[0:12] Welcome to Stargate SG-1 for the first time. Still not a Star Trek podcast. My name is Jeff Akin and I'm watching Stargate SG-1 for the first time.
[0:24] I'm sorry.
[0:27] Movie man. Hey, I've heard that's a phenomenal movie. Hey, I am Brent Allen. I'm watching Stargate SG-1 for the 47th time. But for the first time, I am looking for what Stargate is trying to teach us. You know those lessons that hold up a mirror to society give us hope things can be better in the future or just tell us Jeff that you and I have had lots of these conversations lately how can we be better people to one another maybe we'll have some of those conversations today as we watch the eighth episode of the third season of SG1 Demons last week when you said this is what we're going to watch I guess this is going to be kind of our first foray into some Sokar stuff Sokar is apparently like the devil and there's going to see some of his demons and we're going to start setting him up as uh i don't know the new apophis if as as it were the new apophis the new the phil the apophis is apophis and so car is so car but he's going to fill the story role that he's filled for us the new bad guy is what you're saying big bad yeah, right so we'll see why don't you uh give us a little bit of the details on demons well very few details uh for this episode august 13th 1999 is when it premiered this is the eighth episode of season three.
[1:42] Two things, actually, I do want to point out. This is a Peter DeLuise-directed episode, which means, yes, there is a cameo. Jeff, I'm actually going to tell you who he is in this one. We're just going to have to look for him. He is titled as Screaming Villager.
[1:57] So let's look for the Screaming Villager. We'll try to point out Peter DeLuise. We're going to look for it together. I've never noticed the Peter DeLuise cameos except for in a handful of episodes. I didn't know that he basically does it every time he directs. That's new information to me. Here's the other thing. Last week, we watched Dead Man's Switch, right? Flash Gordon. Flash Gordon's there. Did you notice he had a little scar over his eyebrow? I sure did. Yeah, I like that. That's part of his deal. Okay. So apparently, they thought it was so cool or whatever. In today's episode, just look for it. Jack is going to get a scar. That is that exact same kind of scar. Really? Now, what I cannot confirm is that they did it because of Flash Gordon. Flash was so cool. You got to do this. Now, Richard Dean Anderson does not have a scar in his eyebrow. Okay. Okay. But something will happen to him today that will give him a little cut right above his eye. And he will carry this as part of his makeup for the rest of the show. Really? Yeah. Okay. Which is basically like, I think it's just they sat in the makeup trailer and thought, like, yeah, this makes Jack look badass. So let's do it.
[3:08] Yeah. Toughen him up a little bit. Right. Right. So be on the lookout for the scar or for the for the cut. Actually, I guess we're going to see today that is that is coming up. No spoilers as to what actually happens or how he gets it or what goes on. Bangs his head into a pipe or something else. Jeff. So, Jeff, with that, that is all I have. That means it's time to go watch an episode, pal. Let's go do it. Hey, listen, if you guys are here for the first time, first of all, welcome. You guys are amazing. We are awesome. We love you guys. What's about to happen here is Jeff and I are going to go watch this episode right now. It's not like we watched this episode prior to hitting record. Nope. We are literally, we pressed record. Now we're going to go watch it, but we're not pressing pause and record Jeff. We're going to keep recording. Okay. Because we're going to record our reactions, Jeff's reactions, my reactions to watching this episode together. If you're on YouTube, you're going to catch that reaction video. If you guys want the full unedited behind the scenes version of how we put all this together and what happens, go over to our Patreon account. That's patreon.com slash.
[4:08] Bye nerds. And you guys can catch all the fun details of how you can sign up to receive those as well. If you're listening on a podcasting app, you're going to gate into the future. You're going to catch us on the other side where I'm going to share my first time reactions. Brent's going to talk about any of the sci-fi messages he found, and that's going to be, oh, in about 45 seconds from now, Brent, why don't you kick this off demons? Let's kick this pig.
[4:46] This path is well traveled Which means the Stargate is still in use by someone Or some.
[4:55] Was austin powers a thing in 1999 i think it came out in 99 it was okay well there you go that's it right there looks like a church 97 came out what there you go most likely christians reside here on the hill thank you teal this is the first sign of christianity we've encountered sir in hundreds of missions which means they probably had been taken from somewhere in medieval europe through the Antarctic gate. Well, which go out? That's a good question. You've asked. You've asked about this before. Yep. About if we ever will encounter, encounter, you know, Christianity with all the other religions we've got going on. Right, if a gould comes in and takes one of those mantles on. Yeah. Then we shall see. Let's find out. Which go out? We've encountered the same way ancient human populations have taken on the roles of those cultures. Well, Okar. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we got it. Well, if these people were already Christians, when they were taken from Earth it suggested this school is playing God as in God, God. It's a bit of a stretch, don't you think? I know of no God will keep showing the necessary compassion or benevolence that I've read of in your Bible. They're just not nice enough. It is a significant part of your Western culture. Have you not read the Bible, O'Neal? Oh, yeah. Yeah, not all of it. Almost nobody has ever actually... Almost nobody who says that has ever actually done it. Don't tell me how it ends.
[6:18] We're still waiting to see. Or are we?
[6:26] It's always interesting. Are they afraid because they're unknown people or because there's a Jaffa leading the crew? I promise you that question will be answered. They're not buying it, Danny. Danny. Oh, Danny boy. The Vorlon. It's like an icon where you've got the crucifixion you got hell underneath it looks like, he's reading it okay still have that medieval sense of justice apparently what was she doing talking in public showed her hair right showed her ankles yeah, friends you think they're vampires i am simon you have come through the circle of darkness The Stargate, yes. Circle of Darkness. You must be of his brethren. I beg of you. Mary is so young. She did nothing to warrant sacrifice. Whoa! What sacrifice? You leave her body. The village canon may choose another possessed soul. You think we're demons. He thinks we're demons. Uh-huh. Demons can take many shapes. Major Carter, shield her eyes. Shield her eyes. I'm going to do something terrible. I always feel like what if that super heats the metal and it goes yeah.
[7:51] We're not demons. And Mary is not possessed. From the looks of it, she's a little sick. If you let us, we might be able to help her. We have these things called antibiotics. And soap. We can just wash your hands. Right. Hey, so we've actually seen this guy before, Jeff. Really? He's a guest actor. He was in the episode Korai, the one that was blaming Teal'c for the death of his father. Yeah. That's the same actor. Obviously a different role, but... Chimapox. Trust me. Time of sacrifice is at hand. The elders will have to perform the trepanning ritual tonight to cleanse her. Well, they drill a hole in the person's head. By drilling the hole, the little spirits are released of saving the person from eternal damnation. Or thus, release his pressure on the brain. You know, they call it Dark Ages because it was dark. The demon comes! The scourging and corrupt. The demon comes! That's him. That was him. That was Peter DeLuise. Screaming villager. Yeah, that was Screaming villager. That snarling definitely sounded like a demon.
[9:01] Whoa. Bringing him back, baby. I thought there only was one. Unas, uno, one. The time of sacrifice is at hand. Does he have a symbiote? Yes.
[9:20] I have wretched souls to be claimed as his. It's most definitely not James Earl Jones' voice, though. No. No. He's playing the devil. Would you like to know who it is? The actor? Yeah. Who is it? Yeah. Well, actually. No. I'll tell you after this. Okay. It's not a demon. He's going to be like, oh, okay. All right. Right. Thanks for clearing that up. This demon is nothing more than a parasite that inhabits another creature. Show him. Your fear is the greatest power over you. You do not fear it? We do not. Simon, do you want us to do this? We're not in God's hands. There's no way he understands the threat. It means nothing to him. Yeah, but he's getting consent. I mean, of course, he's asking one person to speak for the entire planet right now. But still. It's like, hey, we're going to do this thing. Something bad might happen. You don't understand it. Is it cool if we do this thing that you've wanted for thousands of years? Is that all right? So this is not the same actor that plays colonel mayborn you ever come down the path but i always feel like he's like his stunt double or something something like that you give them entrance to your home yes but i do not believe they mean us harm the tricks of satan and his minions are many we come as friends sir exactly what a demon would say.
[10:37] He's going to kiss him. This one bears the mark of the devil. You had to get that close to see it. If you are human, as you say, then your souls are dead. All right, that's enough. Have a nice day. You shall be strut down. Okay, thanks. Oh.
[11:08] Yikes what do you think that is it's got a ship in outer space just hanging out like shot a probably blast down or something like probably some kind of sort of satellite or something like that uh satellite that'd make more life can you imagine doing something like that with just like a i mean that's like some apple technology i'm doing such some swipes talk about swiping left man yeah i picked that right although it really is just the whole paint with a laser thing it just happens to be on a ring that's what it looked like where's our friend it has been decided he must endure the tests what tests he's evil tilk's like if i had a nickel for every time something like this happened to me i'd have like two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird this keeps happening you know i know we're counting tilks and deeds but maybe we should count the number of times he gets put in shackles oh he's getting borderline scourged right now right that is that is not the best makeup job i've ever seen demons but who will not shrink from committing they will kill him think about how those happened to him like what happened to cause those wounds that doesn't make any sense by god to seek out those spares had a nine tails across the face maybe maybe with only two tails.
[12:22] Okay wrong response tilk this part may not hurt the part right here below right freaking hurts and if this thing is metal now i know we earlier talked about heat transference with the shaggers that's gonna go through real quick tilk there's a time to be tough it's not a time not a time This is where I want Tilt to be like, ow, no. Yeah. Stop. Please. Ouch. This is very unpleasant. Thrust into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world. We'll go back where we came from. He's innocent. You son of a bitch. Ouch. That's his thing. He literally could have just done this the first time.
[13:30] The lies men tell in the name of God to maintain their power Sure.
[13:38] Generational lies Yeah Just as the wheat is separated from the chaff, they speak no more of this. He maintains power by controlling who gets sacrificed and who doesn't. No more. I have asked for this dispensation, and he has granted it.
[13:52] I cleaned him up real nice. Where's our gear? Mana Tapping's doing a really good job looking for real sad and concerned about this, like trying to suck us into the illusion that Tilk is really dead. I'm just really curious how they're going to plow their way out of it. You can bury the Stargate after we've gone through. That should prevent the Eunice and anything else from... I cannot do that. It surprises me you just don't know. I mean the circle. Well, the Symbiote should fix him up, right? Simon, we are ready. They ask that I care for. If you're not willing to help it falls to me to try to cleanse her soul before they can and choose it I have no choice you'll kill her better that she die among us than at the hands of the devil himself considering that Unus is like the devil who comes out and looks like him for reasonable fear, Tukul will have died for nothing if nothing good comes from this okay I'll tell you what it's going to be a lot of pain here in a second but Let's see if I can stop these people from drilling a hole in the head of a young girl. You're all high and mighty, Daniel. Jeez. Right, right. Fevers, Dan. I remember those little temperature strips. Oh, yeah. Have you released that which possessed me? You got better all by yourself, Mary. There was never a demon inside you. Just a viral infection. So, Simon. Which could be considered a demon, depending. You would happen to have the keys to these, would you?
[15:15] Totally the right response. Right. I mean, when you sit up like The Undertaker. Uh-huh. There's a reason that gimmick worked for 30 years so well. Exactly. Exactly. It's terrifying. Teal, you're alive? I guess so. Way to go, Junior! My symbol did sustain me. If somebody didn't know the physiology of a Jaffa, that could come across a really different way. Right. It must have filtered the oxygen And fed it into Teal'c But there is actually a very logical explanation for this Yes, there is You don't understand The thing living inside of him They are evil, all of them What do you want from us? He passed your test These forests will be the first chosen Sacrifice Simon, get out here and do something, It's a long time for them to be hanging out out there I don't think anything we say Would make a difference, especially not after Teal'c's Resurrection. That's the question I always ask in situations like this. How'd they use the bathroom? Ooh, Nasu, Nasu, Nasu. Just on them?
[16:28] Oh, me apple. If they truly are servants of Satan, why does he resist? Oh, starting to question. Are you a man of this world? No. No, we're not. Mary, we're going to take a little tumble, so... Oh, literally.
[16:54] He's got the staff. Do it, Simon. It's a good thing he knows how to use the staff. Helpful. Well, maybe. There you go. Keep shooting. See what color blood he has there? Uh-huh. That's very bright green. Shoot!
[17:24] Copper-based blood. It worked well as a team. Back and forth. What have you done demon comes release me, oh cannon's gonna get blasted my god he's with me always there you go.
[17:56] Like david before goliath the demon threw him aside and then he fell the unus wounded to sphere, even the Gwold within him cannot save him so and bled out not a demon as you said, they have opened my eyes Sokar will be awaiting the return of the Unas he will send others, which is why you've got to bury the circle of darkness after we've gone through I feel like they say that bury the Stargate like it's just a thing to do right it takes to take that thing down and dig a hole that big for a society like this, I was gonna say because it's surely it's standing it's sitting in some sort of a of a rut So you've got to get that cleared out to where it can even go up. Because you're not going to lift it up. No. No way. Or just push it over. Like, no way. What happened? It went into him. What went into him? Go no further. Oh. I've done nothing. My children. Thank goodness for Joel and R. Positive, sir. I didn't sense it. The Eunice host was dying. It had nowhere else to go. It went into him.
[18:59] Do you have something else we should try to track sometime, Jeff? I'm not gonna do it. How many times did they actually kill a ghoul? Yeah. Like, there goes another one. This one may not be a system lord, but, you know. But it's still a ghoul. Yeah. A ghoul. Is that the symbiote or the canon asking for forgiveness? In your agony in the garden, we'll bury the gate immediately. And there will be no more sacrifices. Thank God. Uh. Juice. The Stargate, as a mechanism, is such a great, like, just, and the episode starts, and the episode ends. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, this is the second episode in a row we haven't even been to the SGC. Exactly. Like, we haven't seen Sam Hammond in two episodes.
[19:54] Well, Jeff, welcome back. Welcome back to you. I want to welcome back the audio listeners who have just gated into the future. They have joined us. You and I have just watched the episode demons you for the very first time, me for the 47th time, but you, my friend, take us through it. Your very first watch through. What about it? Right out of the gate. Get it right out of the gate.
[20:17] Didn't even mean to do that. Wow. Well, right out of the gate. I was pretty excited about this one because as you pointed out very early on in this journey of Stargate SG one, I was like, hey, do we ever get like Christianity in this whole thing? Do we get the ghouls playing that? And this was such a cool take on this. There was a line, I think Jack said, where he's like, oh, they're not playing God. They're playing the devil. So it's not like we're going to have a ghoul as Jesus or as God or even as Moses or Elijah or anything like that. None of the big names. Let's flip it, right? And just like, let's be Satan. And they straight out called Sokar Satan. Yeah. That's who he was. Yeah. It's a really cool idea for, I don't know, playing that up. And I think it's just, I think it's brave of the series to do that. So far, we've seen it take on dead cultures and dead religions for, you know, for the most part. I'm sure there's people out there still practicing them and, you know, more power to them.
[21:18] But this is a very modern, thriving religion in the world, and they're going to take it on. Now, they took it on in the medieval sense of it, which I think was a great mechanism for them to tell a very scathing side of Christianity. That arguably was some of the worst expression of the Christian faith in history was during that time used to do horrible things to people. And we saw that happen in this one. I enjoyed this episode for that. Right like let's take a critical look.
[21:55] At a moment in time, you know, that still reverberates into into the present for us. When I was watching this, I really thought that there's a version of my recap, a version of you going into the sci-fi messages where we do what we've done quite a bit in the Babylon, on our Babylon 5 podcast and start diving into how the Christian faith was displayed, how it was shown, you know, in a way that's not relevant anymore or whatever. But I don't know that that's really, I don't know if that's the value in this one. I think it was a neat, it was neat. Like I want to call it, it was neat they did that. I hope that we get more, you know, of like, because there's such a, for being a monotheistic religion, there's quite a pantheon in Christianity, you know, of things to pull out. You got the angels and, you know, they even invoke St. Michael the Archangel in this one. So I hope we see more of that, you know, from the Gould. I think it would be very interesting. But all in all like okay there's the christian thing it happened i loved the casting of the canon oh yeah through the very end the dude who played the canon was you just wanted to punch him in the face the whole oh yeah yeah yeah yeah he just played that whole like especially when he says to simon he's like you need to stop asking so many questions kid and he's eating you know, Let me ask you this, and this is me getting a little real.
[23:23] Folks that have been around this show have been around us for quite a while. You've heard several soliloquies. Uh, mostly, mostly by me, but you too, about the ideas of forgiveness and how that gets couched in everyday life and being free to forgive, um, and being generous with forgiveness. Was there a part of you or maybe a huge part of you or just every part of you that when he says at the end, he goes, forgive me that you were just like, no, I don't want to. A hundred percent. Yeah. But I had, but I had a whole thought process there of like, he's like, forgive me. I'm like, no. And then I thought, wait, is that the symbiote or is that the canon asking for forgiveness? Cause if it's the symbiote, I'm not interested in his forgiveness. You know, like that's total deathbed confessional, you know, it's like, oh shoot. Now that it's all apart now, dude, literally four minutes ago, you were trying to murder everybody here. Right. But if it was the canon asking for forgiveness, I'm kind of all in for that.
[24:28] He said, I am. He said, and this, you know, here we go. He says, had I not seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed.
[24:36] And that, right, that's such a huge part of the story after the resurrection and the gospels. Sure.
[24:42] Thomas, right, we call him Doubting Thomas because he's like, until I see him, until I put my finger into his wounds, I will not believe that he's back. And then Jesus does show up. He's like, yeah, here, go. Yep see there i am and we use that you know to this day as like that you know thing of faith you know do you have to see it well he did canon saw it and immediately was like oh shoot i was wrong up to that point in his life he had no reason to think he was wrong i think that's a thing that's difficult in episodes like this is we can watch it in fact i'll say we and captain kirk can watch it because in a big way this was a tos episode of hey we're going to come to this planet we're going to completely rip your society apart and then tell you to shut it down and we're going to leave right but they're going to come in and look at this and be like yeah this is messed up it's not okay but when they were asking him about his ring that really cool ring he had that activated the satellite or the whatever that was doing they never really explained that did they not at all and you know what that's okay didn't need it yeah don't need it if this was made today they would because you have to explain everything now you know sure donate he's got a ring it does a thing it's probably some gould something but what's important about that ring is they've been passed down through generations so we know that this society has been in place for at least a thousand years according to daniel probably more so at that i mean when you when you have a literal.
[26:10] Monster walking through your village scooping people up and saying that they're the devil, uh you're gonna believe that's the devil like there it is and so the canon was doing his job now he like many people who were given that kind of power totally let it go to his head right it was clearly making some choices that were self-serving or whatever but at the end when he saw that he was wrong, maybe that was him asking for forgiveness. And Simon, Simon was on it. You want forgiveness? Here it is.
[26:42] When he was saying that at the end, he was saying the, that the prayer, I just, I had, I had flashbacks to passing through Gethsemane from Babylon five, where it's just like, yeah, you go. And when you ask for that forgiveness, you, you, you, you get it, you know? And, and as we've talked about many times, you get it, maybe not right away you know but you get it simon was all about giving it i was way into this episode all the way until the end not the very end but like just before the end he show up unas is down on the ground is green blood he's you know out canon's over there like oh my goodness and he's like oh yeah um his wounds were too bad so like he hit dude and then he and then he died and i'm like it was seriously he bled out that's it like those couple we needed thor's hammer to take out james roll jones unus yeah yeah a couple stash shots and he bleeds out and we don't even get to see it i was you know that makes that makes me sad you push that through because you know who was the unus in this one huh or at least the voice it was chris judge seriously yeah oh yeah So we needed Doris Hammer for James Earl Jones Azunas, but for Chris Judge Azunas, just... Yeah, a couple staff shots. And the thing is, too, wouldn't a staff cauterize your wounds right away? Not important. We won't go into that.
[28:11] I don't see a lot of value there. But I was just like, really? He's going to die just like that?
[28:16] Yeah. This horrible, scary thing? I don't know.
[28:21] That took a lot of the wind out of the sails in this one for me. But up to that point, in the very end of it, I really enjoyed it. We've dived in a little bit already, but Brent, were there any sci-fi messages that you were able to pull out of this one? Um, You know, Jeff, way back when, when I was doing speech and other things, no, I had a professor of mine who basically taught us how to deliver speeches, sermons, whatever, with great conviction. One of the things he said was you should always have a cannon shot for the heart. And a lot of times when you listen, people don't have the cannon shot for the heart. they it's more like they just pick up like a handful of pebbles and they just sort of throw them at you and see what happens as far as messages go i feel like this is more of the the pebbles they got thrown at me more than just here's the message they were going for uh that being said i did i did pull some out of here uh there's one right at the very beginning jack says and by the way i want to run these through the litmus test of hope for a better future, um, mirror to society and how can we be better humans to each other? Right. Kind of, kind of, that's, that's the litmus test I'm using. So, uh, Jack says, how long have these people been like this? A thousand years.
[29:39] That's long enough. We have the power to help these people and we should. And then he turns to the guy and he goes, do you want us to help? I don't know how much I'm on the train of, we have the power to help. And so we should, or we have an obligation to, we have that idea. This is an idea certainly that was that was around when I was a kid growing up like hey if you see somebody getting beat up you don't do anything about it you know that's on you and you're just as guilty as the other person I don't know that I'm actually with that these days I get the idea but, You know, I don't think that's a hard, fast rule. Okay. But I love what Jack did next. He said, do you, I can help you. We can help do this. I'm here ready and available to help. Do you want my help? I appreciated that. The sideways side of that is he's asking one guy to ask for help on behalf of everybody else out there. And a guy who actually didn't have the authority to say that. Yeah. Minutes after he asked him, he's like, oh, that guy, he's our spiritual leader over there. It's like, okay. And then he asked that guy and the guy was like, no. And he goes, and Jack just went on and goes, okay, let's go home. Now, the rest of the episode still had to happen, so obviously they didn't go home. I believe that's when we got the little ringy thingy. But still, at least being ready to offer help when it is within your capacity to do so. And then ask. Like, I think that's really the great that, like, ask, like, do you want me to help?
[31:02] And if not, the answer, like, giving people the ability to say no is huge. Massive. So there's that one. I like this one. Talking about a mirror to society. Oh, Jeff, it's hard to watch this and not think of a mirror to society, whether present-day society or even past-day society. But a total abuse of power by people in charge. I'm not even going to limit it to the Christian and Catholic Church. I'm just going to show it to everything. Abuse of power by the people in charge. He tells the guy at one point, basically, he's like, look, if you don't do what I want you to do, the next time they come around, I can't protect you. In other words, you're going to be one of the ones that go off and I'm going to make sure that you go. If you don't, if you don't do what I tell you to do. Filthy. That's so dirty. But how often does that happen? Oh, yeah. You know, how often if you if you don't play like this, then you're never going to be a part of this again. Or whatever. I've been in those shoes before.
[32:02] Maybe not with so many words, but certainly an abuse of power in that. And I mean, I think we can certainly think of thousands of times through history when people have abused their power, you know, for sure. I think when you're a victim to stuff like that, you tend to see it more clearly and earlier than people. Anyway, but then this one, this might have actually been my favorite one. How can we be better humans to each other? I'm listed under that one. At the very end, the cannon's been taken over and then he's been shot and he says, forgive me. Was it the gold was it canon does it really even matter and simon does even though he had every right not to he had every right not to he had every right to be like no i gotta be honest i want him to say no every single time i'm watching like nope not for you yeah not for you londo not going to happen but then he in an amazing set of uh maturity goes, Yes, I will forgive you knowing that that guy right there is about to die. There's nothing he can do to redeem himself, pay him back. That's the idea of forgiveness.
[33:18] That's why the irredeemable can be redeemed because there's nothing that they can do to be redeemed. They have to be redeemed by another. They have to be forgiven by another. Yeah. You know, like I said, a lot of throwing pebbles. No big like pebbles. was any of that what they were trying to go for i i don't i don't know that you can do a living, religion and not show stuff like this and not want to put stuff like that on tv but was there any anything uh do they what are they all amalgam to i'm gonna give them one chevron each three chevrons for me for this episode that works they're good pebbles they weren't driven home or anything is just kind of there and that works three three is a good that's very generous it's good it's very generous he says well jeff uh you know my job my friend is to rate these episodes it is your job to rank these episodes and are 100 completely accurate and definitive ranking of season three of stargate sg1 this is episode eight you have seven on the list so far that order of seven at the top of the list is fair game going down number two is learning curve number three is into the fire four is legacy five is dead man switch i'll go ahead and round out the last two point of view it coming in at number six and seth coming in at number.
[34:45] Seven jeff where are you placing in our ranking this episode brent we have a new top five coming up until the very end of this episode oh and it all kind of fell apart for me i'm that that unis dying the way that it died just really killed it for me this is gonna be our new number six right under dead man switch fair enough i don't i don't disagree with that one uh in the least not in the least at all, all right jeff um well with that uh i guess there's only one more bit of business to do, that's it for the end of demons we're officially done with that moving on to the next episode would you like to know what that episode is titled yeah let me know all right make a guess here's the title rules of engagement rules of engagement sg1 is going to go to a planet.
[35:41] That's my prediction. No, they're going to go to a planet. They're going to do something wrong, essentially. And they're going to come back. Hammond has to, I don't know, lock him up. There'll be some sort of an investigation, something like that. That in the end, turns out everything was fine. But this is going to be more. We're heading back to the SGC. And not going to spend a lot of time on another planet. Maybe they won't even see it. They'll go in. They'll come back out. Or maybe the episode will start with them coming back in the SGC. And Jack's just like, yep. It all fell apart, whatever, and Hammond's like, yeah, I've got to lock you up, and then they're going to go over the rules of engagement. Here you go. I'm not speaking one bit to the quality of this episode. In fact, I'd say this episode fits perfectly in season three, right where it is. It is one that I tend to like a lot, though. Oh, yeah.
[36:30] Again, I'm not speaking to the quality of the episode. For whatever reason, this episode tickles my fancy. All right. I dig it. I don't know how other people feel about it. I don't know how the fandom as a whole, but I don't mind saying that. Anyway, I don't usually give you that, but I do enjoy this next episode a bit.
