In this episode, I share a deeply personal milestone: I have finally created a space to create—a sanctuary where I can dream, reflect, manifest, and bring to life the vision I've carried in my heart for decades.
This space is more than a room. It is a declaration that my dreams matter and that I am worthy of making room for them.
My hope is that this short story inspires you to create a space of your own—a place that calls you back again and again, awakens your creativity, nurtures your imagination, and invites the artist, dreamer, and visionary within you to emerge.
Because sometimes, creating the life you've always imagined begins with creating the space where it can finally take shape.

Guess what, guess what? Guess what? I am sitting in my artist room and I am waiting on a young lady from Task Rabbit to come and put my bookshelf together and a long extended seventy eight 78-inch desk. I am finally, finally in a space mentally where I can work in my artist's room. I put this room together two years ago. My team, I work for with, I work with beautiful people. Beautiful people, and we have uh mutual respect, and I would dare say, at least on my end, an admiration for one another, every holiday the I am gifted with in addition to what the firm gives us a bonus, my team gives me money. And two years ago, I took that money, and even though things were in a dark and heavy place, I managed to turn a room that was pink into blue, a navy blue, and just had fun. Um, I ordered a rug that had multiple colors in it, and I had fun just purchasing what I was drawn to. So there's gold, there's white, there's acrylic, and I just purchased what I was drawn to, and then because my home outside of the artist's room is black, white, and gray, that's the aesthetics, the colors, and all that. Um it was fun for me to, so that means you know, things are coordinated along the lines of black, white, and gray, uh, and I love that. I love that for me. It is definitely a strong expression of my personality. The artist room is another side of me that I don't often explore, so but I have all these artists in my life, and I have all these colorful paintings in my life, one significant one being uh a painting of my sister and I that my son made for me uh years ago as a Mother's Day gift, and that and in that there are red roses, there's a yellow sunset background, I'm in navy blue, my sister is in white and black, and uh then I have this my what I call my manifestation piece. When I lived in my second home, this is the third home I've lived in. When I lived in my second home in Northwest DC, I colored cut all my hair off for the umpteenth time, colored it blonde, and when I tell you that blonde color just inspired the artist and me. It I painted my living room red, I painted my kitchen uh some type of uh a dark, dark silvery-ish green, and um and again, you know, I did all of this, these were designs on a dime, right? On a budget, high-end pieces, low-end pieces. So speaking of low-end pieces, I needed a a a uh artwork to tie both the rooms in the living room. Uh, this is a home built in the nine, it was a a row house. Um, I think they're considered row houses, like town homes in DC. Um, but we had the end unit, so we shared a wall. And um you when you walk into those homes, they were they were built in the 1920s, very small closets. Um, but when you walk in, you walk in, you go up the stairs, you walk in, there's no foyer. There we had like an um a uh deck, you know, a front deck, like uh with an awning. Um, however, you walk in, you walk into the living room, there's steps to the to the left that takes you to the to the um bedrooms, then from the living room you can see the dining room slash kitchen, very small house. Then there's a carport in the back, there's a basement. So, anyway, so when you so when you walk in, you see the red room, then you see the green kitchen, so I needed a manifestation piece, and uh I'm sorry, I call it my manifestation piece. I needed a piece of artwork to tie it together, and I woke up one moment morning, I looked at my fella and I said, We need to go to this thrift store on Georgia Avenue because I need a manifestation piece, and so I set it so it manifested. I walked in and for $10 I found um a piece of art with the same exact red on my walls in the living room and the same exact green in my in my dining room slash kitchen, and that piece from that moment, which was dating back to 2011-ish, 12-ish, to today to this year, 2026, this piece reminds me of how powerful I am, that I am able to come up with an idea, envision it, follow my intuitive lead, manifest it, and reap the blessings of that manifestation. That same power I have, you have. So as I'm sitting here, I'm looking across this, I'm looking across my small artist room, which by the way is my Spirit Lifters Production Company's headquarters. And I am just feeling so full because now the vision is completed. Now, when I first did it, I did it my way. Mike's grandson and I actually put the furniture together, moved the rug, and it was very special, you know. We um it's very special as a grandmother to have the the opportunity to do some little activities with your grandson that means as much to you as it does to him. For example, yesterday we did something that I've I don't think I've done, I don't think I've done. I think I've hired people to do. Um, but we pulled weeds, we watered the the grass, and we put a sign in the in the grass, but that didn't work. We we need stronger muscles for that. But my grandson and I put this room together years ago, and and he's only nine, so he was really young, and um so that makes the room even more special to me. So to now, but the pieces that we purchased, even though the room felt beautiful and it's a deep blue, even the ceilings are painted with white doors and white window sill borders, um, and you know, white moldings, for some reason it didn't, I I couldn't manifest in here, you know. I would come in here, but and then once I gave away the sewing table that I didn't put together that well, and I am gifting hopefully the clothing rack that is supposed was supposed to um house my creations. Once I took the clothes and put it in the closet, I reorganized the closet to reflect all the projects and all the businesses that will fall under the trust Spirit Lifters Production Company. The room felt ready for me, it felt ready for me to create. Right now it's an open space because I'm giving room for the young lady to um spread out as she puts, you know, bills the desk and the and the the bookcase. However, and this is the point of me coming here to talk to you right now. I created a space that I'm excited to come into. I created a space that is calling me to come and create and work in greeting cards, books to author or to edit, podcasts to produce, clothing lines to sew and design, mentoring, counseling, life coaching, mommy mentoring. All of this will be done in this room. So it is so important, I'm reminded, so I'm decided to remind you that it's so important to create a space that you're excited to come to. Your home, a room where you want to meditate and read, a space where you want to create. And I'm I think we are all creators on some level. Every single one of you, you have a gift. You have a gift. There is something that you were gifted that is calling you to re-gift to the world. So I'm looking across at my cousin Katrina, uh, Katrina Carter, look her up on social media on IG, and her amazing artwork. I'm looking at Honda, look her up on IG, H A N D I, and Katrina's K-A-T-R-Y-N-A. And she gifted me her artwork. I'm looking at Mama Fia and the I mean, this is going back 20 years ago, the trilogy she made of my two children and me. And that was my inspiration piece created over 20 years ago to inspire me to be creative. Each of these ingredients, each of these items in this room serve as ingredients that I've been creating and manifesting and and been drawn to for now we can see for decades. And today it all comes together. This is the beginning of it coming together. And my daughter, who is an amazing stylist, um, she's going to help me. She feels like there's something that I need to tie it all together. Because, like I said, out unlike my home, where everything, you know, makes sense, the artist's room is filled with all my ideas. But isn't that what being an artist is about? Right? Being free, being free to just be and let whatever comes to you manifest and and come through you. So, nonetheless, she feels that there's something that I need to tie it all together. But today is the beginning of that. And because I've created a space that I'm excited to come to, I'm excited about seeing what she or we come up to with eventually to tie it all together. But I'm just excited that I created a space finally, little by little, piece by piece, item by item, that I'm excited about. Brick by brick, I'm building a life that I'm ecstatic about. Brick by brick, layer by layer, accomplishment by after accomplishment. I'm creating the life that I dreamed about decades ago. Even if I didn't have the full dream, like when I woke up that morning and I looked at my fellow and I said, I need a piece that ties these two rooms together. The living room, the dining room, slash kitchen. I need a piece. I didn't know, the only thing I knew was that it needed to have red and green, but I didn't know what it would look like. I knew that it needed to be cost effective, hence the pull to the thrift store. So you may not have the entire picture, but you know that there's something stirring in your soul that's pulling on you. And I'm pretty confident that there will be things that will pop up along the way on your journey that will remind you of those things that's stirring in you. It's a quiet, it's a little excitement, it's a quiet excitement. You know, the hair on your arms may prickle, you may feel like a tingling sensation. But brick by brick, with ease, with joy, with excitement, with patience. Because when we're creating, we have to have that patience. Some things may take a little longer than others. This room took a little longer, but I held on to the room. I held on to the artwork, I held on to the vision, I held on to the longing. I held on to the desire. I didn't deny myself the desire. I created a space where I can create that I am longing and excited to come to. And that is what I want for you. Peace and love to be continued. Ciao for now.
