Hello friends. Yesterday was a really good day. Today is Sunday, April twelfth. The last few offerings I gave last few posts were from months ago. Uh fast forward, and I never remember where I left off. My life is full, so this is just me raw and honest. I this is not a this is a no-frills, as I've mentioned before, no posturing, just me sharing. Why? Because I feel led to and I believe that by the time I launch everything that I'm doing, it will all come together. And these um what are ultimately voice notes that I upload will serve as some form of inspiration to someone. To someone. In search of continuous, perpetual words of encouragement. I'm a woman of a big age and I am always drawn to, I am always interested in hearing positive words of upliftment from different voices. It's it never grows old, it's never enough. So my post will always be about me sharing uh with the hopes of leaving a positive word and some level of encouragement. That being said, yesterday was a really good day. I uh took myself on my very first, um, and I don't know, I may have mentioned this in a previous post, I don't remember, but I took myself on a on my very first solo uh vacation a week ago, um, over a week ago. Last Saturday would have made was my return date, and to Paradise Island, Hotel Rio, Nassau, Bahamas, and it was amazing. It was amazing. I saw Below Water. I had a room overlooking the water, uh, a balcony, a small balcony with two chairs where I could just prop my feet up. Um it was it's all inclusive, just beautiful. I love that it was adults only because I just wanted peace and quiet. It was just a beautiful experience. And I came back bringing my I brought back peace. I I left things at the water, I affirmed, I looked over. The ocean is the biggest example of our creator's magnificence. So it's so appropriate to stick your to to um place your feet in the ocean and to affirm and give thanks and look out and pray and vision. I did all of that and I came back renewed, restored, refreshed, you name it, um, ready. I came back ready. And so yesterday I caught up. I I my daughter had an appointment, an ongoing um uh bi-weekly appointment that I commit to spending time with my grandson with. So my grandson and I went out to eat. He loves to sit outside, so we sat outside, albeit in the shade, because that's all that was available. But you know, we did that. We ate together, we laughed, we talked. He's gonna be nine next month. Um, my daughter's gonna be 34 next month, which is unbelievable. And um, and then I took him to the park, we played soccer, we kicked around a soccer ball rather. Then, you know, I watched him accompany him as he ran back and forth to find things to, you know, to get on the swings. He goes extremely high, makes me very uncomfortable. And um I'm constantly having to tell him, hey, you know, please Gigi can't take it, please, you know, cool out. Uh, you know, go, you know, stop pumping the the swing so that you're going so high. Um, and you know, so we hung out for an hour. Then I went to the library, saw my professor's book. Uh things have really been in alignment for me. Let me just give you a small snippet. And these are minor things, but it means a lot. When you come from dysfunction the way I do, when you come from chaos the way I do, when you uh have experienced that whole saying of children learn what they live the way I have, you know, watching, you know, parents fighting, dad beating up mom, dad an alcoholic, mom experiencing mental illness, dad experiencing mental illness, um, and then you attract it because children learn what they live. So you attract it and recreate the chaos by whom you choose as a partner, then you struggle to to you make decent money, but you you don't have any uh financial guidance, nobody's guiding you. Um, so you make you love hard with your children, so you make poor choices financially, so that decent salary um is constantly wasted on, then you have a loving heart, so you're always giving to those in need, forgetting that you need to eat too, literally and figuratively. Um, then you're overcompensating again for your children and their needs. When you come from that type of chaos, when things are fall into place or in alignment, such as me choosing to go to Nassau, Bahamas, um picking this particular weekend, first picking January 28th, but then things feeling out of alignment there. So then picking the weekend of March 28th, exactly eight weeks later, and then and you're in grad school and your professor and the week that you're going to be out aligns with the fact that your professor is also going to be out that Wednesday, which is your class date. So while you're in NASA, you don't even have to worry about missing class because your professor is out. When those things align and you come from chaos, let me tell you, even though that may seem simple, that is a beautiful example of the fact that you are doing something right and you have you are putting or have put your life together so well, you're putting out so much love and light that alignment and love and light is following you. You are using your words, I am using my words to declare my I ams every day because, like I tell you constantly, whatever follows those two words, I am, follows you. Joel Osteen, Osteen, Osteen, uh, I don't know if I'm mispronouncing it, said it, Olstein, I think, said it, and I am repeating it constantly because I believe it, it resonates with my spirit. So every morning I am using my words to declare my I ams for me, for my children, for my grandchild, and for all those that I love. So when those words exemplify itself, all that power falls into things aligning. I am grateful. So it was an alignment for that. So anyway, yesterday I go into the library with my grandson and I look to the right and I see my professor's book um about handling the debt crisis. He's Dr. Jamal Watson, get the book. And um, if that if it applies, a lot of us are, you know, dealing with uh student loan debt. That's what the book is about, student loan debt crisis. So um I see that, and again, more alignment, and I immediately text him and I say, Hey, um, I walked into I send him the video and a picture, and I said, I walk into the library to do schoolwork with my grandson, and I see your book. He goes, Thank you. Who's this? I say, Maddie, your student. And he says, Oh, I just sent you a text checking on you. I said, Oh, I hope that you received my email that I sent, because as it would turn out, when I got back from Nassau, my son needed uh reconstructive surgery, another beautiful alignment where that's concerned. It went beautifully well, and it turns out he did not need reconstructive surgery, which would mean they would they would have taken a piece from his big toe to help deal with um his Achilles and his tendons issue, but they just they were able to do some really good repair. So, but it that meant that I would miss Wednesday's class. So, alignment number one is that I didn't miss class while I was in Nassau because my professor canceled class due to his own travel schedule, and then two, that means I only missed one class, and I'll tell you, for an adult who's working who has a very full life and is in grad school, I always give myself grace every semester. I allow myself to miss one class, and that is dependent on life incidents, experiences, needs, crisis. So my son having surgery, I needed to on that Wednesday, I needed to dedicate that day to him. So alignment number two was that this missing on the day that my son had the surgery, that would would be my one absence for the month for the semester. And I'm in my last semester, I graduated in May. Haha, thank you God. So alignment number two was seeing his book, choosing that library where his book was displayed as soon as I walked in and looked to the right, me even looking to the right, and then reaching out to him to dis and then him in our exchange finding out that he never received my email. So I don't know if I would have known that had that not happened. So that was alignment number two. So as soon as I settled in the library, I was able to send him. I realized that my email was still in draft form. So I sent him the email and was able to do my assignment. So that was me seeing how, again, following spirit to reach out to him, going being in alignment, right? And how important that is for the flow of life. Our goal is to have a find our rhythm to life, our goal is to be in flow with life, not fight it. The reason why I love Buddhism is because Buddhism's Buddhism, the principles of Buddhism, from my amateur understanding, is that you accept what is and you resist nothing. And that's what being inside the flow of life is. So you do not resist the urges, the hunches, the intuitive leads. You do not resist it, you go with it. So when I saw his book, I went with that to and then discovered sooner rather than later that I had not sent that um email. And then as soon, again, as soon as I settled, I sent him the email. My grandson and I spent the day at the library. I got to see how this eight-year-old little boy who again was born with a lot of challenges, he's in the hospital, in and out of the hospital often, and that his his his mother has to do a great deal, she has to sacrifice herself, um, and find try she's trying to find her balance so that she can give to herself. And I believe that those that are that have given, been given challenges, they have, they are built for it, and I believe that they are able to find the rhythm to take care of deal, address the challenge and also address themselves. So that is my affirmation for her. She's doing an amazing job with my grandson. He looks well, you would never know by looking at him that there's anything going on with him physically, and I'm seeing how as he's going to be nine, how independent he is, how he wants to do for me, and he wants to be treated as this young person, like uh with his own abilities. He doesn't want to be babied, so it was beautiful to see that. As I had to move, we had to move from where we were: laptop bag, my purse, his lunch bag, his his homework book bag. As I had to move because we sat in the wrong location. We had no we sat in a location that was dedicated to teenagers. And after being there for 30 minutes, I looked up and I saw it said, if you're not between the ages of 12 and 18, vacate the premises. So as I'm moving to another location, and I and he says, um, I I did my first round of gathering our things to move to where we to the new location from the old location, he says, Gigi, I got it. And he insisted on on moving the rest himself. And throughout the day, he just insisted on doing things himself. So that was beautiful to watch. So then his mom meets us at the library after her um appointment is has concluded, and his mom is saying, Hey, you know, I'm hungry, let's go. And my grandson, you know, is trying to find, even before his mother got there, she's trying, he's trying to find all the different ways he can convince me uh for us to stay together. Oh, you can go to our house and finish your homework, you know, da-da-da. I want us, and he's telling his mother, you know, I want to stay with Gigi. And then he starts to cry. And let me tell you something. Whoo, my grandson crying, especially when it connects to him wanting to be with me after I hadn't seen him over a week, because he said to me when I went to pick them up, he says, long time no see Gigi. And he's so clever, he's so witty, he's so full of character, and that makes me happy to see again because his life is challenging. He takes medicines, he has a lot of things going on for him physically that I won't share that the average child does not have to contend with, he has to deal with two major issues. Um that is, and it's all he and his mother knows. So life is challenging for him. At eight years old, months ago, he told me life doesn't always give you what you want, you don't always get what you want out of life. And he was very serious when he said it, and that touched my heart. I have to have a certain level of strength not to break down and cry and and give in to the pain of what those words mean and what his day-to-day reality means. Um, so anyway, getting back to why the day was so beautiful. So I um so I said, you know what? Because I am I typically when we get together, I take them out to dinner. Uh, I said, you know what? I'm almost finished my assignment. If you could give me a half hour, uh I'll take you out to dinner. And to see the smile on his face, to see the joy, and for him to stop crying, because again, that hurts me. He goes through too much. So I don't want to be the cause of his tears, especially when that those tears are connected to him wanting to spend time with his Gigi, with me. So his mom said, Okay, well, let me go find something to nosh on while you do your work. So we stayed, you know, he had homework, so he knocked out all his homework. He he had his iPad that I I'm happy that I was able to gift to him. And he's on his iPad and I'm doing my work, and then his mother comes back, and by the grace of God, again, things being in alignment, I was able to complete my assignment that was overdue, which I had promised in the email that I had sent to the professor that did not go um go through, and um, and then you know, I was able to submit it 10 minutes before the library was gonna close. And then I said, Okay, well, you know, we have our usals, we do Bus Boys and Poets, we do Thai, Bangkok Um 54, this Thai restaurant. But then I was like, you know, let's go to someplace new. My grandson loves to eat to sit outside. So even when we had he, he and I had had lunch before we went to the park, we sat outside and he wanted to sit outside again, and it was a little chilly. And when I said no, he gave me that look. So I said, Okay, well, we're gonna sit outside if you're fine with it. And as it turns out, the sun, the ray of the sun kind of hit us. Um, you know, we had this delightful meal, and um at uh founding farmers, we had never gone. I told Asha both Asha and my daughter and I were we felt like we wanted to try something new, like I said. So um she found that restaurant which was not far from the library, and we just sat outside, and you know, it warmed up, and my grandson kept us laughing. We had a delightful dinner, beautiful, delicious beverages, um, and we just had a beautiful day, and that's what life springtime and and summertime is about being outside, getting the vitamin D from the sun, um, you know, people watching, and just being free, being in the moment. So, yesterday, even despite all the challenges of life, the challenges that my daughter and my grandson experienced, the fact that my son had surgery and he's healing, but again, being in alignment, my his girlfriend, his lady was there to help him all day yesterday. Me getting my work done, me connecting with my my my professor on without knowing that I needed to because he didn't receive my email, so he was worried and and also, you know, wondering what's going on with this student who's supposed to be graduating next month. I mean, all of that um was just a a beautiful, beautiful day. It was a beautiful day of things being in alignment, of enjoying life, being in flow, being opened to possibilities. And I just wanted to share that with you today. So I guess the bottom line and the message today is if there's chaos in your life, follow your intuitive lead. Know that you have the power to create a life that flows, that's tailor-made to you. Your life is a every morning when you wake up, your life is a blank canvas, and you have the ability to paint it, to paint that day, to paint that week, to paint that month, to paint that year, to paint the next seven years, the way you want to sho to suit your needs, your wants, your likes, your dislikes. You have the power. You come here alone, you leave here alone. So it's up to you to take your life into your own hands and most importantly, into your own words and thoughts. Now we have good and bad thoughts, so it's okay to say I'm happy and grateful that my positive thoughts and prayers have all the power and my negative thoughts and fears have no power. And when that negativity comes up, when you start beating up on yourself, when you start doing negative talks, or when you're being pessimistic, change the channel, turn it off, put on some music, open a book, watch your favorite show, but change the channel. Because words are spells, just like food. Food can either help heal you or harm you. Words can either help you or harm you, they can set the trajectory of your life so that your life falls in flow and is in alignment, or they can create chaos, but it's up to you. So my prayer for you is that your life is in flow and that your life, everything that you do, falls in alignment, and that you move through this world with peace and ease. You create a bubble around yourself. Yes, there are things that you cannot control, but a wise one once said, and I read it in order to control the situation, you must first control yourself, and that is my wish for you. Ciao for now.
