Ep #53 - The True Way To Worship - Amos

Bolton, Jordy & Neil

“Away with your noisy hymns of praise! I will not listen to the music of your harps. Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice,
an endless river of righteous living.”
~ ‭‭Amos‬ ‭5‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As Christian’s its easy to get stuck in the rhythm and routine of going to church; serving; hearing the sermon; saying the occasional amen then standing up to pray at the end and leaving.
Now there’s nothing particularly WRONG with all this and doing it habitually, unless of course, our hearts are far from God and our intentions are disingenuous and self seeking.

Unfortunately this is how the Church has started to act over the last few decades and yet the Bible, such as the minor prophet book of Amos, highlights to us that it’s really not that new of an issue for people of faith, that the same excuses or ‘reasons’ for our insincerity are all recycled garbage but most intriguingly, that God is very much aware of and appalled by our complacent, luke warm, (kaka poopoo) attitude.

Tune in this episode as the boys breakdown the Book of Amos and discuss how they found it to be not only very relevant for todays Church (with a capital C) but also one of the more interesting and yet confronting books in all the Old Testament.
