SEND ME A TEXT MESSAGE NOW

Join me, Jeff Alan Wolf, as I unravel the high-stakes drama between US President Donald Trump and Ukraine's President Zelensky. With Trump's volatile claims and misleading lies about Ukraine, we're witnessing a geopolitical conundrum. I'll explore how Ukraine's martial law and postponed elections intersect with the chaos stirred by Trump's bewildering leadership style.

From the bird flu mishap at the US Department of Agriculture to the sudden closure of the JFK Presidential Library, I draw parallels to illustrate the broader implications of disorganized governance.

On a lighter yet equally compelling note, discover the untapped potential of oysters in the world of medicine. I’m diving into groundbreaking research from Australia that reveals oysters contain a protein capable of combatting antibiotic-resistant bacteria, offering a beacon of hope in the fight against diseases like pneumonia and strep throat. This episode isn't just about political tension or medical innovation; it's about navigating a world that seems to be spinning out of control. I invite you to share your thoughts and insights. Join me and together we will try to make sense of A World Gone Mad.

Speaker 1:

There is chaos in the world, can't you see? And we need to stand up and preserve our democracy. Well, this is a world gone mad. This is a world gone mad, mad, mad, mad, mad. Welcome back to another episode of A World Gone Mad, season 2, episode 66. I'm your host, jeff Allen Wolfe, and, for those of you that are new listeners, I comment on national and world news and politics. So here we go. All right, the true colors of Donald, the delusional one, is coming out.

Speaker 1:

Trump is calling Zelensky a dictator after the Ukraine leader accuses him of living in disinformation space. Now US President Donald Trump called Ukraine's President Zelensky a dictator, escalating a public war of words between the two leaders that started when Trump falsely accused Ukraine of starting the war with Russia. Ludicrous Trump's accusation, posted on his social media network, true Social, came just hours after Zelensky accused him of repeating Russian disinformation. Now, speaking to reporters, Zelensky pushed back on several unfounded claims the US president made on Tuesday, while reinforcing Ukraine's position that a deal to end the war needed Ukraine's involvement as well. Unfortunately, president Trump I have great respect for him as a leader of a nation that we have great respect for. The American people always support us. Unfortunately, he lives in this disinformation space. Zelensky said Trump has made it clear he wants the war to end as soon as possible, even if it means further territorial losses for Ukraine, and much to the horror of Ukraine and its allies. Trump has, at times, adopted the Kremlin's narrative blame Ukraine and NATO for the conflict, even saying that Ukraine may be Russian someday. The same methods, the same playbook we've seen from Donald in the past Make up shit, put energy behind it, post all the garbage on social media, screaming and yelling repeatedly and maybe people will believe you. But there are too many smart people out there now, even some of their own Republicans, who see Donald's insane way of doing things. It's getting tiring, it's getting boring, but, the biggest issue, it's getting incredibly dangerous. Donald is stoking the fuel in the fire and creating a roaring conflagration that's about to explode.

Speaker 1:

Zelensky says the US asked for 50 percent of Ukraine's rare minerals, but he, zelensky, cannot sell his nation, ukraine's President Zelensky said the United States was demanding that Ukraine give away 50% of the rare minerals, while offering no security guarantees in exchange. Zelensky immediately rejected the suggestion, saying I cannot. I cannot sell our state, that's all. Us President Trump said earlier this month that he wanted access to Ukraine's mineral deposits in exchange for future aid. Speaking to reporters, zelensky gave a rundown of the conversation on minerals, saying he specifically asked for a memorandum of understanding to include some positive things. He said he suggested Ukraine would promise a percentage of minerals if the US commits to some guarantees. I was told 50%. I said no and let the lawyers work on it.

Speaker 1:

Fact check Trump falsely claims Zelensky has a 4% approval rating. Uh no, it's above 50%. Donald President, donald Trump's false declaration Tuesday that Ukraine started the Russian war on Ukraine generated the most attention While that dominated. Trump had to make another wildly inaccurate assertion about Ukraine during those remarks to the media at Mar-a-Lago a claim that Zelensky has a 4% approval rating. But Trump was pushing Ukraine to hold its first presidential election since Zelensky was elected in 2019. Now the Ukrainian Constitution does not allow national elections under martial law. Ukraine, which has been under martial law since the Russian invasion in 2022, called off the presidential election that would otherwise have been held in 2024. Donald the crazy keeps spewing these lies, hoping something will stick. He throws so many lies out that he loses track of them and he hopes you know a handful of the lies sticks.

Speaker 1:

The Department of Agriculture working to rescind termination letters sent to staffers who are working on bird flu. The US Department of Agriculture said it is trying to revoke the termination letters it sent to workers who are supporting the bird flu response. Positions such as animal health technicians and veterinarians were exempt from being terminated, according to a spokesperson with the USDA. Now USDA continues to prioritize the response to highly pathogenic avian influenza. Several job categories, including veterinarians, animal health technicians and other emergency response personnel, have been exempted from the recent personal actions to continue to support the response and other animal health priorities. The USDA said in a statement Although several positions supporting them were notified of their termination over the weekend, we were working to swiftly rectify the situation and we sent those letters. Oops, we sent out letters we shouldn't have sent out. The terminations were among the scores of firings at government agencies that began last week. Were among the scores of firings at government agencies that began last week.

Speaker 1:

Now most of the Wolfpack listeners and others around the world see how utterly scatterbrained and ridiculous things that the Trump administration does. Incompetent actions reign supreme. Make some executive action shit, worry about the fallout as it's happening, then turn 360 degrees and change things. All the personal injury attorneys, who are experts on whiplash, are drooling. If they could just represent Donald with all of these actions.

Speaker 1:

The John F Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston was forced to close Tuesday due to the sudden dismissal of federal employees. The library's foundation said and being repetitive here beside it being ridiculously dangerous everything Donald and Musk do. They are so friggin incompetent and are so unqualified to do anything right. Hey, we can't open up the JFK Presidential Library because we fired everyone. What doggie or DOGE or, as one of my listeners suggested, dodgy. Either way, it's a silly department. What DOGE could gain by accessing your Social Security data?

Speaker 1:

You know when people think of Social Security they typically think of. You know monthly benefit checks for the roughly 69 million retirees, disabled workers, dependents and survivors who receive them today. Here's just a partial list of the data the Social Security Administration systems likely have about you your name administration systems likely have about you your name, social security number, date and place of birth, gender, addresses, marital and parental status, your parents' names, lifetime earnings, bank account information, immigration and work authorization status, health conditions if you apply for disability benefits and use of Medicare after a certain age, which the SSA may periodically check to ascertain whether you're still alive. Other types of personal information also may be obtained or matched through the SSA's data sharing agreements with the IRS and the Department of Health and Human Services. Information on your assets and living arrangements also may be gathered if you apply for Supplemental Security Income, which is meant to help those with very limited income. So asking you the Wolfpack listeners directly how are you feeling about this information being given to Elon and his minions? I'm guessing there's a comfort level of zero for you.

Speaker 1:

Now here's a bit of ludicrous garbage, I'm sorry. Here's a bit of news. Donald Trump says there is a plan under consideration you know the concept of a plan to give 20% of DOGE savings back to Americans. Bullshit, sorry, president. Donald Trump said he's considering a plan that would give savings uncovered by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency back to Americans. There's even under consideration a new concept where we give 20% of the savings to American citizens. 20% goes to paying down the debt Trump makes up. I mean Trump states in his remarks at the F2 Priority Summit in Miami on Wednesday. Trump claimed DOGE was saving taxpayers billions and billions. Don't forget, it'll change it to trillions tomorrow, every single day by identifying instances of fraud and abuse in the government. We're thinking about giving 20% back to American citizens and 20% down to pay back the debt Trump repeats. Now some background. On Tuesday, musk said on X that he would check with the president on the idea of sending money back to Americans. He was replying to a post from James Fischbach, the CEO of investment firm Azoria, proposing the so-called DOGE dividend. In Fischbach's post, the CEO floated the idea of sending a tax refund check to every taxpayer with money from DOGE's cutting efforts.

Speaker 1:

And I've seen, actually today on social media, several lunatic Republicans stating hey, democrats, are you gonna turn down the $5,000 check that you're gonna get back shortly? What $5,000 check? Seriously? People, wake up, maga. Trump is not going to give that much money back to every American. So let me see if I, as a commentator, have this straight Ignore us stealing your country, ignore us becoming dictators and fascists. We're going to give you some money back. You know? A chicken in every pot. That way it'll placate the average American and they'll say look how good Elon and Donald were to me. Wow, there, you know. There are no words for this thought. I'm going to deprive you dinner for three weeks, ruin your identity by, you know, taking all of your personal information and then maybe send a small check your way for all the troubles we've caused? I don't think so.

Speaker 1:

Defense officials fear impending Pentagon firings could break the law and hurt military readiness, that the summary firings could break the law and hurt the United States and their readiness with the military. A senior defense official told CNN Title 10, section 129A of the US Code governing civilian personal management in the armed forces says that the Secretary of Defense may not reduce the civilian workforce program full-time equivalent levels unless the Secretary conducts an appropriate analysis of how those firings could impact the US military's lethality and readiness. In establishing the policies and procedures under subsection A, the Secretary shall clearly provide that attainment of a Department of Defense workforce sufficiently sized, comprised of the appropriate mix of personnel necessary to carry out the mission of the Department and the core missionaries of the Armed Forces, takes precedence over cost. The law states Now the Secretary may not reduce the civilian workforce program full-time equivalent levels unless the secretary, as I said, conducts the analysis checking the workload of the reduction, the military force structure, how lethal the military is, its readiness, its operational effectiveness, stress on the military force and the fully burdened costs. A senior defense official said that no such analysis has been done and that they and their colleagues were raising questions about whether the firings could run afoul of these rules laid down. On a foul of these rules laid down, pentagon civilian employees who fall under Title X are also typically in specialized roles involving national security, including cyber operations and intelligence.

Speaker 1:

The official said Fire people, fire people. Get rid of that bunch of people, get rid of that department, get rid of that group. No regards for the consequences. Like I stated before, listeners, total incompetence, total chaos. But we don't give a damn because we're trying to make America great again. So, wolfpack, listeners, I ask you directly you've been silent too long. A good core of you, a handful of you repetitively, have emailed, texted and phoned me, but a lot of you are silent. Time to respond. You've been on the sidelines long enough. Speaker 1:

The crazy, nutty administration expected to issue public health order to restrict immigration at the US-Mexico border. The Trump administration is expected to issue a public health order as soon as this week, labeling migrants at the US southern border as risks for spreading diseases, marking an escalation in the president's effort to severely restrict immigration. According to three sources familiar with the discussions, the public health order, which hasn't yet been finalized, is a callback to one put in place in 2020 during Donald Trump's first administration, based on the coronavirus pandemic. That order sealed off the border to asylum seekers, drawing fierce criticism from immigrant advocates, and fueled repeat crossings that prompted pushback from some Homeland Security officials.

Speaker 1:

Let's run it back again, donald, and make up some more stuff. Chaos over there, chaos over here. Here is chaos, there is chaos. Everywhere is chaos. Ladies and gentlemen, donald Trump and his MAGAs, millions Americans gaining asshole status. I present to you MAGAs. I haven't done this in a while, but I'm going to leave you with some inspiring news stories for a change. I did that a while, back, last year, and I'm bringing it back again. You know, with all the chaos going on in our country and the world today, I believe we could use this. This is from the Good News Network by Andy Corble. Under duress from bird flu, california Farm donates over 300,000 eggs to victims of Palisades fires. What do you get when you cross some good eggs with a fire In Los Angeles County? You get much-needed relief. In the wake of the Palisades and Altadena fires, and amid continual rising prices for eggs at the supermarket, a California farm has donated 324,000 eggs to victims of the recent wildfires. 54,000 will be given specifically to a charity of chefs and non-profiteers called Gather for Good, which cooks meals for first responders and others directly involved with combating the fires. Another separate donation will be made to Winter Fate Bakes, a Los Angeles bakery that is offered to bake and donate a birthday cake to any child whose family lost a house in the fire.

Speaker 1:

The idea for the donation didn't come out of times of plenty, but times of want. The hundred-year-old, family-owned Rosemary Farm in Santa Maria has had its flock of hens devastated by bird flu, but has decided to leverage its sister farm in South Dakota, which has remained unaffected, to make the donation. It's been a struggle not only for us as farmers but for the entire industry. Linda Sampe, who handles marketing for the farm, told USA Today. This flu has taken out so many producers nationwide. We're giving back.

Speaker 1:

Do some of you, the Wolfpack listeners, like oysters? Then here's another story from the Good News Network, also by Andy Corble Oysters carry protein that kills bacteria behind pneumonia, strep throat and scarlet fever. A study says A protein found in oysters has been identified as an outright killer of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and to strengthen antibiotics' overall effectiveness. The discovery was made by scientists in Australia who found the protein in the bivalves' hemolymphs and the cells that act a little like blood cells in humans. It makes sense oysters would have potent endogenous antimicrobial secretions, since they are filter feeders. They slurp in liters of water every day, keeping the nutrients and expelling the rest. Their antimicrobial compound prevents bacteria that causes diseases like those I already mentioned from forming colonies, protected by biofilms. That's a substance that allows them to glom together and stick to membranes and tissues, whilst protecting them from antibiotic drugs. We often think about bacteria just floating around in the blood. Study co-author Kirsten Benkendorf, a marine scientist at Southern Cross University, tells the Guardian. But in reality, a lot of them actually adhere to surfaces. The advantage of having something that disrupts the biofilm is it's stopping all of that bacteria from attaching to the surfaces. It's releasing them back out into the blood, where then they could be attacked by antibiotics Oysters definitely proving to be a health benefit.

Speaker 1:
