What if confidence isn’t something you’re born with… but something you build through action?
In this powerful conversation inside a coaching community, I sit down with Kelly to talk about confidence, worthiness, and why your voice truly matters.

Inside this episode, we talk about:
✨ How confidence is built through messy action (not perfection)
✨ Releasing shame, guilt, and old stories that block your abundance

We also talk about:
- Podcasting, visibility, and putting yourself out there

Today is the second week of the Invest in Your Dreams group coaching program. And I have Linda Brand here today to talk about naming your strengths. Because Linda, whenever I think about the confidence that we all need to show up as we fully are, I think back to your idea that we are all worthy and abundant. So thank you for being here, first of all. And I hope that our conversation today is helpful to people. When I think about you, I think about when we first met and the confidence that you showed up in that room with. And one of the first things you did was like just so boldly put out the here's something that I could do for all of you. Here's a way you could help me. And I think that comes from confidence, right? I think a lot of us walk around and we think that if we are too confident, we're arrogant. Versus showing up is 100% worthy, 100% valuable, and the energy that goes out that way. So could you tell me a little bit of how did you find your way to this confidence of knowing that you are worthy and abundant and valuable?
SPEAKER_01Thank you for having me, first of all. And I just love you, Kelly.
SPEAKER_00I just love you too. You helped me a lot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, honestly, confidence came from actions and to be truthful. I think just surviving through so many things in my life that it's like nothing can, you know, there's nothing to be afraid of. I mean, it's like everything's happened that could possibly happen. Um, but ultimately, I think confidence truly comes from taking messy action and doing things, doing the thing and starting the podcast. And um I think we're all worthy. We I know we're all worthy just for breathing. And uh it's something to know, but until you actually believe it and know that I'm here, I'm a child of God and I am worthy just for breathing. And if none of us ever did another thing and never lifted another finger, we're still worthy. And the thing is, um, the thing is that it's not we can know that we're worthy, but if we are carrying shame or we're carrying some guilt or something from the past, like in your identifying with that, that's where you lose, where you feel like you're not worthy. Because I was there too, where it's like, yeah, I'm open to receive, I'm open and worthy to receive. I would say this, but yet what was I? I was blocking my own abundance with old stories and you know, beliefs that you know, we're identifying with something, a mistake we made in the past or something. And that's what holds you back from feeling worthy, but we are all worthy. And God, you know, you're not your mistakes, you're not your past, you're not your failures, right? And we're just humans, we're all just human trying to do the best we can every day, right?
SPEAKER_00Well, I think that energy is how you got to where you are. So, first I want to celebrate you top two and a half percent podcast globally. I remember talking to you on a Zoom call when we discovered you were at five percent. So the the exponential growth since then. Um, how did you not give up podcasting? Because it's hard to not always know if it's reaching anybody, and yet you've had the most amazing conversations, even today, an incredible conversation before we got on. So you made a decision to share from your heart the things that were important to you to connect with people in a real way. And now you're again two and a half percent top global podcast. How did you not give up?
SPEAKER_01That's so amazing. Thank you. You are the reason. You were the person who told me I was the top five percent. I literally did not know. So notice I wasn't paying attention, and there it was. And how did I not give up? You know, I took breaks now and then, and what's wild, super wild, is when I took a break, it shot up to two and a half percent. And that is where the do less and receive more is true, the energy is true. We have to listen to that. But I enjoyed it because I fell into real estate, a career that's very challenging, even if you're passionate about it. But I wasn't super passionate about it, and I fell into that career and I had it for 30 years, and so I moved across the country four years ago and started a new life and started a coaching business, and then I started the podcast, and the podcast was easy for me. I felt like I can do this. I'm a curious person, I ask questions, so it's easy, it's fun. So here I am having fun and showing up. And you know what? Sometimes I would have imposter syndrome and say, you know, who am I to do this? And then I would use EFT tapping or something else to move through that. But now it's it's like very, it's very natural, and I'm just enjoying it. And um, if one person's life changes from hearing my episode, that's enough to keep going. And that's what I love about like you would send me a message. Oh, I heard your podcast, it was so good. And that's all we need. Like, it's not a million dollars that we want, it's somebody texting you saying, I loved your podcast, right?
SPEAKER_00Yep. My um middle daughter right now, I have three adult daughters, and my middle daughter's in sales, and she's at a conference. And a different friend of mine who I haven't met, I haven't met you in real life. I feel like we've known each other forever, but we still haven't connected in real life. So, this is another friend that I haven't met in real life. And she was putting on LinkedIn, hey, I'm at this conference. And I said, My daughter's at that conference, you should go connect. And so they did. And she said to my daughter, Your mom changed my life. Using the Ennegram to help her understand herself, gave her, you know, this ability to name her strengths. And that's what this week is about. Can we name our strengths? So without any shame, right? Let's pull the shame off. One of the things I love to do is collaborate with people. I want to be somebody who's cheering other people on. I want to be generous. What are some of the strengths that you have that you can show up with confidence and be like, you know what, this is me? And I love knowing that.
SPEAKER_01I think that I am a curious person, and that's one of my strengths because curiosity, it's it's everything. Like I'm asking questions, I love asking questions, I love learning about people. I'm also authentic, and that's a strength. I am I show up authentic and I try to show up as you know, real and honest and meaningful, and consistency is another one. Like I wasn't always consistent. Um, that's something that I learned. Uh, I had a guest, I learned so from so many people on the podcast. I literally feel that my podcast is a vessel for good. And it's a vessel to bring good to the world, it's a vessel for healing for myself. But I had someone on, and uh, her husband's a very famous coach. Dan Martelli's an author and a coach, and her name's Renee Warren, and she said, consistency is what did she say is key or consistency is currency. Currency. Because she's like, if you want to lose weight, you have to be consistent. If you want to make more money, you have to be consistent. So consistency is currency. And um with the podcast, I was consistent for over two years. I was consistent. Every Monday there was a new episode, and then you know, I got a little tired and I took a little break and then it shot up more, and then I just am more flexible with it because I'm like, I don't have to do this every Monday, right?
SPEAKER_00It could be something different, and so yeah, and people I think that's amazing. And then another thing I've watched you do is you have been very brave and reached out to people you wanted to have a conversation with. And I know for a lot of women that's a very hard thing to do because we've been taught to like make yourself small and don't be too much. And that and yet you say those conversations have been so life-changing. So, where does the confidence or the consistency come from to reach out to people and say, hey, I'd love to have you on my podcast? Because I think some of the people that I work with, they want a podcast. And without that confidence, they might miss out on those conversations that could move them forward. So, how did you get brave enough to do that first big ask?
SPEAKER_01I think having been being having been in a rejection business for 30 years, where I had to say, Oh, do you know anyone who wants to buy or sell a house? Or and I was constantly being, you know, it was it's nothing for me to ask you to be on a podcast. For for for me, you would who wouldn't want to be on a podcast? Like you're just sharing with a new audience. Like, of course you're gonna want to be on the podcast. And if they don't want to, like, okay. But um I just honestly, I had no issue asking, and I rarely get a no. And I think that I really think that our voices matter, and we tend to compare ourselves to people that are far ahead or on bigger platforms. But the truth is that your message doesn't need to reach millions of people, it just needs to reach one person, and if it resonates with one person, that's all that matters. You know, your voice is is here to we have stories to share. We have, you know, like in Judaism, I apologize for that. Um in Judy in Judaism, like to come to kun alam is we're here to to heal the world, like we're here to um help and to um make a difference, you know what I mean? Like, and that's what the podcast does. It's free, right? People can listen to podcasts that have no money and they can change their freaking lives. You just told us a story about someone that you helped as a coach, and what a beautiful gift.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, that's amazing.
SPEAKER_00And I feel the same way. So, one of the things that I have been focused on from the very beginning, you know, I was a pastor who got my first life coach. And as soon as I met her, I said, this is what I want to do with the rest of my life. And I think coaching for me comes down to three things. It's your thoughts are creating the feelings and actions of your life. When your energy is aligned, you're able to do the work that is yours to do. And through self-awareness, I believe we can say the yeses and no's that are ours to say. Without self-awareness, I'm constantly wondering, well, why did I say that or do that? But now that I know, hey, you're an Enneagram too, you're a manifesting generator, you're gonna most likely do these things if you don't pay attention, or you could pay attention and check in with yourself. Is that a yes or is that a no? And my life has changed since I've learned how to do these things. You notice that you did something hard on repeat for so long that other things became easy. You went out and tried to sell homes. And so then when it was just this beautiful ask that we get to do when we're unlocking our voice, right? Sharing through a podcast or a blog is unlocking your voice. What a beautiful ask to say to somebody. Would you like to share your story? Yet it felt really hard without some thoughts like that. When I met you, you said, you know what, you're gonna be like this person, and I'm gonna be like this person. We're not going to be them. But we can use them as an inspiration. And so your podcast is that. So, for um, one final thing about naming our strengths. One of the things you posted this week on Facebook or Instagram, it was like, I've fallen down more times. That's where this success came from. What practices do you have in place that help you stay in aligned energy to keep doing your important work? Because life does happen and things do happen that make us feel like we've fallen down. And what we want to do is get back up again. But is it prayer? Is it your faith? Like, what helps you get back up again when things are harder?
SPEAKER_01Definitely prayer and my faith that has, you know, strengthened over time, and knowing that uh God makes no junk, and that you know, I study Kabbalah as well. And um we have to be more like the creator, we have to be more like the son that's always giving, that's sharing, right? Because that's when what we put out, we receive back. It's the universal law. What you give, you get back, and it's also intentions, right? Behind it. Um, I'm here to enjoy this life. I have I'm turning 58 years old, not in two weeks or whatever it is, three. And I'm tired of living on other society's terms and the programs and the beliefs. I'm creating my own beliefs, and my belief now is that I get to have fun and make money. I get to do what I want and serve and give and make an impact. And I'm seeing and witnessing many others doing it, which means I can do it too. And nobody's better than you. I'll never forget Brian Tracy, who I would listen to for 20 years in the car as a realtor, he would say, Nobody's better than you. And it's true, and nobody's less than you, right? We're all in this together, and it's just um I'm trying to think of what else I do. I do affirmations, I do all kinds of things to support myself. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So what are some of them? Do you have affirmations, the EFT tapping?
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, I haven't done tapping in a long time, but I I had uh I have affirmations that I post. Um, and one I use some Wayne Dyer affirmations that I say every single morning. Yeah. You want to hear them? Well, I also yeah, I'd love to hear them. Go ahead. Okay. So um I am enough. I choose love over fear in every situation today. I am grateful for this day and all its possibilities. Everything I need is already within me. I'm here to share my gifts with the world. Um, I attract what I am, not what I want. And what's the last one? Um I have them memorized. Um, it's not coming to me.
SPEAKER_00That's okay. It doesn't not a problem at all. I think it's beautiful that those are memorized, and you know it'll come back later. But to end our time together, um, when people forget that their voice matters and their throat chakra isn't working anymore because they've suppressed this beautiful part of them, right? I think back to the book of Genesis and it says that God said, Let us make humans men and women in our image, right? We are all these like image bearers, these reflectors of the sun, right? And so your voice truly matters. That's something important for me to proclaim. And I love that I was able to do that with my three daughters and they go out and share it in the world. What advice would you have for somebody who's just beginning a podcast and you know, they just get tired? It's like editing and writing the certain, you know, the notes up, and it gets to be too much, and all of a sudden they're behind. They got sick for a couple days, and then they think, you know what, no one's listening to this anyway. What would you say to them to remind them their voice matters? Um, sharing what, even if you do like I love that you said take the breaks you need, maybe go down to once a month, but don't give up. Find a way to keep going. What would you say to them to remind them that their voice matters? Was there anything that you heard yourself? I love listening to myself on my podcast. Like I'll record it and then three months later listening to one again and think, oh, I forgot that, or I can't believe I said that. I don't remember saying it. So I even learned for myself. I love podcasts, I listen to them almost all day long. But what would you say to that woman that's just beginning to start her podcast and she's wondering if her voice matters? Is there any advice you would give yourself five years ago before you began this that your voice mattered?
SPEAKER_01I would just say your voice matters because your experiences are unique and no one else has lived your life or learned the lessons you've learned. And that, you know, when you share your voice, you're giving other people permission to do so as well. And that, you know, um, nobody we're not here to be perfect. And that's part of this, you know. These people that, you know, it's a lot of work and this editing and all these things. It doesn't have to be. I think that you're trying to make it so perfect, and nobody cares about perfection, no one's perfect. You authenticity is the number one thing. Um, consistency beats talent every time. And you know, showing up and I mean, how many times when someone shows up and has no makeup on and they're just like seeing, you know, their thing that you're like, yeah, that's that's you know, and so I think it's just I would say listen to if maybe it's not for you, maybe podcasting isn't your thing. Like, I wouldn't force it, but right if it if you're enjoying it and then you just feel like, mm-hmm, I don't know, like don't give up, just take breaks, like you said, Kelly, and you know, keep going. Maybe you want to change the name of your podcast, maybe you want to change your the way you're doing things. Like I've pivoted many times. It used to be called Empowered the Podcast, and then it was abandoned to Abundant for a very short time. And I then I got the download for Worthy and Abundant. It's been Worthy and Abundant for a while, and um, you know, I've had so many different guests, and I do solos, and it's just it's powerful and it's fun and it's not free to us. We're putting in time and energy and all that, but it's um it's just a beautiful way to share your gifts with the world, share your voice with the world. If one person, if it changes one person's life, then you know, because we're all one. Like that's that's all we want to do.
SPEAKER_00I agree. Well, thank you so much.
