Art shows and events aren’t just about showing up—they’re about showing up right. In today’s world, where attention is short and competition is everywhere, artists need more than talent to stand out. This breaks down exactly how to position yourself, present your work, and connect with buyers in a way that actually converts.

From booth setup and display strategy to pricing, conversation, and follow-up, this dives into what’s working right now—not outdated advice. Whether you’re just getting into shows or trying to level up your results, this gives you a real-world, no-fluff approach to turning events into serious opportunities.

Because doing art shows isn’t hard… doing them right is everything.

Nine Months Left To Sell

SPEAKER_00

People want to know, you know, right now, as we go into the rest of the year, we've got nine months left for 2026. And people want to know that right now, um, whatever they're designing is is that are they ready to go? Are they ready to sell? Meaning uh what will sell, what will sell at any event. And right now, my opinion is no matter what type of artist you are, you know, your if you believe your body of work, your creations, your designs, your concepts of color, your color um uh theory, your color uh balancing, your color management. If you believe whatever you're designing, that that you you've worked on your colors, you've worked on the balancing, you've worked on the designs, you've worked on your creations, you've worked on every part of the design you're you're working on, and you believe it's good work, I think you're ready to go. Like I do a lot of different styles in abstract, it's not just one style. I do a lot with landscapes, it's not just one simple landscape type format and I'm copying it every time, meaning I'm using the same format every time I do a landscape. It isn't like that. I do very custom, very specialty work and very specialty designs. But uh right now, I'm ready to go. Like I have enough uh um paintings that are completed now and ready for this year. Now, by mid uh within three months, I'm going to have to create a number of pieces, anywhere from uh five to ten more pieces in order to finish out the year. But uh all my creations have been put on, you know, the final touches have been put on it. And if I felt any piece needed any kind of custom varnishing, it's already been done. So just make sure that what you're doing, what you're creating, is your best work and you feel confident in it, and then you're ready to go. And have roughly a minimum of 10 pieces done, but I would say in your collection, have you know around 15 to 20 pieces done for going forward to do, try to do shows. Have enough variety where people could come up to you and say, Wow, I really like that one. That's not my taste, but this one is.
