Ten Minute Travels
Ten Minute Travels is Alaska inspired and revolves around those who have either lived or traveled to Alaska. Our guests are ordinary people doing extraordinary things and our travel topics range from helicopters to motorcycles to bicycles to anything else you would consider travel.
Concept:
We want to take you on ten minute journeys that are inspirational, educational and just darn interesting, as you journey through your own busy day.
Goal:
We want our listeners to learn at least one travel trick, good or bad, in each episode.

Ski bumming, building chairlifts and falling upstairs with Herman the German and Polka Dan. Meet Larry Daniels. Larry worked and skied in the West as a young man before learning a bit about building ski lifts. He jumped on a job offer to come to Alaska in the early 1970’s. Larry takes us on a journey through the early years at Alyeska Resort to skiing in Japan in the 80’s and beyond. We touch on bar tabs, chairlifts as babysitters and renting sailboats.
In this episode, Larry details the indentured program at the bar and TV logistics in old Girdwood, Alaska.
