Cold Open And Wild Movie Pitch
SPEAKER_01What's good everybody? Welcome to the I'm Just Saying podcast with your boy, Mr.
SPEAKER_00Hi. And Buck. Hello. Thank you so much for tuning in. We appreciate you listening to Shut up, Buck.
SPEAKER_01It's time to start the show. You're killing my high. I gotta go. I'm trying to thank the fans or not. No, I'm releasing y'all. What's good? Welcome to the I'm Just Saying podcast with your boy. Hi. What's up, Buck? What's up? What's up? How you doing? It's funny that I can say hi and my name is Hi, so I can always just start the show off of a high.
SPEAKER_00A high as the high. How's your week been, buddy? It's cool. I want to watch a new movie called The Bride. No one cares. Wait, wait, the bride? Yeah. It's like a Frankenstein monster's uh bride. You know Frankenstein? No. So Frankenstein is a doctor, right? And then he creates the monster, and then the monster gets called Frankenstein's monster. And then the monster gets lonely. Because he's a loser. So he gets a w he wants a wife. So he was just like by himself? Yeah, for like 130 years or something like that. And then he wants he wants that carnal desires. He's feeling the feistiness, but he's got no wife. So he has to make himself a wife. And he has no pickle. He does have a pickle. How does he have a pickle? Well, because he's like, they they put them together with different body parts. Is the pickle black? We don't know.
SPEAKER_01Who the fuck picks out the pickle and sells it on? Did the doctor sell on the pickle? The doctor suit it on, yeah. Did you see the pickle?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_01Then how do you know he has a pickle?
SPEAKER_00Well, because they be in the movie? In the movie. You don't see anything. This is not a porno, right? But you get to you get the the idea of what's going on. What kind of shit do you just say I'm gonna go and watch? It's not even that bad. I'm just you're just taking it incredibly wrong. But it's it was not even like that.
SPEAKER_02I feel like I took the movie exactly how the movie was laid out.
SPEAKER_00No, it's not the movie is a it sounds incredibly fucked up.
SPEAKER_01It's a Bonnie and Clyde story, if you know who Bonnie and Clyde is. There's no way this has Bonnie and Clyde definition. Bonnie and Clyde was two hustlers, Bonnie and Clyde.
SPEAKER_00So, so but I mean Sounds like one nigga got long. It's inspiration by it. It's it's it's like a different bunch of different genres mixed together. It's like a cat and mouse detective type of uh story. It has a Bonnie and Clyde type of storyline to it, it has a romance story, it's a little bit of gore, and then you have the crazy doctor obviously doing experiments and crap like that. Is it just fumbled? It just fumbled.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I I bet it fumbled. I just have a thousand questions since you're the only one that watched it. Is the what is is like Frankenstein's wife, was she alive during that era where people will recognize her?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And she lost her memories and now she's his wife.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like she completely she died. So they brought her back.
SPEAKER_01But gave her to a new person.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, basically, it's like, oh, he wants a wife, so they just go searching for bodies and they just find her because she's like the freshest body in the in the cemetery, basically.
SPEAKER_01That's so wild. I could see how this flopped. I could tell you how this flopped. That is a crazy way to start this fucking episode.
SPEAKER_00There was a good story there. It's just they they didn't they couldn't land it.
SPEAKER_01The one time you have something to say on your weekly fucking check-ins is the one time I can't even utter a sentence out of your weekly fucking check-ins. I'm done. I don't even know why I ask anymore. I really don't. There's no point of asking anymore. Dude, it got so
Studio Heat And Weekly Check-In
SPEAKER_01hot. I think I just lost the hearing in my left ear.
SPEAKER_00Dude, it's so hot in here. It's so humid. I mean, hot, we could deal with it. Humid, it's so humid. Hella hot in the studio. I'm sweating my hands are sweating and we haven't even started, basically. I know.
SPEAKER_01No, my week's been pretty good. My week's been actually pretty great. I actually, what did I do this week? I just chilled, worked, worked on the podcast, paid some bills, lost some gambling bets, some big gambling bets, just lost another big one just now.
SPEAKER_00He plays more bets.
SPEAKER_01I placed some more bets. I might place another bet tonight. Okay, okay. Now I'm just talking about gambling. Okay, it was a regular day for me, guys. It's the regular, regular week. It wasn't none there. I have no crazy story to give you, which I usually do. I just have no crazy story this time to give y'all no more. I just have nothing. I was pretty pretty chill this week. All right, let's get started on this cold ass uptake.
One Piece Live Action Season Two
SPEAKER_01What's good, everybody? Welcome back to the I'm Just Saying podcast. So, y'all ready for some anime uptake, some anime getting? There ain't really shit on anime. Now, there's a lot. One piece, one piece season two, live action film wrapped up. I finally got to finish watching all of it. I wasn't gonna binge watch it all in one night. I don't have the time for that. They're an hour long, and I really wanted to enjoy each episode. Finally finished it. It was really good. I enjoyed it. I'm gonna give it probably like a seven, maybe an eight, maybe a nine. I don't know. I gotta let it, I gotta let it sit for a while and see how it feels. It definitely ain't a 10 because it's like there were some things that was missing, and then there were some things that weren't perfect, but like all in all, I enjoyed the whole show and I watched it twice. So I could say is a I call that a W success as a live action anime 100%. That is a like that's successful. If you can get someone to rewatch your live action anime twice, you won. Everyone else in the world have everyone else, everyone else lost. Everyone else lost. What did that hit it? Yeah, fucking hit it. I love to hit my mic when I get excited. Curl up the wire. Oh, the wire ain't curled up. That's why. All right, y'all gonna hear my wire curled up. How'd you feel about the anime, Mike? Or Buck?
SPEAKER_00It was cool. I mean, I mean, obviously for adaptations, it goes it went pretty far. I'll probably give it like a like a 7.5 to an 8 out of 10. And I was able, I mean, man, the the second season definitely hit. That that that chopper storyline always hits. So that definitely got me a little tearful.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I got a couple of. I definitely cried. I definitely cried during the chopper. That's during the tears. Yeah, definitely the chopper when I definitely cried. Because like, it's chopper, bro. No, it's just like when I was watching it, I already had something set in my head how I was gonna watch that scene. Like how I was gonna watch the doctor, how I was gonna watch Chopper go get the mushroom, how I was gonna go watch Chopper the Doctor explode. Like, I was like, everything in that scene, I was a hundred percent had something in my head looking at and ready for. How they presented it made me was like, wow, like it was like I loved it. Like, I was like tearful up again because it they hit it in a different way that I wasn't expecting. I thought we were about to go on a whole little scene of Chopper going up on that fucking mountain, going to get the berry, have to do his whole little arc, meeting his dear friends, and hitting the antlers and shit, like everything that the anime gave us. But when they just had him in his office working on the potion, dying, and knowing that he's dying, and when he finally fixes and he yells out Chopper's name and Chopper ain't there, they didn't give us that in the anime, and it was it it hit a lot harder when you already watched the anime. You was like, you didn't even know what the doctor was even doing when Chopper came back with that mushroom. You thought he was just chilling in his house. This man just finished creating the cure and then just Chopper comes in all beat up. That made me really love it. Made me how they protect the main focus of like that arc and how that arc is built, and also hit it their own type of way.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I feel like I feel like for the most part, they they definitely got One Piece spiritually right. Like re-watching the show, or me watching the show, I was kind of like, damn, this really makes me want to go back and watch those earlier seasons because I know I missed out a lot. You know what I mean? Like, I I rewatched and I remember a lot of it.
SPEAKER_01So like how they added characters, like how they added uh, what's his name? Bartholomew?
SPEAKER_00Bartholomew, like early in the season. Early in the season, yeah. It's one of those things where he's not a pirate yet. If you're and it kind of makes sense, if you're watching the live action as your as your basis before you watch the anime, you're not gonna understand it. But if you watch the anime before it, you're kind of like, why are they here so early, right? Because you already know what happens. But at the same time, this is just Oda going back and kind of adding more context.
SPEAKER_01Because like if he thought of if he thought of, I don't think he thought of that character when he came up with this arc.
SPEAKER_00No, but it makes sense why they're all so connected.
SPEAKER_01So now it makes more sense why everything like when Sabo pulled up with Dragon in the background? I feel like that's definitely too early, though. I know it wasn't too early.
SPEAKER_00I mean because we didn't see his face. Dragon, I get, but Sabo, I mean, if you're an anime fan, you're like, whoa, well, this is like a thousand uh episodes too early.
SPEAKER_01Well, remember, remember his reason why he never came and helped out, or never even really because he heard it. I mean, yeah, yeah. Like, I'm not trying to spoil it, but there's a reason. So it makes sense as an anime fan when you see Sabo, you're like, oh shit. And then everyone who hasn't seen it who's a live action fan is like, I wonder who that is. So they still hit the mystery. No, but that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_00Spiritually, you definitely got that one piece right. Because as I was watching it, I'm like, damn, like this this got me hyped, this got me sad, this got me crying. The only, probably the only gripe I had, which is actually just the first season, is the Garp introduction and how they basically spoiled 300 episodes of build-up like right away. And I feel like, oh, you could have definitely waited up until like season three to give me that Garp context because I felt like you got and I gave it to me way too early, and that's really the only thing. Apart from that, you got everything.
SPEAKER_01No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You are right about everything except Garp. Garp, you didn't actually acknowledge and like Garp as much as you did when the anime came out. Like when the anime first came out and you first got introduced to Garp, all you saw was an old guy who can really kill all of us if he really wanted to.
SPEAKER_00Which is why when you actually finally understand what his connection to Luffy is is so much more impactful.
SPEAKER_01It makes more impactful. So then, like, when you bring him on to the show, they don't really have time to like make Garp his own episode and get like the live action fans riled up for Garp, like how we already are. So the best way to do is just do all of the little backstories that you know we don't really need later in the show and bring them all in in the beginning of the series so we could just tell like a little side story with the main quest.
SPEAKER_00I feel like that's why Kobe was such impactful to that aspect. Because even if you don't like, that's why I think the only thing you did there was really rob the people of finding out what Garp connection is to Luffy, which at the end of the day, once you spoil it, you know what I mean? It's kind of like whatever.
SPEAKER_01I also want to congratulate all the actors that took their roles very seriously so they can look exactly like their characters in the show. Like, who's that one girl that you can't punch?
SPEAKER_00The oh, the the yeah, the she's like in the first episode. She's the captain of Kobe. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, she she she like put on a crazy transformation for the second season.
SPEAKER_01For the second season, like I love it. I love how much dedication and how much damn fandom that y'all know y'all gonna get. Hardcore fandom that y'all know y'all gonna get if y'all take all these anime roles seriously. Y'all are about to become great iconic people if y'all take like y'all are like I'm putting it this way so y'all can understand it the most way I can tell you. Y'all are our Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker. I'm telling you right now, bro. Like these Usopp, Sanji, all of y'all doing y'all characters, y'all, y'all doing it phenomenal, but I'm telling y'all, the dedication I'm seeing for what all of y'all are doing is just unbelievable. Like, did you see what Zoro did for his for his role?
SPEAKER_00He just like he worked out hella hard to just put on muscle and get bigger frame.
SPEAKER_01Not only worked out hella hard to get hella muscle and frame, he committed to the role so much that he did his own, he did his own fight scenes. His own his own fight scenes, he hired his own what's it called, stunt devil, not to replace him into the fight scenes, to make sure that he's doing the fight scenes with the sword right, and in case he injure himself, he can finish up all the rest of the scenes so the show can keep going on. Fucking dead fucking cation.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean stuff like that definitely goes a long way, especially with the with the fan base as dedicated and deep as the One Piece fan base is stuff like that, like when you show you care about the product, or not the product, but the IP and what it means to people, people are gonna love you. And I feel like if these actors, once One Piece is done and they still continue to do put in that work, they're definitely gonna get a lot of a lot of support going on. So they're setting themselves up for six a lot of support.
SPEAKER_01Let me tell you something right now, son. Usopp got so much support. People are people are saying he's better than the regular anime character, and that is actually hard to do. Doesn't matter what character it is, it's hard to be a live action character actor and beat the person who was on cartoon anime status.
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean he's carrying the whole, well, not carrying the whole show, but he like he's probably he's probably the best character in the past active character in the whole show.
SPEAKER_0180 fucking percent, bro. His one-liners, his like gestures, his little, his little smile, his bro, everything about Usopp, I'm telling you right now, he is carrying that motherfucking show. Yeah, so I'm like everyone's doing their own part. I'm not even trying to take it away from anybody from the crew.
SPEAKER_00Everyone's doing great. Sorry, guys, it is what it is, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01I do like Sanji though, his little fight scene with uh Mr. 13 and fuck, what's that one's name? I forgot.
SPEAKER_00The booger guy? No, bro, with uh no, not Zoro. Sanji. Oh, Sanji. Oh, against uh the guy that throws the arrows? No, the one of the fishmen? No. I'm telling you three different ones if you don't remember, you know.
SPEAKER_01In the live action, live action, bro. Yeah. The one where they're flying, like what are they called? What would you call that? We wouldn't call it a raccoon, a sea otter?
SPEAKER_00Oh, against that little rodent that looked like a like a Mr.
SPEAKER_0113.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think what was he, like uh like a honey badger or something like that? Something like that. Like a Mr. 13.
SPEAKER_01I I don't remember. Like a big ass rat. It's not a big ass rat. No, no. Don't be disrespecting all this shit, bruh. Get it right or get it tight. It's a big ass rat. Get it right or get it right. Get it right or get it tight. You don't remember either, so you know, we're kind of guessing. But I don't disrespect, I remember his name, 13. It's whatever.
SPEAKER_00It's easy because he's not even that big, anyways. He is that big. He's never gonna show up again. Mr. 13? Yeah. The rodent? Yeah. He's probably never gonna show up again.
SPEAKER_01He's gonna show up again. He's gonna show up again. We'll see. I promise you he'll be there in Alabasta. Probably then. Guaranteed. We could bet $100 on it. Oh, is he died? You were the one that was saying that they don't kill characters.
SPEAKER_00I didn't say that. They body hella characters. I'm saying there's some characters that are important that will be back.
SPEAKER_01Oh, so you're telling me those two ain't? You're telling me those two ain't villains.
SPEAKER_00You think you think villains usually last that long?
SPEAKER_01The whole point of that whole conversation was talking about a villain.
SPEAKER_00That's what I'm saying. Like, that's what I'm saying. If they got bodied, they're villains. So usually villains are easy to body than it is a likable character.
SPEAKER_01I'm just saying you're proving my point.
SPEAKER_00I'm not proving your point. You're trying to tangle it to something. I don't even know where you're taking it. You're proving my point. No, I don't even know where you're taking it.
SPEAKER_01That that villains, that main villains are getting bodied in the live action film more than the anime did. And you're saying no, they don't. They can always come back because some of them are more important in the show.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm saying likable characters will most likely come back. And those two are likable. No, in the sense of like third guys.
SPEAKER_01The whole point of this conversation was about a villain that's coming in season three that Zoro has to be.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's probably gonna come back. I don't think I don't even think he's even showed up in the anime yet. I think he's in the live action.
SPEAKER_01I think he's gonna be down.
SPEAKER_00He's he's fairly big in the anime as a whole.
SPEAKER_01So like do you think that Booger guy's still alive?
SPEAKER_00Well, he never shows up 3,000 episodes later. I'm just saying, the knife guy does.
SPEAKER_01That's in the anime though. They already they already confirmed that they're not gonna take everything from the anime and put it in the manga. So in the prison break scene, they don't really need him. He's just there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, if he's there, that proves-if if he does show up in the live action, that proves they didn't get rid of it.
SPEAKER_01We're already getting we're already getting characters that we haven't seen in the anime coming early in season one. So why wouldn't they just put a different character in there? That's how that's how useless he is. Yeah, probably. I'm gonna be real with you. In the prison scene, useless. Everyone else was there was pirates that had no name that was more helpful than this man was in that whole scene, and you know it's true.
SPEAKER_00No, I mean, like you know, it the anime would graph characters and just kind of put him there to be there. Like we don't know how the an the live action's gonna do it yet.
SPEAKER_01Like, if we're talking about my ballerina bro, if you're talking about my flamingo dude, no, he has to stay, he has to stay alive because he's important.
SPEAKER_02But the knife guy, no, maybe like a like a little cameo, I guess you could say, not even a little bit.
SPEAKER_01We'll see. We'll see. Not even a little bit, but that actually brings me to my next
Ace Pressure And Backstory Tears
SPEAKER_01question. Season three is coming out. I'm actually excited for season three. We should be getting season three or like late 27, early 28, but that's not the point. The point is that we finally are about to see if this is gonna make or break it. And I'm not saying it's gonna make or break because this character is so important, I'm saying it's gonna make or break because if you don't nail this character, it's gonna fuck up the whole live action thing, everything, it will fuck up everything if you don't nail this character exactly right. And I am talking about Ace. Ace will be in One Piece live action season three. He's already cast, they're already filming. I'm telling you, good luck. I trust you, I believe in you, but I'm telling you right now, as an ace fan, you don't know how important Ace is to the One Piece community. It ain't Oda that made Ace popular, it was the ace fans that made that man so popular. He was more popular before the scene that made him popular. Let's put it that way.
SPEAKER_00Nah, I feel like for Ace is an easy, it's not easy, right? But all you gotta do is all you gotta do is make Ace a likable older brother. Because this early in the sh in the show, he really has nothing to like even throughout the whole show, he really does not have a big presence, but he's very impactful to the story. Like, let's not disrespect it. He's incredibly impactful. Intro, but but all you gotta do with Ace is make him a likable older brother presence. Like, if you've nailed that right, you rent because you don't really have to use him up until like way down the line, maybe by season five or season four or something like that. It's probably no no yeah.
SPEAKER_01When he comes back, that's when you're gonna really need him. That's when like the acting chops are gonna be really useful and needed.
SPEAKER_00But what I'm saying, you can set him up very well though for the first five minutes or whatever how long he's gonna have.
SPEAKER_01I'm telling you right now, do you really think that the ace fans are gonna give a man a pass? I mean, if he doesn't present himself as how we I don't even know how I'm expecting him. I'm an ace fan. I don't know how I'm expecting this man to come in on live series, but if he doesn't do it right, let's put it this way if the man doesn't ooze off fucking aura, the second he presents himself, it's over.
SPEAKER_00Look at look at how they look at how they did Zoro, right? Like in the very beginning of the show, they literally gave him extra scenes that are not even in the anime. That's how badass they they that's how badass they set up this character before you know anything about him. They gave him extra stuff that that's not even in the actual anime or manga itself. For Ace, they could really go one or two ways, right? They can use him as a major build where you give him a lot of extra content to be like, this is the character, this is how important he is, and this is the role he's gonna play, or they can just go for like a basic in and out introduction. I really doubt they're gonna do an in and out introduction.
SPEAKER_01They can't because if you do an in and out introduction, that's fine, but then you're gonna have a lot of pressure when he comes back. Like you need you need to give you need to give the ace fans something to eat on, something to relax themselves to get hyped about Ace coming back. But if you give him like a quick little cameo and that's it, people are gonna just be waiting until he comes back. And if he doesn't give dude when Ace comes back, it's gonna be the acting shops of that young man's life, and you know this. Like it's nothing is happy.
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean, nobody This will be the last time we see Ace smile. I mean, the the anime, like the whole One Piece fan base was super divisive on a lot of characters for like the live action, but then they landed, right? So it's kind of like it there is a chance that he might not, but just seeing how they've actually managed to do for the like I would probably say all the characters so far.
SPEAKER_01They were right, they were so right. V V, everything, they were so right.
SPEAKER_00The fact that they were able to land all the important characters so far, I feel like they got it. Like, I feel like they really got it in the bag. I mean, if you can make if you can introduce some of these characters this early, some of them were kind of goofy. Like the uh the Mihawk one was kind of a little goofy, but I think through and through he kind of they set it up, they managed to like slowly ease you into it to where the last moment he was.
SPEAKER_01I won't even lie, they actually did perfect, perfect, and I can't even describe how perfect they did on Nico Robin's casting. Yeah, I thought I just saw a live-action Nico Robin when she first appeared.
SPEAKER_02I thought that was just straight up Nico, and then the little kid, I was like, Oh, we're gonna get the little kid backstory too.
SPEAKER_00Nah, I mean, that's gonna be a lot of tears right there for that one.
SPEAKER_01There's gonna be a lot of tears for all of them. Because let's be real, and I'm gonna be real to all the new anime fans and all the only people that watched the live action one, Chopper's the nicest one. Out, I'm gonna be very honest with everyone's watching and y'all teared up, and y'all if y'all cried and y'all got teared up by Chopper's sad story, his was the easiest one out of all of them, out of everyone in the crew, he is gonna be the easiest one that you're gonna be able to choke down and be able to like keep watching the show.
SPEAKER_00The only reason it makes you hella sad is because he's small and fluffy and keeping. I know, but like they get they get dark, so they get dark.
SPEAKER_01That's the reason why it's so like heartfelt, and you start getting sad for him, right? You're like, oh, look at this little guy. Like, why is the world so mean to him? He's just a little baby. But I'll tell you right now Frankie's backstory, Robin, Sanji's step backstory, y'all see Nami's backstory. That shit was fucked up. Zoro's backstory is more of a like an origin arc, but that one, that one you already saw too.
SPEAKER_00So I feel like that one is it's sad, but it happens real quick. Like you brush it over pretty fast.
SPEAKER_01And like you kind of could see the warrior arc happening, so it's like it's less sad for the kid. It's more like, oh, who is this kid gonna kill? This this guy's gonna fuck someone up. He he is holding a rock through his teeth at age 10. Someone help this man, help him.
SPEAKER_00No, there's definitely gonna be a lot of sad ones. So get your get your tissues ready, get your popcorn ready, because you're gonna cry and you're gonna have fun at the same time.
SPEAKER_01And that's I think it's crazy that Luffy's a Luffy's what?
SPEAKER_00Backstory. It's weird. I mean, that one takes a long time. I know, but it ain't sad. It's not sad because it's not sad. Like in the in the there's a there's sad moments that happen through his older life.
SPEAKER_01Because you know, but in the all all backstory of backstories, like everyone else in his crew.
SPEAKER_00I mean, yeah, that that they there's definitely characters that have a worse like childhood.
SPEAKER_02Nigga, there's there's random side characters that had a worse childhood than him.
SPEAKER_00Man, there's a ship, nah.
SPEAKER_01But I'm gonna just tell you right now, it's just so funny how I'm just looking at everyone else's backstory and I look at Luffy and I'm like, nigga.
SPEAKER_00Luffy was a Luffy was a wild kid, you know what I mean? He went through some I mean, he definitely went through some crap though, but it's not like tragic compared to some of his literally some of his fucking crew members. Tragic. Yeah, tragic.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, no, all in all, I'm happy for them. I hope they're gonna do good on season three. I'm excited. I'm gonna rewatch season two multiple times because I won't even lie, they did great with those giants, dude. They did great with everything, dude. Like the production, the backgrounds, the boats, the hair. I didn't even think they were gonna get the hair right. How did they get the hair right on all the characters?
SPEAKER_00It was crazy. They they really went out of the way to kind of match him.
SPEAKER_01Mr. Five sounded like Mr. Five. Did he not? Yeah, I mean, uh, you know, like when you really just like if you're not even looking at the TV and he just starts talking, you think you're listening to the anime.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was a it was a it's a very good one-on-one like anime to live action. It's very good. And if it's very loyal, which is another thing that I really like. It's very loyal when it comes to care the way characters look, the way characters act, the way they kind of like go around their stories and stuff like that, which is probably my favorite thing of the whole thing, right? Like, I I like the the live action, it's cool, but the fact that you actually were loyal, I feel like that goes a long, long way.
SPEAKER_01No, it definitely goes a long way. I just dude, it was just it's phenomenal. That's all I'm gonna say. It's phenomenal.
The Year Of Blockbuster Movies
SPEAKER_01But what I want to tell you about was fucking bro, do you know that this year is just the year of movies? Do I? It's actually no, no, it's actually freaking insane. Like, I'm like looking at this and I cannot believe it, bro. I was like, okay, Doom's gonna be the hottest movie this year. No, wait, Spider-Man's gonna be the hottest movie this year. Oh, wait, Doomsday might be the hottest movie this year. So I'm like looking at all these hot top-tier movies that I know you're gonna watch because you even watch the ass movies. Who's taking it all? Who's taking like this is the one thing I really want to know. Who's taking the box office?
SPEAKER_00Man, it's gonna be it's gonna be a great year for me, to be honest. There's I have a handful of movies that that I'm really looking forward to this year, and I'm just gonna speed run through them. Robert Edgers, Werewolf, if you know, you know. No one cares. Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. That's gonna be a smash hit automatically. I heard about it. The the Dune, that's that's my beloved. That's what I've been waiting for all year, and that's when I'm gonna keep waiting until you come out. Doomsday is gonna be also another banger. That one's automatically gonna be big. And they're coming out right. We got another competition. We got another Barbieheimer over here, bro. This is gonna be a this is gonna be a clash. This is gonna be the this is gonna be the theaters just getting flooded with people taking sides, and you're gonna see people not but it's gonna fight, but you're gonna see people just stare each other down as they walk into their separate movie theaters. So this is gonna be a great year for movies. I'm super, super excited. Between the two of them, there's three of them. Three of them, I'll probably say Dune is gonna get a lot of attention. Spider-Man is probably gonna get it's gonna be between Spider-Man and Dune, to be honest with you. Doomsday is gonna be there because it's it's a big IP, but Spider-Man or Dune are definitely gonna go toe-to-toe. That's the real battle. That's gonna be the real battle right there between those two.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, I really think Spider-I think Spider-Man 4 is gonna take it. I really do. I really don't think Doomsday has a chance. I don't think Dune has a chance because Doom 1 sucked. Doom 2 was a smashy success. Doom one was so bad. It wasn't that bad.
SPEAKER_00Fell asleep in theaters. You fell asleep on theaters. Doesn't mean everybody didn't.
SPEAKER_01Then I watched it at home, passed out on my couch, then I started cooking and I said, let me turn this on and turned it off. I just don't know what the hype is about Doom. Doom one was just so awful.
SPEAKER_00Awful. Think about the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy, right? The first Batman, Batman Begins, is the lowest one out of the three.
SPEAKER_01It's okay.
SPEAKER_00Right? It's the slowest because it's a buildup. You're not there yet with the characters, the personalities, all that crap. Okay, fine. Christopher Nolan, The Dark Knight 2, is probably one of the greatest movies ever made. And then the third one, sadly, because of P Ledgers passing R.I.P., they kind of had to scramble and kind of get it together, right? So it's a flawed trilogy, but it's a great trilogy, and it's a very appreciated trilogy. For Dune, we haven't had any crazy moment like that happen. We're still with the main cast, we're adding in more characters as we speak. Dune 3 is gonna be bigger than Dune 2, or is gonna flop hard. There is no in-between, and I do not see a flopping. That trailer alone convinced me we're in for a year.
SPEAKER_01That trailer was okay. All it did was get a lot of fucking it got you hype.
SPEAKER_00Stop it, bro.
SPEAKER_01It just got a lot of the diehard fans to sing their little tribal song.
SPEAKER_00It's diehard fans. The franchise is only like five years old. And it's three movies started.
SPEAKER_01Star Wars had a diehard fan after two movies. Yeah. I'm just saying there's diehard fans, and diehard fans are gonna do diehard shit.
SPEAKER_00And that's just what happens when you have that's what happens when you think you're a good movie.
SPEAKER_01I'm talking about when you're a regular fan and you're just watching a movie, you're looking at this shit like, why is this man walking? Why are they coming out the sand? What is going on? This looks crazy. Those are what regular people are looking at this movie who doesn't really care about the movie that much. But you know that you're personally saying when you turned on the Spider-Man trailer, when Spider-Man looked broke, let me say it again. When Spider-Man looked broke, down bad, and still had to go save lives. That got me more excited than some chant.
SPEAKER_03That got me incredibly more excited than any chant. The man is broke, the man can't eat, and the man still gotta save you. Oh, that's so hard. He's about to dominate the box office, he's about to dominate your living room, he's about to dominate your TV screens.
SPEAKER_01Doom, I will give you second place because I really don't think Doomsday is gonna do what you did with Doom's 3. That trailer was hard, but Spider-Man 4 was in fucking sane, and they didn't even really say shit.
SPEAKER_03They just said it's out. We gone, it's down.
SPEAKER_00I'm listening I love Spider-Man 3 No Way Home. That was a phenomenal collision of just old fans, new fans, in-between fans. It was a it was a wave, it was a tsunami of just movie fans into one place. 700 million views in 24 two days, and I feel like the fourth one is definitely gonna be big, but I don't know if it's gonna be bigger than the second one, bigger than the third one, bigger because that third one was just bigger, everything about it was just a collision.
SPEAKER_01You want to know why I want to say it's gonna be bigger? Everyone who was doubting Tom Holland stopped doubting him after the third movie. All of the naysayers, even your hater ass, all of y'all Tom Holland haters who said he was not a good Spider-Man, all that bullshit doubt shit stopped. Now he is Spider-Man that the whole world recognized.
SPEAKER_03Now he's the Spider-Man that lost MJ, and now he's the Spider-Man that is broke and tired, and you know what happens when we get a broke, tired MJ list Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_00Man, for that third one, though, I had to be there. Like, I cannot not be in that theater watching Spider-Man 3, No Way Home.
SPEAKER_01And you're gonna already tell they're hiding shit through the trailer.
SPEAKER_00So you already You already know they're gonna do extra shit. It's just it's a matter of like, can you can you do it? I'm gonna just can you can you land it? Like that's the question.
SPEAKER_01Let's put it this way. Put it this way Spider-Man alone off that trailer, you're gonna go watch
Tom Holland Debate Gets Heated
SPEAKER_01the movie, right? Maybe. Now, maybe yeah, maybe for Spider-Man 4.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, maybe you're out of it. Spider-Man 3, I was already there for a minute. You're out your fucking mind.
SPEAKER_01No, no, you're out your fucking mind. Tell me why is it a maybe, and you gotta actually explain yourself, not say a maybe because so you watch bullshit ass movies, you just watch some Frankenstein opera bullshit, Bride Queen bullshit, and you're telling me Spider-Man 4 that did 700 million views, that is probably gonna be the one hottest movie in the fucking world over than your weak ass Doom 3 movie that actually is gonna do great numbers. How is that gonna get a fucking maybe out of someone who says I am a movie lover?
SPEAKER_00I like movies. I will not watch every movie that comes out. I will watch a movie that I want to watch. The Spider-Man one looks cool. I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna sit here and say it doesn't look cool, what the fuck? But I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Like if it by the time it comes out, save yourself. Go, keep going. You gotta explain.
SPEAKER_00No, I mean, I'm just telling you, like, if I'm I'm hyped as fuck. It's gonna be a great year for me. I already have three to four movies. I'm just waiting for them to come out. So the Spider-Man was, I'm probably gonna go watch it, but I don't know. I mean, who knows? Who knows really? It could come out, it could do good, it could come out, it could do bad. I mean, that that whole Tom Holland one, I've never really I've never really been into it.
SPEAKER_01See, no, see, no, that's what I'm saying. All of y'all Tom Holland haters wanna say something to say that y'all ain't gonna go watch the movie. But we all know y'all gonna go watch the movie. Y'all haters, y'all haters, y'all gotta say that he Tony, Toby's my only Spider-Man, so bruh, shut up. This is a legitly bull, like we don't even know what the who's the bad guy in the movie. We really don't know who the main bad guy of this movie is, and this trailer got us this hype. Usually we have to at least know what the fuck the dude's fighting for for us to get this hyped. Usually in any movie, like we don't really know what he's fighting. We know for a fact he's fighting the red hood because of that one scene. That's it. I thought the Hawk was gonna be in this movie. Technically, wasn't he? Wasn't he supposed to be? Like, oh well, well, technically the human is here. The humans, I didn't know.
SPEAKER_00But you know, you know something's gonna pop off. Like that's the trail, that's what the trailer's setting up. You know what I mean? It's you know something's gonna pop off.
SPEAKER_01See, that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_00The Hulk is gonna come out. Like, people already saying that, like, for this for the third one, how they blurred out what the what you were expecting to be there, they blurred it out.
SPEAKER_01But we all caught that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was done so badly, and people are like, bro, you did it again. Like, we caught you doing it again.
SPEAKER_01So we know they did a little better on this one. You couldn't you couldn't stop the eye angles. The eye angles were like kind of impossible to stop. But other than that, you kind of couldn't tell.
SPEAKER_00But you know they're gonna be here, like you know there's gonna be other characters that are gonna be part of this of this movie, but that's what I'm telling you.
SPEAKER_01So your maybe is thrown out the way, you're definitely gonna watch it. I'm just saying the hypheness of this movie is gonna be insane, and the crazy is it already got us ready to go watch it and spend money to watch it off of a trailer that doesn't really give us nothing. Bruh, I they're saying it's not happening. I still want to have faith. If they give us Miles, like that's not even a joke. That is the black and Puerto Rican fandom. If they give us live-action Miles Morales in this movie just to start being under the tutelish of it under this Spider-Man, who was broke, by the way.
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean, if they do, they're kind of they have to do it quick because they're running.
SPEAKER_03Who needs a friend right now?
SPEAKER_00They're running out of time with Tom Holland because he said he's only gonna be doing it up until like he has a kid, and then he's gonna dip. He's gonna leave Hollywood. So it you probably have like two more movies max. So if they do want to set it up, they gotta do it now or soon. Because if you if you fumble it, you cannot bring my like it's such a perfect transition, you know what I mean? To get Miles and Holland's uh Spider-Man to just be like, alright, I'm giving you the mantle type of thing. So when Holland retires, you can have Miles take over.
SPEAKER_01That's what I'm saying. So like just like off of that theory that has no ground. Absolutely no ground. No ground. Like, I'm just going off of just hopes and dreams right now. How could you not want to watch this movie? After he proved himself in three, and he's brought up.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you know why I went to watch three. Like, you know why I went to watch.
SPEAKER_01We all know why you went to watch three. Like, that's the only reason I went to watch. But I'm just saying, when you went to watch three, did you pass out? No, because you entertained when when they pulled up, yeah. That was an hour and 20 minutes later. So for an hour and 20 minutes, you didn't like the movie? I was watching it. Did you yes or no?
SPEAKER_00It was whatever up until I was there for a reason. Once they pulled up, the movie got entertained.
SPEAKER_01Do you like the movie? Yes or no? No other shit.
SPEAKER_00I did because they pulled up. Not after before they were. That's what I'm telling you. I like the movie as a whole because they were there. Fuck the whole. If if they weren't there, I will probably wouldn't have gone. Did if they weren't there, did you like the movie? I I wouldn't know because they were there.
SPEAKER_01If they cut it out and just said part two is when they come in and the part one was just him getting everything ready, did you like the movie?
SPEAKER_00I probably it was whatever to me, to be honest.
SPEAKER_01You were such like, bro, you can give a like can you give like a statement once in your life that is on your ground, yes or no, you hate the movie, or yes, you like the movie. It's okay if you went to a movie because you like one actor and you wanted to support that actor, and that's why you love the movie. But give your grounds if you hate the fucking movie. If you don't like the movie, say I don't like the movie, but right when my favorite actor came in, I enjoyed the movie enough to like it. That's fine, but give a fucking statement. Don't be on this flippy floppy shit saying, I went to watch the movie because he's in it, and I don't really like this old Spider-Man new thing because the old one's better, but it was a good movie because he was in it. Just say you don't like the movie then.
SPEAKER_00No, I mean that's what I'm saying. The first If you like the movie, say you like the movie. I like the movie because they were there. That's what I'm telling you. That's what I'm telling you. If they weren't there, I probably wouldn't have watched the movie. That's not like that's that's that's that's that's as fine as you're gonna get. If they were not there, I wouldn't have watched the movie. Like, what would you want from there?
SPEAKER_01They were there, which is why I sat through the movie. They were there. You had to watch Tom Holland's acting, you had to sit there and watch Tom Holland act, you had to see the Spider-Man of him act. Did he make you yawn? Did he make you sad? Did he make you not like him as Spider-Man? Did he make you want to leave the movie theater? Did he make you want to fast forward to the scene you want to watch? Say a fucking statement.
SPEAKER_00I was I was just waiting. Like I was just sitting there watching the movie, I was waiting because I knew it was coming. So then how one thing showed up, it was over. I was too fucking nervous to even notice the first half of that movie.
SPEAKER_01Bro, it's been almost five years. And if you can't tell me a full statement of how you felt about Tom Holland's acting instead of simping about someone else, it's been five years. You have to say something you liked or hated about that movie. If you don't like Tom Al Tom Holland as Spider-Man, perfectly fine with me. I don't care. I like Tom Holland acting, I like him as Spider-Man, he's doing a great job as Spider-Man. If you don't like him as Tom Holland and you don't like him as the Spider-Man, say so. Say that this sucked because he did Spider-Man wrong in this scene. This sucked because he didn't hit Spider-Man right in this scene, or he doesn't hit Spider-Man me in the right way in this scene, and he doesn't do Spider-Man in the right way in this scene. You're you're not giving me no facts why you don't like Tom Holland.
SPEAKER_00I'm just telling you, I don't care about Tom Holland Spider-Man. It's there, it was introduced to the MCU. Tom Holland had his movies. I watched the first one. Okay, like it hit Spider-Man is fine. The first one was fine.
SPEAKER_01The first one was fine. Okay, you like the first one. So then why did you like the first one? And you can explain you like the first one, and then the third one comes and you're like, we all know why it went to go watch the movie. Nigga, everyone in the world knows why everyone went to go watch that movie. You're not the only person that they went to go watch it because Toby was in it and fucking Andrew was in it. Everyone in the world went to go watch that movie because those three were in it. There was nobody in this earth that didn't go to this movie, go to that movie to go watch all three of the Spider-Man's in one film. That's a fact. I'm telling you, is in the movie, Spider-Man had to be played as Tom Holland and you had to sit there for an hour watching Tom Holland play him. Just tell me, did you yawn? Did you hate him? Did you not enjoy the Spider-Man?
SPEAKER_00Did he keep you entertained until your love and savior came? It was fine, dude. I watched, I sat through the movie. I was far too excited to even notice because I knew it was coming. So when I was watching it, I'm just like, all right, where where are they setting it up to where they're gonna pop in? So for the most part, I'm kind of like I'm looking for little signs like okay, where are they? Or or what's happening? Where are they gonna come in? That's really why I was waiting for the whole movie. So when it happened, it paid off incredibly well. Like everything paid off fine.
SPEAKER_01Everything paid off. It was a great fucking movie, it was a fantastic movie. It's gonna go down as one of the best movies of all time. Well, the best Spider-Man movie of all time. I just don't like how you're flippy floppy about your statements. You can give a statement, but give your statements truly. If you don't like an actor and you don't like how he played it, say something. Don't say we went to go watch this because of Tom Holland because everyone else wants to go watch it. Tom, I mean Toby, because you want to go watch it for Toby and nothing else, bro. If you don't like Tom Holland as Spider Man, that is perfectly fine. I care less. I am always going to support Tom Holland. But what you're going to have to do is explain why. You don't like his Spider-Man. Does he not interest you? Does he not hit you passionately? Does he not hit Spider-Man's movements the right way? They're like, you gotta give something.
SPEAKER_00No, I mean, I just his Spider-Man has never really landed with me. Like it's just I always felt like it landed flat to me. So that's why for me it's kind of like a give or take. Like the first one I went to watch it because that came right after Civil War. So that was built up as something. Like that movie was the worst one. Like that shit. I mean, but I'm saying the timeline, the build-up was it was just Civil War, boom, Spider-Man right after. That was around the I think Wakanda, the first Black Panther one.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So that's when the MCU was popping. So it's not like you could not ignore it. Especially back in those days, I was a big MCU fan. So it's not like I could ignore it. And that one movie was fine. But then after that, that whole MCU was just kind of like going side to side. And I'm like, alright, you know, I feel like I could just ignore this movie and now watch this movie because it's there's really nothing that interests me about it. Like with the first
Infinity War Vs Endgame Fallout
SPEAKER_0010 years of the MCU, I was watching every single movie because every single movie was a banger.
SPEAKER_01But you know that Fireman 2 was the in was the aftermath of Endgame, right? Yeah. So did you watch that one?
SPEAKER_00No. No, I I never caught it in theaters.
SPEAKER_01None of your in nothing makes sense. Sorry.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I didn't like Endgame anyways. You know, Infinity War is peak. Infinity War is peak? Infinity War is peak, bro. That movie wasn't amazing. No, it wasn't. Yeah, I mean, Endgame finished. It was there and it finished. But Infinity War, I would say Infinity War is probably the best MCU movie ever. At least for this generation of the MCU. We don't know where the hell it's going.
SPEAKER_01It's better than Iron Man.
SPEAKER_00Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_01Iron Man 1. It's better than Iron Man 1.
SPEAKER_00All of them, bro. You can put all of them in the lineup. Infinity War was literally 12 years, 15 years in the making for it.
SPEAKER_01Better than the first Captain America movie?
SPEAKER_00Yes. Better than the first Spider-Man. Yes. Even better than Winter Soldier. And I love Winter Soldier with all my heart. That's my second favorite. That's my second favorite MCU movie. Okay. And it bodies it.
SPEAKER_01Tell me how did that body all of those other movies? There's no way Infinite War bodied anything. The build-up. Everything. No, no. Box office-wise, yes. You bodied it because you got us build up for the Thanos, yes. You guys bent up, you got us built up for Thanos, and you made us love all these characters that were going to be in it. The build-up for and Civil War. So they were split up, and then you had the fandom, and this you you built it up perfectly for us to get ready for infinity war. I'm talking about now that Affinity War is over, it is laid to dust, it is infinite set there in stone. Was it a good was it a good movie for a superhero movie? And I'm gonna say for a superhero movie, no, it wasn't. Because what you did, all you did was kill off beloved characters, made all of other all the other characters that wasn't beloved or who was also beloved, they just became old or useless because of the tragedy of what he did. And then all the new characters that you gave us, you didn't even introduce them in Affinity War, which is the best time to introduce new characters when we're in danger and we don't like we're too like we're too dopamine out to care about worried about like we're too dopamine out at that time to worry about everything about one new character or two new characters that pop up. We're gonna worry about that after the shit's done. We need we need to know shit's going down, and you didn't do none of that. All you did really is just show all the characters that you built up in the past years, which were all great characters you built up, and then when the movie came and left, it was over, bro. No one gave a fuck about Marvel because of that movie. Like Marvel is over, Marvel is over, not even over, it's like pretty much almost dead. It's trying to come back off the ground, and it's because of that movie. Yes, it did great, it did billions of dollars. But where are we now, dude? Look at all the movies after it. It's different when you come out with a great fucking movie and you can build off of it. When Avatar, the first movie with the blue people came out, it was a great movie. And when the second one came out, I want more, and I can't wait until the third one comes out. So that's what I'm saying. Like, in build-up wise, infinite, infinitely, that was a great the payoff. That was a great thing that they built.
SPEAKER_00It didn't pay off, and it did not pay off. It literally introduced you a villain, a snippet of a villain from the first Avengers movie, and you're like, okay, who's this guy? If you read the comics, you know exactly who it is. But back in those days, Marvel was just in its baby, like in the MCU was in its infancy, so a lot of people didn't know what was coming. So after all that buildup, all those characters going through whatever they went through, and then we had the Civil War, just for them, all different universes. You brought in too, like the Guardians of the Galaxy, you brought in the captain, you brought in Iron Man back, you brought in the Black Panther in like all this stuff, the coalition of everything you brought in was so dope. And then at all of that, when you have all the characters that you know are OP as hell, and you're they're gonna win, they lose. That was so perfect because you're like, bro, you literally gave me all the characters that you know are the great, and you know that they will not lose to nobody and their own movies, they never lose, they always win, they're the heroes, but then they lost, and then not just that, but they died and they they were not there no more. So for five years and endgame, but so for all this time, you literally when Infinity War finished, you're like, they died, they really killed off all these important characters. They killed off Bucky, they gave off Spider-Man, they killed off all these characters that you really they killed off Groot, like all these characters you care about that you were taught to love were just taken from you. Like, how not cool is that?
SPEAKER_01That shit was so badass. You're missing the point, like you always do, Buck. I'm not saying that they didn't pay off the buildup. The characters that they build up are gonna be known forever. I don't give a fuck about that. I'm gonna be. That's what I'm saying. Why it's such a great movie. It's not though, because it's the future that matters in any movie, any movie, Star Wars, Star Wars, Dune, and you Doom 3 is your favorite movie, right?
SPEAKER_00Doom 2 was goaded.
SPEAKER_01Like, you know, like Doom the series, like you know, that's your movie, right? I like him. Like it good. The build-up, how they're doing it is great, and how they're gonna pay it off in Doom 3 is even better. But what makes it so much great and better is how they're gonna be able to move forward after those movies are over, and that's fine.
SPEAKER_00All I'm telling you, what I'm telling you is the fact that they did the story, even if they were gonna come back in the future, that's after, that's whatever. The actual story of Infinity War itself was so good because everything you were taught to believe was broken.
SPEAKER_01Bro, you even said it earlier in the fucking podcast that you were like, you know, when I was first watching Marvel, it felt like I had to watch every single movie because I get tied in and it felt right, and then right after Infinity War, I didn't feel like I really needed to watch everything, and I just fell off.
SPEAKER_00That was just that was after Endgame.
SPEAKER_01I know, those were your exact words. I'm telling you, Endgame didn't have a plan. Endgame was the problem, not the solution. Yes, they did pay it off because yes, you got your little moments, your little hoo-rah-rah, rahs, but now who do you care about after? You didn't care about Miss Marvel, you didn't care about Logie, you didn't care about Moon Knight, you didn't care about fucking Marvel. Oh, who was that girl? The Marvel girl that went to go get Iron Man in Endgame. What was her name? Marvel 2. Her name's Marvel 2. Oh, Miss Marvel? Yes, that's her comic book name, but but you got you got Miss Marvel, and then you got the one high school girl on the TV show. You got that Marvel girl, you got what else came out? You got the werewolf. You did you care about the werewolf show? Did you care about dude? I'm telling you, like, listen to what I'm saying. Like, all of the stuff they am laying out is stuff that they did right after Endgame. They didn't have no plan, they didn't have no like endgame was such a great build-up that it's gonna live because like you can go back and watch Iron Man 1, Thor, Captain America, all the great superheroes, and lead up to Infinity War every time, and it'll be a banger every time you watch it, it's gonna hit. But what's the problem about that is you're not gonna have nowhere to go after, there's nowhere to lead on, there's nothing to like even like produce. Like Spider-Man was supposed to be like your little chain anchor to do it, and they fumbled the bag on that. You needed someone to carry after everything was over. There was no one to carry. You thought Falcon was gonna carry the show? You you were gonna replace Iron Man and Captain America for Falcon. I mean, that's what I'm saying, bro. They didn't want you, they didn't lead you to love characters after your beloved character was gone. Because, like, what's a Marvel character that they haven't introduced yet that you like? Is there any Marvel character that you know that they haven't like they they haven't introduced and you like any of them?
SPEAKER_00I'm not really like a big Marvel comic book aspect fan. I read I read them like back in the day.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so let's put it to a way, like you know what Moon Knight is, right? You seen the show?
SPEAKER_00I haven't seen the show, but I have a good idea of it.
SPEAKER_01You haven't seen the show?
SPEAKER_00No, not yet. I heard it was really good though.
SPEAKER_01It was good. You should watch the show. I think you'll like it. I think you'll really enjoy the show. You should watch the show. Moon Knight, they could a hundred percent started that show before Affinity War, have him in the world before he came, then have him do some side quest stuff in the movie where he's not in danger at all, but he's actually like a little character that like gets a little like he just she shows up, he does a little cool little action scene, and then he disappears. People wonder who that was. That's Moon Knight. So you'll be ready to go to Moon Knight when that movie's over. They didn't hook none of these new characters in Infinity War or in Endgame, they didn't really need to be in Infinity War, but they definitely needed to be in Endgame War.
SPEAKER_00A lot of those other shows they did after Endgame was just because like they're like, Oh, look at all this money that's that could have that's gonna flow in the second we start making shows. But then they kind of diluted it every time because of Infinity War.
SPEAKER_01How much did Affinity War make?
SPEAKER_00I don't think it did as much as Endgame. Endgame Endgame was the end of it all. So they that made like two something billion, like 2.9 or something. Yeah, so how much did Affinity War make? I think it made like 1.5 or so.
SPEAKER_01So it still made over No, you don't have to you don't have to check it, but so it made a good amount of money. Then you go to Endgame next, right after, like it was a year later, right? They gave us like one year time for Endgame, right? They did it pretty well on the final scene. You had to watch it, so you had to watch it because you were already hyped, Spider-Man was gone. I mean, not even that though. I mean, I love Infinity War, but the amount of hypedness the hypedness that got it, but then when you really think about it, look at this. When it came down and you watched it, endgame came and it went, you were satisfied. That was the problem. You can honestly say when you watched Infinity War and then waited a year and watched Endgame, you were satisfied. If a new Spider-Man movie came out, if you're a real Spider-Man fan, you'll go watch it. But if you are satisfied with Endgame, you don't need to go watch it. Am I right or wrong? Yeah, for the most part. So that was the problem. You didn't put no jeopardy after Endgame, where all the side fans who love the Avengers and who love the team up of heroes, even though if you like a hero, if something of all of our heroes are in trouble in this one movie next, we're all gonna go watch that movie because this is the next chapter of the next shit that's going down, and maybe our characters will come or do something. That's why they fucked up. It is all over the place now. Ever since Endgame came out, I know everyone in that studio got money hungry. I know everyone in that studio said, bro, we just made two billion dollars, they're eating out of our teeth, we can throw them anything we want, and they're gonna watch it like fucking pies. And that's why we got WandaVision, the TV show. That's why we got Doctor Strange House of Madness. That's why Loki. That's why we got Loki.
SPEAKER_00That's why we got that was that was definitely the lowest the lowest moment of I feel like of the MCT franchise. Eternals, no, but like Thor is Thor, you know what I mean? Like, okay, the the Eternal ones was kind of like putting in no name, no, in a sense, no name characters, kind of building it up. But Thor, because the second Thor was already good, like it's considered one of the best ones, but that third last Thor, that was your last hope. Like after that, you really had nothing. So when that fumbled, it's like, bro, you cannot build on anything now. You can just gotta scatter out.
SPEAKER_01It's like when you saw the Thor one, you every one of your like like fans like you, they lost you forever. They lost you really hard. Like, it's really hard to get you back in the like they just came out with Spider-Man 4 trailer, which was a banger, and you're still debating.
SPEAKER_00Like the the last MCU was the Doctor Strange one, House of Madness, and that was right after the in game.
SPEAKER_01That was like the that was their like part, that was their phase, that was their phase right after Endgame was over. You had Spider-Man, Marvel, uh Miss Marvel, and then you had WandaVision, and then you had uh Doctor Strange. Loki show, yeah. Logie show, and then you had Doctor Strange. So, like all of that, that was their first shit. That was the first wave of stuff after that game. That's what I'm telling you. They fucked up. They they got money hungry, they didn't have a plan after end game, they didn't give us an end all be all fucking because that that's what Thanos was supposed to be. Well, I think that's who Kane was supposed to be.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but that happened.
SPEAKER_01Kane the Conqueror.
SPEAKER_00I think that's what Well, that was the like that was like another phase of it. You know what I mean? That was like, okay, the the Thanos phase is over, so now we move on.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the Kane the Conqueror, but even when Kane the Conqueror came out, you still lost us. We were already lost. Kane the Conqueror was in Logie, Kane the Conqueror was in the new Ant-Man. So, like Kane was already there in phase one, like how Thanos was there in phase one. Did it hit the same? No, because you didn't care about these characters, like the most character you cared about this new roster was Black Panther and Spider-Man. Black Panther tragically died, R.I.P. Tragicosman, and then Spider-Man. That's it. Everyone else was just B tier characters that you cared less and had no zero emotion about.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, those were the only characters you could connect to the old, like pre pre-endgame, basically. Yeah, pre-endgame. So I feel like Endgame was so massive. Yeah, that's fine. It was so massive that it really just if you shut down the story there, it's fine. You know what I mean? Like you could kind of close the book and move on. But the thing is, like you said, at that moment, once they made that amount of money, they're like, Oh, we're gonna milk it for all the time.
SPEAKER_01Well, you gotta remember if this is a hero world. Even though you killed one bad guy, there's always a bigger bad guy will always come. Thanos in any it not Thanos in any shape and form was not the end all or be all in the Marvel universe.
SPEAKER_00No, he was just set up in the MCU universe.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but he made every non-comic book fan like yourself, every non-comic book like person who won't read a comic, but you'll like you love movies, and you'll re you'll watch all the superhero movies if you want. If you like, if you enjoy the superhero movie, you're gonna watch it. They made Thanos look like he was in no one stronger than him. No one can top him. There's no one that comes close, even in the stratosphere of topping Thanos, right? He they made him that scary to the all the theater people. So when he when he was over, and all of the good, good, solid fan characters are gone, you had nothing left.
SPEAKER_00I mean, a lot of that falls on like the Russo brothers because they're the ones that set up the timeline. No, they're the blame them. No, like no, no, no, no, it's not their fault. I'm saying in the sense of like they build the Thanos timeline, the beginning and the end. But after that is when they were they became real big in the company, so they're not in the in the in the board, they're not writing on the board making the storylines no more. That falls on different creators. That's why a lot of different shows and movies have different creators who put their own spin on it. But that's like the Ruster Brothers were controlling all of it, and then I feel like Infinity War was the there's the build-up and the the payup. The payoff. I just think I like the build-up more than the payoff.
SPEAKER_01I love the build-up. The build-up was the thing that made Marvel Marvel. It was the payoff, which was great payoff in Affinity War.
SPEAKER_00No, no, the payoff is endgame.
SPEAKER_01Endgame payoff.
SPEAKER_00And then the the build-up is Infinity War. That's the way I see it.
SPEAKER_01No, like I feel like all of the movies, that payoff was Infinity War. Because Infinity War and Endgame is basically one movie but split.
SPEAKER_00Like that's that's one movie but split.
SPEAKER_01It's split. But like the Affinity War part, that was your payoff for all of the movies that they came out and made you love all your characters. That movie right there, that's your payoff. And then the other part right there, the second part is also your payoff, but they fucked it up.
SPEAKER_00Well, on Infinity War, that's the first time you see Dannos. Like that's the first time you see his imposing power payoff. That was the build-up. Because then at the end of the Infinity War, where the buildup is, it all ends. So then you have Endgame, which is the payoff, because what happens in the end? They win. When you win, that's a payoff. When you lose, that's a build-up. Because you either go up or you go down, but on Infinity War, they lost. So they had to build up and they had to pay off in Endgame.
SPEAKER_01The climax is the second you got to see Thanos. That was the climax.
SPEAKER_00I feel like it's when you defeat Thanos.
SPEAKER_01No, no, no. Because you won.
SPEAKER_00Like you finished the timeline.
SPEAKER_01Bro, when we first watched the first of the when we first watched the first Avengers, Logie was the big bad dude, and he was scared of Thanos. Then you watched another Avengers movie, even that big bad dude was scared of Thanos. Everyone was waiting. We the build-up was insane on each movie when it came to a snippet of Thanos. That the build-up was insane. No one even knew what the guy looked like yet, but we were just so hyped about him. And then when you finally got to see him in Infinite War and he put the beats down in Hawk, you that was your climax. That was your satisfaction. That was like, oh, this is what we've been waiting for. This is what this is what all of this bullshit has been about. This is what we've been through, all these movies were about. It was this moment's climax. The payoff was when everyone lost and they had to come back and win, but they didn't build no characters for that win for you to be paid. You got paid off. Like you got to see your characters go off, you got to see your big bad villain, you got to see everything, you got to see your characters fall, you got to see your characters suffer, and then you got to see your characters rise to become the heroes again. That's your payoff. That's not the payoff that a superhero society needs, bro. You need another bigger, badder person. You needed Thanos to run away to someone who's worse. You needed a doom.
SPEAKER_00That's just bad building on their part, then. You know what I mean? Like, that's just bad building on their part. But I don't blame you at all.
SPEAKER_01I mean them.
SPEAKER_00No, no, but to me, it always was like, okay, so Infinity Ward is the buildup of all the previous things, right? But it's not like Endgame didn't have those same exact characters. If anything, Endgame gave him more motivation, it gave him more spark to finish the fight. Because we're with with Infinity Ward, the buildup was the fact that at the end of everything, no matter how much they fought, no matter how hard they tried, they lost. And then an endgame is you that was a climax moment. That was that was the that was the that was the end at all.
SPEAKER_01Bro, that was the climax moment, right? You just said it perfectly right there. You just saw all of your heroes, everything they've been through, you knew that they were gonna win, they always win, and this guy who y'all been fearing for 10 years beat them all, and they lost and the movies over.
SPEAKER_00Climax beat Thanos is the climax.
SPEAKER_01No, no, no, no, no, no. When Thanos won and all of your characters lost, and and and Iron Man was hovering in space, that's your climax. Now, when you get to Endgame, this is why Endgame is so bad.
SPEAKER_00Endgame was supposed to be your I think you hate Endgame more than me, bro.
SPEAKER_01I do. Because like when you really think like, bro, like Endgame was supposed to be your build up to a new climax.
SPEAKER_00But I feel like they just wanted to seal that storyline right there. So that's that's probably why they didn't build on for the future because you had so much to close down right here.
SPEAKER_01That's what I'm saying. Like, how they finished, how they made end game and how How Endgame started and finished from beginning to end was not a movie that the superhero society or anything need. Like, let's put it this way Thanos ain't the reason why mutants are there. Thanos ain't the reason why the Fantastic Four is there. Thanos ain't the reason why Moon Knight is there. Thanos ain't the reason why the Thunderbolts are there. Like you gotta think about it. Like he didn't cause any of the stuff that we're dealing with now in these new movies. That's why you don't give a fuck. That's why you don't care. That's why you don't really want to go watch a movie of Marvel unless if it really interests you, because none of the movies line up to make you care enough to be like, ooh, like imagine if like the reason, like right when Thanos lost the second time was the was the day that freaking you go into a cutscene is the day that something happens in the nuclear something, and all the mutants got made that day. Like that was just like then you then you're just like whoa, whoa, we're going to mutants, and it was in end game. No, I mean I feel like through and through like they didn't switch it, they didn't switch you ready, they didn't get you to the next stage, the next pace. Like, I don't care how they could have kept end game how it is, but if you were gonna in end game like that, you had to get us ready for our next adventure.
SPEAKER_00It didn't have to be, they didn't like they decided to just close it all right there.
SPEAKER_01Endgame was literally the end game of everything, and that's why it's terrible because it's not because you could call you could call endgame the endgame of everything, but it's not.
SPEAKER_00No, I mean that in the sense of like you're closing this this build-up chapter of the MCU, but it shouldn't be because the endgame it was no no no, but what I'm saying is after Endgame was finished, you managed to completely close this entire timeline you were building, right? And then after that, you went on to create other shows to milk it. And once you started noticing that people were kind of getting a little iffy about the product, you decided to come out with Thunderbolt, the the But you're doing that, you're doing that because you don't read comics, so you don't know half the stuff that's coming out, so you think it's all random. No, there were plans of those no, I I get that, but what I'm saying the product wasn't as good as it's not as good because it doesn't have a plot.
SPEAKER_01You every time you gotta go into a new movie or a new show or Marvel, you have to find out a different freaking plot. Is Ironheart the TV show the same plot as Avengers? Is it no? Is freaking Wakanda Forever, the second movie, the same plot as the Avengers? No, like think about it. Every time when you're looking at these new movies, are they leading somewhere? Any of the new Marvel movies that you watched did it lead you somewhere to go watch something else or be excited something else?
SPEAKER_00The only thing that did it was the Thunderbolts and the Fantastic Four, those are the those two are like the only ones that connect right now, and then Doomsday coming out soon, so we're gonna have to wait to see how that connects.
SPEAKER_01But I feel like they only did that because they lost so badly in the other ones that they were like, all right, let's start tying this into Doomsday and let's start actually trying. Like, but like, bro, it doesn't work.
SPEAKER_00The last 10 years or like not 10 years, right? But like after the last six, seven years of fumbling everything, they're finally okay. Yeah, they're finally like, okay, let's let's kind of go back to our bases and let's rebuild an entire new universe. And I feel like that's kind of where we're at now. That's why we have three movies kind of connecting to each other. Before they were
Marvel Rebuild With Doomsday Setup
SPEAKER_00kind of loosely connected, now they're truly connected. Now we actually got Thunderbolts and we have Fantastic Four who are somehow connected into each other, and now we have Doomsday, which we still have to wait to see how if that connects as well, or if that another whole thing, no, no, that's gonna connect, but that's that's my problem with you when you you watch Thunderbolts, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, did you watch Fantastic Four? Yeah, those two when you watched Thunderbolts, did you watch the In Credit scene? Yeah, what did the Incredit scene show? The Fantastic Four ship. So what made you get excited to go watch, get ready for to get like a glimpse of the new Fantastic Four? The Thunderbolts movie, not not no trailer.
SPEAKER_00I'm not I didn't really catch that until my boy, my buddy told me like way down the line that it was actually their ship. Like I saw a ship, but I didn't know it was their ship. You didn't see the four? I didn't see the four, no. I just saw like a ship flying, and I'm like, hey, that's pretty cool.
SPEAKER_01Well, and then I watched I watched Fantastic Four, and I'm like, oh, one issue is every time you just miss the simple shit. But no, bro, that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_00Like, they let even if it was your boy that told you, I was in my Pedro Pascal era, so you know I had to, I had to support.
SPEAKER_01No, you're in your slug under the rock. I gotta just tell you of everything era. That's what you're in. But your boy even told you because he saw it and he was like, he got so excited.
SPEAKER_00No, he just caught it. He just caught it. I was talking shit and then he he caught it and he told me about it.
SPEAKER_01He caught it, and you were talking shit, and he got so excited knowing that Fantastic Four is gonna be in Doomsday, that he told you that the Fantastic Four ship was in Thunderbolts. So he made you even double check your theory if thumb if Fantastic Four was in Thunderbolts. Right when you did that, you got more excited for the new Fantastic Four movie, even if you didn't, because now it's a plot with this movie, it's gonna lead into this movie, and then that movie that you watched with Fantastic Four led into the Doomsday movie, which gets you more excited, not more excited than Dooms Three or Spider-Man 4, obviously. You know, the trailer's not even close, but it got you more excited to actually give this movie a chance to go watch it. Like any other movie, you were just waiting for the real trailer, and then we're gonna test if we're gonna go watch it. This one, how long have we been waiting for this movie in an actual good trailer? It's been a minute. They haven't even given us a good trailer yet, so that's what I'm saying. They are hyping us up again like they did with the Thanos arc.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I mean, to be fair though, this is not like uh like a high climb to an even higher peak. This is more of a low, like a real base bottom scraping to like a like a hopefully a good climb again. Because they that's what doomsday is supposed to be.
SPEAKER_01No, but but they fumbled the bag. That's why they gotta do this because they could have bro, they had the recipe, bro. You had Spider-Man, you had Daredevil, you had I can't even I can name like five of them.
SPEAKER_00They dropped so much fucking content they dropped so much content.
SPEAKER_01You had Logie, even Logie season one, season two was okay, but season one was great, but like you had something to nibble to make the fans re-love or re-love new characters or get in love with new characters for us to get ready for this new climax. This climax has nothing over Infinity War. No, of course not. Infinity War climax versus Doomsday climax is completely different, and the reason why is because you loved all the characters that they produced the last 10 years and the plots that they introduced them in. That's why the climax paid off so well. This one, they gave you two movies that made sense for this climax. All the other ones are taking bro Chao what's that dude's name? The uh the dude with the 10 rings. What's his name? Chao Chen? Shingq? Changqi? Chao Ching. He's gonna be in the movie. He had one movie five years ago, and it had nothing to do with Doomsday.
SPEAKER_00They're putting all their chips in. If you fumble this one, you're done. That's what I'm saying. If you fumble this one, you're done.
SPEAKER_01And that was a good movie. That's what I'm saying. Like they just don't have they they they they're trying to fix for their mistakes, and I think Spider-Man 4 is the first one to do it, and they're doing them broke.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I mean, Spider-Man 3 was a phenomenon. You know what I mean? That was how was Sony doing it good? I really do think it's gonna be. No, I feel like Spider-Man 4 is definitely gonna be like it's gonna wash.
SPEAKER_01It depends how they go with the plot. Because Spider-Man, okay, let's put it this way Spider-Man fans are gonna show up anyway, but it depends how they go with the plot. If they go with the plot, right.
SPEAKER_00But let's think about it like this, right? Sony has fumbled when it comes to adaptations or live actions, they fumble everything except Spider-Man's. We're talking about Miles, and we're talking about Tom Holland. Those are the only two they haven't fumbled. All the other, all the other ones they've made were absolutely atrocious, but those were the that's the only one. So they definitely pay a lot of respect to Spider-Man and they treat it right, or at least as good as they can, I guess you could say. But that's that's why we've had such a good, a good, stable timeline for Tom Holland Spider-Man so far.
SPEAKER_01All I know is I'm hyped. I got really hyped. We talked a long time about this, so 100% I'm hyped about it. Spider-Man 4 is 100% gonna do some numbers as long as they got the plot right, and Tom Holland comes at this Spider-Man character a different type of way. Oh, who baby, we're gonna eat. We're gonna eat natural webs. Just I just want him to hit it a different way. Like, I want you to hit it like Tom Holland. You're broke.
SPEAKER_00Oh, give me a Toby broke taking your girl and getting slapped by your best friend at the same night, Toby.
SPEAKER_01Pretty much I want you to hit your Toby arc, but I want you to hit a better Toby arc. Because Toby, Toby, you did it with no help. You had nothing to go off of. You have just comic books and you had to hit that. And you hit it. You were the foundation, basically, and you hit it just right. Tom, you have a foundation. And one of the greatest foundations ever to hit this arc. So you really gotta hit this arc right. And if you hit this arc right, even the haters can't say shit. Should be good.
SPEAKER_00Should be good.
SPEAKER_01Oh, we should gonna tell you, speaking about hype, Doom versus Eventable. I I can't believe uh Doomsday just got kicked out. The can out you're like, you just kicked him out, like he has no chance against these two movies.
SPEAKER_00But it's it's I mean, it's it's like I'm pretty sure we can both be like, yeah, I agree. They're both gonna fucking body. The only thing, I mean, doomsday is definitely gonna be a big because at the end of the day, it is Marvel and it is bringing a lot of old characters we care about, literally replacing one legend for another character. Like that's how that's how desperate they are to bring a little spark back. But Dune and Doomsday are definitely gonna clash, and I feel like between the two of them, Doomsday is probably gonna do better numbers, but I feel like Dune is gonna get the better reception, if that makes sense.
SPEAKER_01Yes, no, you know, that makes sense, but box office-wise, I'm not gonna hold a candle to either one because hear me out. Doom is probably expecting a bill, easily. Doomsday, definitely expecting a bill.
SPEAKER_00And when when you do like a double, like a double movie at the same time, this big, bruh, you're gonna get even people that don't care are gonna go there. Yeah. Because it's gonna be big. It's gonna be like Barbieheimer, right? They both went toe-to-toe. I think Barbie came out on top, but Oppenheimer is a almost a three-hour biopic. And look how great and how like how beloved it became because they came and clashed with Barbie at the same time. It's Pollar opposite. So I feel like for Dune and Doomsday, they're gonna have another moment where they're gonna go toe-to-toe, and people are gonna watch both of them just to see which they like more. Even if you don't care about either one, people are gonna tell you about it, and you're gonna get enough attention on it that people are just gonna watch them anyways.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm probably gonna watch Doomsday first.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna watch Dune first and then watch Doomsday. I might not watch Doom, but like, you know, I might watch it like the next week because usually I try to do one a week.
SPEAKER_01I might give I might give it another chance or not, but I don't know yet. So we'll we'll we'll find out. But I don't like Doom, so Doomsday is for me. And then I got Spider-Man 4. Like, Spider-Man 4 is out with that conversation. I I know Spider-Man 4 is being both of y'all, most likely. And if it has a great plot and character development, I really don't even see y'all have
Invincible Vs JJK Hype War
SPEAKER_01a chance. I mean, you're coming out for a speaking of shows that don't have a chance, who do you think has more hype? Invincible or JJK?
SPEAKER_00No, that's a good question. That's a I mean, as an anime fan, I want to say JJK, but an as as an an animation fan, and the fact that Prime is the one that makes the Invisible franchise, I'm gonna give it to Prime. Like, I feel like I feel like Invincible, I feel like Invincible as a whole has a lot more eyes on it because it is a Western apart from being a Japanese made. So I feel like people just kind of look at it. And it's from a big IP. Like the original comic was pretty big in his time, too. So it's not like you're bringing in new fans. Like, no, people know what to expect, and if you give it to them, they're gonna, they're gonna show up. I'll give it, I'll give it to Invincible. I love JJK, but I'm gonna have to give it to Invincible between the two of them.
SPEAKER_01You anime motherfucking betrayer. I'm giving that shit straight to JJK. You're out your mind if you don't think JJK is gonna hit this, bro. JJK's doing dummy numbers that we have never seen ever. Okay, Invincible's doing great Western numbers. Fine. Yes, I love Invincible, great show. JJK is gonna go down as one of the most phenomenal next gen animes that we have ever seen.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, I'm not gonna argue with you on that. I'm just saying the fact that I'm just talking about the platform that they have. I love Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll is massive, but Prime is Amazon. Prime is is a is a freaking monstrosity of a platform. It has so much numbers compared to something like Crunchyroll because it has everything. It has live action, it has it has the boys, it has like so many other type of shows that if you're scrolling through it, you could be watching a normal show and then you just stumble upon invincible like.
SPEAKER_01But I don't think JJK is exclusive to Crunchyroll. I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_00Even then though, but like I'm just saying more in the sense of it is just like an anime focused. Like it's it's it's purely anime, like Japanese animation. So even the way it looks, like the way the art looks, it's much different from like a Western, round-ish. The anime always has like sharper features, you know what I mean? And then the ones on the western side usually have softer features, like Family Guy or something like that. They're all round and they got weird wobbly fingers and shit. That's what I'm saying. Like, I feel like it's much more appeasing to someone if they're gonna watch between anime or live or at Western show, they're probably gonna click Western. And they're probably gonna click Invincible. It's just it's big.
SPEAKER_01Nah, I'm gonna really give it to JJK because let's be real. Invincible, you're cool and all, but you don't have the power of Gojo. If you have the power of the bro, everyone is good and great until Sotero Gojo comes to play. When Sotero Gojo comes to play, it's not power scaling, bruh. It's not power scaling, it's called aura scaling. There's a big difference.
SPEAKER_00Just wait till Thragso shows up.
SPEAKER_01The aura will never be Gojo.
SPEAKER_00Nah, nah. I mean, even even amongst anime, Gojo is a weird type of character. Goad it. Yeah, he just he's up there. The way they build him was dope.
SPEAKER_01Like literally, the bro, the mon the uh what's the dude? The fucking dude who talks or talks behind the actors. What's this called?
SPEAKER_00Like a voice actor? Like a dub?
SPEAKER_01No, the fucking dude who the moderator. The moderator says it better better than me.
SPEAKER_00Oh, the narrator.
SPEAKER_01The narrator. Why did I say moderator? Yeah, narrator. It's been talking for a while. The narrator, the narrator says it better than me. If you are in presence of Saturo Gojo, you understand that you are beneath him.
SPEAKER_00That's just hey, listen, that's just good storytelling, bro.
SPEAKER_01So Saturo Gojo in this com. Invincible doesn't have a Saturo Gojo. JJK has a Soturo Gojo.
SPEAKER_00JJK has swag. Like, I'm not gonna do it.
SPEAKER_01No, I want to say they went. Like Balenciaga got a collab with JJK. Does Balenciaga gotta collab with Invincible? Like, that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_00Does that really show you how goady you are? Yes. Like a lot of shows can get random collabs.
SPEAKER_01No, but that's designer.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, I I don't really I don't really think that says anything about numbers or or stats or stuff like that.
SPEAKER_01Okay, let's put it this way. Would you buy a $3,000 jacket? No. From Balenciaga? No. Okay. Would you buy an anime $3,000 jacket? Hell no. Okay, so you see how you're already out the price range? So your anime that you don't even buy anime gear. Well, you do buy anime gear, but you buy cheap anime gear. It's cool. They went to Balenciaga and said, yo. Oh no, I don't think I think it was Doji and Gabbana. I think it was Doji and Gabbana or Balenciaga. One of those two. Went there, got a collab with Gojo and Panda Gear. And those are like 3,000 to 5,000 for that outfit sold out. That's aura. Everyone has cheap fucking knockoff merch to give off. Invincible has it, JJK has it. To get a collab with a designer.
SPEAKER_00It's kind of the like the trendy thing.
SPEAKER_01And to get sold out.
SPEAKER_00Like if Invincible Like Crocs, for example, you know, even though they're not $3,000, like they're doing collabs with like Naruto, they're doing collabs with Pumpies. But those are cheap. That's like a cheap one. That's like a like a like.
SPEAKER_01Like Invincible's gonna get a croc. I promise you, Invincible will get a croc. I promise you, JJK will get a croc. Those are cheap ones. That's something that everyone in the community can buy. You can buy a croc, I can buy a croc. Can you buy a $3,000 hoodie?
SPEAKER_00No, but also I don't really think a lot of people can. Can you buy a $500 pin? Could, but I'm not gonna.
SPEAKER_01I know, like you could, but are you willing to buy a $500 designer, JJK, and whatever pen?
SPEAKER_00There's nothing special about a pen. There's nothing that special about a pen.
SPEAKER_01So that's what I'm saying. Like Invincible, yes, you're hot. Everyone in the Western loves you and all that shit. You do get your fame and ride. And see, the funny thing is JJK get that money.
SPEAKER_00The funny thing is, people that money on people on the other side of the world also like we don't know about it, right? Because there's so many numbers here based just here about a lot of these western shows. Then we're like, okay, the western side loves it. But we're just really talking about the US or or Canada or something like that, right? We're not even talking, like, we're not even talking about the whole other side of the world because I feel like Japan and all those countries down there, they probably care, they probably like the Western media just as much as we do, if not more, right? So we when we talk about numbers, sometimes we just talk about numbers on this side. We don't even know the numbers on that side. That could be more, but at the same time, we love anime, so we know how it rolls.
SPEAKER_01But then that's also flip though. They like their stuff more than they like Western, and then they do also watch our Western stuff, and they they like that as much. Yeah, no, for sure. I'm telling you right now, JJK is as popular here as it is there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't doubt it.
SPEAKER_01I don't I don't think you're gonna go over there and say, yo, I'm a bigger JJK fan. Because either side, they're both gonna have you beat. They they're fandoms. That's real.
SPEAKER_00No, yeah, yeah, for sure. I mean, having a JJ. I'll I'll probably I'll probably say the boys, just through and through, but I could be wrong.
SPEAKER_01Nah, I'm what I you you might, you know, it's a it's a toss-up because those are two popular shows. It's toss-up, but I'm gonna say the stats.
SPEAKER_00The stats are always iffy, too.
SPEAKER_01It is a little iffy. Yeah, it is iffy. When is the boys come out actually? I think next month. Next month? April something.
SPEAKER_00So we're right around the corner. Dude, we're eating. Prime is going hard right now.
SPEAKER_01We're eating fucking good right now. Eating fucking
GTA 6 Pricing And Pure Demand
SPEAKER_01good. Oh, bro, did you hear what the GTA CEO said?
SPEAKER_00What'd you say?
SPEAKER_01So the CEO of Rockstar came out on a tweet and said, It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter what I do, doesn't matter what we do. If you're over the age of 17, you're buying this game no matter what. Oh, absolutely. Doesn't matter what price I put on it.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. I mean, think about it, right? If you were born when the game came out, you would be 13 years old right now.
SPEAKER_03Damn.
SPEAKER_00If you were born in 2013, you would be 13 years old right now. When were you when you first started playing GTA 5? Like if you remember ish.
SPEAKER_01I think I was in high school.
SPEAKER_00So around that 15 to 16 range. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, me too. Honestly, around that time range, too. So a lot of those kids, we're not we're we're not even talking about people from our generation. We're talking about even 2013.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, I was 15.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like we're not even talking about our generation. We're talking about even people that were born in like the late, like early 2010s. You know what I mean? Like, if you were born in 2010, you're you're 16 right now. Like you're 16 years old, and that's for them, and then next year is 17. Yeah, next year you're 17.
SPEAKER_01So, and that's not even and you're making some money, and and you have enough money to buy the game. You you live with your mama, so you know. Yeah, no, everybody's buying that game.
SPEAKER_00Everybody's buying that game.
SPEAKER_01They're right. Everyone's buying that game, even you and your cheap ass and that's kind of crazy. They even got you, and you don't like pre-ordering shit, bro.
SPEAKER_00I mean, this is GT8 6, though. This is this is the game I've been waiting since I was in my early food.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_0010, you know, nine years old, maybe.
SPEAKER_01Let me see if I can get you out of this. Let me see if I can get you to wait. So if the game first comes out, day opening, first week, everyone's playing to get on the game, to even have it downloaded on your system, it cost you 250.
SPEAKER_00I'm buying it. Damn. I'm buying it.
SPEAKER_01Y'all don't understand how much that means. 250?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm paying. It's not gonna be that much, but I I'm paying. And standard. Yeah. Standard. Yeah. I'm paying it. No problem. Because me, I just know that game is going to be so massive and it's going to have so much like replay quality on the long term. And I'm pretty sure it's not just going to be a base game. I'm pretty sure they're building, they're also going to make it online, right? So like GTA 5. Online, GTA 5 has made Rockstar the most amount of money, probably more money than the base game did. So it's like they're going to give you a GTA online and it's going to be so it's going to transcend every other type of online game you can even think of. They're going to add everything that's blown up in the last 10, 13 years that they could be like, okay, we like what you did here, so we're going to implement it into our own multi-universal game that we're making.
SPEAKER_01So okay, now I'm about to break you. $500, and if you don't pay the $500, you gotta wait a year.
SPEAKER_00$500 is too much. I'm I'm not I'm not I'm not putting up that much money, to be honest.
SPEAKER_01I was about to say that's a station.
SPEAKER_00I mean, that's a that's a console. Like that's that's a console. That's a console, dude. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_02Are you really about to pay a console for one game?
SPEAKER_00Absolutely no. I'm not they're not getting that much money out of me. I mean, if that was the case, I would just buy me like a PlayStation 5 at that point. You know what I mean? And play whatever, all the other games they have and spend the rest 250 on other crap.
SPEAKER_01Well, you got you have an Xbox, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01The newer version?
SPEAKER_00The Series X, yes.
SPEAKER_01Okay, cool. Because it's only gonna be on Xbox and PlayStation for a year.
SPEAKER_00I know, which is crazy. Yeah, for a whole year. Dude, they're already talking about and they're already talking about the new generation of consoles. And I'm like, bro, we don't even have anything for the for the new generation right now. I think they did that.
SPEAKER_01I really do think they did that to make people buy PlayStation because they because they know that everyone's gonna be wanting to play the place online, and no one's on Xbox no more. Like, all like like people are on Xbox, don't get me wrong, but everyone who's in the generation of GTA, who was in that era of Xbox versus PlayStation Wars, PlayStation One, oh yeah,
PlayStation Xbox Steam Console Fight
SPEAKER_01we're all over here at PlayStation.
SPEAKER_00Long time ago. I mean, they they really won in the beginning, like it's just been one of those things. I mean, bro, even from like the even from the PlayStation, like the old old one back in the day, it the PlayStation 2, that they've been botting what Xbox has been for a long time. The only time Xbox really had a chance was back in the Halo 3 era.
SPEAKER_01But that that's what I'm saying. Halo 3 era was also the same era Xbox 360 was there.
SPEAKER_00Xbox One after that, it was over.
SPEAKER_01No, Xbox One was trash. Xbox One was trash, but X I don't even think you played an Xbox One. There's no way you played an Xbox. I own the Xbox One.
SPEAKER_00I own an Xbox 360 too. I loved it because it was white.
SPEAKER_01You had an Xbox.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I love the I love the my first Xbox was an Xbox 360. I loved it.
SPEAKER_01When you turn it on, you'd hear that Xbox 360?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm surprised.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you'd hear that beautiful, beautiful Xbox sound. Something color. It was green with uh with the Xbox, and they would have like the sphere, and then the X's would come from the back and cover it. Oh, it was so beautiful. I miss that Xbox. I hate the new sound that they give you when you turn on the Xbox series.
SPEAKER_01Because no one's playing that shit, nigga.
SPEAKER_00Motherfucker, that's not a fan thing, that's a company thing. They decided to get rid of it. I know. They've been making money hand over foot. COVID kind of set him back.
SPEAKER_01And then after that, they just abandoned they knew they knew people like you were gonna buy it no matter what, so they just said, fuck it, we're gonna do whatever.
SPEAKER_00Bro, like they completely abandoned the fan base. Like they abandoned everything about the fan base. It was it was really Xbox Series X that really killed whatever love that people had for the company.
SPEAKER_01PlayStation has no competition and they're still giving me bangers. I'm about to get Wolverine. Wolverine just became a you know Wolverine became a PlayStation exclusive?
SPEAKER_00Oh shoot. I'm not that shocked to be honest. PlayStation is always getting like pretty good exclusives. Halo, I mean Xbox is very good on that playing two fields things.
SPEAKER_01No, it's not for Xbox for PlayStation, you said, right? Yeah, no, but the exclusive part ain't for Xbox. That ain't that ain't their new box, that ain't their new person that they're mad at. Who isn't? Steam.
SPEAKER_00I mean, Steam is killing everybody though. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_01Steam is just powered. PlayStation is no longer gonna give you any of their games. So Steam, Steam will no longer have any of the God of War games, Spider-Man games, Wolverine games, any anything that has to do with PlayStation in Sony, they are forever, they are now no longer gonna give you freebie games. Because you y'all are beating them.
SPEAKER_00That's I feel like that's such a fumble. Like, that's gonna be.
SPEAKER_01No, it's not because y'all beating.
SPEAKER_00No, I mean, like, no, because I'm pretty sure, okay, yeah, maybe Steam is taking a lot of money, but I mean, PlayStation is getting a lot of that money too.
SPEAKER_01No, but how many indie games do y'all have that PlayStation can't get a hold of?
SPEAKER_00Well, a lot, because that's kind of what Steam is.
SPEAKER_01Like, remember when Power World came into play, it took PlayStation three months to get the IP for that. And it was on Steam right away, and it was on Steam right away, and everyone paid Steam first. Damn. So, like, if you really think about it, Xbox ain't their competition no more. They killed them to the ground. I don't even know why you still have one.
SPEAKER_00I love Xbox, What can I say?
SPEAKER_01I don't even know that that's not even that's not even a valuable statement at this point.
SPEAKER_00I mean, it is what it is, bro.
SPEAKER_01You're at a fucking funeral home.
SPEAKER_00I still use my Xbox. I didn't pay 500 bucks for nothing.
SPEAKER_01Oh, fuck it. You gotta use it or sell it. But definitely use it.
SPEAKER_00You're not selling it though.
SPEAKER_01Definitely use it. I would never sell any of my old consoles because I like to have them. You're not me because you wouldn't pay for a new console. But I like having all I want to like have all my consoles hanged up at like trophies.
SPEAKER_00My my my roommate still uses my Xbox One. It's brand new. Like, I used it for a couple, like I used it for a long time, but I never like abused it. So you look at it and it's like a tent condition. So he uses it, he uses it all the time, and I just I'm chilling at home.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so PlayStation kind of screwed you. So no, no matter what, you are no longer allowed to play the Wolverine game. I'm very excited to play that. But I really thought they were gonna put it, I really thought they were gonna put it out there, so that kind of sucks.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, it's about time, you know what I mean? Like, I I I have an Xbox and I loved Xbox at some point, but bro, you gotta feel the burn. You gotta feel the same type of burn that your fan base felt. And I know you don't give a shit, but it's about time you wake up and you realize that without the fans, you kind of don't have a lot. And you can kill Xbox, and that's fine, but then people are just gonna move on to Steam, and Steam is coming out with the don't console. So it's like Steam is gonna really bother.
SPEAKER_01But that's the reason why they did this.
SPEAKER_00The the PlayStation move?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and when you really yeah, the PlayStation move. And the real and like the real reason is because like people like you. And I blame I really do blame you, is the reason why we we got this. You wouldn't move to PlayStation and you got a Steam Deck. So you really just so you stayed on Xbox team. I love my handheld, like you stayed, uh, you know, handhelds, that's sick. But like you stayed on Xbox team, and also you went to Steam's team, and you never switched to PlayStation's team, but you were still playing PlayStation games, like Elden Ring. Elden Rings a PlayStation game. You will not you will not be able to play Elden Rings. That's crazy. Any of the Elden Rings or any of those games, you no longer yours. They will all be exclusive to PlayStation now.
SPEAKER_00That's gonna be That's really gonna cut Steam down though, because I feel like They had to No, like I feel like even Xbox will hop on that after a while, too. You know what I mean? All Assassin's Creed games gone. Ah, good thing, because they're fucking garbage. Garbage fucking absolute dog shit. You fucking Microsoft don't know how to make a fucking Xbox uh Assassin's Creed game if your life depended on it. I hope you guys bury that franchise because you guys don't deserve it no more.
SPEAKER_01I tried to give y'all a shout out. I shouldn't have done that, but but that's what I'm saying, bro. Every game that Sony owns now, all the new ones, y'all will not touch now. So even if you like Elden Ring, even if you like Skyroom, even if you like all the all the games, gone. Now, now your games are now only your Xbox exclusives and Steam exclusives. Well, Xbox exclusive now became because now became non-exclusive. So Halo's about to drop non-exclusive, the next Halo game. Yeah. So pretty much you got Steam exclusive and PlayStation exclusive going at it. That's why I said Damn, it's gonna get good. It's not for you no more, bro. No, it's gonna I guess. I blame you though.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I feel like at that point, Steam is really gonna have to step up and be like, instead of just taking different IPs, start creating IPs because I know that's kind of like their main focus is taking different IPs from different companies, giving them a cut, you know what I mean? Kind of going through that transactional thing. But it's like, bro, you have more than enough money to to actually put some good quality games, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But all you but that takes time and effort, and I don't know. Like, I don't know if these companies do it was just make me go like this. Okay, Xbox fans, come over. No, we have the games. No, you won't be able to play the new Spider-Man. We'll just go to Steam. I'm taking away all the games from Steam. No, oh my god. That's when all we PlayStation fans here are just like, dude, just help us out one fucking time. We could have had GTA on all platforms, we could have had everything. You wouldn't let Xbox die where it belonged in 2015, where it belonged to die. And now we're dealing with this war in a worse way now because y'all wouldn't let this Xbox franchise die where it stood.
SPEAKER_00No, and it's crazy because they're talking about the new generation of consoles, and they're talking about how they have a chip shortage. So that means that with the Steam Machine, that's probably gonna get delayed. Whatever Xbox. Yeah, whatever Xbox is planning, gonna get delayed. PlayStation also delayed. Like, you know what I mean? Do they really need to though? I mean, it's kind of like to be fair, the Xbox was kind of uh it's a good machine, but you you never gave me dessert with my plate. You know what I mean? Like you never really gave me good games to kind of invest into it. So at this point, that the Xbox, the Series X is beautiful and I love it. It's runs so smoothly. But after here, I'm like I'm gonna do that. No, I don't think so.
SPEAKER_01Oh great.
SPEAKER_00I mean, they're not on uh it's like a movie, they're a PlayStation exclusive, right?
SPEAKER_01I think you can get them on Steam.
SPEAKER_00On Steam, yeah. Oh, yeah, I have I think I bought one or two of them on discount.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like you can get the old version, you won't be able to get the new ones, but the so good. It was those are good games. That's what I'm saying. Like, I'm a PlayStation fan, so this doesn't affect me. But it was right when I heard it, I thought of you, and I was like, damn, this is all his fault.
SPEAKER_00Nah, I mean, bro, I'm just this is all your fault. I just really turned from love, support to anger. You know what I mean? At this point, I'm just angry at Xbox because they fumbled everything. Yeah, no, you fumbled the easiest bag, and you fumbled the easiest IPs, you literally fumbled everything you can think of. You lost everything.
SPEAKER_01Y'all Xbox fans thought y'all were about to have best of both worlds by being able to play on your Xbox, play your Xbox controller, and be able to hop on Steam and play everybody else's games. Now they just screwed you, and now you gotta play your weak ass Xbox games, which we all know are weak, and your Steams, which are good, but compared to these IPs, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, that Sony owns Sony's really the only one taking this war seriously. They won, but they're really the only ones still giving good quality products, which is why I love this company. Yeah, I mean, it's fair to be honest.
SPEAKER_01You know, we're about to get God of War, we're about to get the new Spider-Man game, we're about to get Wolverine. Like, you know, these I'm about to eat. I'm about to eat good. You're about to be over there starting. Like, the second the new Alden Ring comes, I get to go like this and be like, hey, you want to FaceTime me and watch me play?
SPEAKER_00I'm just gonna eat anger.
SPEAKER_01You're really gonna have to watch someone else play your favorite game.
SPEAKER_00We'll have fun. We'll see how it goes. I have I have faith in Steam. I have no faith in Xbox, but I got faith in Steam.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, you shouldn't have no faith in Xbox. I was about to say, no faith in PlayStation. That's kind of sad.
SPEAKER_00No, no, I mean, like, literally ever since like, you know, the old days. I mean, not even the old days, but like the last 10-15 years, Sony's really been the one investing.
SPEAKER_01Sony started the No that Game Pass shit was a smart idea.
SPEAKER_00But so they started raising it like crazy.
SPEAKER_01Well, you know, you had to you had to eat when you couldn't.
SPEAKER_00And then they they they told us for a minute because they tried to raise the price on us one time, and then people got angry, right? And they're like, bro, like why do we have to pay to play free games, basically? And they're like, for like a couple months, they're like, okay, you know what? We're not gonna double the yearly game pass, which was gonna go up to 120, was only like when it was only like 60. And they're like, we're not gonna raise it, and we're gonna give you the option to play free online games, right? And guess what? They took out, they took that out, so you can't play any free game now. You have to pay for the monthly pass. That's so stupid. That's so stupid, dude.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like I said, bro, they cooked y'all. That's what I'm saying. Y'all are so stupid for staying for so long. Now you're dedicated, like you have no choice because you have what two different Xbox consoles?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you really have no choice now. I'm just gonna pass it down to my family for when I get old.
SPEAKER_01Like, like at this point, you really just gotta wait for PS6 to make that choice now. Like, that's how deep you're in. Like, there's no way you can buy a PS5. No way, like this is impossible. You have the newest Xbox and you have the old Xbox that's in good condition, and a PC and a Steam Deck. There's no reason for you to get the PS5 now. Nah, yeah. You gave it a jump.
SPEAKER_00If I was gonna make the jump, I would have to wait for the new generation.
SPEAKER_01You have to wait for the six, you gotta wait for the new generation. There is no you are stuck now. So whatever game comes out right now, let it be known.
SPEAKER_00I can't get it.
SPEAKER_01Hey, when six comes out, bro, those are gonna be like a thousand dollar consoles, both of them, Xbox and fucking PlayStation. Fucking you know, they're trying to do the fucking they're trying to turn themselves into a computer, so they need RAM. Ram's gonna be that's $700 by itself.
SPEAKER_00By itself. So stupid, bro. But have faith in a company and they'll let you down.
SPEAKER_01No, you it's not having faith in a company that lets you down, it's having pure blind follow that will let the company down. Like faith. No, you just no, you gotta just see the product and realize that it was fallen.
SPEAKER_00Like when Halo Reach That's why you have faith that it might come back.
SPEAKER_01When Halo Reach came out, you should have realized right then and there this might be it.
SPEAKER_00Oh no, by that by the time that came out, it was already kind of over. No, you can't. It was already starting.
SPEAKER_01Because y'all still had got y'all still had uh what's it called? Gears of War, y'all still had y'all still had a couple of IPs that were still doing numbers back then. But y'all should have known.
SPEAKER_00Oh, but you say Reach? Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, no, that was that was back in the show. Halo Reach. No, no, I thought you were talking about the new one that just came out, the new Halo. That's why I'm like, by the time that came out, I wasn't gonna have to.
SPEAKER_01No, Halo Reach was your last strong.
SPEAKER_00That was back in the day.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but that was like your last strong hit.
SPEAKER_00That was after three, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like your last strong, like, hoorah, we are still Xbox moment. And now your Xbox moment is dead, it's cooked. There is no way in hell that you will be able to restart the Xbox like anything.
SPEAKER_00And the best thing Microsoft could do is invest into little shows now, like Sony.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, you're at a grave right now by yourself with your Rocco.
SPEAKER_00Give me, give me Microsoft, give me a good Halo show and I'll give you my soul. Don't give me none of that Paramount crap.
SPEAKER_01They're not gonna give you a good, they don't give you good anything. When was the give me something good? They're not gonna give you nothing good.
SPEAKER_00They've never given me anything except that Paramount crap. Stop lying to yourself like they're going to. That's I'm that's what I'm saying. If you give me something good, because you've never really given me anything. Bro, you're like a DC fan. I I am a DC fan. I love DC, but not that garbage, disgusting DCU.
SPEAKER_01Nope, it all makes sense now. You're a DC fan. You're gonna give them as many chances as it takes to
DC Fandom Spiral And Sign-Off
SPEAKER_01impress you.
SPEAKER_00Well, you know. As many. That DCU was a big disappointment. But that the new generation of DC's actually.
SPEAKER_01You were supporting the old DCU, though.
SPEAKER_00I've only went to watch like two. I went to watch, well, to be fair, Man of Steel was pretty solid. Batman versus Superman was disgusting. It was an abomination, literally. The Justice League, I think I might have had like a panic attack or something went down, so I walked out. The first one.
SPEAKER_01That was bad.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think I think I might have gone through a little something while watching it, so we had to leave.
SPEAKER_01Damn, man, that's bad. That's how bad that movie was. You got a panic attack?
SPEAKER_00I think so, bro. I was How do you get a panic attack? I was short out of breath. I don't know what it was. I don't know what it was, but we went to the hospital right away. Shout out to the boss.
SPEAKER_02He was like, what are they doing to us?
SPEAKER_00And then after that, we had the Suicide Squad, then the second Suicide Squad, which was good. Then we had the Batman.
SPEAKER_01I like the first one. I don't know why people hate on that one so much.
SPEAKER_00It was hambro. It was it was that Joker. He was just it was so funny.
SPEAKER_01I guess it must have just been.
SPEAKER_00It had to just because all the other actors were great. I mean, yeah, I mean, you know, Harley Quinn, they brought her back. Margaret Robbie, they brought it back. Great, great. I think she was kind of like the only person the only person they brought back. But then after that, finally they gave us a good Suicide Squad, which was really good. I like that one too. And then now we're in a new generation of DC. We had the Joker one, then we had that the same one.
SPEAKER_01It looks like you haven't gave up on them once. No, no, no. Like, no, like that's how I was.
SPEAKER_00That's how I was with the that's how I was with the old Marvel. Like, it's not that it was the hype. I just wanted to see it because the last one was good. So if the last one's good, the new one probably would be good. But I didn't I didn't see some of the DCU movies. It was just terrible.
SPEAKER_01I don't even remember one you said you didn't see.
SPEAKER_00I think I I didn't see the I did see the first Aquaman. That one was pretty good. Yeah. The first one was pretty good. I didn't see the second one, but no one did. Yeah. No one did. And then after that, you know, they gave me the Batman. Then they gave me the penguin show, which was amazing.
SPEAKER_02What haven't you seen? And then now we're on the room. We're on the James Gun Hero.
SPEAKER_00We're on the James Gun Hero.
SPEAKER_02So what the fuck are you talking about? I like these. I like these guys.
SPEAKER_00You didn't make one and I saw the Gotham show when it came out back in the day, too.
