Healthcare, Heritage, Giving: Sara Crown Star
Sara Crown Star is a Venture Partner at FemHealth Ventures, a firm advancing innovations in women’s health. FemHealth Ventures Fund I, with a 0.93x DPI and 40.2% IRR, ranked in the top 10% of VC funds in the 2021 vintage. She previously served as a director at Thinx, a FemTech company she helped grow, and which was sold to Kimberly Clark. Sara sits on the boards of 1871, Musicians on Call, the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago, and several foundations, including the Crown Family Foundations. She has also practiced law and served on the board of Crown Family Philanthropies and the Latin School of Chicago. Sara holds a B.S. from UNC-Chapel Hill, a J.D. from Georgetown Law, and an Executive MBA from Kellogg. In 2013, she was a Runner-Up in Giordano’s Dancing with the Stars competition and co-produced two Off-Broadway shows.
