Welcome to Critical Magic Theory, an analytical Harry Potter podcast. I'm Professor Julian Wamble, and I know I'm not the only one with questions about the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Like, why is Hermione friends with Harry and Ron? Or, how different are Dumbledore and Voldemort from one another? And is Draco Malfoy really a victim or a villain? 

And when I ask people these questions, they say, "[i]f you love Harry Potter so much,
why don't you just enjoy the books? Just let them be what they are." And I say back to them, "it's because I love them so much that I overthink and I critically analyze them."

 So that is my invitation to you with this podcast. Join me in analyzing the heck out of Harry Potter. 

I want us to look at our favorite characters, I want us to analyze the social and political climates that they find themselves in, to understand exactly why they do what they do. I want to hear what you think, what questions come up for you. Loving something doesn't mean that you can't be critical of it. So join me. Let's have a good time.
