Speaker 1:

There is chaos in the world, can't you see? And we need to stand up and preserve our democracy. Well, this is a world gone mad. This is a World Gone Mad. I'm Jeff Allen Wolfe and I give my commentary on national and world news and politics. Have I got news for you? Although this episode is going to be shorter, a little bit late, unfortunately, because I'm not feeling well. I'm dealing with a health issue right now, so my apologies to all of you and hopefully I can sort this out before Friday. I didn't want you, the Wolfpack listeners, to miss an episode.

Speaker 1:

So here we go, annotating the Trump administration's Yemen war plans from their Signal group chat the big fiasco that everyone's talking about. New chat messages were released. The Atlantic published more messages today from a group chat among top cabinet members that inadvertently included the magazine's editor-in-chief. Now Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth again claimed that nothing classified was shared in the chat, which he called a team update, despite sources telling press that he disclosed details that were classified at the time classified at the time. Officials faced scrutiny. Top administration officials were grilled again yesterday about the group chat on Capitol Hill the big fiasco talking about detailed war plans on an application called Signal. What a mess. This situation is an incredible screw-up. Everyone pointing their fingers at everyone else, claiming they didn't know, they didn't realize. This has nothing to do with nothing, not me. Look at him, not her. Look at him. The media is at fault. The Signal app is at fault. Basically, everything went wrong. I'm not the one to blame. The truth was avoided, as to be expected. You know a total, complete screw up from Donald Trump's administration and now Donald Trump is distancing himself from this and his key perspective and take on all of this. Of course, it's the media's fault for talking about this and releasing this. You know fake news and the app is at fault, or something wrong with the Signal app.

Speaker 1:

Trump says his national security advisor is responsible for the Signal leak, claims Hexeth had nothing to do with it. President, donald Trump said Mike Walsh had taken responsibility, his national security advisor, for creating a single group that inadvertently included a journalist, but seemed unaware of the role his defense secretary Hexeth played in all of this, including detailed information about airstrikes in the chat. It was Mike, I guess I don't know, trump said. When questioned about which of his team was behind the chat Earlier, the White House said a team of officials from the National Security Council and White House Counsel's Office were looking into the matter, assisted get this by billionaire Elon Musk responsibly for the error. He shrugged off any culpability on the part of Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth, who sent the timeline of the planned attack on the Hooties before it was underway. How do you bring Hegseth into this? He had nothing to do with it, trump said, sounding surprised. A reporter would even raise the issue Earlier. The White House said Trump had looked at Hegseth's messages that were included in the text chain published by the Atlantic. It's all a everyone together witch hunt, trump said. You know his favorite line everything is a witch hunt.

Speaker 1:

It was so crazy to watch the hearings Tuesday and yesterday Tulsi Gabbard looking like she's trying to act tough, but really isn't. Kash Patel looks like he's drugged out. Pete Hegseth just all pissed off and riled up because he shouldn't be asked these questions. Secretary of Defense Marco Rubio pointing the finger elsewhere and saying mistakes were made and this should be corrected. Someone made a big mistake. Rubio said no shit, rubio. While Rubio tries to distance himself from this total failure, they're trying so hard to brush this aside, acting as if nothing happened. The Trump administration believed that the Congress should move on and they're doing everything in their power to blame everyone else, except what happened with this fiasco.

Speaker 1:

The biggest issue I have and if you're not aware of this listener, you probably already are is that a journalist can't stumble into a single group chat. He has to be invited in. Either this is a total miscommunication or just blatant stupidity by one or more members of this group. The bottom line again is that a journalist or anyone else for this matter has to be invited into the Signal app chat. And why the hell are you discussing war plans on a Signal app? That's unsecure, incompetence with a capital. I Look, I believe people should be fired. I doubt anyone will be. However, I believe someone eventually will have to be fired because there's just too much heat on Donald Trump to not make someone the scapegoat and if that finally comes to fruition from the heat from the Democrats and the media and the public, I believe that'll be Mike Walsh, national Security Advisor. He'll have to resign. Basically, fall on his grenade to protect Donald from further damage from this scandal. Fall on his grenade to protect Donald from further damage from this scandal. And this is just a little over two months. People Look at the damage from Donald. Look at the destruction and the vulnerability the election of Trump has put the defense of our country in Shameful.

Speaker 1:

Trump announces new auto tariffs. In a major trade war escalation, president Donald Trump on Wednesday announced a 25% he loves that number 25% tariffs set to take effect on April 2nd on all cars shipped to the United States. A significant escalation in a global trade war. We start off with a 2.5% base, which is what we're at, and we go to 25%, trump told reporters on Wednesday before signing an executive order in the Oval Office for yet another tariff. The long and winding road with Donald, it just never ends. People. And finally, the loon ball. That's right. The loon ball reappears.

Speaker 1:

Marjorie Taylor loon ball attacks NPR and PBS as communist and calls for funding to end. Used a Doge subcommittee hearing to call for the defunding and dismantling of the company that provides NPR and PBS with federal funds. For Taylor Lundball and other House Republicans, today's hearing was about tarnishing PBS and NPR with accusations of bias and targeting them for defunding. For the broadcasters, today was about defending their existence. I'm not even going to waste any more time on commenting on Marjorie Taylor Loonball. Any of you, the listeners, can come up with your own thoughts and comments about her. And the beat goes on with the Trump incompetence train. People who claim to be conductors and engineers and etc. On the train service don't know what they're doing, shouldn't have been confirmed by Congress and the Republicans Still waiting for the Republicans to show a backbone.

Speaker 1:

I'm looking with a magnifying glass. I don't see it. It's somewhere. I'm looking, I'm straining. I have good eyesightifying glass. I don't see it. It's somewhere. I'm looking, I'm straining. I have good eyesight now, but I can't see it. Like I said earlier, this episode was going to be shorter because of a health issue.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to relax today. You can reach me several ways. You can reach me with email, wolfpacklistener at gmailcom or my 24-7 voicemail box. It's free. I'm not picking up. Without your comments, your feedback or your engagement, I'm sitting in a room talking to myself. Stay hopeful, democracy. This is a world gone mad. This is a world gone mad, mad, mad, mad. Yeah.
