Dabbling in Satanism, Met by Jesus in a Dream this is Molly’s Story

Instead, she found a Father who brings freedom, peace, belonging, and unconditional love. Her crippling anxiety lifted, hope returned, and her life began to change from the inside out. 

Today Molly is preparing for baptism, growing in community, worshipping Jesus, and boldly sharing her testimony to help others who feel trapped, fearful, or too far gone.

But with my history of, being a Satanist and being into witchcraft, I was still, even in the dream, very sceptical and was very offish and sort of didn't want to engage.

Today I've got a friend, Molly, who has been doing Alpha with me and she's got an incredible story and we're really excited to hear your story.

Molly, so go ahead, tell us your story.

Okay, so I was always sort of into like the mystical and the magical sort of things, even as a child.
00:01:05 Molly
I used to leave little letters to like fairies and things.
00:01:10 Molly
me and my mum always used to watch paranormal shows, ghost hunting, like sort of things.
00:01:18 Molly
And then as I grew up, I got quite interested in spirituality and things because we went for a walk in the woods as a family and there was something sort of like hanging in the tree.
00:01:28 Molly
We didn't really know what it was.
00:01:31 Molly
It could have been something that somebody just dumped or kids playing around or anything.
00:01:35 Molly
But being curious, I went to go and touch it and see what it was.
00:01:38 Molly
And my dad told me not to because witches could have made it, which obviously I didn't really believe.
00:01:44 Molly
And I was like, yeah, all right.
00:01:46 Molly
But yeah, he told me to go home and sort of research it, see for myself.
00:01:50 Molly
So I did.
00:01:51 Molly
And I got interested straight away.
00:01:54 Molly
And I thought, this is brilliant.
00:01:57 Molly
And it was all very sort of innocent and benign.
00:01:59 Molly
It was, you know, crystals, meditation, and like making little spell jars for like healing.
00:02:06 Molly
good luck, health, that sort of thing.
00:02:10 Molly
and then it sort of started to progress and, spiritual awakening sort of caught my eye and that sort of thing, but still quite innocent.
00:02:22 Molly
And then, I started finding out about Wicca and paganism and witchcraft, which I started to research quite a lot about and started to practice, which again was still very innocent.
00:02:35 Molly
And then round about 2019, near sort of COVID time, maybe just before, on TikTok it was trending that there was, it was like Witchtok and paganism and deity worship.
00:02:52 Molly
So I went from worshipping different gods to different gods and looking at different pantheons, but it never really fully felt right and it never really fully
00:03:04 Molly
it just didn't sit right and it didn't work as much as I was trying to make it work by, looking at different gods and practicing different things.

It wasn't working at all.
00:03:17 Molly
But yeah, and eventually after that, I got into theistic Satanism, which you can have two different types.
00:03:24 Molly
There's atheistic, which is like the Church of Satan and things like that, which is more of like political activism.
00:03:33 Molly
But this was like essentially devil worship and worshipping demons and things like that, which sayings obviously sounds wrong, but at the time it seemed empowering because there were, it was like romanticized essentially, because demons like Lilith was seen as a goddess of like

female empowerment, beauty, it was something that somebody my age would have wanted and looked up to.
00:04:06 Molly
Yeah, and that happened for about a year and it felt good at the time, but looking back it obviously wasn't, it was very dark.
00:04:17 Molly
And I remember we had these sort of books and it was literally called The Songs of the Devil.
00:04:24 Molly
And I didn't really know anything about God or the Bible or anything like that.
00:04:28 Molly
But looking back now, because obviously I've read the Psalms and stuff, it's literally basically a carbon copy, but just replacing God with the devil.

And so obviously the messages were quite positive, but it wasn't.
00:04:43 Molly
It was just sort of subtle manipulation, which is quite ironic now because the author is now Christian.

which I think a lot of people who were or are into Satanism things either have or will probably turn to God.
00:05:01 Molly
But yeah, after a little while, I started to have some doubts.
00:05:06 Molly
I was still sort of practicing and still trying to make it work, but I knew something wasn't quite right.

And then yeah, a few weeks later or a couple of months later,

I had a dream where we were in a sort, it was me and my family in a little house in the Middle East and it just felt like normal.

My mum was cooking dinner, me and my brother at the table just in conversation, my dad was out and about around the house and there was a knock at the door.

My dad opened it and there was a man there and I remember

But anyway, my dad invited him in and he sat at the table with us.

He ate dinner, didn't say a word to me at all, which was great for me because I didn't want to, you know, I didn't want to engage in him.

But then at the end of the meal, he just turned to me and told me that I was loved and I was still very sceptical.
00:06:41 Molly
And I was like, but I'm pagan, I'm into witchcraft.
00:06:44 Molly
You don't love me.
00:06:46 Molly
And he said, no, I love you especially because you're pagan.
00:06:50 Molly
And then that sort of part of the dream ended.
00:06:55 Molly
And then I remember that, you know, a bit later on in the dream, Jesus was walking down this sort of pathway.
00:07:02 Molly
There was houses either side of it and he was walking down and there was just
00:07:08 Molly
hundreds of people either side of the path, just sort of like cheering, shouting, some people were crying.
00:07:16 Molly
I remember that there was somebody like, at the time it seemed really weird, that somebody was sort of washing his feet with their hair, which I didn't know the significance of until later when I read about Mary Magdalene washing his feet, which is a weird thing to dream about, especially not knowing about it.
00:07:34 Molly
But I think that maybe Jesus
00:07:37 Molly
gave me that vision to sort of clarify it later and as sort of validation that what this dream was real.
00:07:47 Molly
But yeah, and as he was walking down, he was just straight eye contact with me the whole time.
00:07:51 Molly
It's like he didn't really acknowledge anything else going, you know, happening around him.
00:08:00 Molly
Yeah, and I remember that there was just straight down his middle was a glowing white cross.
00:08:07 Molly
the whole time and the dream ended.
00:08:12 Molly
The feeling after that dream was mental.
00:08:16 Molly
I mean, I couldn't shake it.
00:08:17 Molly
I tried to ignore it for ages, but I just couldn't.
00:08:23 Molly
And then I came across a book called, I think it's Mary Magdalene Revealed, which I don't know why I became interested in reading that, but I did.

So I started reading it and it was about
00:08:36 Molly
Mary Magdalene, it was about her story and that's how I really got introduced into who Jesus was because there was elements of the gospel in there.
00:08:47 Molly
And yeah, that really sort of shifted my perspective of what Christianity was because I hated it, to be honest with you, and I'm not proud to say it, but I did.

It was, it just seemed like such a controlling religion
00:09:06 Molly
and that God would claim to love you, but there was no evidence of that.
00:09:13 Molly
But yeah, after reading that book, that with the dream just completely changed my mind of everything and I became really curious.
00:09:22 Molly
So I just thought, maybe start praying to do more research into Christianity.
00:09:27 Molly
So I did.
00:09:29 Molly
Started to pray, nothing really happened, didn't really feel anything.
00:09:34 Molly
And I, continued to do my research and things like that.
00:09:37 Molly
But after a little while of doing that, I thought, okay, right, best way to research it is to read the Bible.
00:09:45 Molly
So I did.
00:09:46 Molly
And then I read, the first book I read was Matthew and then, bits of the Psalms and Proverbs.

And that just changed everything for me.
00:09:57 Molly
It was like, it was so relevant in this day and age, which I didn't think it could be.
00:10:04 Molly
but it really was and it felt like it was talking directly to me and I felt so loved through the word and I just wanted to be a better person and it's sort of like a fire was sort of ignited in me and I just knew that this was true and that it was right and this is what I was meant to be doing.

And so yeah, I started worshipping God, I started to read the Bible daily and that was great.
00:10:32 Molly
but I wanted more.
00:10:34 Molly
So I reached out to a friend who I knew was religious.
00:10:39 Molly
I hadn't really spoken to him for about two years.
00:10:43 Molly
And yeah, I just asked about, what churches were in the area where I should, start going to church.
00:10:51 Molly
And he invited me to his.
00:10:53 Molly
And I went for the first time in June.
00:10:56 Molly
And it was incredible.
00:10:57 Molly

Again, it was like it was personal to me and it was really speaking to me and I nearly cried.

during the first song because it was just so powerful and the amount of people there worshipping and just full of gratitude and full of love really, really moved me.

And I've kept going since.

I've done Alpha or doing Alpha and that's been amazing as well.
00:11:24 Molly
The conversations that we've had with different people, it's just, it's been great.
00:11:30 Molly
And now in
00:11:33 Molly
at the end of November, I'm going to be being baptised, which is really exciting.
00:11:38 Molly
Nervous, but really exciting because I really just want to fully dedicate myself and my life to Jesus because he's done so much for me and in my life.

Yeah, that's my story.

So in the dream, how did you know that this man, you didn't grow up in a Christian home at all, did you?
00:12:08 Jem
So how did you figure out that this guy was Jesus or this man was Jesus?
00:12:14 Molly
It was just like an, I just knew straight away it was something in my heart that just, I just knew it straight away.
00:12:21 Molly
And the look that he gave me, which was just pure, unconditional love, it couldn't have been from anybody else other than God.

Wow.

Yeah.

And what does your, what do people around you think about this dream and what you've had like, has your testimony shocked anyone?
00:12:42 Jem
Like have people seen the change in you?
00:12:45 Molly
Oh, people have definitely seen the change in me.
00:12:47 Molly
I mean, my mum says that when, you know, before when I was a Satanist and doing all of that, I was quite, I didn't realise it at the time, but she noticed I was quite depressed and very anxious.
00:12:58 Molly
I mean, for the first three months of working, I'd literally every single day before work, I'd just be gagging down the street because my anxiety was so bad.
00:13:09 Molly
But ever since I've become Christian, that hasn't happened once.
00:13:14 Molly
And yeah, she says that I'm so much happier now.
00:13:17 Molly
And I can see that as well, which is great.
00:13:22 Molly
But a lot of people in my life are also very sceptical, like my friends.
00:13:26 Molly
And my family still are very confused, I think, as to why I've become Christian, because they never saw that coming and neither did I.

Yeah.

And at the beginning, you were dabbling in like, just on TikTok and, tarot cards, all that kind of thing.
00:13:48 Jem
And obviously it's started out what people would say innocent.
00:13:52 Jem
But what would you say to people that are even like,
00:13:55 Jem
doing and looking at that, like having crystals, like what would you say to people about how that starts and how, that took you obviously down a path of Satanist worship, which seemed even innocent at the time.
00:14:09 Jem
What would you say to people about that?
00:14:11 Molly
Just be aware.
00:14:13 Molly
I'm not going to say don't do it because if somebody told me not to do it, I would have done it anyway.
00:14:17 Molly
That was the whole point.
00:14:19 Jem
Yeah.
00:14:20 Molly
But yeah, just be very aware because it can get very dark very quickly.
00:14:25 Molly
I mean, even in Satanism, straight off the bat, you think very dark.
00:14:31 Molly
But it was being painted out as sort of like a father and somebody looking out for you and somebody trying to free you from God, which again, sounded all right at the time, but
00:14:42 Molly
It just wasn't true.
00:14:44 Molly
And like I said, even the authors of the books that were sort of leading this theistic Satanism are now Christian.
00:14:52 Molly
I mean, yeah, you've just got to be very careful.

Wow, that says it all, doesn't it, that they're now Christian, the people who wrote those books?
00:15:01 Molly
Yeah.
00:15:02 Announcer 
It's amazing that Jesus has come.
00:15:04 Announcer 
I think of the story of the 99, you know, when Jesus leaves the 99 to go and find the one.
00:15:08 Announcer 
And I think that's what he's done with you, right?
00:15:10 Molly
Yeah, I think he was trying to take me out of that place.
00:15:13 Jem
I listened to a podcast with a guy that was a Satanist and he said like the Bible, the Satan's Bible was basically a book for people that don't belong and they want to belong in something.
00:15:26 Jem
And that's like you're saying like he's painted as like the father, but obviously we know that's not true.
00:15:32 Jem
It'd be really good if you could sort of like highlight the difference between that and the real father.
00:15:41 Molly
Yeah.
00:15:42 Molly
So Satan is depicted, like you say, as a father and as somebody who wants you to belong.
00:15:49 Molly
Like he knows you're an outcast and wants to, you know, sort of, you know, father you and create a place for you.
00:15:59 Molly
But in reality, he's actually
00:16:01 Molly
making you more of an outcast and isolating you more so that you rely on him, when in reality God is the one who says that you are unique, that you belong anyway, and that he tries to make you a better person and to integrate you.

He wants a community.
00:16:19 Molly
That's what church is all about.
00:16:21 Molly
It's a community of believers and being the body of Christ, which Satan didn't want that.
00:16:26 Molly
There was no community.
00:16:27 Molly
It was just you and yourself and
00:16:31 Molly
rather than, it's about finding strength in yourself, which again sounds great.
00:16:36 Molly
But God doesn't, he doesn't say rely on your own strength or understanding.
00:16:40 Molly
He says, come to me and he will, you know, support you and he will lighten your burden.
00:16:45 Molly
Because I think a lot of life is too much for one person to handle.
00:16:50 Molly
And God wants to be that friend and that father to take that burden from you or support you with it.
00:16:57 Molly
Satan didn't want that.
00:16:58 Molly
He wanted to sort of oppress you with your own burdens and keep you from other people and keep you from finding the true Father.

That's really good.

You've spent also a bit of time with the Bible now, haven't you?
00:17:10 Announcer 
Because I know that from Chanti before.
00:17:12 Announcer 
Is there a particular book or anything you like or a verse or anything that you, is there a particular place in the Bible where you've been hanging out, if you know what I mean?
00:17:19 Molly
Yeah, I like the Gospel of John A lot.
00:17:24 Molly
I think it's
00:17:26 Molly
14 up to 17 chapters, yeah, about like the true vine.
00:17:34 Molly
I really like that verse, that well chapter about abiding in Jesus and he will abide in you and being one with the Father and one with Jesus because for me I never feel far from him reading that.

I just feel like he's always with me as long as I'm always with him and even if I do stray
00:17:54 Molly
He's always there and he won't judge and he will always forgive.
00:17:58 Molly
And I just hope that for everybody who does double into witchcraft as well, that you're never too far gone, that he will always be there to receive you no matter what you've done or, yeah, no matter what your past is.

Yeah, I love that you say that because I think some people will be listening to us and feeling quite a lot of fear because Satan likes to, he's the, he loves fear.

He loves to control people with fear.
00:18:22 Jem
And I just, I love that because your experience is sounds like it was just so easy.

Whereas I think some people would be quite fearful of turning their back on all of that witchcraft and that control.

I mean, it's quite powerful, isn't it?

Yeah.

It's real, isn't it?

Is real, yeah.

And I think people think it's mystical and it's all, but it's real and it's,

do you have anything to say, just to encourage people that are in that place that maybe you were and feeling fearful?

Don't, it's easier said than done, but don't be afraid of turning away from it because God will always be there and he will always be there to protect you.

He's your loving father.

He wants you to be safe.
00:19:08 Molly
He wants you to be happy.

He wants the best for you.

And I don't think turning away from him, in a way, it's sort of

an insult.

I don't say that horribly, but in a way it's a bit of an insult to him because he can overcome all evil.

So turning your back on witchcraft or Satanism isn't going to be a challenge for him.

He can overcome that.

You're safe with him.

Yeah, I wouldn't be afraid.

And also this, to be honest, this, you know, being an opportunity a year ago, I wouldn't have even imagined

going to church, I would have said you were mental.

Yeah, it's just been a crazy journey and I'm so grateful that it's happened.

I've met so many great people because of it.

I've now got a community.

I'm so much happier.

My anxiety is still there, but it is not nearly as bad as what it was.

And I didn't, wouldn't have ever dreamed that I would actually be, talking on a podcast about it to people.
