This Episode the boys sit down to discuss the obvious yet very controversial topic of Christmas. Controversial only in recent decades as, one could argue, what used to be a 'Christian' holiday, is now very much secular and non-religious. This includes the way we celebrate, the symbols, the songs, the trees, the lights, the traditions etc. The biggest issue though is that, this argument is very much valid and truthful as unfortunately, the church has gone away from biblical doctrine (To 'not conform to the patterns of this world...' - Rom 12:1), consequentially there really is no obvious difference as to how the "Church" celebrates Christmas and the rest of the world does.
This unsettling truth raises a few questions then...
- What is the true meaning of Christmas? Is there a definite answer?
- Should Christians celebrate Christmas like the world e.g. Christmas Trees, Santa, Reindeer, Elves, Gift Giving etc
- What does the Bible say about Christmas and/or Celebrations
- What, if any, Christmas Traditions are acceptable/unacceptable?
- Should we celebrate on the 25th December?
These questions have sadly divided the Church and it's members overtime and as a result, this division has only led to an increase of attacks from not only the enemy but also the secular non-believing world on the true purpose of Christianity in Western Society.
So tune in this episode as the boys give you their answers to these questions whilst also discussing how Christmas was celebrated in their homes as kids and what it looks like now!
