A big casting moment was working on Jaja's African Hair Braiding. I think Black excellence, black girl, joy, black people just everything that it encompassed was pretty perfection. Congratulations. I'm so excited for the both of you. Now, looking at this past year, I might know the answer, but we're trying to get people's casting moments. So what is a casting moment that stood out for both of you from this past season?

we'll say Wow, I can't say. There's just one moment I think. Uh, the moments are when you have a director who watches, somebody who you're, you've been searching for forever and you're praying that you've got it right and they say, yes, we love them. That's the casting moment, that's the one we all dream about. When we've seen a thousand people and and you're hoping, well, you should have a few hundred, yeah, totally agree with that Some cosigning.

Yeah, that's like the best moments, like all that work you find, work with all these actors to find just the right person for it, and then director season, like that's exactly who I was thinking of. Casting Process Tips and Tricks

I think a good way to analyze a breakdown is to not just look at your own character, but try to look at the others. Just quite often you don't get the script, and so you don't have a lot to go on, especially if it's a secret project.

I think probably casting Laurie Metcalf in the premiere of Little Bear Ridge Road that premiered at Steppenwolf in Chicago by Samuel D Hunter. It was just great to get Laurie in the room and work with Joe Mantella, the director. It was a lot of fun.

the Building. What stood out to you from that? It was great. I mean, I originally went in for a smaller role and then they called me in for Howard and I had a Zoom, because it was in the middle of the dark times and the Zoom was great, everybody was super friendly. And then I had a callback and John, the showrunnerner, gave me a pretty large adjustment. A very uh sort of uh turned everything around and, um, I went for it, I did it and then I waited a really long time to find out. I got the job, but it felt incredible.

It is One thing I was curious about in regards to reality casting is that you're looking for people to bring their authentic selves a little bit of sparkle for the camera, maybe. What's your advice for people out there auditioning for reality shows on being themselves on camera and not like putting on something extra?

Right? Well, the number one thing is a lot of people don't understand how to pull their stories together. You know, like when we talk to people, they'll be like, oh, it's nothing interesting in my life, and then it's like next, you already talked yourself out of the whole situation. Really take the time to really understand what makes you unique, um, your hobbies, the things that make you stand out and be yourself. Like everybody has a story. This tell the story. Take time to really flesh out all of your life experiences. You know anywhere from, like how your family is set up, where you grew up. Was it a rural place, Was it a city? Did you go to Ivy League? Did you play sports? Like, do you collect anything interesting? Do you collect anything interesting? Like, there's so many things you know that you can work on to really flesh out that story. That's the most important thing and just be yourself, absolutely that's such great life advice in general.
