Growing up in South Africa, Trevor didn’t realize it until he was older, but he was born a crime. His mother was black and his father was white, which made him, illegal. If his mother had been caught, Trevor could have ended up in an orphanage, just for mixed race children. Growing up in this inbetween world was difficult for Trevor and it made it hard for him to find his place in the world.
Recommended for 8th grade and up.
