Hello, my friend, and welcome back. Today is a very rainy day, so it is such a beautiful opportunity to cozy in and record this podcast. I don't think you can hear the rain outside the window here, but I can, and it sounds so lovely. There's something so very magical about the rain. I was having a Reiki session, um, gosh, was it maybe last week or two weeks ago? And in the middle of the session, the skies opened and it just started pouring, and we hadn't had rain in a very long time. And I just was so excited. And so during the Reiki session, I was thinking, I was like, oh, it feels so good to go and put my feet on the grass and feel this rain. And it's so funny because my client sat up and she said, Oh, she's like, I heard the rain, and the whole time I was thinking, it would feel so good to go inside and feel the rain. And so we were 100% on the same page. Okay, so before we get started today, I do have a few quick announcements. So the first one is we have tons of classes and events coming up. So, so many. Yesterday, when I sat down to record this podcast, every time I got like a portion of the way through, something happened and I had to stop recording to the point where I started it probably 15 times. I recorded it so many times that eventually I was like, no, it's not meant to be. For whatever reason, I am not meant to finish this recording today. And I started thinking, I was like, is this topic just a topic that I am not supposed to be sharing this week? I don't know. I don't know. But I woke up today thinking, okay, maybe I'll switch topics. And I decided to go ahead and pull my card for today to share with you on the podcast. And the card that came from my deck was the exact same topic that I was trying to talk about yesterday. So I know for sure that this is the topic that I am meant to share and talk about today. But for whatever reason, I am meant to record today and I was not meant to record yesterday. I don't know. I don't know. But here we are, we're doing it, and I can't wait to talk about this because this is without a doubt one of my absolute all-time favorite things to talk about. It is the cornerstone of what we do here at Sanctuary. Okay, so I suppose I will go ahead and share the Oracle card that I pulled from my deck, and hopefully it will be a good segue into our conversation. Okay, so today's card is titled Belief Shapes Reality. What you believe becomes the lens through which you live. This card arrives as a truth mirror. Your reality is responding to your beliefs more than your actions. If you believe you're not worthy of abundance, love, or ease, you'll find evidence everywhere. But if you believe you're deeply supported, chosen, and capable, that belief becomes magnetic. Your beliefs create your emotional state. Your emotional state informs your choices, your choices build your life. This isn't bypassing, it's power. Belief isn't about pretending, it's about choosing the story you're living from, and you get to write it. So that's exactly what we're gonna talk about today. And understanding this is truly the key to transforming your life. Okay, so let's dive deeper into the realm of beliefs. Sometimes healing, manifestation, and personal growth or even life itself can feel so incredibly frustrating, right? Have you ever found yourself saying affirmations every day like I am worthy, I'm abundant, I trust myself? And even though you're so dedicated to these affirmations, nothing really changes for you. And so you wonder, you're like, why is this not working? The truth is, is that affirmations often take a really long time to work simply because often they're competing with beliefs that have been running your life for an incredibly long time, and a lot of times we don't even know what those beliefs are, or we don't even know that they're there. So think about it. If you've spent your life subconsciously believing that you're not enough, or you have to earn love, or that love isn't safe, or that you have to work harder than everyone else, or that life is a struggle, who knows what it is? Then a few minutes of affirmations every single day, or even an entire day worth of affirmations, are trying to override beliefs that have been reinforced within you over and over and over and over for decades, decades. The belief is stronger. And here's the thing: these beliefs they don't come out of just nowhere, they come from your experiences. So things that happened in childhood or things that you witnessed growing up or expectations that were placed on you, or times that you were hurt, or if you believe in past lives or other lifetimes, they can come from there. Wherever they come from, those beliefs they weren't created from nothing, they were created from your experience, and so they were there to help you survive. And so they have a point and they have a purpose. Like maybe you started believing that you had to be perfect in order to avoid criticism, or you had to take care of everyone so that you could feel safe, or you believed that you shouldn't speak up because that protected you from conflict. These beliefs are so foundational to helping us move through life. However, there comes a point where that belief keeps you stuck, or that belief keeps you from the relationship that you're desiring, or that belief keeps you from loving your body, or maybe it keeps you from starting the business, or speaking your truth, or setting boundaries, or choosing to follow the nudges of your soul. The very thing that once protected you is now maybe limiting you. And the hardest thing is that you don't know what it is, you don't know what the belief is, and you don't know where it comes from. True transformation and true alchemy isn't about just forcing the positive, it's not about forcing that positive on top of pain or hurt or emotion or thoughts or beliefs that are buried within you. It's about finding the root. And so I often explain it to people like this. Beliefs create thoughts, thoughts create emotion, emotion creates energy, energy influences actions, and actions create experiences, and then experiences reinforce our beliefs. Do you see how that's a big cycle? I know that's a lot of information, so let's break it down with an example. So imagine somebody carries the deep-rooted belief of I'm not good enough. And so that core belief that they may not know is even there creates thoughts like, what if I fail? What if people judge me? Why would anyone choose me? And those thoughts create emotions within them like fear, doubt, insecurity. And those emotions create an energetic state. And that energy is reflected in our body language, how we speak, how we carry ourselves out in the world. And that's reflected in our actions and our choices. And so maybe they procrastinate or they avoid certain opportunities, or they don't put themselves out there, or they settle for less than they deserve. And so all of those actions and your energy and your thoughts and your beliefs and your emotions, they create the reality that you experience. So maybe they experience relationships that don't align or goals that are left unfinished. And all of this just reaffirms that core belief of, see, I knew I wasn't good enough. And that cycle continues. But what if they had a different belief? What if they had a different core belief of I am supported by life? And that belief created thoughts like this can work or I can handle this, or I'm willing to try. And those thoughts create emotions like hope and trust and excitement. And those emotions create an energy that feels open and receptive and empowered. And that energy inspires different actions like taking chances or speaking up or trying something new or trusting yourself. And those actions create different experiences like opportunities, connection, growth, and that reinforces that belief. So do you see how powerful this is? And I find that so many people try and change their experience first, or they try and change their physical reality first, or they try and change their thoughts first. But typically the truth is we have to work with the beliefs, and there are so many ways that I help you move through this. So if this is a really new concept to you and you feel like you're still very much in survival mode, I would personally probably recommend Reiki because Reiki helps you begin to feel safe enough to soften out of survival and there's no talking and you don't have to figure anything out. It is so gentle but so powerful because if the body feels safe, then you feel safe enough to go deeper and to explore and to get to that root.
