Episode 40: Shane Patrick - Truffles and Dracula in Romania
The Holidaze are upon us. It’s a time for celebrating family, friends and a successful growing season. Shane and Phil talk about a unique harvest: hunting for truffles in Romania. The truffle has an almost mythic hold over humans. And yet, we can’t find them without help from a pig or dog or some other creature with a better sniffer. Shane talks about hunting for truffles, what to do with the fungi if you’re lucky enough to find some. Romanian hospitality, cooking, countryside and the roads also add to the conversation. No trip to Romania is complete without a trip to Transylvania. Shane and his friends celebrated Halloween at Dracula’s Castle. No trick, these episodes are a real treat.
