What do we Consider is Art?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What do we actually consider art?
Is it skill? Emotion? Technique? Or is it simply the ability to make someone feel something? In this video, I dive into the blurred lines of what defines art today—from traditional paintings to modern expression and everything in between.
As artists, we all have our own standards, biases, and beliefs… but are they limiting us or expanding our vision?
This isn’t just a question—it’s a conversation. And you might see your own work differently after this.

Part Two What is Art
Part One What is Art
SPEAKER_00What do we consider is real art? And art, as we know, art comes in all forms. All styles, all designs, all forms, all fashions, art and artwork come in many forms. And it could be um designed with many materials and different media. And so art can be illustrations, art can be drawings, art can be uh water and liquid, and uh it can be uh oil paintings, it can be acrylic, it can be all kinds of things. Art can be a form of any type of material, but um real art uh uh you know, looking at uh the body of someone's work, this happens to be an acrylic painting. And so this is most of my designs outside of roughly 10 oil paintings. Most of my designs are designed around acrylic painting. And most of the designs have multiple layers, multiple texture, uh, a lot of paint used, um, a lot of different shapes, a lot of different styles, and it incorporates a body of a lot of different techniques. And this piece behind us is more about nature and trees and growth and uh experience and glowing effects, and um uh uh, you know, kind of like a fural type of uh incorporating some fural, fural, I'll say that right, fural designs, and uh flowers and that kind of thing. So um we take a look at this piece, and we could see the nature of the actual painting and design because you have this deep enrich black covered background that has multiple different black and gray incorporated in it, and you have this enriched background which is deep, dark, and seeded in roots, and then you have this sprouting set of branches and leaves and this kind of flowery design, and the paint just flows where it wants to flow, using uh knife and special tools to create the imaging, to create the design, to create the intended result. You want the body of work to um tell the story and capture someone's attention, and then put them into a position where they're wondering about the piece and wondering what what what is happening here. There's so much light in the in the tones of white, in the tones that come out, the black, the heavy, strong black backgrounds with this beautiful white scented look. And it brings in those flowery, floral nature, and it tells the story and enriches the person whose eyes are focused to the focus point of this is a powerful piece, and it doesn't require ten million colors, it doesn't require intense texture, it doesn't require some abstraction or abstraction built into it. It just requires a simple story and lines that create the energy. And that's what this piece is talking about emerging from a place of nature and storytelling.
