Wetin Naw is a youth-focused and youth-led project that will deliver a new youth-focused and youth-led podcast series that addresses important issues that range from young people’s political participation and civic engagement to employment and skills, as well as health and wellbeing.
The project will use media to amplify the voices of young people, taking a new approach that is anchored in digital storytelling. Using a 10-part podcast series, Amplifying Young Voices will explore the issues and highlight the challenges facing young people, while also showcasing the resilience of the Sierra Leonean youths. Through stories, it will show young people are pushing boundaries in leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, and arts, among others. The aim is to create a podcast that is rounded–it spotlights entrenched issues while exhibiting success stories that inspire.

Understanding and Combating Gender-Based Violence in Sierra Leone
In this powerful episode, we dive into the critical issue of gender-based violence (GBV) in Sierra Leone, exploring its causes, far-reaching consequences, and the existing legal frameworks designed to protect survivors. Our conversation sheds light on the courageous work being done on the ground to support and empower those affected by GBV.
We are joined by Bob Lamin, the Communications Officer at Rainbo Initiative, and Umu Kulthum Sesay a Duty Counsel at AdvocAid. These are individuals are working for organizations dedicated to providing comprehensive support to GBV survivors in Sierra Leone. They have worked tirelessly to prevent gender-based violence through grassroots solutions,free legal services etc to support survivors with care, healing, safety, and dignity.
