SPEAKER_01Have you ever wondered what is Jesus doing right now in heaven as he is with his Father? And that is great news because the work that Jesus has done for us here upon the earth is not finished yet. He is still working on your behalf and also at work in your life and my life. And so the question is, what is Jesus doing right now? And I believe that Jesus is bigger and better and more powerful for you right now, today, in whatever challenge or circumstance you might be facing, because Jesus is laboring for you in heaven in this very moment. He's residing in the most prominent position of influence and authority in all of the universe, actively ministering to and engaging with all of creation. And how do we know that? The Bible tells us in Hebrews chapter 8, verses 1 to 2, we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the majesty in heaven, a minister in holy places. So right now today we can live with the absolute assurance that Jesus is more powerful than anything we may encounter in this world. And from his vantage point he sees all, he knows all, and maneuvers all things in accordance with the will of the Father next to whom he sits. He's not unaware of any of your problems or circumstances that you might be facing. His influence from heaven is stronger than the stresses and the struggles and the sins and the guilts and the anxieties and the enemies and the fears and even the feeling of guilt and shame that hold unto us here upon the earth. At times it may seem that the kingdom of this world reigns as the ruler when things is not going according to plan. But it's our true and better King Jesus who declares in Acts chapter 7, verse 49, that heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool. Secondly, it's Jesus who is sitting at the right hand of the Father, who indeed is interceding for you and for I. Romans chapter 8, he always loves to make intercession for us in Hebrews chapter 7, verse 25. Jesus is appearing in the third place in the presence of God on your behalf and represent us. Hebrews chapter 9, verse 24. In the fourth place, we have an advocate in the presence of God. First John chapter 2 verses 1. And when we send, he advocates on our behalf and pleads our case before the Father, as he points to his work, which is finished on the cross as the basis to amend for us before the Father. Number five is the mediator, who stands between men and God and bring man and God together, and he continues that job as he mediates for us in heaven at this very moment. Hebrews chapter 8, verses 6, and chapter 12, verses 24. In your weakness today before God, Jesus is strong for you. In our failures before God today, Jesus answers for you. In our confusion and need before God today, Jesus makes requests for you and provides for you. He will take away all your anxieties and your fears and doubts and troubles to the heart of the Father, where they are boldly embraced in the mercy and the grace which is available through the cross that Jesus died for you and for I. And then lastly, Jesus is preparing a place for us. John chapter 14 is eagerly anticipating your arrival into glory and is actively making arrangements for all of us. Our hope in heaven is the greatest source of strength in this day, because this world is not our home. Jesus will come again and take us to our dwelling place to be with him. And so in the midst of all this confusion and darkness and brokenness, Paul tells us in Philippians chapter 3, verse 20 that our citizenship is elsewhere, it is in heaven. We may carry a passport for South Africa or for America, but actually our citizenship is in heaven. Jesus has prepared a better and more glorious place for us. He has done everything that was necessary to secure a welcome and a permanent place in the very presence of God. What a great comfort to know that Jesus is not finished yet, or forgotten us, or left us as orphans, but is ruling in power and still very active on your behalf and my behalf. And so the question today is do you experience the power and the presence and the activity of Jesus Christ through his Holy Spirit in your life today? And are you ready and eagerly awaiting and expecting his return to be with him forever and forever? And this is great news. Jesus is at work in this very moment on your behalf. He's powerful and he's strong. And may you experience something of that throughout this day and also throughout this week. May God bless you.
