What matters more—being right, or helping someone grow in Christ?

In this message, Paul addresses a difficult question in the Corinthian church about food sacrificed to idols—but underneath the issue was something deeper: how believers use their freedom, knowledge, and influence around others.

Paul reminds the church that knowledge alone can lead to pride, but love builds people up. While some believers understood idols had no real power, others—saved out of pagan worship—still struggled deeply with those associations. The challenge wasn’t simply, “Can I do this?” but, “How will this impact the people around me?”

This teaching pushes against an individualistic faith focused only on personal rights and freedoms. Instead, Paul calls believers to live with love, humility, and awareness of how their choices affect the body of Christ.

At the center of it all is Jesus—the One who laid down His rights for the good of others. As followers of Christ, we are invited to do the same.

This message will challenge you to think differently about freedom, spiritual maturity, and what it looks like to live for the glory of God and the good of others.
