It's almost like it's sucking like energy or something from me.

As that's happening, the pain around my mouth is, and pins and needles, it's horrible.

So I think I just start with my background.

So I wasn't raised Christian.

00:01:51 Speaker 2

I was born in Kent.

00:01:54 Speaker 2

And then when I was six months old, my family, my parents, we moved to Africa.

My dad was an entrepreneur.

00:02:04 Speaker 2

He's passed away now.

00:02:07 Speaker 2

And he was

00:02:10 Speaker 2

I would say he was quite a troubled man.

00:02:12 Speaker 2

He suffered from depression and highs and lows, I'd say.

00:02:20 Speaker 2

My mum, very competent woman, quite traditional, quite conservative with a small C, but not very emotionally available lady.

But showed her love in other ways and she's

00:02:40 Speaker 2

always did her best for us.

00:02:41 Speaker 2

So I'm the eldest of four and I was kind of like my mum's right-hand woman, so I kind of adopted some of her characteristics.

We would go to church at Easter and Christmas, my mum with her traditions, really, but it wasn't about, there wasn't anything particularly spiritual about it.

was traditional.

I was

in the nativity at school.

00:03:08 Speaker 2

We did come back to England when I was five years old and I went to a little school in Shoreham.

And I just remember being in the nativity and what I do remember at school was they told us in class the story of Zacchaeus, the tax collector.

And

It just, even at 6 years old, something about it just hit me and I, it was like the fact that Jesus was there for the, unpopular person, the bad person.

So that stayed with me, kind of went in the back of the, in the back of the memory files.

So life at home was a bit volatile.

My dad did turn to drinking to sort of medicate his depression and difficult, difficulties with handling life.

So there would be arguments.

My dad would sometimes forget to pick me up from school.

00:04:17 Speaker 2

And I was very, so I'm about 7, 8 at the time, and I just interpreted that as, oh, my dad doesn't love me.

So, which looking back I know that he did, it was his own troubles, but obviously that hits you as a child.

I remember being very scared of the dark as a child and I used to escape into fantasy.

So I loved the CS Lewis books, Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, but also there was an author called Susan Cooper and

It was, I suppose she was like an old JK Rowling, but it was all very, it was about the 7th son of a 7th son.

It was a little boy was the main character and it was all sorcery and that sort of thing.

00:05:14 Speaker 2

And that again really hooked me into that.

00:05:19 Speaker 2

I remember wishing that was real.

00:05:22 Speaker 2

But when I was 12, I was watching a film, not a film, a TV programme and I think it was about, it was a science programme.

Now up until this point, I just assumed that God existed in a childlike way.

But I was watching this science programme and I can't remember what they said, but I just was like, oh, so God isn't real.

00:05:50 Speaker 2

it's science, we're just here by accident.

00:05:52 Speaker 2

And so at 12, that was it.

I became an atheist and also started to kind of think that science was the answer to everything.

So throughout this time, I was always, I always had a yearning inside me.

I felt like something was missing.

00:06:13 Speaker 2

So as I got into my teenage years, I thought it was because I'm looking for the one, you know, wants to fall in love.

and I got obsessed with rom-coms and Disney films.

00:06:23 Speaker 2

I went to college and studied sociology, A-level, and I became a feminist and hated patriarchy and then really hated religion and decided that was all the male trying to suppress women.

That, you know, I was young, I was about

00:06:46 Speaker 2

17, 18 and I kind of became a bit of a militant feminist for that period.

00:06:51 Speaker 2

Then I went to university and that's where my drinking really took off.

00:06:56 Speaker 2

I started to party very hard and it was then it was just sort of serial relationships and drinking and partying with some studying in between.

00:07:13 Speaker 2

And then I went to work, I got a job in, I didn't really know what I wanted to do with my life so I just got a job at an office and I was, and I was about 30, I had a bereavement and at this point I'm still an atheist and I'm still very much science but I was interested in

some certain supernatural things.

00:07:46 Speaker 2

I thought, possibly there was telepathy was real, things like that.

00:07:50 Speaker 2

But we just, the science hadn't explained why yet.

00:07:53 Speaker 2

But then I had this bereavement, which I hadn't told anybody about.

00:07:57 Speaker 2

And I was quite, I used to be very suppressed, suppressive of my feelings.

And a friend phoned me and she left a message on my phone saying that she'd been to see a spirit medium.

00:08:09 Speaker 2

And the medium had a message for me.

from my dead loved one and it was all spot on what she said and I just remember hitting my knees and crying and that was the gateway.

I then became obsessed with spirit medium programmes on TV.

So there was Colin Fry and John Edwards who's an American guy and I'd watch them and they'd be getting these messages from dead loved ones

And for me, it was really reassuring because I'd thought when you die, that's it, it's over.

Now I thought, oh, everyone goes somewhere.

00:08:50 Speaker 2

And yeah, so I was, that was kind of like my gateway in.

And then I began my obsessive spiritual seeking.

So I was like, okay, there is a spiritual world and now I need to understand it and know what goes on and what happens.

And I really wanted to know that my loved one was okay.

So I got into the new age.

00:09:16 Speaker 2

I would never ever have called myself a new ager.

00:09:21 Speaker 2

And what it is, what I was into, it's called syncretism.

So this is, I would be looking at different religions, beliefs, spirituality, and amalgamating it, what the bits I liked from each to

understand the world and that's how I saw the world.

And I believed all roads lead to God and I believed that as long as you were a good person trying to do the right thing, that you would get there.

So my core beliefs, I was in that for 20 years and I did loads of courses, reading, researching.

So the core beliefs that I had was that we are all one, everybody is, we're all one and the separation of people is an illusion.

God is in everything and in everyone, which is called pantheism, and that we are all co-creating our reality.

So

our thoughts create reality and everything that happens in our lives, we're attracting it by our thoughts.

I believe that all our answers are within and we just need to learn how to access them.

We've all forgotten how powerful we are and we're afraid of how powerful we are.

So, and that the system, you know, is trying to suppress that and keep it down.

It's very works-based

religion, I'll call it now, would never have said, I'm not religious, I'm spiritual, not religious, very proud of that.

And a lot of my friends in that world are the same.

So yeah, it was about self-help, self-healing, self-care, self-empowerment, self-development, self-love.

So self, self, self, self.

It was very self.

Is this like manifesting as well?

Yes.

So that's huge right now, isn't it?

Manifesting and manifestation.

I mean, people talk about this like everyone's doing it, but actually is that, would you say that's rooted in all of this new age?

100%.

Yeah, it is.

Law of attraction.

Yes, It's so deceptive, isn't it?

And it is deliberately being promoted by the dark side to draw people in.

To get what you want.

And you are opening a doorway.

So at the time I thought your thoughts create reality and it was almost like a scientific thing.

So you're like emanating out a positive thought so you will be drawing that back or you are, I had vision boards so I've got my dream house on the board and that is then the universe is conspiring to bring that into my reality.

What I now believe, and I 100% believe that, but what I now believe is that when you are doing that, because the thing is it did work, it was working, but when you're doing that, you are contracting with spiritual forces, and it's not energy, it's spiritual beings that are working behind the scenes to bring you that, and they are dark.

And they will come for payment.

But you may not be, I was completely unaware of that.

00:13:14 Speaker 2

And when I get to the bit later in my testimony, but the things that were happening to me, that was because I'm completely unwittingly contracting with these dark beings.

Yeah, no, it's, and it's really important because that's where I was very deceived.

Yeah, so, and before I, did, I started having therapy, which was good, and trying to address some of my woundedness.

And I got into, I went to

AA, Alcoholics and Lummus, and I stopped drinking, which was really good.

Now, the good thing about the 12-step programme, so this was in 2011, they say about having a relationship with God and praying to God.

So for the first time since I was a child, I started praying to God, and for the first time since I was a child, I felt like there was a person listening to me.

And God did answer some of those prayers.

But then in the 12-step recovery, it's very much like a God of your understanding.

So, I mean, God is so good because he still responded to someone who didn't know him.

but I didn't know him.

00:14:48 Speaker 2

But I knew that you still knew there was someone that there's somebody there, there's something there.

And I started to believe in a person, personified God.

00:14:57 Speaker 2

But then I got into meditation and mindfulness and Eastern mysticism.

And then God becomes source, nebulous energy type thing.

00:15:09 Speaker 2

And you can't have a relationship with that.

00:15:13 Speaker 2

So

the relationship disappears and then it's all on you.

00:15:19 Speaker 2

So I believed in Jesus.

00:15:24 Speaker 2

I thought he was an ascended master and he came to show us all what we're really capable of.

So we all, once we become enlightened and we become like, you know, we get our thoughts aligned, our actions aligned, we can become like Jesus.

And

00:15:42 Speaker 2

then we can ascend to a higher dimension.

00:15:46 Speaker 2

And I believe that Jesus was the age of Pisces, the age of the fish, and that was also the age of the guru.

So we were told on the courses I went on that, you know, now we're moving into the age of Aquarius and that's all about, it's not the

You don't look to a guru anymore.

00:16:09 Speaker 2

That's disempowering.

00:16:10 Speaker 2

It's now about self-empowerment and it's about spiritual and technological advancement and evolution, but you are doing it yourself.

If you look to a guru, you're giving it away.

00:16:22 Speaker 2

And Christ consciousness

00:16:27 Speaker 2

was what we were aiming for.

00:16:28 Speaker 2

So the second coming was about Christ consciousness, not about actual Jesus returning, but you becoming like Jesus, becoming enlightened, then you get Christ consciousness.

And once the whole world has become like that, then the whole world changes to a new earth that we're all manifesting and believing in.

So that's where I was spiritually.

I think when the reason that people are drawn to the new age practices are because we want guidance, what job to do, what partner to get.

We want physical healing and there's all these energy healings and Reiki and crystals and massage and body work and mental and emotional healing, so the mindfulness and meditation.

So all of those things I wanted.

And for me as well, I was very obsessed with spiritual progression.

00:17:32 Speaker 2

So we did shadow work, which is looking at your negative patterns and working out what needs to change.

There's a big emphasis on forgiveness.

And it's very, it's so contradictory.

00:17:48 Speaker 2

And now I can see this, it's sort of gaslighting, but at the time I couldn't see it.

But

It's about forgiveness.

You forgive people.

00:17:56 Speaker 2

But then they teach you that there's no right or wrong.

And the real forgiveness is when you realise there's nothing to forgive.

So if someone nicks your wallet, there's nothing to forgive because it really hasn't happened and everything's an illusion.

So it's a bit crazy making, but at the time it made sense to me.

And also it's all about following your heart.

and that your heart, the real thing.

So again, I think this is why it appeals to women so much.

It's like emotions, your heart.

And if you follow that, that's the right thing to do.

So, you know, when I became a Christian and it says that the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked that, and that's true.

You know, I followed my heart and it led me into some crazy situations.

But there's no such thing as

evil.

00:18:52 Speaker 2

There's only broken people.

There's no such thing as the devil.

That was invented by the church to control people.

So that's what I was thinking.

I got into, I was reading like the Gnostic gospels, the Gnostic text.

So these are supposedly the Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of Mary Magdalene and which are

scholars, they're fake.

They're not by the people they say they are.

I was into hermeticism, so really studying these things that were written in the Emerald Tablets, these ancient Egyptian things.

I really loved all of that.

And then I was also going to see channelers and following channelers.

So, you know, people that channel supposedly higher beings, they might be often they're like good aliens or

ascended masters, which could be Jesus, that Jesus, not our Jesus, Buddha, various, various spiritual figures throughout all the things.

And what I noticed was that they, so a lot of the channelers, and I knew some of them personally, they were like, I never read a book, and they would get all of this very,

interesting wisdom through them.

And I'd recognise it.

I'd say, well, you know, what you're teaching is Gnosticism, or what you're teaching is Hermeticism, because a lot of people aren't crossing over and seeing that.

So it's interesting, they are not getting it.

The beings that are talking through them clearly want to teach people what is in the Gnostic and Hermetic texts and things.

So that's interesting.

And when you say channelling, is that some sort of spiritual, like, really they're talking to the dark side.

Is that what that is?

So they would either, yeah, so what I know now at the time, I would think either they're hearing, they're talking in their head and they're hearing a

what I thought was a light being, a good alien, an ascended master, talking back to them.

Or sometimes that person disappears and the being comes through and talks through them.

Yeah, that's what I've heard about channeling.

So it's really dark, isn't it?

That kind of...

So it's possession.

And they're they are willing.

And they're quite open that it's possession in a way, aren't they?

They're quite like, well...

That is, that's why it is, that's, they know that they're doing that sort of thing.

Yeah, but they wouldn't think it was demonic.

They think it's light, the light, and it's the alien.

They're here to help us.

They're trying to help humanity, so they're going to come in and talk through us because they're very wise.

But as Christians, it's so, that's so obviously possession and that's quite, that seems extreme, isn't it, channeling?

And a lot of people are doing this channeling stuff, aren't they?

Okay, just wanted to clarify that because it's a lot of these words are like, I don't know a lot of, I don't know, it's just, there's a lot of, there's a, I mean, you were into a lot of stuff, weren't you?

A lot of long words here.

Yeah.

And people just might not know, like even what channeling means, but that, yeah, it's just, wanted to clarify.

So I never did channeling myself, but I would.

meditate, I would clear my mind and I would get messages coming in my head.

And sometimes I would do automatic writing, which is channeling actually.

So I'd write with my non-dominant hand and just let whatever words came across.

I didn't even know what words they were until I read them back.

And at the time I thought it was my spirit guides trying to help me with life and trying to help me spiritually evolve.

but I have found some pieces of paper with some of those messages on and now I think, oh, that's really scary.

So one of the messages I found on there was, oh, you know, Charlotte, you must follow what we say and follow what we do, even if it sounds odd.

Love and like the Lords of Karma.

And it's interesting that they call themselves the Lords of Karma because I would never,

if even that wouldn't have come from me.

That's that I wasn't interested in that and I always was uncomfortable with the word karma.

So again, it was, but yeah, but I mean, and there's a grooming that goes on with these spirit guides in that they do, you're always asking them for help or I was like, and then you, things do happen and they do help you, but then they're like, oh, to progress.

do this, or they put little ideas in your head to progress, do this.

And then it's kind of like they're grooming you to go a step further, a step further, which is it's always a step away from Jesus.

It's a step away from God and towards them and more deception and more and towards the darkness, I think.

Yeah, so I was teaching meditation.

I was teaching manifestation as well.

And I, but at the same time I was, the good thing about New Age was there was a lot of good nutrition, so I was eating well, I was exercising, I'd got sober, I'd got a good job, I met a really nice man after lots of very messed up relationships and I'd settled down, I was now in a nice house, nice partner, dream job and

And then I was doing my spiritual practices and I would have said I was very, very happy.

And I thought, I've got it.

00:25:07 Speaker 2

There was all, I thought I'd met the one, but there was still, what I noticed was there's still this yearning, there's still this something missing.

But I just thought, well, once I'm enlightened, that will go.

So anyway, I thought I was on track.

I thought I was a good person.

00:25:25 Speaker 2

I thought it was all.

good.

There was just one problem in my life and that was I was having night terrors.

And I'd not, I'd had nightmares as a child but I'd not really suffered, wasn't a person that had suffered with nightmares particularly for a long time.

So and with my mindset and that you is what you attract I was

00:25:55 Speaker 2

I was like, but I'm doing everything right.

00:25:57 Speaker 2

I went to see my homeopath and she gave me remedies for it.

They didn't work.

I went to see my energy healer.

I went to see all these things and nothing was stopping these night terrors.

And I knew, I was like, well, I'm happy.

But I would sit up in the bed at night, screaming sometimes, shouting for help.

Sometimes I'd remember them, sometimes I wouldn't.

And I had started getting, so again, when I was a child, I sometimes got this sleep paralysis, but I started getting sleep paralysis.

So this is where I'd wake up, but I would be locked inside my body in nothing.

I'd be awake, but my whole body would be frozen.

My eyes would be frozen shut.

I couldn't move my head, couldn't even move my eyes, couldn't speak.

And I'd just feel panicky and I would be

for ages just trying, if I could just move one bit of my body, just an eyelid, or try and turn my head and then eventually I could move.

So I was getting that, which is horrible.

And I was also, some mornings I was waking up, I'd slept really deeply, but I'd wake up exhausted.

And I had all over my body this bruised sensation under my skin.

So if anyone sort of touched me, I'd be like, and it was all over.

And also then I started to notice that like scratches were appearing on my arms, up and down my arms.

And I showed my partner and I said, what's that?

How's that happening?

And on my shoulders as well.

And, the...

the sense of trying to rationalize it, I went to my, I thought, is it just menopause?

So am I going through the menopause?

So I was meditating every morning and I was going to all my various practices.

And you do normally with the new age stuff, you get temporary relief, but something comes back.

But with this stuff, it wasn't going.

I started doing, I decided to start learning the tarot cards.

which before I'd only done angel cards, but I thought I got messages.

I felt like I'm being led to do the tarot.

And I got very friendly with the tarot teacher who was a lovely woman.

And we went for coffee and she said to me, my Christian friends are praying, keep saying they're praying for me.

And she sort of rolled her eyes and I rolled my eyes and I said, oh, I bet it doesn't even say in the Bible you can't do the tarot.

And

And I said, I think Jesus did the tarot and I think he was an astrologer.

So, and I had, I collected spiritual teachers like badges and I had, I'd got a mentor who I'd heard on YouTube who was an ex-mystic.

I knew he was a Christian, but I just figured he'd been into the hermeticism and all that stuff.

And I figured

I thought, there's nothing, I thought Christian, you could be like multi-faith, which is what I was.

So I'd started seeing him and he'd said to me, I knew that he knew the Bible.

So I went to him and I said, does it say in the Bible, it doesn't say you can't do tarot.

So he said in Deuteronomy 18, verses 10 to 12, he said, well, no, it says that you can't, but

Then he said, demons love that stuff to me.

And I was, I thought, oh.

So I actually dropped out of the course and I put the cards away.

This same mentor, I had told him about an early experience I'd had, which about 12 years ago, where I'd sort of come out of my body and gone into like a black place, which

Now, when I watched Stranger Things, it was like, oh, that's what it was like.

And I'd seen this really hideous entity.

And he said to me, he said, oh, if you ever see anything like that, then just say, I cast you out in the name of Jesus.

He said, anything like that is terrified of Jesus.

So he told me that very early on when I'd started seeing him.

So I then started researching the roots of the beliefs that I had and I looked into Helena Blavatsky and Alice Bailey who were all about light, you know, light bearers, ascended masters.

They had channeled information.

They had written all these books and a lot of, they're really the roots of a lot of this stuff in.

Alice Bailey had a plan and she had connections and that this needs to, she was writing in 1925 or something, this needs to go out to society.

And I would say what's happening now on witch talk and everywhere is the, is her plan in action.

She had, there's directors of the UN and stuff that are

were inspired by Bailey and things like that.

So she believed it was for good, but I then was reading her work and I was a bit, I had some alarm bells and then both, she openly in her work worshiped Lucifer and Blavatsky worshiped Satan.

So I was thinking, okay, I know, I don't really believe the Bible, but I'm pretty sure that Satan's the bad guy.

So that had been going on.

And then one night I had sleep paralysis and I couldn't move, I couldn't speak, but I just remembered what my mentor had said.

And so I just thought the words, I cast you out in the name of Jesus.

And it stopped instantly.

And there was no struggling, no straining.

And there was a sense of power in it.

I had done lots of supernatural things and seen supernatural, but this was, that made everything look like parlor tricks.

I know it sounds really simple, but to me it was, there was like, wow, what if the Jesus of the Bible is true?

I then threw away my tarot cards and I ordered a copy of the Bible.

And I thought for the first time, I always found it repellent, the thought of reading it, but I thought I'm going to try.

And then after that first night of the sleep paralysis and using the name of Jesus, the next night, it was like the demons had stopped bothering to hide it.

It's almost like then it's what I thought were spirit guides showed up.

So the next night I had a dream.

It was a lucid dream.

So I was aware I was dreaming and I was walking along and there was a handsome man in my dream and he said to me, we've been working together a long time.

And I was smiling and then just suddenly something, I said, reveal yourself in the name of Jesus.

And he turned into this green-skinned, red-eyed zombie type thing.

And so I started shouting at him, I cast you out in the name of Jesus.

And on the second repetition, he disappeared and my voice went demonic and I woke up in a really demonic voice saying, I cast you out in the name of Jesus.

And I coughed up what I thought was, it was like it left through my mouth.

And I didn't know at that time, I didn't know that demons could come out through your mouth.

Obviously, since seen that in the Christian world, but.

Because at this point, you didn't believe in demons, right?

They don't believe in demons or Satan, yet the two leaders that all of all this work were worshipping Satan.

But I opened it at Matthew.

And as I started reading it, for me, for the first time I actually opened the Bible.

And it's bearing in mind that after I've coughed up this demon, the next day as well, I felt this, I felt a sense of freedom.

So I believed that I had a demon, but I didn't know, I wasn't manifesting in the Christian sense.

I didn't know that I was demon possessed, but it was having control over me.

And so every time I tried to pick up a Bible or whatever, I'd be like, oh, it's so boring.

Oh, it's just like repellent.

But now I opened Matthew, King James Version, and I felt like, it just felt like this is true.

It felt like truth emanating.

And I started reading it and I was, it was almost like I was supernaturally transported into that chapter.

And I cried when Jesus was crucified and died.

And I just knew it was true.

After finishing that chapter, I wasn't able to read the King James words as easily again, but it was almost like God was, that was a gift, you know.

And then, and the spiritual battles were going on at night.

So another night, I was praying for protection and I'd started watching YouTube videos about other ex-new agers or

witchcraft people who ever come into Christianity and how you needed to throw it.

So I started, because I had all sorts of crystals and books and everything, so I had to throw all that away.

And while that's going on, at night I'm still getting the battles and I woke up.

So again, I started with a dream.

I was dreaming and in dream my partner went to give me a kiss.

And as I went to just kiss him back,

suddenly it was in the dream, it was like he was pushing really hard on my face.

And I was about to say, oh, look, that's being a bit hard.

And the next thing I know, I'm awake, but again, I'm in sleep paralysis, but I can sense there is this circle, circular mouth, saw-toothed demon clamped around my mouth.

and my mouth is forced open.

It's almost like there's like a sort of stamen type thing all the way down my throat into my stomach.

And it's almost like it's sucking like energy or something from me.

As that's happening, the pain around my mouth is, and pins and needles, it's horrible.

So again, I can't speak.

So again, I just, all I know is I cast you out in the name of Jesus.

I'm saying that in my mind.

It took about three times and then it finally let go and it went.

And after it had gone, there was a bruised sensation just on my face, which was the same sensation that I'd been feeling all over my body.

But before knowing that Jesus was real,

It's almost like that I believe that had been happening to me in a deep, deep sleep and that demon had been just feasting on me, which is what I was saying before.

They will help you, but you now are in debt to them.

And I think it was like, right where you are, whatever, you know, whatever sustenance they get from sucking from us, which was draining.

It was making me ill.

So now I'm very much like demons are real.

And I remember I was, and I've read that the chapter of Matthew and I'm now walking down the street one day in Worthing and it's daylight and my whole world is turned upside down and I don't know because I've lived with a whole world view and now that's all gone.

So in my head I'm saying, okay, so demons are real.

Satan is real then.

00:39:54 Speaker 2

And therefore, Jesus must be real and God is real.

And then the moment I had that thought, it was like I suddenly felt the presence of God and I felt so loved.

And even though, and I could suddenly, I suddenly saw all my flaws as well.

And I wasn't, I'm not a good person.

And I also saw, I had this sense that I've, oh, God, you love me and you let me go off and do all these things.

I felt like a loyalty towards God and I suddenly sensed how, and you still love me anyway.

And it was a very, just, yeah, really beautiful moment.

And also as that was happening,

I also just had this, in my head was this thought of Jesus has authority over the demonic, which I wouldn't have used, I would never have heard those words before, like Jesus has authority.

And I just, that was, I just knew that it was true.

The Bible is true.

I just knew and that I was going to meet my brother for lunch and he said,

And so I arrived in a bit of daze and he said, hi, how are you?

What's new?

And I said, Jesus is the Son of God.

And he was like, all right, okay, should we backtrack a bit?

So that was the first words out of my mouth.

I was just like, Jesus is the Son of God.

I just knew it.

So yes, from that moment,

I knew it was true.

And then I was like, I don't know any Christians.

I don't know.

What do I do now?

So I prayed to God, can you bring me some Christians that I can talk to about this?

And while this is, all my friends are new ages.

While I'm praying, my good friend Caroline and her husband both get this sense that they need to get baptised.

So I didn't know that this was going on at the time.

They contacted a local pastor and they ended up, they were going and they got baptised in the sea.

So by the time then I catch up with her and we're both like, oh,

you found his, you found it sort of happened at the same time.

So that was good.

And then God, through her, there was an older couple who were amazing.

They took myself, several new ages all at the same time.

We formed a little group, this local ex-pastor and his wife basically took us through

We watched it on TV with them.

They took us through Freedom in Christ and because we were all very sceptical and wary of church, church, church.

So yeah, so that's, yeah, that's what happened there.

I think as well what I have discovered is I did go then to some churches and there isn't the awareness or acknowledgement of the reality of the actual spiritual war that we are in and the reality of the spiritual realm.

If you are just, if people are, and I did hear a testimony actually of a woman this morning who said she's still a psychic medium.

anything where they could use that.

I don't know whether it happens as a legal petition from Satan that says to God, well, she's in unforgiveness, so can I not send my men in?

You know, or whether it's a metaphysical thing that then the doors that Jesus has closed, that then opens the doors and gives them access.

turned me into a prayer warrior and pushed my relationship with God and Jesus stronger and stronger because of that.

So every now and again, stuff happens, but it has got less and less and they have so much less access to me.

said to myself, maybe it was all dreams, but it was the scratches on my body.

partner saw I was struggling in my dream.

But he said it was strange because the whole room was very strangely hot.

And I think that just showed him, I think he's starting to think there is something, and he knew about the scratches as well, but I think it's very easy to kind of just dismiss it.

And I think that's the other thing is people say, well, you know, don't talk about it, but I'm very strategic in how I think.

But I'm also like, when I pay for something, I'm like, no, it'll be fine if I've paid for this now.

My brother was, I think, coming this way, but then got distracted off back to his new age stuff.

I wanted to shout at her, but I knew not to because I knew that wouldn't go down well from an older sister.

So I just said to her, why don't you pray about it?

And she said, okay.

So she said, I'll pray.

She got a Bible and she said, I'm going to give it a year.

and I was praying for her every day.

And about less than a year in, she said, I opened the Bible in a new age way, randomly.

And it was that the Luke passage about, that if your eye is dark, the light of the body.

She'd been praying about yoga.

But that upset her.

she was continuing to do her yoga classes.

She cancelled a course that she was going to do and her heart was less and less in it.

And now she, so then she gave it up and she was worried about the money.

And I was then praying, I was like, please, God, please bring her a new, and then, and God brought her a new job.

So she has given up the yoga and she's got a new job.

And yeah, she's on the way, but she's not quite across the line.

Because there's a lot about Jesus in the new age and like, in other religions, in the Muslim religion, they have Jesus in the Quran and there's loads about Jesus in the new age and they do talk about, like, I think that's actually what draws people to him because he is, but he's just like,

But I think I've been thinking about this a lot and I think they have to acknowledge him because there is so much evidence for him.

And how is anyone going to notice any change in me, particularly because I was sober and high functioning and whatever.

So I was praying to God about that.

And then my brother, I'd gone to see my family and my brother said to me,

And I keep, when I bring up this or talk to you about that, I expect you to be all, you always think you're right and you're not.

And he goes, and I really notice the difference in you.

That's, so that's the Holy Spirit working me.

So clearly I was a big know it all older sister.

So it can be things like that, which seem subtle, but the people closest to you notice.

Well, I think a lot of the new age stuff, as we sort of discussed, is very much about me, what can we get out of it?

And I guess the enemy loves that because it's self-destroying.

Like we're saying, like, we need the Ferrari, you know, we need to talk about goalboards, you know, we need a Ferrari, we need this house, we need this swimming pool, all these things we think we need.

and we've had a goal board up for it and it becomes a manifestation and then it's very sort of like a lot of people are doing this thing and probably the enemy loves that because we're destroying ourselves because God knows what's best for us and it's actually saying no it's not us who knows best for us it's God and maybe the house is best for us maybe the Ferrari I don't know but probably not there's other things God knows what's best for us you know?

wanting to know what was coming next in my life.

And that was completely taken away from me in that moment when I had the God moment walking along the street.

I know what's going to happen now.

a new heavens and a new earth and there's going to be no more sorrow, no more tears.

And I don't have to sit and manifest it.

God's got that covered.

And that is like such a huge relief.

And also just that the relationship with Jesus and just feeling Jesus's presence, even I think as well in the new age world, it's all about just avoiding any kind of suffering whatsoever.

And if you are suffering, then you're doing something wrong, you're manifesting.

But with Jesus and feeling Jesus's presence in my life, when I'm going through something that's really hard, but Jesus is there, then it means I can deal with life on life's terms, with the trials of life.

I don't have to just try and avoid them or go into fantasy or manifest them away.

And that's, a real gift as well that people are missing.

So isn't that interesting that they use that because that's just to say like, well, you're doing something wrong.

And it's kind of good to know that he said that, but he will be with us.

openly practiced out there and everybody knows.

And the people out there just think, well, okay, they genuinely work with demons, the ones that aren't Christians, to get things they want and they know that they're doing that.

Whereas in the West, it's very hidden.

We think we're working with good spirit guides.

It's Satan masquerading as an angel of light, isn't it, over here.

It's, God delivered me in that dream, which again, I didn't know that was a, that's kind of an unusual thing.

But it wasn't a big, I think some people will,

And I think obviously in the films and all of this kind of thing, it looks quite a scary process, but actually it brings peace and it is a peaceful, it should be quite a peaceful process.

My sister Annie had a very similar experience when Becca prayed for her.

I felt, I just felt, when I got up the next morning, I felt a freedom and I felt there were certain patterns, self-destructive patterns and thinking that went with it.

It wasn't like, I've seen some things on the television where people are, but it wasn't.

It was the only time I've ever seen anything like that.

And it wasn't scary, which was interesting, but it was very strange what was happening.

Normal guy, on this Alpha weekend was normally sort of dressed smartly, obviously had some sort of corporate job, just normal bloke and then obviously had some prayer on the Holy Spirit weekend and that was it.

This demon started coming out and left.

But for us watching, it's just peaceful, this is all in control, everything's fine and it left and then the guy afterwards was stunned, you know, that this had happened because obviously he was rolling around on the floor and all sorts of things.

I am not frightened of, I even decided to watch a horror film, I didn't like it, but because I'd always been too scared because I was, but I was watching it and I was saying, just cast it out in the name of Jesus, or shouting at the television, because we have authority in Jesus to do it.

And I mean, there's that, when I read that quote in the Bible, which I've got here about

that we have the authority to trample on young lions and serpent.

But yeah, in Luke 10 verses 19 to 20, I have given you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy.

So A twisted bit can be very deceptive for people that aren't Christians.

And then some of them have come to Jesus because they've tried to attack a Christian and they

been cast, not that the person can be cast out, but they can't, all their powers are completely useless.

And that's faith building and it's bringing, so I think, it is important to, we do need to constantly pray and we, and just because we have been attacked doesn't necessarily always mean that we've opened a door.
