Anointed But Overlooked | The Life Of David | Jason Kimbrow

In today’s sermon, Pastor Jason Kimbrow teaches a message called "Anointed But Overlooked." This is the first message in a series titled "The Life Of David."  

David’s life is anything but ordinary. He was the last choice in the lineup, yet God’s first choice to lead a nation. A shepherd boy with a slingshot who faced giants, and a king who fell into scandal. A musician whose hands played the harp—and also wielded the sword. David was a paradox: tender and tough, loyal and flawed, passionate and withdrawn. He was a worshipper and a warrior, a servant and at times a fugitive. Scripture says in 1 Samuel 16:18 that David was both “a brave man and a warrior” and “a fine musician.” His life was a tension of strength and sensitivity.

In David, we see the best and worst of what it means to be human. His story mirrors our own—full of highs and lows, faith and failure, courage and compromise. And yet, through it all, he was called a man after God’s own heart. As we explore the life of David, we don’t just learn about him—we learn about ourselves.
