This is O'Brien Daly with a special episode of the Husky Huddle podcast. And I'm here with Ava Finch and Anna Bates. And you guys just had a great senior night win, winning 38 to 30 against Dunkirk. How's that feel?

SPEAKER_02

Pretty good. We were losing, but we came back.

Growth From First Jersey To Now

SPEAKER_00

No, that's it. Come behind wins are always fun. So, first question for you guys is when you think it back on your first day, like being a Husky and wearing a Husky uniform, like what's the biggest way you think you've grown since then?

SPEAKER_01

But I find just playing together as a team. Um a record like may not show it, but you know, being in the gym together every single day and just like creating a bond, it just makes it all worth it.

SPEAKER_02

And like just holding yourself with the confidence, like I mean when you're in eighth grade and you first put the jersey on, you don't think that you're gonna like make a shot or even play, but if you just look at it, you get better and you just kind of grow in your feelings with that team.

Unforgettable Moments And Team Bonding

SPEAKER_00

Okay, alright. Now, what's one moment or game you think from your time as a husky that you'll never forget?

SPEAKER_02

Probably all the times you'd be alligated, you know, like Leo will get the zone basically.

SPEAKER_01

But I think like all like the team bonding things we did, like the team dinners and things like that.

What People Don’t See

SPEAKER_00

Nice, nice. Now, what's something people don't see behind like the scenes, like with practice, training, whatever, that makes this team like so special?

SPEAKER_01

I definitely think the bond we've created, um, we're all like best friends kind of on the court and off the court, and seeing each other in school and you know, just talking to each other outside the sport makes it a lot easier to actually like play the sport together.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'll go on to that. Like, we all are very close and I think that helps when we play.

Defining The Team’s Identity

SPEAKER_00

Nice. Now, how would you describe this team to someone who's never watched you guys play?

SPEAKER_01

One of the kind. Interesting, funny.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. Got a lot of heart. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Now, what are you most proud of when it comes to how this team like competes and supports each other?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I think how we just kind of pick off each other. Um one person's talking, another person tries to, you know, pick up and pull out you know that.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, we never like yell at each other or get upset in the court, like we all make mistakes, and it's just you gotta left for the next LA.

Advice For Younger Players

SPEAKER_00

Nice. What do you hope younger players take away from you guys watch when you watch, when they watch you?

SPEAKER_01

To play with confidence. And it's okay to make mistakes. I definitely think just having fun. I mean, yeah, you want to win all the time, but it's not the sport's not gonna be any fun for you if you just don't play like you're having fun.

SPEAKER_00

What has this coaching staff meant to you over the years?

SPEAKER_02

A lot. I mean, yeah. You know, our record has not been good the past like four years, but they stay with us and very supportive, put their time and effort in it.

SPEAKER_00

Is there a teammate coach or family member you want to shout out?

SPEAKER_01

Chelsea Boak. Chelsea Boaks 2 4.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Alright. Well, thanks guys. Congrats on the win.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you. Thank you.
