But my content for going to"},{"startTime":141.442,"endTime":144.874,"body":"be tailored now to the travel industry, which I'm super excited"},{"startTime":144.922,"endTime":148.346,"body":"about. That is really exciting. I'm so happy for you when I saw you announcing"},{"startTime":148.378,"endTime":152.218,"body":"that because like I've definitely done that with services or with groups"},{"startTime":152.234,"endTime":156.026,"body":"of people that I'm talking to. Of survival, honestly, for content, because"},{"startTime":192.426,"endTime":195.596,"body":"content is a beast. And I think so many times like we"},{"startTime":195.668,"endTime":199.02,"body":"forget that in businesses people are literally"},{"startTime":199.1,"endTime":202.716,"body":"hired a marketing department to market our business"},{"startTime":202.788,"endTime":206.332,"body":"to create content. But yet when you are a small business owner or"},{"startTime":206.356,"endTime":210.076,"body":"solopreneur, you are doing marketing, you're doing customer service, you're doing"},{"startTime":210.148,"endTime":213.836,"body":"all of the things. So like I said, I started"},{"startTime":217.78,"endTime":221.37,"body":"out as a VA and a lot of my work was"},{"startTime":221.41,"endTime":225.034,"body":"actually writing emails for my clients and obviously"},{"startTime":225.082,"endTime":228.682,"body":"not being them and sometimes not being in their field, I'm like, okay, I have"},{"startTime":228.706,"endTime":232.506,"body":"to write an email to their subscribers. What am I going to write about?"},{"startTime":232.658,"endTime":235.674,"body":"So instead of starting from scratch or like having to pull them into a meeting,"},{"startTime":235.762,"endTime":239.45,"body":"I would go onto their socials, their freebies, their websites and I would find"},{"startTime":239.49,"endTime":243.05,"body":"the content and repurpose it. And this takes me so much"},{"startTime":243.09,"endTime":245.788,"body":"time. I would send it off to the client and were like, oh my gosh,"},{"startTime":245.804,"endTime":248.76,"body":"this is perfect. This sounds just like family. Well, because it is you."},{"startTime":249.7,"endTime":253.212,"body":"So it's just taking that idea that you could take a piece of"},{"startTime":253.236,"endTime":256.908,"body":"content and, you know, reuse it for different platforms just by"},{"startTime":256.964,"endTime":260.604,"body":"putting a new spin on it, but keeping the core topic intact."},{"startTime":260.732,"endTime":264.556,"body":"Oh, I love that. So in thinking about, even when it comes to SEO,"},{"startTime":264.588,"endTime":268.156,"body":"and I'd love to hear your thoughts too, on how repurposing these"},{"startTime":268.228,"endTime":272.076,"body":"content pieces can help us is like if we're thoughtful with one piece"},{"startTime":272.108,"endTime":275.58,"body":"of content and you have automatically, whether or not you"},{"startTime":275.62,"endTime":279.452,"body":"realize it, you have some keywords in there, you have some"},{"startTime":279.636,"endTime":283.34,"body":"main point in there. And if you can have that on one place and then"},{"startTime":283.38,"endTime":287.08,"body":"take it across wherever you are talking to people online,"},{"startTime":287.46,"endTime":291.212,"body":"there's just this, like, through line. But what else do you maybe notice when it"},{"startTime":291.236,"endTime":295.068,"body":"comes to content repurposing and SEO? Like you said,"},{"startTime":295.124,"endTime":298.694,"body":"like taking those keywords that go from a blog,"},{"startTime":298.742,"endTime":302.438,"body":"let's say, are typically the same keywords that could be found through"},{"startTime":302.494,"endTime":306.07,"body":"Instagram and especially through Pinterest as well. There's usually like a very good"},{"startTime":306.11,"endTime":309.19,"body":"correlation there. So absolutely. Like, that"},{"startTime":309.23,"endTime":313.078,"body":"optimization, that's actually one of like the pieces of like, my"},{"startTime":313.134,"endTime":316.758,"body":"strategy is optimizing for the platform that you're moving a piece of content"},{"startTime":316.814,"endTime":320.134,"body":"to. So it just works so well. For sure."},{"startTime":320.302,"endTime":323.622,"body":"Yeah, I know a little bit later we're going to walk through an example,"},{"startTime":323.686,"endTime":327.468,"body":"but what do you notice are some of the things that you're able"},{"startTime":327.524,"endTime":331.276,"body":"to pull from one platform and use on something else. And if that doesn't"},{"startTime":331.308,"endTime":334.428,"body":"make sense, I can give an example. Yes. Example."},{"startTime":334.604,"endTime":338.06,"body":"Okay. Because I'm doing this a lot with"},{"startTime":338.1,"endTime":341.916,"body":"myself this year in Q1 when it comes to the podcast,"},{"startTime":341.948,"endTime":345.772,"body":"for example, I plug everything into my podcast platform. I use"},{"startTime":345.796,"endTime":349.516,"body":"buzzsprout. I'm able to take the title that I've been really thoughtful"},{"startTime":349.548,"endTime":353.282,"body":"about with the focus keyword and use it as the blog post title."},{"startTime":353.396,"endTime":356.79,"body":"Potentially even use that as the email"},{"startTime":356.91,"endTime":360.23,"body":"subject line or something like that. So that's one thing that I'm able to like,"},{"startTime":360.27,"endTime":363.926,"body":"copy paste all across. Is there anything like that that you see? Yeah."},{"startTime":363.958,"endTime":367.206,"body":"Oh, I love that. So, yeah, I would definitely say, like that, like, title part."},{"startTime":367.278,"endTime":370.45,"body":"And then usually the call to action is about the same."},{"startTime":370.75,"endTime":374.582,"body":"Just constantly having that common thread. Okay, what is the purpose"},{"startTime":374.646,"endTime":378.374,"body":"of this piece of content and pulling that throughout. So, yeah, I would definitely"},{"startTime":378.422,"endTime":382.21,"body":"say the title. The call to action. I like"},{"startTime":382.25,"endTime":385.602,"body":"that idea. Another one that I was thinking about just in case anyone listening is"},{"startTime":385.626,"endTime":389.346,"body":"like, what else? The image title. The image title. I actually"},{"startTime":389.418,"endTime":393.186,"body":"also use, sticking with this podcast example, for the podcast"},{"startTime":393.218,"endTime":396.61,"body":"thumbnail and then the blog post, thumbnail, same image, same title"},{"startTime":396.69,"endTime":400.498,"body":"oftentimes. And then I usually will take that same image title"},{"startTime":400.514,"endTime":404.29,"body":"and use that as the URL slug for the blog post. So there's just like"},{"startTime":404.33,"endTime":407.906,"body":"so many things that we have, and I'm sure we're just like scratching the surface"},{"startTime":407.938,"endTime":411.294,"body":"over here of what you have and then how you can, like, copy paste it"},{"startTime":411.302,"endTime":415.022,"body":"with other things. Oh, yeah, 1,000%. And like, I feel like the more"},{"startTime":415.046,"endTime":417.982,"body":"you do it, the more you find that, like, oh, I could just reuse. That"},{"startTime":418.006,"endTime":421.678,"body":"again and again, especially for seeing results with it too, if you're"},{"startTime":421.694,"endTime":425.502,"body":"seeing traffic with that title, like, absolutely. And"},{"startTime":425.606,"endTime":429.198,"body":"usually a podcast title really translates to a email"},{"startTime":429.254,"endTime":433.102,"body":"subject line really well too. Yeah. There's so many things that we can do, and"},{"startTime":433.126,"endTime":436.096,"body":"I feel like it's just kind of like what you were saying with your career"},{"startTime":436.128,"endTime":439.44,"body":"transition with niching down. It's like right under our noses. But we just don't know"},{"startTime":439.48,"endTime":443.008,"body":"until someone calls it out. No, we just don't"},{"startTime":443.024,"endTime":446.688,"body":"know. What are you seeing? Are there a few mistakes or"},{"startTime":446.744,"endTime":450.304,"body":"one mistake that you're seeing business owners making when it comes to repurposing"},{"startTime":450.352,"endTime":453.952,"body":"content? Yes. I would say the biggest thing is. When people hear"},{"startTime":454.056,"endTime":457.872,"body":"repurposing, sometimes they're thinking. I'm talking about copy and pasting from one"},{"startTime":457.896,"endTime":461.712,"body":"platform to be the other. And that's not what it is. So I like to"},{"startTime":461.736,"endTime":465.458,"body":"use this chicken analogy because I'm a big foodie and obviously we're"},{"startTime":465.474,"endTime":469.026,"body":"cooking all the time. And like, let's say you're cooking a Sunday"},{"startTime":469.098,"endTime":472.882,"body":"dinner, right? And you're making chicken and mashed potatoes, the veggie, all"},{"startTime":472.906,"endTime":476.418,"body":"the things. So you're eating that the first night, the next night you're like,"},{"startTime":476.554,"endTime":480.082,"body":"I'm too tired to cook, but we have chicken in the fridge. I don't have"},{"startTime":480.106,"endTime":483.81,"body":"to start from scratch. But let me take that chicken and make"},{"startTime":483.85,"endTime":487.538,"body":"a chicken noodle soup with it. Bam. There you go. You're"},{"startTime":487.634,"endTime":491.236,"body":"taking that chicken and you're not putting leftovers on the table again"},{"startTime":491.308,"endTime":494.532,"body":"as the full meal that you had the night before. You're taking a piece of"},{"startTime":494.556,"endTime":498.308,"body":"chicken. You're creating something new from it. So that is my"},{"startTime":498.364,"endTime":502.02,"body":"way of repurposing is so you're taking a piece of content, you have"},{"startTime":502.06,"endTime":505.876,"body":"originating piece, and you're just kind of like, if you're going big"},{"startTime":505.948,"endTime":509.316,"body":"to small, like I'll say podcasts or blog to social,"},{"startTime":509.468,"endTime":513.076,"body":"like, you're kind of narrowing down that focus, like just taking one"},{"startTime":513.148,"endTime":516.756,"body":"point from that blog post, one point from that Podcast and you are,"},{"startTime":516.828,"endTime":520.348,"body":"you know, divvying it up. Or if you're doing a social post, you're just making"},{"startTime":520.404,"endTime":524.092,"body":"it longer. So you're keeping that core topic, but you're just putting a whole new"},{"startTime":524.116,"endTime":527.532,"body":"spin on it. I love that you bring up a really good point. So you"},{"startTime":527.556,"endTime":531.292,"body":"talked about going, like, social posts on Instagram and then blowing it up"},{"startTime":531.316,"endTime":534.252,"body":"into a blog post or vice versa, and taking a blog and pulling out a"},{"startTime":534.276,"endTime":538.108,"body":"point and putting it on Instagram. Do you feel like there's a best way"},{"startTime":538.164,"endTime":541.692,"body":"to approach. Like, do you feel like one way is better than the other? You"},{"startTime":541.716,"endTime":544.412,"body":"know, I feel about this a lot. I feel like a lot comes down to"},{"startTime":544.436,"endTime":548.024,"body":"preference, and I think it depends on what you prefer to"},{"startTime":548.212,"endTime":552.0,"body":"write. For me, I have a very interesting brain. Like, there are some"},{"startTime":552.04,"endTime":555.696,"body":"topics. Like, I could start with a blog and I could"},{"startTime":555.768,"endTime":559.552,"body":"write all day. So some days, like, blogs just flow out of me, and other"},{"startTime":559.576,"endTime":563.328,"body":"times I'm like, oh, I'll start small and go big. For some people, they"},{"startTime":563.384,"endTime":567.2,"body":"just despise writing. I know a lot of people like that. So for them,"},{"startTime":567.24,"endTime":570.992,"body":"it's easier to start with a shorter piece of content, like"},{"startTime":571.016,"endTime":574.852,"body":"an email or social post, and then expand on it."},{"startTime":574.936,"endTime":578.444,"body":"And there's just so many ways of doing that. Because I really feel like"},{"startTime":578.612,"endTime":582.3,"body":"for so long, people were saying people don't like to learn things on Instagram or,"},{"startTime":582.34,"endTime":586.076,"body":"you know, like, education. Instead, I'm like, well, I don't necessarily think that's"},{"startTime":586.108,"endTime":589.9,"body":"true. I think it's changed. But people are still looking for information, and you"},{"startTime":589.94,"endTime":593.372,"body":"need more than just three lines, you know, for a lot of what we do."},{"startTime":593.396,"endTime":597.036,"body":"Like, you can't explain SEO in, like, three sentences on Instagram"},{"startTime":597.068,"endTime":600.902,"body":"post. You need the blog post to explain these complex topics. So,"},{"startTime":600.926,"endTime":604.39,"body":"yeah, I would say start with the type of content that you like"},{"startTime":604.43,"endTime":608.166,"body":"to write and then just kind of go and challenge yourself."},{"startTime":608.358,"endTime":612.166,"body":"Yeah. And even you're making me think about the different types of ways"},{"startTime":612.198,"endTime":615.862,"body":"that we could express ourselves. So some people don't like writing. Do you ever"},{"startTime":615.886,"endTime":619.67,"body":"see, like, video or voice memos or even podcasts, like,"},{"startTime":619.71,"endTime":623.142,"body":"anything like that, where people could start with a different medium and then"},{"startTime":623.246,"endTime":627.024,"body":"repurposing it into a different medium? Does that make sense? Yeah,"},{"startTime":627.072,"endTime":630.88,"body":"no, absolutely. You know, I think it is important, too, like, for"},{"startTime":630.92,"endTime":634.624,"body":"podcasters to have a blog. And again, like, I know some podcasters will"},{"startTime":634.712,"endTime":637.792,"body":"literally just take the show notes and move it over as a blog. And I"},{"startTime":637.816,"endTime":641.648,"body":"mean, like, okay, but kind of, like, finesse it a little bit, because"},{"startTime":641.704,"endTime":645.312,"body":"you're going to have different types of Consumers out there. Some"},{"startTime":645.336,"endTime":648.512,"body":"people like to watch, some people like to listen, some people like to read, some"},{"startTime":648.536,"endTime":652.032,"body":"people like short, long. So I think that it is important to"},{"startTime":652.056,"endTime":655.29,"body":"have those different variations there to help"},{"startTime":655.33,"endTime":658.97,"body":"people. Now I might be jumping ahead of myself, like don't hear that and"},{"startTime":659.01,"endTime":662.602,"body":"get completely overwhelmed. I'm like, you want me to be everywhere? No,"},{"startTime":662.786,"endTime":666.554,"body":"don't do that. You're going to stress yourself out. So again, I think a"},{"startTime":666.562,"endTime":670.41,"body":"lot comes down to like your kinda style. If you are a video person,"},{"startTime":670.53,"endTime":674.122,"body":"make your long form content YouTube. If you are a"},{"startTime":674.146,"endTime":677.882,"body":"talker, do a podcast. The only non negotiable I say"},{"startTime":677.906,"endTime":681.49,"body":"is email marketing. Like I think everyone needs email marketing and then"},{"startTime":681.53,"endTime":685.09,"body":"like one social platform that again you're comfortable on. If you don't like"},{"startTime":685.13,"endTime":688.786,"body":"video, you don't like Instagram, then like leave it, go to thread"},{"startTime":688.898,"endTime":692.146,"body":"LinkedIn, like find the place that you're happy with and where your people hang"},{"startTime":692.178,"endTime":695.938,"body":"out. So that's what I call the holy trio. Like it. Like I'll"},{"startTime":695.954,"endTime":699.49,"body":"say social platform, but I really just mean like short form content, long"},{"startTime":699.53,"endTime":702.994,"body":"form content and email marketing. Get those three and you're"},{"startTime":703.042,"endTime":706.162,"body":"set. I love it. Tell us a little bit more about why you feel so"},{"startTime":706.186,"endTime":709.522,"body":"strongly about email marketing because I could make a guess. I definitely agree with you,"},{"startTime":709.546,"endTime":713.122,"body":"but I want to hear what you have to share. It's what we've always heard"},{"startTime":713.186,"endTime":716.29,"body":"that like that's like the one place where you have direct access to your"},{"startTime":716.33,"endTime":720.098,"body":"subscribers. And I forget where. I've listened to a podcast last"},{"startTime":720.154,"endTime":723.922,"body":"week and it was something along the lines of the people who subscribe"},{"startTime":723.986,"endTime":727.554,"body":"to your email, they want to hear from you. Like they"},{"startTime":727.642,"endTime":731.25,"body":"opted in. They're like, hey, I want to hear from you. And so many times"},{"startTime":731.29,"endTime":733.618,"body":"we're like, oh, I don't want to bother them. Like I don't want to email"},{"startTime":733.674,"endTime":737.17,"body":"every week. I don't want to be a pain. I'm like no, those people"},{"startTime":737.21,"endTime":740.65,"body":"signed up, they knew what they were doing like they can always"},{"startTime":740.69,"endTime":744.506,"body":"unsubscribe. But you're not battling an algorithm. Yes,"},{"startTime":744.618,"endTime":748.234,"body":"email deliverability is changing, but I still feel like it's the easiest"},{"startTime":748.282,"endTime":751.93,"body":"way to get a hold of our people. Yeah, I"},{"startTime":751.97,"endTime":755.69,"body":"couldn't agree with you more. And I've even so, the whole my Q1"},{"startTime":755.73,"endTime":759.434,"body":"thing with approaching content and writing emails first is because I realized"},{"startTime":759.482,"endTime":762.89,"body":"that that needs to be my non negotiable just like you said, because I get"},{"startTime":762.93,"endTime":766.692,"body":"sales there, I can nurture people, I get tons of responses and"},{"startTime":766.716,"endTime":769.748,"body":"it may even be someone reads the email and then Comes over and like, leaves"},{"startTime":769.764,"endTime":773.492,"body":"a voice memo for me on Instagram. It's really fun. And so I feel"},{"startTime":773.516,"endTime":777.16,"body":"like it's a great place of connection. It's a great place of conversion."},{"startTime":777.5,"endTime":780.788,"body":"And I love the fact that now that I've done it for a few weeks,"},{"startTime":780.844,"endTime":783.972,"body":"I can take the email and repurpose it as a blog post. With SEO in"},{"startTime":783.996,"endTime":787.508,"body":"there, I think it's just. It's definitely become one of my easier"},{"startTime":787.604,"endTime":790.922,"body":"workflows. But I would love to know, how does email"},{"startTime":791.026,"endTime":794.842,"body":"play into content repurposing? Like, and we'll walk through an example in just"},{"startTime":794.866,"endTime":798.522,"body":"a little bit. But, like, where might we be doing that? Like, would other"},{"startTime":798.546,"endTime":802.138,"body":"people benefit from writing emails first or should they leave that as email"},{"startTime":802.194,"endTime":805.77,"body":"writing last? For me, I tend to use"},{"startTime":805.81,"endTime":809.258,"body":"it last in the way of, like, I"},{"startTime":809.314,"endTime":813.034,"body":"typically end up writing a social post or a blog post first and then I"},{"startTime":813.122,"endTime":816.858,"body":"do the email. Um, that's just how my brain works. And it actually has worked"},{"startTime":816.874,"endTime":820.4,"body":"out really well.
