I done forgot where we put the pens at. But um, no, this week was good, bro. Uh just kind of get back into the flow of things for real. Just getting back into a sense of normalcy and routine because last couple weeks have been uh abnormal, I guess uh say is a word. But you know, but it's all it's been all a blessing, you know, to nonetheless. So I'm good, man. I'm good.
SPEAKER_00I'm glad to be back, bro. Glad to be back, like back like we never left.
SPEAKER_04Well, look, man, we're gonna um kind of just roll on down. I know I mentioned on every episode, but you know, the religious podcast is sponsored by this parent company, Mogul Incorporated, which is Men the Guy Undertaken Leadership, where we strive to develop men and women mentally, physically, and spiritually to become, you know, kingdom, uh, kingdom leaders in their community. So that's one. And then we also got Bridging the Gap.

Yes, sir. Come join us, man. Send us some emails. We'll send y'all our uh our Google Meet link every Tuesday. Come on, hop on, hop on the call.
SPEAKER_00Yes, sir, yes, sir. We'll be in the community too. So yeah.
SPEAKER_02Near you soon.
SPEAKER_04So coming to a place near you soon. Yeah, man. We about to we gotta get an official like mogul gap collab, though. Oh, shirt. I know that is yeah, shirt, but I'm talking like you know me, bro. I be I'm such a I'm a visionary, bro. So I'll be I be really thinking big.
SPEAKER_02Man, you know, you know, we done with the collabs, man. You know, we had it, we had a fire one a few months ago. Yeah, oh the uh smokes, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Wait, what was it about to be? They say uh puff puff pray. Bro, I told the wife that, bro. I was like, man, they said it was about to be puff, puff, prank. But she was rolling, bro.
SPEAKER_02No, yeah, that was funny.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, nah, that was a good time, man. Yes, sir. Then we had the barbecue after that. Yeah, that was a good time. Barbecue, fool's bus.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, we didn't have some. Yeah, we didn't have some. Nice morning events, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Y'all wanna collab with Mo or uh or bridging the gap, man? Hit us up, slide in the slide in the comments. Appreciate y'all for liking the uh video too, man.
SPEAKER_04We got some views on that uh YouTube going up, man. Listen, I've been telling them all the time, we're gonna change the world. Man, we gotta change the world. We already are, yeah. We already are walking in our purpose. All right, well, shoot, man. Let's just let's uh move right in, man. We're gonna start off with prayer like we always do. Everybody bow your heads. Well, if you're driving, don't bow your head, keep your eyes on the roof. Please keep your eyes open. Please keep the eye open. But just tap in. Heavenly Father, let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in thy sight. Oh Lord, our strength and our redeemer. In Jesus' name. Amen.
SPEAKER_03Amen. Amen. Yes, sir. All right, man. Talk to us. Top into it, man. We got for today. Topic in the day.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I go there. I told you, bro. It's battle-tested, man. D ain't gonna charge me for putting the thing in this type of thing. Can't afford it, dude. Can't afford it.
SPEAKER_05But uh, let me see. Topic of the day. We're gonna afford it soon, bro. We're gonna afford it. We good for it.
SPEAKER_04You know what I'm saying? We had to, but like give us a little time. You know, put it on my tabs, man. A little payment plan. Yeah, right. But nah, the topic of the day, man. Topic of the week, whenever you listen to this, is stormy weather. Stormy whoever. Though the storms may come and blow, you know, we still we still here. I I heard it's a uh uh saying that they I heard. It was like, you done made it out the toughest storm in your life. If you still breathing, you know, it done been a point where you was like, man, this is the toughest season ever.
SPEAKER_02That's fine.
SPEAKER_04But you done been through it. You know, every time you done said it was the toughest, you done made it through. So it's just like, and I like to always think God won't put more on you than you could bear.
SPEAKER_02Man, come on now.
SPEAKER_04So, and I know sometimes that's sometimes people don't want to hear that when they go through it.
SPEAKER_02But you know sometimes it'd be honestly it'd be hard to hear sometimes when you're going through it. Yeah. You know, sometimes, you know, even though you got an umbrella in the rain, you still getting wet. So it's like, come on now. So it's tough. Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_04And I'ma um, I want us to go to the book of James.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Book of James. We're gonna go. Hey, side note, our brother James really is named Jacob. Yeah, oh. I did a study the other day. Yeah, I feel like I'm the author of the book of James. Yeah, all the James is in the Greek, they really Jacob. So in Hebrew, they Jacob.
SPEAKER_02I just heard that something.
SPEAKER_00And they pronounce Jacob in the Greek, but in English we call it a James. So if you do a word study on the name James, it's really gonna translate, go back to Jacob. So how you pronounce Jacob? You know, I mean, I ain't gonna be. I can't even pretend like I know how. You know, they got their Greek, however, you pronounce it in the Greek, you know, somebody way smarter than me that speaks Greek. We said Book of James, but we ain't gonna be. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04We're gonna go Book of James chapter one, and we're gonna read. I'm gonna I'm gonna read verse two through eight. Um I like this. And I'm I'm reading from the uh the New King, New King J New King James Version.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't know. We hear with you.
SPEAKER_04We're here with you. Okay, better. We hear with you. All right, James chapter one, verse two. My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect word, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. I'm gonna go ahead and finish that out. Yeah, I was gonna say I was looking. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord. He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. And we start off so it started off as counter all joy when you fall into various trials. All joy. Now we just spoke about sometimes people don't, they don't, they don't want to hear that. Like, how is this joyful that I, you know, I just got that eviction notice on my door? You know, how is it joyful that you know what I'm saying, the repo man creeping around the corner? How is it joy that I just got diagnosed with this? You know what I'm saying? Like, how can I count that joy? And you know, when you when you look at it, people, when bad things happen, it's like people loop, they they faith waver. I think the B die, you had mentioned um in your uh I think one of your intro video, you said like with Peter, it was like sometimes my faith, your faith wavers. So uh just kind of like like expand on that, like when you say Um Just being just being totally honest.
SPEAKER_02I mean, when I say waver, I don't mean like one minute. I'm like hallelujah in the next minute. I'm like, nah. I'm more so like help, help me. Like I need a Lord, give me a sign. Like right now, sometimes. And he don't always come right now. He don't always come when you want him, but he'll be there right on time. Like when you need him.
SPEAKER_04Hey, bro, we sink in, man. That's what's up, man.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, so and that's what I mean by waiver. And especially um Peter, you know, he he did a bunch of things, you know. He like, oh, you know, I would never doubt you. I would never doubt you. Doubted him. Boom. Three times. You know, I I stay up with you. I'm I'm your right-hand man. Fell asleep. Boom. Oh, let me let me come out there on the water. Well, oh, as soon as the wind started shaking, look left, look right. But, you know, he still had faith. He still kept believing. That's what I mean by like wavering in the faith, not like, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I got you, I got you. And I feel like, like I said earlier, like just because bad things happen, it don't mean that you know you just give up trying to live righteous. You know what I'm saying? And I know some people they just they be like, skip it, bruh. Like, I mean, we in Detroit, there's a lot of stuff be going on. So it's a lot of people that's operating out of like revenge and get back. So you know, somebody say that they face a trial and somebody come and they they robbed them or whatever. They got job, yeah. They got jumped. Yeah, now they now they heart is hard, you know what I'm saying? Or they going through, they got fired from their job from you know, whatever the case is. So it's just like when these things happen, I guess Josh, I asked you, like, why do you think people tend to take like, oh well, since it happened to me, now I'ma just go and get my lick back and do like this to other people, you know, be like this to other people. Like, why do you think that is?
SPEAKER_00I I don't think people know how to. I think we we we we products of our environment. And I think we don't have enough examples of of how to respond. You know what I mean? And I think that's why people go get their lick back, because that's what you're used to seeing. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, we men, we were raised by good men. Fathers, father figures, y'all, you know what I'm saying? Like, we've been raised by people that have been raised by good people, but everybody has not been blessed and fortunate to be raised by good people. And I think, you know, at the end of the day, even if your say your parents weren't the greatest, say you didn't have somebody in the community lifting you up, you know, you can learn a lot through Jesus. Yeah. You know what I mean? How to respond during those trials, during those temptations, during those moments that's uncomfortable. He tell you, you know, if your enemy uh despite you or do something against you, give him the other cheek. Damn. You know, that's which I'm still struggling with today. I barely wanted to give you the first one. That person. But he he teaches you how to respond. And I just think that, you know, even if we do have good role models and examples, we we don't know how to listen. Yeah. You know what I mean? We all know how to go get seek wisdom, seek counsel. You know what I mean? It's one thing to go ask somebody something, they give you the advice and you don't do it. Man. You know what I mean? So I think that's that's why people like you, and then you got, I mean, I'm gonna just be honest with you. Faith comes by here and hearing by the word. Man, you you listen to things, rap music. I ain't judging nobody listening to rap, but you got people in rap, you know what I'm saying? You got celebrities, you got people that's always in the news, doing certain things, they being your teacher. Yeah, you know what I mean? And now they encourage you to do things that are against what Jesus is. So, you know, that's what I'm gonna say this real quick. I love James and I love Jesus, because in both of these, if you in two, he said it counted all joy when you fall into various trials. Like they're coming for sure. Implying, like, bro, that's not an option. Yeah, like they coming, you know what I'm saying? You know what I mean? And then and Jesus said in uh Genesis of Genesis, John chapter 16, verse 33, in this world you will face tribulation. Yes, sir. You know what I'm saying? But be a good heart, be a good cheer, for I've overcome the world. So like he let you know, like, bro, it's gonna come. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? But be a good heart, be a good cheer, you know. Recognize that it's producing patience in you, and that's perfecting you. So, like, I think we just gotta look to him if we don't have no good role models or examples.
SPEAKER_04And I was trying to find it, it's say it's Matthew 5 and 45, but it's a uh it rains on the just and the unjust. So it's just like if you know that storms are gonna come regardless, then ultimately you know that you have a choice on how you're gonna react. Because if if if something is inevitable, like what they say, death and taxes. Like that's that's the that's those are inevitable. You know what I'm saying? So it's just a matter of like how you're gonna deal with it, you know what I'm saying? You're gonna sit here and be mad every time tax season comes around. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05You're about to open up the wounds, bro. Hey, brother, that yeah. No, I feel it though. I'm thinking about it right now, man.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. I was excited, bro, because I'm thinking about the uh the refund I'm probably about to get away. What the refund?
SPEAKER_00I was sick for about three weeks. But it did, it is in 45. You want me to read it real quick? Yeah, I'm gonna say go ahead. Uh that you may be sons of your father in heaven, for he makes his son rise on the evil and on the good, and sins rain on the just and the unjust.
SPEAKER_04Sins rain on the just and the unjust. So it's just like the storms ain't biased bro. Right. It's gonna come. Right. So it's like, how you gonna, you know what I'm saying? How you gonna navigate your your your sail, you know what I'm saying, as you should going through this, uh, these things. So we about halfway through. Um, I want to open it up to the reflection question, which is what are some big storms that y'all have had personally in y'all's life, and how did y'all manage it?
SPEAKER_00Wanna keep the rotation going or you gonna go? Man, I'm gonna let you start a dive.
SPEAKER_02Man, some storms, man. I gotta, I done been through a lot of storms. Um and most recently, what, 20 2025 was probably like the the biggest storm. It was a tsunami, hurricane status. Uh even 24. It can, it actually probably started in like 23. Uh quick little, I try and be quick, but started in like 23. Um, I randomly, I was working one day. My my right eye just kind of was a little blurry. I go to this around Thanksgiving. Um, we go back home, go to the doctor. We go to, I'm like, all right, I just need some new glasses, man. My glasses, you know, tripping. Bro, I was getting an eye exam. The the doctor in there, the optometrist, he was like, like, look me dead in my eyes, like, go to the ER. Like, run to the ER. I'm like, heart drop, but fast forward through all the tests, I ended up having to go to the specialist, end up having a uveitis in my eye where it's super blurry. I don't want to get into all the details. So that's 23 into 24. Um, end up, so my mother-in-law ended up getting diagnosed with breast cancer in 24, ended up beating it. Thank God. Um 25 was just, I'm talking about from beginning to end. I ended up losing a job, like out of nowhere. Um after COVID, you know, I was in sales, so it was booming during COVID. And then, you know, coming around, I was low man on the totem pole. You know, losing my job like started a year. Um, something happened with Pops. It was just uh a super blow. Um me and a wife, we went through IVF and it was it was sunshine and rainbows, and then our our transfer didn't take. And that one was like I think that one and like like I can I can handle everything that happened to me, but when it's like when it's my loved ones, when it's the wife, when it's my my mom's, my pops, my mom was diagnosed with uh cancer and you know, beat it. So it was just the magnitude of like though those past like two and a half years was just it was rough. And I would say what what got me through it was God. Um literally. Even on the days when when I felt I was at my darkest and I didn't want to do nothing, uh I prayed. I I stayed consistent in the Bible app. Um my brother prayed so much, he got the usual man.
SPEAKER_00And he got the remix. The remix of the usual for real.
SPEAKER_05And the lease.
SPEAKER_02Man, the lease. Even like stuff that that I I'm praying for stuff in in the future that, you know, you know, he says ass, knock and seek. So I'm gonna ask, I'm a knock, and I'm a seek all day long. But that's really what got me through it. Um I learned to praise in the pit more than um on the podium, for real. Like, when I was in at my lowest, that's really what got me through. Um is is praising in the pit. And it kind of reminded me, I I'm gonna butcher the scripture, but um, I remember it was uh Paul and Silas was um they was praising God in the midnight hour. And then the shackles came off, yeah. They say they saved girls. And and that's what what it kind of reminded me of, just like at my lowest, even when I didn't want to. And I was I I had some prayers where I'm like, man, come out, Father. Like, I don't even want to talk to you right now. But I'm talking to you. I'm I'm I'm giving it all to you. Um, I got some hurt in my heart. Please remove it. And I had to just, you know, surrender for real.
SPEAKER_04That takes some real like real strength to do that, bro. Because it's like you say, it's easier to give up and curl up than to fight back. Or what they say, easier to go with the current than against the current. So um, that's what's up. All right, we got a few minutes. Josh.
SPEAKER_00I ain't even gonna give no story, bro. I'm gonna give some scriptures, bro, and just um edify. You know what I mean? Like, I because bro, we all go through trials. And and and one thing I will say is some people think that when you start walking with Jesus, following Jesus, that the trials can go away. Yeah. And it's and it's and it's really actually the opposite. Like they're intensifying, yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like it's the opposite. But like, bro, that's the glory in it, bro. Like, I look at every trial as an opportunity to empathize with Jesus. Counted on the earth. You know what I'm saying? He he he faced the biggest trial. You know what I'm saying? Taking on our sins, and and and we were wrong. You know what I mean? So, like when I go through trials, bro, I try to look at it from a from a Jesus Christ-like perspective. Um, you know, he's saying Romans 8, verse 28, Paul says all things work together for good to those who uh love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose. So I look at it like even if it's not good right now, it's working out for good. And if it ain't good, then it ain't God. You know what I mean? Eventually it's gonna turn good. Say that one more time. If it ain't good, then it ain't God. Like it ain't done, yes. Like it's all he said. All things work together for good. So eventually your story is gonna turn good. Um, you know, I'm looking at another scripture right now in uh Psalms 126, verse 5. Those who sow interiors shall reap enjoy. You know what I mean? Like, bro, it's going to turn around. No temptations overtake you except such is common to man, but God is faithful. He will not allow you to tempted beyond what you're able, but with the temptation would make the way of escape so that you can endure it. You know what I mean? Like, bro, one more scripture, but listen, the glory and I's suffering, for suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, character, confidence, hope, and salvation. So, like, you know, I I just think of trials and tribulations as as blessings, bro, as opportunities for God's glory. You know what I'm saying? So I'm gonna just echo what Doc said though, bro. Like, we all go through our trials and tribulations. My hardest ones, though, is not my own. It's not my family, but my beloved ones, my wife, my mom, she been going through surgeries, like 29 plus surgeries, bro, a lot on her back. You know, my wife was just having a kid last year, bro, seeing her battle through that, bro. And it's like that's that's the one that hurt, bro, when when the person closest to me, like Deal with me. Yeah. But when you're only all suffering and I can't do nothing about it, that's what really break me down to my lowest, bro. But God said, When you are weak, then I am strong. Or my grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in your weakness. So it's just an opportunity, bro.
SPEAKER_04There's so many scriptures, bro. Man, so many. Like, and if you could just, what we say, bro, always go to the word. Like, even when you don't know, just like, bro, just Google search it. Chat GPT is like, hey, I'm feeling this way. Like, what's script? Like, what scriptures? And I'm telling you, bro, it's so many different things.
SPEAKER_02Like, just just Yeah, I got I got scriptures on my um, I did a chat GBT. I wish I could see man, you can show it. But I'm gonna fight. Yeah, I put uh I put them on my background. Like I'm fire. Um, but one of my one that I um that I love that helped me through the storm is Exodus 14, 14. The Lord will fight for you.
SPEAKER_00Stand still.
SPEAKER_02Man.
SPEAKER_00Stand still, stand still, the Lord will fight for you. Man, it's crazy, and it's crazy because sometimes you be trying to work your way out of it.
SPEAKER_03And that's the that'd be the problem. Sometimes you're like, You start trying to like do too much when you're gonna do it.
SPEAKER_00You're doing too much, you're doing too much. And your parents would tell them, sit down, you're doing too much. I'd be like, what you mean? But like, no, sometimes you gotta do less.
SPEAKER_04Your lessons is more, man. And it'd be it's hard for people like for me who be like, I done trailblazed away my whole time. Like, I done figured this out. No, no, no. Obviously, you know, humble myself before God, but it's just like I've been on this road by myself this whole time, feel like, so you know, I'm gonna figure it out. I'll be good, you know what I'm saying? Like, I'm good, I I got it. But I just had a hard head. Yeah, yeah. Man, trust me, bro. I done had plenty of those talking. But uh, you know, you got time, AJ, going? You got time, yeah. You got time, right? My story, real quick. Yes, my storm. Um, man, it's crazy, bro. The Holy Spirit literally downloaded when you had said um the moment you come to know Jesus, that's when like all the trials and stuff start. And the Holy Spirit downloaded on me almost like if you think about like a woman going through pregnancy, right? When you planting the seed, it's all good. You know what I'm saying? It's a great time. You know what I'm saying? You planting the seed, so your baby making time. When you plant the seed, that's a great time, right? But as you start to progress in that journey, and well, I mean, I could really not me as a man, but you know, the woman, as a woman starts to progress through that journey, she gets closer and closer, and then you start feeling a little bit more pains, contractions, and all that stuff. And then until it's time to actually, you know, be born, man, this is all coming to me. Because it's now it's like when you make that connection, you're you're you're literally when you come to know Jesus, it's like you're literally going through a transformation season. Like you're developing and you're being reborn, you're being born again in Christ. That's a good revelation. It just can't, like, it's that's what I'm saying. It's painful, like, not just for the mom, but for the baby too. You know what I'm saying? The baby, it was comfortable. Like, I was in here chilling. It's cold out, yeah, it's bright and you like that. So that I just wanted to say that real quick. Fire revelation. But just the um for my storm, bro, and I'ma just go real quick to back in fall of 2019 when I had um decided to, you know, move down to Atlanta, Georgia from Detroit. I've been in Michigan my whole life, took a leap of faith, went down to Atlanta. Um, my vision was to, you know, become a part of the you know, black Hollywood, as they called it. And just be in that space. And and it was cool, but I also was able to see it's just like for every high, there's a low. And I feel like I was there. I ended up getting kicked out of my first my first place that I when I got down here, I ended up getting kicked out of there because the job that I was supposed to have ended up falling through. So it was just like this whole uh situation with that had to bounce around. Um and then there was a point in time where I was basically homeless, bro. Like I was basically and I ain't had no job. All I had was a truck. I had a I had a F-154 pickup, no job. So the only thing I do, I'm from the city of Hustlers, you know what I'm saying? So I still was, you know, picking up, you know what I'm saying, trying to move, you know, move people furniture, you know. I was even door dashing with my pickup truck, you know what I'm saying? But I was only making of to, you know, put fuel back in my tank and and get a um get an Airbnb for the night. You know what I'm saying? And like that was like a I was living day to day, you know what I'm saying, put food in my stomach. I was living day to day. It was like that for like a month. And then it wasn't until I like started to understand like, you know, what was going on and what I was going through. And I remember it was one point in time, so I, you know, got my tax refund. It was a little small refund. I got a little tax refund. And um, I took that money. And I and I bought a uh, you know, I paid for a rental, like not like a like a roommate, you know what I'm saying? I had a roommate pay for a room. You know what I'm saying? I did that, and then I found me a little job at like Target, you know what I'm saying? So now I'm starting to get some kind of like, you know, it was right right down the street. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Man, one night, bro, I'm walking out to Target, bruh, I see the repo man pulling off of my truck, bro. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm trying to figure out all these different things. And I feel like I told the story before, but I remember, bruh, at that time, I was like, bruh, I just got, you know, roof over my head. And I just got this job. Now here come, now now my wheel's gone. And as I'm walking out the target, bruh, literally, I'm like feeling bad. I'm trying to like low-key try to chase them down, like, hey, give me a, you know what I'm saying? But now I was like, you know what, bruh? I look down at my hands, I got bags of groceries in my hands. I'm looking down, I still can walk. I got my feet, I'm like, bruh, my crib two miles away, bro. Let me just I could just walk home, bro. Sure. Enjoy these groceries and thank God for another day. You know, the perspective, bro. So when you said like praising them in that when you in that, bruh, praising him during the storm, bro, that it'd change.
