Ten Minute Travels
Ten Minute Travels is Alaska inspired and revolves around those who have either lived or traveled to Alaska. Our guests are ordinary people doing extraordinary things and our travel topics range from helicopters to motorcycles to bicycles to anything else you would consider travel.
Concept:
We want to take you on ten minute journeys that are inspirational, educational and just darn interesting, as you journey through your own busy day.
Goal:
We want our listeners to learn at least one travel trick, good or bad, in each episode.

Episode 58: Iditarod Musher Emily Maxwell - Dogs stop on the Iditarod Trail
Lots of people visit Alaska and say they want to live there. Some of them actually do move to the 49th State. A few of them do some interesting things in the Last Frontier. One of them moved from Iowa City and ran the Iditarod, the Last Great Race on Earth. Her name is Emily Maxwell.
Emily and the dogs encounter tussocks- an Old English word that closely translates to walking on basketballs. Tired mushers, tired dogs and big red buttons.
