Igniting The Gospel
Join Pastor Damon Snead from Conroe Seventh Day Adventist Church as he ignites the power of the Gospel within you as we explore the hidden truths in the Bible.
We will start by looking at something that many Christians today don't think about: the sanctuary in the Old Testament. This ancient structure and the ceremonies associated with it have significance to every Christian today and their walk with Jesus. Come find out why God spent so many words describing the sanctuary and how it applies to your life today.
Learn about how every word in the Bible points to Jesus and how he can be seen in many people/objects and circumstances (types) in the Old Testament and how these point forward to present truth (anti-type).
Join us on our journey through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation as we Ignite the Power of the Gospel and bring you closer to Jesus!

Burnt Offerings Part 1
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode we discuss the ceremonies that took place at first piece of furniture in the courtyard of the sanctuary: the altar of burnt offering.
We look at the different types of offerings that were made, their significance then and now and how they all pointed forward to Jesus and the ultimate offering made to atone for our sins.
The Burnt Offering
We start with the whole burnt offering, which was made daily in the morning and evening, as a way of demonstrating giving your whole life to God.
There was a stationary man in the sanctuary who represented all of Israel on behalf of the people. He was a stand-in for the people and he brought the sacrifice. The whole body of the animal was burnt.
Leviticus 1:1-9
Leviticus 2:1-16
The Bible says that the aroma of the sacrifice had a sweet smell to God. Doing the sacrifice in the morning and evening demonstrated the people’s need for continual dependence upon Christ. Giving one’s life to God. It represented his people acknowledging their dependence upon him for everything.
Ephesians 5:2
Life in ancient Israel was dependent upon the offering, as a means of committing your life to God. We present ourselves as a living sacrifice to God as a way of dedicating ourselves to God and Jesus.
Romans 12:1
We looked at how the animal was sacrificed.
Matthew 26:
1 Peter 1:
Mark 12:33
We then looked at the idea of salt being used to cure meat as a picture of perpetuity, the perpetual giving to Christ.
Mark 9:49-50
The Grain Offering
We look at the grain offering (flour) as a picture of our works as a representation of our love for Christ. The grain offering was a gift to God, given in response for what He had done for the people. Just like what you do in the name of Christ to help others, to help your church is because you love Him. Because you honor what He did for you.
James 2:20
The Drink Offering
The drink offering was unfermented wine (grape juice). It represented a way for the believer to pour him/herself into God. It was a picture of consecration of Israel to God and signifying Jesus pouring himself all out for us.
Genesis 49:11
We ended the show talking about how the burnt offering, the grain offering and the drink offering go together as a precursor to the next three offerings: the sin offering, the trespass offering and the peace offering.
