Igniting The Gospel
Join Pastor Damon Snead from Conroe Seventh Day Adventist Church as he ignites the power of the Gospel within you as we explore the hidden truths in the Bible.
We will start by looking at something that many Christians today don't think about: the sanctuary in the Old Testament. This ancient structure and the ceremonies associated with it have significance to every Christian today and their walk with Jesus. Come find out why God spent so many words describing the sanctuary and how it applies to your life today.
Learn about how every word in the Bible points to Jesus and how he can be seen in many people/objects and circumstances (types) in the Old Testament and how these point forward to present truth (anti-type).
Join us on our journey through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation as we Ignite the Power of the Gospel and bring you closer to Jesus!

In this episode we unpack the second piece of furniture in the sanctuary: the laver.
We look at the purpose of water in the bible as both a ritualistic component as well as a cleansing agent.
We discuss the idea that the altar gives believers title to heaven, as Jesus was the sacrifice that will ultimately eradicate sin. The laver is the item that helps believers be ready to be people of heaven.
Psalm 22:16
The laver was a receptacle for water only - not for washing like the Mikvah. Water was a means to cleanse from sin.
Exodus: 30:18-21
1 Corinthians 6:11
Water and cleansing are forms of sanctification: change of the heart, character and spirit so a believer lives a life based on faith. This sets believers apart from the rest of the world. The law (10 commandments) is the standard for sanctification. Helps us come into obedience as faith and forgiveness never lead to disobedience.
Romans 3:19-21
We are justified by faith in Christ. He takes our sin and the law shows us what sin is. The laver is to wash us - showing us what we are being washed from (sin).
The laver is made up of the mirrors of the women of the camp - which is a picture of the law: obedience and transformation.
James 1:23-25
2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Exodus 38:8
The laver water is a picture of living water - life. Someone can be cleansed and enter into the Kingdom of Heaven - get sin out of their life - and become spiritually clean.
1 Corinthians 10:4
John 3:5
Water is also a picture of the Holy Spirit, like water it is fluid, and people allow Him into their life. The Holy Spirit begins the process of regeneration and cleansing of the spirit. Like a dynamic stream, He flows through them like water. This is the basis of the gospel.
The laver was a picture of baptism: new birth, new life. Dying to self with our sinful self and coming out of the water into a new life in Christ. A picture of God wanting to cleanse us, not just save us at the cross of Calvary. Wash us and make us clean and pure of spirit, mind and body.
Romans 8:7-9
Ephesians 5:26
Titus 3:3-5
John 19:33-34
Romans 6
