So I was like, what about the sound system and everything? He's like, oh, we got like a a JBL speaker.

SPEAKER_09Well, people don't know how to fucking drive. This morning, uh we're going into the Duncan uh drive-thru. And Queen Street, of course. Uh I came in from the left side of the Duncan, and I have to turn left again into the drive-thru. So I'm in the parking lot.

SPEAKER_09Yep. So I came in from the left side, the other street, not from Queen Street. Yeah, yeah. So I'm coming through turning left into the drive-thru, and some fat gay dude. Yep. I called them that. Oh, I knew he was gay. You can definitely tell. And I fucking he turned out in front of me and I bleat my fucking horn because he almost fucking he kept going like he came from the Queen Street side and went blew right in. As you're turning. No pun intended. Yeah. And fucking, as I'm turning, and I almost fucking smacked into him because he fucking fucking beat the horn out of him.

And uh almost like dinner, yo. She brought me some some little things I was eating in the car, and uh, as she was driving, some idiot cut right in front of her and she like blared the horn.

SPEAKER_09If he lunges at you, you're within proximity. So like why would you do that? Again, it's the same thought process of why are you in front of a car, knowing that one, you can't stop a car, and two, policy dictates that you can't stand in front of a car.

We're told the man survived and is in surgery when this is the second police shooting in the Capitol City in two weeks after a man was killed on Capitol Avenue on the 19th. SPEAKER_17When first approaching the scene, Magnano is asked by a fellow officer movies, which he says no. Drop the knife! No, drop the knife. MacNamara says that will be a part of the IG's investigation.
SPEAKER_01I think it's pretty uncommon for a police officer not to have a taser on them. That's not true. But again, there are divisions and units and other officers that may or may not have a taser on them. It is important to note that a taser was ineffective at the beginning of this incident. The Hartford Police Department has confirmed.
SPEAKER_17Not everybody carries tasers on administrative leave after the shooting. McNamara highlights how quickly these situations happen for officers. The investigation will also review items such as on administrative leave after the shooting.

SPEAKER_24Well, the scene has been active here on Capitol Avenue all day. The state police major crimes unit is a very good thing. And officers have been working it for the entire day. Now at this point, we do not know the name of the person who was killed, and we do not know the name of the officer involved. Police have offered up very few details. Now, the inspectors general's office is taking over the investigation.

SPEAKER_24It was so scary. We spoke to a woman who lives on the same floor of the Capitol Avenue apartment building where police say they shot and killed a person who showed a knife. Neighbors say it happened near the hall elevating video.
