Rewind to 1984
It is the 40-year anniversary of my favorite year for music, movies, and entertainment 1984. I'll take a weekly look at what the charts looked back at this week in 1984 and discuss them.
Rewind to 1984
Episode 40 - First Week of October, 1984
This week on Rewind to 1984, we’re diving into the Billboard charts for 2024, where—unfortunately—there's not much movement in the Top 10. Will Shaboozey's "Tipsy" stay perched at #1 for an 12th straight week, or will one of Sabrina Carpenter's three chart-toppers finally break through? Could Post Malone reclaim the top spot? One thing’s for sure—I'm hoping for a shakeup. Sorry Shaboozey, but 12 weeks at #1 is crazy!
Back in 1984, the competition was just as fierce. Does Prince make a royal claim for the #1 spot again with "Let's Go Crazy" or does Stevie Wonder see his way to #1.
Artist Spotlight: Chicago
Moving to the movie scene in 2024, canWild Robot stay the top of the box office or does the Joker sequel laugh its way all the way to the top?
And of course, we’ll rewind back to 1984, where Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin’s All of Me is trying to fend off "Teachers" from Nick Nolte. Wow Teachers had it hard in 1984, and even worse with social media in 2024.
Tune in for a fun ride through the charts—then and now—only on Rewind to 1984!
