coffee, and just looking forward to it. And if you are watching us, be sure to check us out on our YouTube page and online at the newsroom. And we'll put those links up a little bit later on. So we're talking about a shift today, right? Building that wellness and successful hypnosis practice from your own office. Now, if you've ever wondered whether or not you really need an expensive office, um rent waiting rooms or commercial space to create a thriving practice in today's episode may completely change your mind or your perspective. Now, like a lot of you guys, um I did. I understand that today's kind of talking about that, but you know what, 2012, when I first opened my very first commercial office, um I thought that's what you had to do. You had to have that space, you had to have that brick and mortar space to be successful. And you know what? In 2012, you kinda did. But as I said, times are changing. So over the last several years, um telehealth and virtual behavioral changes and wellness services, well, they've they've become increasingly popular according to according to research. Uh a lot of research has been done on this. So nearly 28% of all mental health outpatients in the United States, right, received almost all of their care through telehealth platforms such as Zoo. Um I know there are others out there, uh millions more using hybrid models, combining the virtual and in-person office. Like I say, I really I had an in-person office and it worked for years and years and years. Um so it just came down to a place where I should just begin to spend less and less time there and see more and more people online via Zoom. So organizations like the American Psychological or Psychiatric Association, excuse me, report that telehealth continues to grow because clients want convenient and accessible and affordable service services, excuse me. Um, and that's just that's what they're looking for, right? Uh so for many hypnotherapists that might this might create an opportunity. And I think it does create an opportunity. It has certainly created an opportunity for me and for those that are doing this. I mean, you're able to see so many more clients than you would normally. I've had I had clients drive two, three hours away, even though I said, hey, um, you can do this virtually, we can do it on Zoom. They didn't want to do it. So I don't know what that was about. So, and you have to wonder, can you make can a home office, can your home office actually make you money? Um and I will say honestly, as I've been saying here, I thought that was not the case. I I had that physical office from 2012 all the way up to 2022, and it worked. It worked well, as I said. And I began to see more and more clients online, and I began spending, I began spending uh less and less time at the office. It went from four days a week, eight hours a day, down to three days a week, six hours a day, down to like two days a week, a couple hours a day. Uh so I just thought to myself that there was better things I could do with that money. So the answer I'm gonna say right now is yes. And in many cases, it can be more profitable than a traditional office because I'm not spending that huge amount of money on rent. Uh, you think about the typical expense of the commercial office, you get that monthly rent, utilities, uh, you have uh furniture that you gotta buy, even though you have furniture in your home office, insurance, um, and many of us still carry insurance in a home office, and I will say don't get rid of your insurance, right? And then if you do need it, if you're not your own janitor, you get cleaning services, uh, if you're big enough, you're gonna have a reception staff, uh, you might have to have office maintenance. Oftentimes here in Michigan, you know, in the winter we were plowing the parking lot constantly, uh, shoveling off the steps, salting, um, vacuuming, keeping the office clean, right? Now you compare that to a professional home setup, you still have some of those things going on in the winter. Um, but for practitioners that are running a highly successful business, a quiet, dedicated room to professional with professional lighting, just as I have here, right? I got a pretty good room. As a matter of fact, we're in the very room right now that I'm doing this podcast from uh where I started. I had a chair over here, I had a chair over there, five CD changer, all that stuff, and I just saw clients right here in this room. Um and I still continue to see them in this room from time to time. Via Zoom. So that becomes an interesting thing. Um you do have to have a good quality microphone. Um, you do have to have HIPAA conscious video platform, as I do. Strong internet is a constant, uh, and that could be just some of the overhead that you're gonna have. You're still gonna have a little bit of overhead, but it's gonna be far, far less. Um, and it's like I say, it can be dramatically lower. So, in discussions among therapists and telehealth providers online, um a lot of the people that I've spoken to, and I don't want to um well, I I will just say that the colleagues that I've talked with uh report saving hundreds, thousands of dollars. I know I have uh monthly by moving fully or partially, virtually, this kind of increases that income by eliminating a lot of those office expenses. Especially if you're paying $1,000 a month for rent, uh, such as I was almost I was nearly a thousand dollars a month for rent because I had a really big office at the the patient area, the intake area, uh reception, I had the huge recording studio in there. So it was a really big office. So that I I'm really liking the lower overhead. Now lower overhead means more profit because if you are charging anywhere from $125 to $200 per hypnosis session, and you eliminate that $1,000 to $1,500 monthly office lease, uh, that money stays in your business. Um I know that I want to say I think the first year I moved out of the office, I think I saved like $8,000 that year. So that that was a big huge thing for me. And it really helped in other areas of um my business, kind of really changed everything. Certainly, I was able to spend that money on uh the Michigan International Hypnosis client. Client, excuse me, conference. So that was funny. Um but let's talk about clients since I just used the word, right? Uh, one of the biggest myths is is in hypnosis is that people want in-person. Now, a lot of them do. As I said, I had clients driving three three hours away sometimes for that in-person session. And while that holds true, it's not 100% true. It's not as true as it used to be anymore, right? Today's clients want convenience. Um they there a lot of these people are busy professionals, parents, college students, uh, and people with anxiety, clients in rural areas, uh, people that are uncomfortable with walking into a wellness center uh or wellness office, if you will, as we talk, as we talk about it. Virtual hypnosis removes that. Kinda helps. Uh on the other side, though, there are a lot of people that have busy lives. They didn't want their their the people in that house to know what they were talking about, so that they liked it, they like the in-person sessions, but many like the virtual the virtual because it does remove some of the barriers. Uh and we again we look at that research from the American Psychiatric Association. Telepsychiatry resources, notice that telehealth services improve accessibility and often increase client satisfaction. Accessibility is huge because you can't always get to the to your to your the therapist's office, right? But you can always get online. Well, technically hopefully always get online. Uh in hypnosis specifically, many practitioners uh such as myself uh discovered uh something surprising during during those years in the pandemic. Um clients often feel more comfortable entering hypnosis in their own home environment. Well, they can't they can't, but but um, but they do. So, and I'm gonna say 50, I'm gonna be I'm 50-50 on it. Alright? So they've got their favorite chair, their nervous system feels safe, they avoid traffic stress, uh, they avoid rushing into the office or the waiting room, they're gonna be late, uh, you get the calls like, oh, I'm running late, and they're stressed out about running late. Uh so that well, and as I go all Scottish on you there, um that helps, right, with virtual. So that comfort can actually deepen your work or the work. So setting up your home office can be can be a challenge, but once you get it, you get it, right? If you're gonna be doing this, you know, as professionally, your setup matters. It does matter. Um have a good microphone. I have the sure SMB7 broadcaster microphone, the Q82HD audio interface, I've got solid internet. Um that works for me. But the home office should feel intentional and professional, even if it's small. You can do that, right? Um here's some of the essentials that we want to talk about. First, privacy, obviously. We want to make sure that if you're using it online and or doing it virtual and in person a bit, right? But especially online. Um, HIPAA-HIPA HIPAA matters, HIPAA compliant, right? Because you need that quiet environment where sessions won't be interrupted. Um soundproofing helps. You can see the huge acoustic panels I've got here up on the wall. Uh you can use a white machine noise, um, outside the door can help. Headphones, obviously, I always tell my clients to get a good pair of headphones and a comfortable chair. Uh professionalism counts, obviously. So lighting and camera. Right now I'm using the Q Zoom 8 4K camera. It's a really good camera. So that helps because you can see your face clearly, you can see them clearly. Um, you know, you don't need a Hollywood studio, but uh a nice, you know, simple ring light can help. I have some really good lighting up here, it's LED, can help to transform that professional appearance. Audio, good sound is critical. As I said, I am using the Q Quantum HD2. It is it's a good mid-range. I paid like uh $600 for it. So and remember, your voice is your instrument, so a good quality microphone, whether it's USB, XLR, um, you can do that. You don't have to have an interface if you have a good quality USB microphone. If you have a good microphone on your camera, that can work as well. But I would say have a microphone. So, and background. Background counts. You know, you can see my printer behind me, but I got some dude ads up there to make it homey. Uh got my certificates on the wall to make it more professional so that background is clean and calming and neutral tones. You can have bookshelves, you can have soft lighting, you can do all kinds of things. Keep those distractions to a minimum. So that becomes very important, right? Your environment communicates trust before you even speak. Have a cup of coffee. So, and let's take a moment to look at the business side of this, right? As if we haven't been looking at the business side of this all along. Um, and I can see that Tommy Girlando is in the waiting room, so we're gonna be bringing him on in just a moment. So, as we talk about the money-making side of the home office, because it can make you money. Uh, a home office in hypnosis opens opportunities that traditional office sometimes limit, such as that accessibility, that uh flexibility in your schedule. Uh, you're no longer restricted by your immediate geographic area. I see people in New York, Washington, um, California, and of course all across Michigan. So, not as much as I used to, but I still do uh see the occasional client. So, and depending on your trading certifications and local regulations, right, you want to make sure that you're keeping up with that wherever you are, because I know not everyone watching this or that will be watching this or listening to this is in Michigan. So, across those border regions or broader regions, I should say, internationally, in hypnosis and coaching models, um, just make sure that you're following all those. You can offer group hypnosis online. You can do that. Um, don't think that you can. A lot of people have said, well, I like group hypnosis. You can still do that, but you can do it online. So it's really the same thing as hypnotizing a group of people, and I just use the word hypnotizing. Uh, that's not a normal word for me, so I think Tommy will make fun of me of that in just a minute. So, but at the end of the day, your your office becomes your studio and your content creation area, and this is where many people in the hypnosis profession are uh finding an entirely new revenue stream or a new way to make money. So, yeah, um one good recorded sleep program, one good recorded uh anxiety confidence workshops that can generate that recurring income. So at the end of the day, guys, yes, right, home office is a wonderful way to open up opportunities, to lower overhead, to make money, and to let your business become uh scalable. So, those are just some of the things to look at. But I digress. So, in just a moment here, I am gonna be bringing Tommy Girlando on. So, without any further ado, ladies and gentlemen, the amazing hockey town hypnotist Tommy Girlando. Tommy!

SPEAKER_00

Hey, what's happening, Dan? How are you today? How are you, sir? Every day's a good day. How about yourself?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know if you heard me there. I'm doing good. Um I I can you can pick on me here a little bit because I was doing uh we were just talking about home office. That's what we were talking about today. And I talked about group hypnosis through virtual, and I used the word hypnotize. You can hypnotize people, which is an odd statement for me because I don't usually say hypnotize.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Better than hypnotize.

SPEAKER_03

I had a pediatric client one time tell me that I was the best hippopumatist that she had ever seen.

SPEAKER_00

That's a compliment. That's a really compliment. I've never had that kind of break before.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah. Um, how's it going on your end of Michigan, man?

SPEAKER_00

Uh I mean, I'd like it to warm up faster, but aside from that, it's good. Yeah, I'm not complaining too much. It's warm here.

SPEAKER_03

It is warm here on the Monday report in in in in uh Roscom County.

SPEAKER_00

It wasn't too bad this morning. I guess it's like 63 right now. It's gonna go up to 77 today, so it's not too bad right now, but it's just been cold. Like I I did uh I did three back-to-back shows the other day, and it was like 40 degrees. And I just no, nope, can't even I'm not even gonna hypnotize myself to uh to enjoy that kind of weather. That's not it's not worth it.

SPEAKER_03

So you've been a busy guy lately, I will say that. I've been watching the the the content and the shows, and that's where I I first saw your new logo. Um and I thought to myself, oh, that is such a great logo. I gotta I gotta get a get hold of top.

SPEAKER_00

Um project because you know, the Tom Silver Foundation unfortunately went insolvent and uh went belly up and and just didn't work out. We weren't making any money, we were giving too much away. And so um, you know, and that's that's just kind of in the heart of Tom. You know, Tom was that way. He was he did more free sessions, I think, than aid sessions, and uh, you know, he would charge he would charge the celebrities in the higher ups most of the time, you know. If somebody just desperately needed help, he would just help him out. That's just the kind of person that he was. I uh I still wanted to keep the whole legacy going. You know, that's one of the things that we talked about when we dissolved the Tom Silver Foundation was we still want to get this stuff out there. We still want to get his trainings moving forward, the whole idea of scientific hypnosis um being the forefront of the field still, because Tom was so pivotal in this whole thing. Uh and so I I created the Tom Silver Hypnosis Academy to keep that going. And so that's that logo that you saw there.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Um, I saw that, and then of course I went and uh I think you guys have a website now, if I'm not mistaken, because I was looking at that just the other day, or yesterday, as a matter of fact, looks great. Um, and I was just very happy to see that you know you were able to keep that moving, keep that legacy going. Um, you know, every time I had an opportunity to talk to Tom, he was always So terrible and open. I didn't know him well. I knew him if I saw him at a conference. And of course we would have a small conversation here and there, maybe. And then I would go stuff. You know. But he he was he was one of the nice guys. Um he never, you know, at his level, at his peak of success, right? You know, that didn't really diminish as he got older. Everybody, you know, his his mind didn't dull at all.

SPEAKER_00

No, up to the until the very end. I mean, one of the last times I I I talked to him was when Israel and I went out and saw him because right after, it seemed like right after we had left, he declined rapidly. But we saw him. Three weeks before he passed away, we were out at his house just hanging out with him. And of course, Tom and Tom Fashion wanted to continue training us and teaching us and making sure that we had everything we needed to keep his legacy going and to make sure that you know we have a deal with Suzanne, his wife, and so making sure that we we take care of her and look out for her in that same way. And um But we we were just going out there to see him before he passed, because we knew he was in hospice. We knew he was only intermittently responding to our messages and our FaceTime calls and all that. And previously to that, we were speaking daily. I mean, Tom and I were on the phone for two hours a day, just about from the time of PHS to um to when he went into hospice. But he was still a goofball even when he went into hospice. I mean, he he literally I called him up one day, he wouldn't answer the phone for anything, and I was starting to get worried about him. I'm like, dude, oh come on, like I hope everything's okay. His wife just said that he was worried or he was uh he was tired or whatever. And then finally, Israel and I bought tickets to go see him. We we didn't tell him at any of this yet. We we but we had bought plane tickets and booked a hotel and rental car and all that kind of stuff, and we decided, all right, we're going. We're going to see him. We're at least gonna go shake his hand one more time, and and that makes the whole trip worth it. And then I finally that that day we booked it, I called him up on FaceTime, and he answers the phone, holding it like this above his head, and like I'm alive! And and he's just like just typical like goofball Tom. But you know, we told him we were going out to just to do some, we said promo shoots. We're gonna go to Fremont Street, do some street hypnosis, do some promo stuff is what we told him. Tim. And he said, Well, since you're coming, we should hang out. And uh I let that be in his court. But we were just I was calling him to tell him, hey, we should get lunch one of the days or something like that, you know. Um to feel like there was any pressure on him to entertain or to do anything like that, but he made sure we were over his house three, four hours a day when we were over there, and it was just really cool. And and he made sure he licensed us and and he gave us, you know, more in-person training and all that kind of stuff. And um, and so I I feel like I I owe it to him to make sure this keeps going because the content is so incredible. I haven't seen anything else like this in the hypnosis world in the way he explained things and the way that he um he just had that passion about what he was talking about, and then he had that heart of just loving people, you know. He um he made sure to keep it as affordable as he could for for even for these doctors who were doing these trainings and things. Um but so I I started doing this this Tom Silver Hypnosis Academy, and my idea for it is, you know, we'll do some in-person trainings too, but I thought, why not do a hybrid to make it more accessible and more affordable so people don't gotta worry about a hotel room, they don't gotta worry about planes, and you know, especially with you know the cheaper planes being you know out of commission now. It's like, well, you know, airlines gonna go up, uh airline fees are gonna go up. But so I I figured, you know, keep it hybrid, make it online, but also um I liked the idea, you know, if it was gonna be online, I've got I mean, I've got like a terabyte of footage from his trainings that he gave in person to these doctors and people, and so I've been going through all of that, and I've been making that usable so people are actually getting trained by Tom, and then I will be in between interjecting, sharing a little bit of nuance and things like that. We'll do breakout rooms on Zoom so people can practice the techniques, we can talk about the different things that were covered, so we'll have like those live moments in you know with me, and then we will also have Tom actually teaching a huge amount of the content because I figure if we're gonna learn Tom Silver hypnosis stuff, we should hear Tom Silver teaching it. You know, it's there's just something special about hearing this super excited, you know, uh far more healthy Tom Silver uh in all of his his mannerisms and everything, and so I figured that's that's the way to go. So that's been uh it's been a labor of love, and it's it's been fun getting to also hear his voice in all of his goofiness uh again in a in that setting.

SPEAKER_03

So awesome. Yeah, the last time I saw him was at PHS. Um just recently before he passed away, and uh he was so nice because I was actually doing an article on I can't remember her name right now, but she was the uh very famous hypnotist back in the 50s and 60s, and she had a club in Los Angeles, and no matter how hard I looked or who I called, I couldn't find the name of the club. And uh Tom Cain, he actually had a glass he had been at that club, and he was giving it to the guys for their their uh I should museum, but he made sure to you know to tell me, he's like, hey, the name of the club was the celebrity club at this one's work, and uh so I was able to find it after that, and you know, he just right there, you know, just that font of information, and because somebody had said, well, Dan's looking for the name of this club, so he made him think of that glass, so then of course he brought it to give to the guys, and that was pretty cool.

SPEAKER_00

And that's that was him, yeah, for sure. He, you know, all the time. He was always on, like, and he was always trying to help people, like however he could. So it was just um, you know, his wife, uh Suzanne, was talking to us one day uh on a call, and she was like, you know, everybody thought Tom had all this money and that we had all this money because he'd done the halftime shows and he'd been on every TV show in the world, and he had his own TV special, and he had like the whole I don't know if you've seen the brainwashed uh documentary that they did on Discovery, but it was incredible. And uh, but he had this whole thing, he was all over the world, but he was so giving that he didn't really leave a huge financial legacy behind. He left his legacy, you know, with us, but he didn't leave much in the way of finances behind. And so that's where it's like, you know, the we wanted to build that up for you know for the family and everything, but um regardless, you know, he he he gave so much away, and you know, he and that was one of the things with me, you know, he he didn't charge me a dime to teach me. You know, we we talked for two hours, three hours a day, and he didn't charge me a dime. He just said, I want you to make sure you actually use this, and make sure you actually teach this, and uh, and I want you to make sure that Suzanne gets her cut of everything you guys do too. And of course, I'm I'm I'm more than honored to do that, but uh, I would have wanted to do that part anyway. But he he was just that way. He just he loved hypnosis so much, he had such a passion for it. Um, and you saw it in everything that he did, whatever he was talking about, he would answer the door. So he answered the door for us, and he looked just like like he was gonna fall over. I mean, he yellow jaundice, you know, just looking like really, really rough in his orange tracksuit. And uh and we'd get up the stairs to his office, and then suddenly he'd he'd be talking about hypnosis just a little bit, and then he'd start getting that energy, and that energy would oh, and grow and grow, and then he'd just be he'd be himself again, and now he's performing almost, and then as he'd feel himself fading at the end, and you saw him just come full circle right back down. Um but that was him all the way, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And that you know, that's one of the things I will say this to back up a little bit. Um the the the part where some people think that everyone has money in hypnosis, and I know that you and I have joked about that, um, that resonates with a lot of people, uh myself, because for a while there there was a rumor going around that I was a holistic millionaire because you know it's like, well, Dan goes to all the conferences, he's got this and that, and I'm like, yeah, I'm just kicking big bags of money out of my right away.

SPEAKER_01

Right?

SPEAKER_03

But yeah, it's and you saw that, I mean, with a lot of people, especially Tom, you know, just think about that character knowing that he wasn't well, um he still came to be agent, you know, uh and he still was on and off and was able to connect with you in Israel and just make it happen so it's it's it's always good when you don't leave something behind, you know, and we've seen that happen. Someone passes away and the legacy is just gone. Right. Um and you think to yourself, well, I carry that on. You know what I mean? Um even though it's gonna probably as as you move forward, you know, the work's gonna change, it's gonna grow, it's gonna evolve, but it's still gonna be there. So which would be cool.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, absolutely. Well, and you know, it's it's one of these two I think it's I I think because there there have been other trainers that I've heard of, they shall remain nameless. I will not name drop, but uh there have been other trainers that I've heard of, and a lot of trainers are they're charging a whole lot more than Tom did. They they didn't have the same notoriety that Tom did or the same level of expertise that he did. They actually studied under him, and then after he passed, they said, Well, maybe I can now teach the ERT stuff, and I, you know, it It's like, well, no, actually, actually, we we have a couple more of us are licensed, we'll teach it. You still teach your stuff, but you know, um, you know, I saw a lot of people trying to capitalize on his death after he passed. There's a couple people again will remain nameless, and uh it it it it just it frustrated me, and so I wanted to make sure I got this out there, and I figured, you know, I had it all, it's all still being built as far as the whole like back end of things, but it's all ready to go. I could teach this stuff now, you know, right now to you, you know, for only uh a small fee. Um but but uh you know, I I didn't want to right after he died say, Oh, hey, look at me, I still have the certification, I still have the license, I can do this because I didn't want it to be like a hey Tom died and now I can I can capitalize on that death. I thought that was uh a little bit seeing some other people doing that. And um and so I wanted to give it enough time and space, and I also wanted to put it together nicely so that he would be like if he was looking down and seeing this, he'd go, Yeah, that's the vision. That's what I wanted, you know? And um and so I announced it all on the anniversary of his death. I figured, you know that that way it's it's like, okay, it's been a year. Here we go. We've got this moving now, we've got Tom back in the spotlight. We want to keep him uh where he belongs and in history with all of that.

SPEAKER_03

So I will not be looking down on anyone. Most likely I will be looking up.

SPEAKER_01

Um what you're looking up at.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Uh not a whole I mean I know, you know, you're what Scottish.

SPEAKER_03

I I our our fire department priests used to have a joke, he said, well, the thing about hell is you tend to know most of the people, so you'll be fine.

SPEAKER_01

Um when you're looking up, just maybe be wary of Scotland, you know. I don't know if you want to see the kilts or not, but yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I'm good, I'm I'm I'm good with the kilts. Um so but I will say this. I first of all, where can they find the Tom Silver Foundation? I know it's online.

SPEAKER_00

Well, Tom Silver Foundation is gone, but the Tom Silver Hypnosis Academy, um, you can go, I I will share a link with you. Um it's so I if you go to Tom Silver Hypnosis Academy.com as of right this minute, it'll take you to a 404 error, which is not how you sign up for uh an online training course. 404, it's it's not no, it's not what you want to see. But um I do have it's it's uh it's forward slash online dash ERT dash training. So I'll send that over to you, and I'm gonna get that that landing page built out today. That's on my to-do list, um, just to make it easier to all just kind of redirect, but I'll throw that into the the uh the chat or whatever here.

SPEAKER_03

And um so tough sometimes, isn't it? You know, you're you're putting that website together, you're putting that landing page together, and you know, I've I've done it, you've done it, and we just know that technology is our buddy, um, and sometimes it's not.

SPEAKER_00

So Yeah, it's just I thought, you know, I I would rather I'd have I this these pages look good enough to publish to have them out there. I just wanted to make sure I had something for his the anniversary of his death to get out there and share it and make sure that people had it um so they could see his face, so they could see this is coming. It's coming July 27th is is day one of this uh first group. Um it will it it it's not gonna be one of these self-guided uh courses like you see a lot of the you know, I have no shade toward those at all. I think those are fantastic. Um I love the idea of self-guided. Maybe there'll be something like that in the future with some of his training stuff, but um I think I I wanna keep it fairly live and and in as much focused, you know. I want to see people's cameras on during the training. You know, I wanna I'm gonna be there right there together with you, and um and we'll do that whole week. It'll be five days of uh learning and perfecting those skills, and it's lifetime access to it's it's not like you know, if you if you don't get what you needed the first time around or you forgot something later on or whatever, yes, you were certified, but you can't remember this thing. Um if you want to go back through it after you've gone through it once, you're already in. You've already paid, you get to do it again. You know, you've got access to um there's a back-end community that will come about with this as well. Where you will have other people who are going through the course, other people who have gone through the course. We're all in a community together, we're all gonna have discussions, we'll have other clips and stuff from the Tom Silver Vault, you know, little uh little snippets from TV shows and things like that that'll be available to watch on there, um, and all that kind of stuff. But all of that, because I think, and that was one of the things that Tom was really big on is you know, sometimes people would pay for a course and then something comes up, you got a family emergency, and you can't make that course. Well, he would give a full refund. And um, and a lot of these other trainers I know that are out there again that shall be re remain nameless, um, they don't even let you put that toward a next training. You know, it it ends up being you paid for this seat, but you lost it, so now you gotta pay again. And in the future. And I I I like I want to keep it as as close to what Tom would want as possible. Um, but so you're you're in for a lifetime, you know, if if um you it's not just the one week of training. You can do every single online training, and then if when we do an in-person training, I'm I'm working on putting together a training sometime in Vegas where it'll be in person. And actually, you know, people can come in and and learn this stuff, and it's it's really geared toward scientific minds, it's geared toward doctors, neurologists, psychologists, and so on. Um, and those are the people that in this training where you watch Tom deliver these trainings, um, those are the people he was teaching there. So all the questions that they're asking, and the reason I'm using all that footage is they're asking all the questions I'm not smart enough to ask. And so they know all of the details behind the neurological components of all of this stuff. And so he had experts there, and he was training these people, and he was letting them interject and learning from them at the same time that he was teaching, and I thought that was just really profound. Um, but so getting that full access uh to to having it forever. If you pay, you've got it, you can come back to it. You can you can come back and re-watch just one day, you can come in just for the community. You so it's uh it's really, really valuable, I think. And then anybody who ends up going into a um if they've if they've gone through this training online with me, they will end up getting to go to any in-person trainings for half-off. So because in person there's a different level of cost to it. You can't just give that away lifetime because you have to book the room for the training, you have to have all the equipment and the travel costs, and that's why I wanted to have it online, is so that you don't have to worry about all that. But for those that really want to, it uh when we do that in person, I want to make sure that they're not just having to pay all over again for all of it, it's just really covering costs for them.

SPEAKER_04

Oh yeah, I'm I'm I'm well aware of booking rooms.

SPEAKER_00

I know. I was looking into it and I was like, holy crap, how does Dan do this? These are so expensive. How do you uh oh I don't I don't want this anymore?

SPEAKER_03

Um so but I will say about the self-guided courses, you were talking about that, um, and keeping it live and fresh and being right there. I love that idea because I will say that there were several courses I took. I think uh social psychology and research and psychology and methodology when I was uh going through self-guided on the centrist or I think it is. And you could never get a hold of the instructor. It was like pulling teeth to get a hold of the instructor. So I love the whole, you know what, I'm on this journey with you. Um that's important. So that just I think that brings in that extra value because they're not just you know on their own. You're there, you're you know, putting it.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, totally.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it gives me a chance to pause.

SPEAKER_00

Pause at certain points and and share tidbits of what Tom specifically said about these pieces, right? What he just said there, this is what Tom shared with me directly, and um, and his thoughts on this, and maybe some of his thoughts changed between this point and this point, but it's still the same basic principles, but he had a different way of explaining it. I like to give all of that. Um, and I'm also gonna put out there that this isn't one of those where it's like, because you know, there's the weekend certification course, right? Where everybody gets a certificate just for paying and showing up. And this isn't one of those. That's one of the reasons I wanted it to be a lifetime access piece, is because if you don't pass the test, you're not getting a certificate. But you can take the course as many times as you need to. You can take the test, you know, schedule with me, we'll take the test again until you get it. Once I see that you've got it, you get that certification. But I want you to to leave it knowing that you know, because I think that's where sometimes these these courses get it wrong, is we feel bad not giving a certif a certificate or a certification or whatever you want, and but because they've spent all this money. Well, well, true. But you know what? You can spend all kinds of money on a nice new car, and if you don't have a license that you pass the test to drive it, you're not gonna get to drive it. So I want people to be confident and know that they've got the skills.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I will say this on that, uh, being an educator myself. Uh, if they go into it knowing, I mean, if that's on your syllabus, it's in your class, you know, you're requiring proficiency in a passing grade, and they go into it with knowing that, uh, and there's no surprise that again, that's still value, that's still transparency, that's still ethical and honest. Um, you know, because I remember way back uh getting your ACLS card uh as a fire medic. Uh if you failed, you didn't get the card, and you needed the card to work. And so it was this huge stress. Um you know, it's like you just bored over studying, so you knew it was gonna go. Uh then they started with reciprocation. Okay, we're gonna get you through this. Um, you will get qualified, but we'll know that you know what you're doing. Doing what you're doing and doing it that way, that anxiety isn't there.

SPEAKER_01

And that's really well and the other piece to it too is you know I want everyone to pass it.

SPEAKER_00

First time, so I better do a really good job of making sure the information's put out there, right? And and it's not that I want them to. The first time because I want them to just keep coming back. Because I'm not making extra money for them keeping and coming back. That's not the idea. But I want people leaving that training feeling so good about it that they think, oh, this is the best training I've ever had. Right. And I'm going to be going through one of the things I love that Tom did too is he utilized these techniques with his group. So he would hypnotize the group and he would give them the instructions and the suggestions and whatever you want to call them to be more and more proficient and more and more receptive to the information. And more like he would he would do those when he would show them a technique, he would let them experience it. And then he would give them a quick session. 20-minute session. And then he'd bring them all out and continue his lessons. And he'd do that sort of thing. And I think that sort of thing goes a long way for learning. We obviously know that hypnosis is great for helping with memory retention and um and and learning improvements and performance enhancement and all those things. And so um I think we as trainers should use it in our trainings. Uh and Tom definitely did. And we will too, you know, in these courses. I will be making sure that I give every single person who goes through this training will also get a private session with me. But um, but they will they will get the group session right there on the Zoom call. We'll do a group session, we'll do as we're getting into it, uh, and uh, you know, start of each day, we'll do a hypnosis session to help retain, help reinforce and and lock in the things that they'll learn and the things that they already learned, and we'll move forward after that. And and I foresee it being a very successful certification course, personally.

SPEAKER_03

I hope that it is. So, but we're coming up on our time, guys. So I want to thank everyone who joined. If you watch this on the replay after we post it, um please put hashtag replay. And just as a reminder, you're not gonna be seeing this on Facebook live. Uh we're coming to you live from YouTube, live from uh online at the newsroom. You'll see it on Facebook after we post it back up there for various reasons. So uh we want to thank our guest, uh Tommy Girolando, for coming on and talking to us really quick, super short notice on this, by the way, uh, with Tom for the uh Tom Silver Academy. But hey, as always, I hope you are happy, healthy, staying safe, and I'll see you out there.
