Iran Digs In, Trump Lies, Americans Start Prepping for SHTF

The war with Iran continues to escalate and the situation is getting more dangerous by the day. Iran has chosen a new supreme leader and the message coming out of Tehran is clear. They are dug in and they are not backing down.

I talk about what Trump’s next move could be and why this conflict may end with a quick declaration of victory rather than a long war.

Oil prices are already reacting, the death toll is rising and the ripple effects across the region are starting to show up fast.

While following the war today I ran into something interesting online. A large number of Americans are quietly prepping for SHTF by building up food, water and medical supplies. That tells you how seriously people are taking the instability around the world.

Meanwhile Washington is starting another political fight as Trump pushes the SAVE Act and turns voting laws into the next political battlefield.

Just another day in a world gone mad.

I'm Jeff Allen Wolf. This is A World Gone Mad. Monday Madness. One of those days. I felt it. It's all over the place, but I'm plowing through. Alright, let's jump right in. The Iran War still dominates the news. Trump's recklessness is creating havoc everywhere. Now Iran chose their new Supreme Leader, and it's the son of the former Supreme Leader that was just assassinated by Trump and Israel. Thousands rally in Iran's capital to show support for the new Supreme Leader, plus, key factions in Iran indicate their support for the new Supreme Leader. So basically, where everything sits right now is very simple. It means Iran is dug in and is not surrendering. So Donald Trump has two choices. Either to continue alongside Israel with a total attack on Iran, or ceasefire within a week or two and declare mission accomplished, just like George W. Bush. Personally, I think it'll be the latter. Trump shortens the war, declares a victory, and calls it a day. Either way, the nutcake of the free world Trump is in over his head and causing chaos everywhere. All this while the Pentagon identifies unfortunately an eighth U.S. service member killed in the war. The death toll continues to rise. The war has killed at least 1,230 people in Iran, at least 397 in Lebanon, 11 in Israel, according to officials in those countries. And of course, the eight soldiers from the US. Oil prices are skyrocketing to almost$120 a barrel. Later today, it came back down to about$90 a barrel. Because nothing says brilliant geopolitical strategy, quite like starting a war that makes gas prices explode while Americans are already trying to afford their groceries. On top of all this, Francis Macron orders naval deployments to Mediterranean after the Cyprus strike. Turkey's NATO air defense systems intercepted a ballistic missile Monday. However, the country's president warned Iran to avoid provocative steps. Speaking at the end of a cabinet meeting, President Erdogan said his country values its friendship with Iran and has been working toward preventing the conflict, but the Tehran risks damaging Turkey's friendship. No one should engage in calculations that would leave deep wounds in our nation's heart and mind, Erdogan said. In light of today's incident, I once again remind Iran to avoid persisting in mistakes and stubbornness. And also today, with Monday Madness, there was more incoherent babbling from Donald's mouth. You know the kind. You're used to it. Well, maybe not used to it, but you know what it is when you hear it. The rambling speeches where every sentence sounds like it wandered in from a completely different conversation. Basically, Wolfpack listeners, a typical day in America under Donald Trump's leadership. Now, while I was keeping track of the war, I was wandering all over the internet. And what I found was interesting, I'll share with those of you who have not seen this. I was online several Facebook groups and a question came up about prepping, and that if people are really prepping for SHTF, excuse me. Now some people didn't know what SHTF meant. I'm sure most of my listeners should, but if you don't, it means that you're preparing for shit hitting the fan. SHTF. In other words, are you ready for when things go wrong? Things turning into a very bad situation, and this refers directly to the word prepping, which means increasing your food and water and other supplies. Now I alluded to this in many other episodes of my podcast that my girlfriend and I have been doing this for many, many years. Others were engaged with prepping at that time, but sporadic groups here and there. Not as prevalent. Well, these websites that I looked at today, 95% of the people responding to the post about prepping for the SHTF are prepping. What does that tell you? People are buying several days or several weeks or even several months of food, water supplies, and medical supplies. You name it, they're doing that. And this tells me that people today take very seriously the threat of Donald Trump wrecking America and the world. And it was very encouraging for me to read the responses from these people. A lot of the comments on these websites, and please understand, these are normal websites, not doomsday craziness. Democratic websites who talk about news and politics were talking about World War III happening because of Donald. This was no longer random groups of people. This is the majority of these people responding to prepping with a yes, we're doing it. I hope some of you listeners check this out. And I hope some of you take this as seriously as I have stated in previous episodes why it's necessary, especially at this time, to increase your extra food, water, and medical supplies. Now, while all this chaos is unfolding overseas, Washington has decided it's a perfect moment to start or bring up again another political firestorm here at home. Donald Trump is pushing Republicans to move forward with the Save Act. That stands for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act. Donald, as of today, is calling it the Save America Act. Like a new name change is the bullshit in this law. The idea behind it is simple. If you want to register to vote according to Donald in a federal election, you'd have to show documentary proof that you're a U.S. citizen. Passports, birth certificates, naturalization papers. Actual documentation besides your driver's license proving citizenship. Now, I don't know about you, but it took me a while in the last couple of years to get my original birth certificate, a copy of it. So it's not just as easy as saying, hey, uh, can you give me a copy of my birth certificate and we're good? On paper, that sounds straightforward enough. Only citizens vote in American elections. Most people hear that and say, yeah, that seems reasonable. But Washington doesn't do simple. Washington takes simple, turns it into a five-alarm political brawl. Because the moment the words voting law enter the conversation, the entire political class loses its freaking mind. But here's where the political reality kicks in. Trump is now telling Republicans that major legislation will not move forward from him until re-election laws like the SAVE Act get addressed. In other words, Congress doesn't move, nothing moves, the legislative gears of Washington just stop grinding until Trump gets the law that he wants and he gets it voted in. Which means Washington is once again doing what Washington does best, turning the basic act of governing into a hostage negotiation. And if you've watched Washington for more than about 10 minutes, you already know what happens next. Both parties start shouting about democracy, cable news turns the whole thing into a political cage match. Panels of experts arguing over voting laws like it's the Super Bowl. One side says the country needs tighter election rules, the other side says the rules are already there, and this is about making it harder for people to vote. And while all that shouting is happening, the rest of the country is watching this circus wondering why something as basic as elections always turns into a political food fight. Because in modern American politics, nothing ignites a bigger fight faster than the subject of voting. Doesn't matter what the bill is, it doesn't matter what the details are. The moment voting laws hit the floor, the entire political system goes into full meltdown mode. Suddenly every politician in Washington is giving speeches about democracy. Every cable network is running wall-to-wall election panels. And the entire debate becomes less about solving a problem and more about winning the argument. And now the Save Act is about to become the next battlefield in that never-ending war. Another fight in Washington, another political showdown over elections. And if history tells us anything, this one isn't ending quietly. I finally ended my day watching the speech, because I had to, I do a podcast, watching the speech from Donald in front of the press corps, Donald Nutcake, about the war in Iran. I've never wanted to punch my TV as hard as I wanted to punch my TV while listening to Trump's speech. Donald's nose was so damn long with all his Pinocchio lies. And there's only so many times you can vomit in your own mouth while listening to something said by Trump. And yet, 70 million plus supporters love him. Anyone care to figure that one out?
