Hello everyone. Welcome to the Honey and Grace podcast. I'm your host, Veronica Waldrum, and I pray that we can taste and see a little bit of God's goodness through today's episode together. Let's do it.
SPEAKER_02Welcome back to the Honey and Grace Podcast. I'm so glad that you are listening today, and I pray that today's episode will bless you. I'm super excited to be back talking with you all this week. Last week I was a little bit, well, the past couple weeks I've been a little bit under the weather, and thankfully my dad was able to step in. Just so glad that he was able to, and the podcast went really well. Thank you to everyone who reached out that mentioned that they loved it. I know he brought a great word. This week I'm super excited about my special guest because it is my one and only mother. So thank you, mom, for being on the podcast this week. Thank you for having me. It's um I think it's perfect timing because we're coming on here to talk about something super exciting, but it's kind of crazy that we're actually doing this the week before Mother's Day. So it kind of worked out really well. I think who better to have than my own mother. This week we are going to talk about something super exciting. My mom has been working on for a long time now. It feels like not a long time, but just feels like it. And we have been waiting patiently for the result to come out. So we are so excited about this. My mom has written a Bible study, she is now an official author. I've been telling her that, but she thinks that I'm crazy, I guess. But it is officially here. I'm holding my copy in my hand, and she is as well. And we are just so excited about this. Since it is the week before Mother's Day, it's perfect to do a little tribute to my mom. She's the best, she is so amazing and loving and kind, and she's just so strong. And anybody that knows Sister Rachel knows that she's tough too. And so she's she's just great in every way. And I I just hope to be like her someday, at least a little. She has really been my best friend as well. So I love you, mom. And I'm thankful for you.
SPEAKER_00I love you too. Don't make me cry.
SPEAKER_02And I'm so excited for this that you've been working on, and I'm so excited that people can finally get their own now. So before we get started though, it's been a minute since you've well, you've been on the podcast a couple months ago when I was under the west. Yes. But um and I had people reach out to me talking about how much they love that episode that you did. So they're definitely in for a treat today. So if you would just take a second, and maybe if anyone doesn't really know you that's listening, just take a second and kind of reintroduce yourself to the listeners, tell us what you want us to know about you, and then we'll get into talking about your new book. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Well, my name is Rachel. I'm 41 years old. 41 years young, we'll say it that way. Yeah. I have two beautiful children. I'm so very blessed with that the Lord blessed me with, uh, Veronica, which y'all know, and Dawson, my son. And then my husband that the Lord blessed me with too, um, over 20 years ago. We passed through a home missions work in Olive Branch, Mississippi, eight years now. And it has been a journey, it's been a learning journey. Can't wait to see where the Lord takes us in the future with that. And I don't know, I can add some hobbies. I like to cook. I do some cooking videos. Um, I am now writing. Uh, thank the Lord, first of all, for using me in that direction. I love to work with people, teach Bible studies. Um artist. Well, she paints. If you want to call it that. I do paint, I do love the paint. Canvases, uh, acrylic painting is my favorite where you just kind of go in there and do abstracts, whatever mood you're in, basically, is what is going to come out. And so I love doing those when I have the chance and time to do them. I have actually sold some. And by the way, if you're interested in something like that, I'd be more than happy to do something for you in that. And all proceeds go to our church building fund, so as well as this book, this Bible study book. All proceeds go to the church building fund as well.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so she is very creative, and I've always told everybody that my mom is like someone that's just good at everything. I don't know how she's always done it, but she's always been creative, she does amazing painting, drawing, all those things. She even does custom pieces, so she has sold those two, and they're my favorite ones that she does. So if you ever have anything that you want painted, she's great. So go follow her at SteelwaterArt on Instagram or Facebook or TikTok, right? You have TikTok. So go follow her and check out her stuff. If you want to add some art to your home, to your workspace, anything like that, she can hook you up. And like she said, she doesn't even take the proceeds from it, it goes to our church building fund. So it is for a good cause as well. So let's talk about this Bible study. So the Bible study is called Rooted in Him, Simplified Bible Study. Shout out to Truthbook Co. for publishing this piece for my mom. We are so excited about this once again. I love the cover, I love everything about it. It's not scary either, it's pretty thin, but it has a lot of information. It has um 10 lessons in it, along with an introduction in the beginning. I have read through it, obviously, but I've also taught it before. I'm currently teaching it right now to a couple young girls in my church, and they are really enjoying it. So I have actually used this multiple times though. And before we start talking about it, I would like to read some of the praises that are on the back of the book from two very special women of God in our lives. Sister Lou Carter, shout out to Sister Lou Carter. It says, This study is simple for new converts, yet deep enough to reinforce the truth with seasoned saints. The transparency of the testimony at the beginning gives the student a chance to know Rachel Waldrup. The feeling that people don't have the ability to teach is one of the first reasons that Christians don't undertake teaching. The sequence of the chapters and the amount of scriptures presented and rooted in him is excellent for the progress of new believers and reinforces the power of the word. Jesus always makes sure that anyone willing to teach will be impactful. This Bible study is anointed and covers many areas that reinforce important spiritual principles. And then another one from Sister Pat Wilson says Sister Rachel Waldrup has written a Bible study that is very precise, easy to understand, and deeply practical. She has clearly connected Bible truths to our everyday lives. This Bible study can be helpful to new believers and longtime Christians. It can be easily used by all ages and can guide anyone wanting to grow in their faith and understand God's word. So, first, I just want to ask you, Mom, maybe what was your process behind writing this? What how did that kind of happen for you? How did you feel like God gave this to you to write? And what did that whole process look like? Where did it stem from?
SPEAKER_00Okay, so when we started our home missions work eight years ago, I believe it was in our first few years we started doing Bible studies. And I know that everyone is familiar with the Bible studies rooted in him. I'm just saying mine. Exploring God's Word, which is a good Bible study. I forget the name. Search for Truth. Okay, so we was using Search for Truth and Exploring God's Word. I would go back and forth between the two. And I started, I think it was like the third year, I began to get a burden like I never had before for the lost. And I was like searching a way to reach them. I started praying, started fasting. I knew there was something more for me to do besides just carry a title of pastor's wife because there's so much work that goes behind it. And I started teaching Bible studies to the church first. Just everyone that would come and visit. We were having bus routes and stuff like that. So that's where we started doing the Bible studies. Then one evening as I was sitting at the house, I felt like the Lord convicted me and was telling me that I needed to go out on the streets and start teaching Bible studies, find someone like that. And I was like, there's no way. I mean, if you know me, I don't just go and talk to strangers. I've never been that type of person. I mean, I'll say hello, you know, something like that, but I'm not gonna have a full-blown conversation with you unless I really get to know you. And so I was really nervous and I was like, you know what? I'm just gonna step out by faith. I feel like the Lord is calling me to do something like this, so I'm gonna step out and do it. So I literally walked outside my yard, was looking around the neighborhood, and of course, you know, the enemy starts talking immediately. You're gonna look crazy. Don't go ask somebody if they want a Bible study. People don't want Bible studies nowadays, you know, just just stuff like that. And I was like, no, I'm I'm gonna do it. I feel like the Lord is pushing me to do this. I'm just gonna go try it. So I went and knocked on the neighbor's door, and I and I said, um, hey, I'm your neighbor. And she we knew each other from like just seeing each other in the neighborhood, but not really know each other. But I kind of felt more comfortable with asking her because, you know, we kind of see each other. And so I was like, hey, you know, I'm Rachel with Victory Church. And would it be possible if I could give you a Bible study? Would you be interested? And to my surprise, she was like, Yes. Well, when can we start? And I was like thinking in my head, oh my gosh, I cannot believe that this is actually happening. And so we set up a time, I believe it was on a Tuesday evening, and I was using a Search for Truth. And so we set up by evening at seven o'clock. I went to her house, started teaching Bible studies. She enjoyed it. She asked me to come back the next week. So I started teaching her weekly on top of teaching our young people at the church and ladies at the church. I got to understand, I got two neighbors that I start teaching Bible studies to. And after we got through about the seventh to eighth lesson in each of those, search for truth and exploring God's word, you would notice that they started losing just a little bit of interest because it was having a hard time understanding. The word was getting so deep. So I started praying, I started fasting, and I was like, Lord, what can I do to start teaching these Bible studies? It's going to be simplified for people to understand. Give enough of your word to convict them to where they understand, hey, I'm lost. I need to do something. I'm not in, I've not been baptized right. I've not been taught this. I don't know about this, this, and this. And make it simplified enough to where all ages can understand it. And so I began to pray and fast, and I believe that the Lord laid on my heart rooted in him. And, you know, if you know me, I just I get my notepad out, I start writing. Whenever I feel like the Lord's speaking to me, I just start writing away. And so that's what I started doing at first, and I didn't know what was happening. I was just, I just kept writing, kept writing verses. And I think I even spoke to you about it at one point, and I was like, I don't know if I'm writing a book. I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know if it's just notes for me to teach. At some point, I said, I don't really know what I'm doing with this. But I just feel like the Lord just keeps giving me certain scriptures, certain words, and I just start writing it down. And I I to this day I can take it to my notepads and show you all the stuff in my notes of writing. And so then I was I received a word from the Lord, Isaiah 58, verse 11, and it says, And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul and drought, and make fat thy bones, and thou shalt be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fill not. And I felt like that that verse was somehow stating that if you can get a Bible study and you can start teaching God's word, then you can become rooted in Him. And then as you become rooted in Him and you grow, your roots become deeper. Then once you get through this simplified Bible study, you can advance to Bible studies like searching for truth. What's the other one? Exploring. Exploring God's Word. So that that's where it all started from. And I fasted for this because I didn't like who am I? You know, this is I'm Rachel. I'm just a mom, pastor's wife. Who am I gonna go out there and write a Bible study and tell somebody this is what you need to do? So I was like, Lord, I don't think you picked the right person. Like, you know, I don't have all the credentials that everybody else has. Maybe, maybe you got me confused with Sister So-and-So down the road or something. So, you know, I battled that in my mind for a while with that, but then I began to pray and fast, and I felt like the Lord was like, No, I wanted to use you. You're teaching these Bible studies, this is what we're going to do. I want I'm gonna lay it on your heart to write what I want you to teach. And I said, Lord, well, if this is what you want me to do, you lead me to write each lesson. And however you want them in order, I'm going to do them. And I'm gonna search verses and I scriptures besides just King James Version. I wanted simplified verses in there as well that broke it down uh a little better than just King James Version Bible, which I absolutely love. That's the one I use the most of, but I like to use other ones that are a little bit more understandable for people. So that's the whole point behind this Bible study, rooted in him, simplified Bible study. So literally anybody can teach it. If you're if you're 10 years old, you could teach this Bible study to your friend in your class. If you want to pick it up and just read it to yourself, which I've actually had someone do, and tell me that they just enjoyed it so much by reading it. And they said that when they read it, they have actually applied some of that to their own life by reading the book. Or you could teach it to a a group of people that's never heard the word of the Lord, don't know who Moses is in the word. By the way, one of the ladies that I taught in my neighborhood, she'd never heard of Moses. So this is what I'm talking about. When I say go out and teach somebody Bible study, let's teach people that don't know the word, but we need something that they can understand, something that can connect with them easily.
SPEAKER_02Right. I think it is definitely very it's it's very complex and it has so much information, but like you said, it is simplified. And I agree with everything you said about other Bible studies that sometimes can be a little bit hard for people to get into or really tune in with you because I myself have taught Bible studies and I know what gets people's attention and what kind of things you know they that might stump them or they might not really understand. And I've loved teaching this. It's easy for the teacher and for the listener. Um whenever you're looking through it, it gives you a teacher's guide throughout it of like what to say to them, you know, like ask them questions at this point, don't forget to small talk with them, and it kind of just brings you back to real life to to remember that you are teaching a Bible study to a person and not a brick wall, because you can't just give them information, information, information, and it's just filling their mind and they're not getting any sort of connection. I think that we both like know and and I definitely believe that connection is where your Bible study is gonna grow. Like they're not gonna wanna continue coming to a Bible study that is you know, honestly boring to them. Like that's the best way to put it. So it is good to talk with them before and after, but these lessons are great. Um and I wanted to say that this so there's a couple other Bible studies, like uh pretty known Bible studies, like the Simple Salvation Bible study by Brother Taylor Fish. I think that is an incredible Bible study. Even he stresses that that Bible study is kind of like for a one and done. So if you were to see somebody on the street and you feel the tug to go teach them a Bible study, his Bible study is going to have all the information that you need to tell them right then on the spot, like, hey, this is what you need to be saved. And it's an incredible Bible study. I've used it, I love his Bible study. This Bible study is a little bit different because it goes through lessons, so this could be great for like a long term with somebody that you're meeting with weekly, and you don't just talk about like salvation, which I think is great. You do talk about salvation, it's lesson four, yes. Yes, but it is a little bit later, and I've always loved that because I've always used it's called Growing in Grace, the Bible study that I've always used Growing in Grace by Sister Cox, and I love that Bible study. And the reason why I've always loved it is because I don't I don't usually unless I feel it in the spirit, unless I feel the Holy Ghost telling me to do it, I don't want to come at them the first lesson and be like, all right, this is what you need to do to be saved. Typically, I like I love how hers starts because it starts with prayer, and it's more like a it helps you build connection as well, but it's also like a discipleship builder. It's not just salvation, it's like how do you create relationship with God? It helps you it and it walks you through, it walks you, it walks the student through how to have relationship with God, starting off with prayer and then reading your Bible and then fasting, and then you talk about the plan of salvation, and then the last one is like forgiveness or something like that. And so I love how this one goes as well because you talk about prayer, studying God's word, purpose, you're at you're basically teaching, meeting with them and telling them that they have purpose in their life. Then you talk about salvation, how to be saved, and then you even go into fasting, praising, obedience, giving, loving, and forgiveness. And so these are all things that every person needs in their life. Like whenever, in case it is a new convert, whenever somebody goes and gets baptized in Jesus' name and then filled with the Holy Ghost, well, that's not the end of their story. They need more. They need they need to know that, hey, you know, fasting is important for your flesh, obedience is important in every area of your life. You're gonna have to forgive some things and you're gonna have to let go of some things that were in your past life. And so it's like walking them through not just how to go to heaven, but also how to be a Christian and how to be a disciple and just be a better person. Yeah. So I think that's why it's so it's so great. And I mean, I'm sure that if you didn't ha wanna have a 10-week Bible study, you could definitely combine some of these. Oh, definitely, yes. You could talk about them in a different way.
SPEAKER_00I just felt like that when I when I started writing this Bible study, the Lord laid on my heart prayer first. And so I was like, if the person doesn't learn right off that prayer is going to be the most important thing you ever do and learn besides salvation, then you'll be confused on the rest of the Bible study. The Lord is with prayer, the Lord will open up their eyes and open up their understanding of what's being taught to them. And I I think I lay that out in there by how important prayer is and how important it is for you to learn. And then studying God's word, you have to read his word to be rooted in him. And we have to get these scriptures memorized in our hearts because when we face things in life, that's what we use our prayer to get strength, God's word to combat the enemy, to put Satan behind us. You know, this it's literally our bread. And so I want, I wanted to make sure that the person I'm teaching understands those two things prayer and God's word. After I had this Bible study done, it took me about a year to get it all wrote, and about a year and a half total for it to be in my hands from the time I started to the time it's been published. Um, I went, I had a burden come on me from a lady at the bank. And so I won't disclose her name, but we went, I went to the bank and I was like, I'm just gonna do it. I walked over to her and I said, Hey, how you doing? And she was like, Oh, I'm good, how are you? you know, and we just kind of did small talk for a second, and I was like, the Lord has been dealing with me about something. And I said, I'm just gonna ask you. I said, It's okay if you say no, but I said, I I can't, I've gotta ask. I said, He won't leave me alone until I do. And she was like, Well, what is it? And I said, Can I teach you a one-on-one Bible study? And she looked at me for a second and then she said, Yes, actually, I would love that. She said, I was just talking to a friend the other day and said, I needed to get into a Bible study with somebody. She said, I don't know what it is about it, but I I'm just being drawn to learning about God's word. And she said, Yes, I would love to do that. So I started meeting with her and I wanted to teach this Bible study because it was completed. And it was basically a test run. I had been using pieces of it that had been completed in other Bible studies, just throwing them in there. But this one was like a complete set. Now I'm gonna go from number one to number 10. So I started with prayer. She didn't really know how to pray, and you'll be surprised who don't. So in this Bible study chart, I even tell you take the time to explain to them how to pray because a lot of people don't know how to pray. They'll have like a 10-second prayer and that's all they know to do. So you have to break it down and tell them this is what you thank the Lord for this and praise him and magnify him, and then ask him for what you need and leave you. And so it kind of breaks breaks it down for them to understand that prayer is not as complex as you think. It's easier, it's it's talking to God and have and creating a daily relationship. So prayer is the first lesson on here. And she started, she told me, she said, okay, I'm gonna start doing that, I'm gonna start praying more. And she did. The second lesson, we went through that and studying God's word, and she did tell me she showed me that she does read the word. And she said, I'm just gonna be honest though. She said, A lot of times when I read, I'm not understanding what I'm reading. And I said, Well, that's where prayer comes in because prayer, the Lord is gonna lead you and guide you, right? And he's gonna give you a revelation of what you're reading. Then we we also I recommend that if you're gonna do a Bible study, you need to meet people at coffee shops, at ice cream places. Um, I've even met people for breakfast and gave a Bible study to them because you you want to build a relationship with that person. Just, I don't mean to say it in a mean way, but you don't want it just to be a preachy relationship to where you're just preaching to them to be saved and leave and never speak again. You don't want that. You want to build a relationship with them, become friends with them, teach them the word as you're going, and you'll be surprised how much the people will open up to you and you'll learn about their life and you can pray for them during Bible studies and stuff. Well, on the the fourth Bible study in here is salvation, but the Lord laid on my heart on the third lesson to teach her salvation. And I was like, Okay, I'm gonna do that. So I taught her salvation. The lesson on there, we sk we skipped purpose and we went straight to salvation. Three days later, she texted me and she said, Can I be baptized? And I said, Definitely. We'd love to baptize you. She said, I think through your Bible study, I've realized I've been baptized the wrong way. I was Baptized through the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. And I said, that's absolutely correct. I said, we have to be baptized in Jesus' name. And so we were so excited. It was actually my first person that I taught this particular Bible study to that came and got baptized in Jesus' name. And I was so excited about that. And then we met another lady that I came in contact with, and that's the one that I met at IHOP and taught her Bible study. In order during this one and on the fourth one of the plan of salvation, she wanted to be baptized in Jesus' name. And so that the Bible study absolutely does work. I believe that if you pray, if you're someone that teaches Bible studies, or if you're someone that's getting a burden to start teaching Bible studies, if you pray and ask God to lead you to somebody, Lord, lead me to someone that is hungry, that is searching truth, that don't know the truth, that is maybe confused, or they don't know what their purpose is in life, they don't know any of this. Lead me to that person. The Lord will lead you to them. He will put someone in your path. And yes, you're gonna have to step out of your comfort zone. You're going to have to have those embarrassing moments to where you look at somebody that you do not know and say, Hey, can I teach you a Bible study? You may get rejected. And that's okay. It's okay if you do. At least you tried. And so that the Bible study has that's just two ladies. I've taught many of them, but that's just two ladies that I actually reference in this book that the Bible study affected. And so the Bible study does work. And I'm so thankful I want to give glory to God. I don't want to take any credit for this because this was not me. This was 100% the Lord using me to write this book. And I just pray every day that this book will touch hearts. People can use it, people would be baptized. Um, it's got it's it even has a lesson in there of giving, okay? Giving is essential. We need to learn how to give.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_00And so in the eighth lesson, I talk about giving. But if you notice, on the seventh lesson is obedience. And we teach obedience in before giving because you have to be obedient to God. You need to learn how to pray, you need to learn how to study his word, you need to learn what your purpose is, all this before you tackle giving, because giving is tied to our hearts. And I I talk about, you know, more than just giving of tithes and stuff. There's other ways of giving to the kingdom of God besides what we're required of. And so I talk about that in there. I'm so thankful for Sister Wilson and Sister Carter that has wrote references on this book. Sister Lou Carter is actually from Brother Holmes's, and she used to be over their Bible study there. And she has taught, she told me one particular time how many Bible studies she just quit counting because that was just her job was to teach Bible studies. And she has invested in this book. She has been my supporter. She has texted me, encouraged me, told me how much she loves the book. She just ordered 20 of them the other day. She says she's no longer teaching from any other Bible study book. It will only be this one. And I was so like, I didn't even know what to say. I was so honored that you know she thought that of this book. But it's it has nothing to do with me. All the glory belongs to the Lord for this.
SPEAKER_02And like you mentioned, there's some really good key, key principles in this Bible study that are needed and commandments even that will help us, not just not just for the student, but I also think for the teacher, because there's been many times that I would be teaching a Bible study, and the Bible study itself, what I was reading and telling the student would be working on my heart and convicting me as I was teaching it because it helps you to realize what you're doing and what you're not doing as well when you're telling it to someone else. And I wanted to mention also that this Bible study is full of scripture, so there's nothing in here that is of from anyone or or just like only opinions. It's so full of facts and scripture. Um, in every chapter, there is like evidence of the Bible and why she talked about what she talked about in each chapter. And the chapters are actually very pretty short as well. They're full of information, but they're short. So your Bible study won't last two hours. It'll be I mean it'll be as long as you make it, but the information part won't last two hours. If anything, you could get through this Bible study in a good 30 minutes, maybe even less, to be honest, if you weren't chit-chatting as much. Yes. But um it's very it is simplified, but it's full of good stuff. The introduction tells you a little bit about my mom and her life and her burden for the ministry and the Bible studies, and um I am living proof that she is everything she says that she is, and she has taught me so well, and she was just willing. So anybody that if God would want to use you and give you the words, not everyone will heed to that, not everyone will obey and and really have the courage to do what he's asking of you. But my mom has definitely taken that, so I'm very excited and proud of her. You mentioned anybody that might teach Bible studies, or even if you would like to start teaching a Bible study, this is so perfect for that. It's um it's definitely a good starter, or it's just good in general. But if you're looking for a reason to start teaching a Bible study, or you're you feel a pull on your heart to do it, this should definitely be your sign to go grab one and start what God is putting on your heart because that's where this book even came from, is from just a willing vessel. And Bible studies are never gonna be easy or just comfortable, but when you have a good guide to go by, I think it makes all the difference when you actually know and understand the curriculum that you're teaching, then you're able to expand on it and emphasize it more to whoever you're teaching it to. So um, I think that it's so good. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the whole rooted in him theme? Where did the tree come from? And what's the whole story behind that?
SPEAKER_00Well, um, like earlier I said Isaiah chapter 58, verse 11 was a verse that I feel like the Lord laid on my heart. Um that I connected with personally, but I I used, as you can see, if you order the Bible study, I use a different verse on the front of it in Jeremiah 17 and 8. He is like a tree planted by the streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither, and all that he does, he prospers. So I know that I've always had a thing for trees, okay? So I love trees. I don't know where that came from. Like I have a little journal sitting over here, and if you open it, I literally have drawn trees in there. What they represent, what type of tree. And if you read the word, wait, it's kind of funny. But Paul compared us to an olive tree, and olive trees are ugly, they're very ugly unless you groom them, and but they produce such a needed item, and it's oil. So I've always just had this thing for trees. I just love trees, and I know that you can relate it to the word as being planted by the rivers of water. When you read God's word, when you pray, when you fast, you become more rooted in him. And so that's basically where that came from. I felt like the Lord laid the word on my heart rooted in him, and I was just I thought, no better name than rooted in him, because you know, we need to be rooted in Jesus. And I wanted to teach the most tense, simplified lessons that we need as Christians, and just name it rooted in him because it's gonna get you started, and it's not there's so much more to learn in the word, you'll never ever be done learning the word.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's just the roots, yeah, it's just the foundation how to live for him and how to be a Christian and grow from there because obviously you're gonna grow every day of your life living for God, but this is like the roots of what you need to know and what you need to hear. And so it's so good. I love how it turned out, and I'm so excited about it. I want everybody to get a copy. Even if you're not someone to teach Bible studies, and maybe you don't even want to teach Bible studies. This is such a good, this would be such a good read. Like you said, somebody had read it and started to, you know, reflect on their life by reading it. You can learn so much just from this. You can learn how to pray, how to study God's word. You can learn, you know, simple things like you have purpose. If you're a little bit confused about salvation, you can read about that, about why it's important to fast or to praise in church, to be obedient or to give, all these different things. Um, it could be just a good read in general. And so I definitely highly recommend this book, not just because it's from my mom, but because it is a blessing, it has touched people, like she said, there has been people baptized after teaching this book, and no telling how many seeds have been planted just by the the lessons that are in here. I'm currently teaching it, and I have actually taught it before to guys and girls, and it's perfect. There's not a gender on it, there's not a she addresses everyone, not just females. This is a book for anyone for males, females, for older, younger, whatever. Like Sister Wilson said, it could be for any age, and it's just so great. I love it so much. Why don't you tell us a little bit about where we can get one?
SPEAKER_00Okay. Um, just to throw in there, I had somebody order eight of them, and they don't teach Bible studies. But he said, I'm ordering these because I want to give them to my co-workers as a gift. And so he said, just so they can pick it up and read it. Because he said, I think that if you didn't want to teach Bible studies, he said, You literally could just read this book like you have said, what a go for yourself and apply it to yourself.
SPEAKER_02And it would be a quick, easy read as well. It's not overwhelming.
SPEAKER_00And he said, I think that he said it's kind of my way of witnessing if I can just buy these, give them as a gift, and let them read it. And he said, I think that it would be awesome. I was like, that is a good idea. So I know that you can get them on Amazon. You can also get them on truthbooks.co. You can I you can message me and order them directly from me as well, and I can ship you one. Um, all proceeds from this book, it's only$11.95, so it's not expensive. It's very reasonable price, it only has 66 pages in it. And like you said earlier, you can combine these lessons if you don't want to teach 10 weeks. You know, you can combine them.
SPEAKER_02You could even mix up the way that you oh yes, you don't you don't have to teach them in order. Yeah, it's not like a step-by-step.
SPEAKER_00Yes. You can teach them however you feel. And and and if you get comfortable with the person you're fixing to teach a Bible study to and you pray about it, the Lord's gonna kind of lead you on what Bible lesson you need to start with. Right. But all proceeds from this book go star our church building fund. We've been here eight years. The Lord has blessed us to be able to purchase property on Goodman Road, which is so amazing. It's an awesome piece of property. And now we are actually raising funds to start our building. We have our plans done and all that. So all proceeds, everything goes straight to the building fund. I do not take one dime from this.
SPEAKER_02Right. So good. Um, so you can grab one on Amazon, Truth Books Co., or you could also message my mom. You could even message me on my personal page or Honey and Grace. I'd love to help you out with that as well. We're so excited about this. So go grab one, go order one. They're cheap, they're not expensive at all, and the pro the proceeds go to our church building fund. We also will have a table at Dear Girls Conference this year in Memphis, Tennessee. It is the last week of July this summer. We're so excited. I know I've been talking about it on the podcast the last few months, so definitely get registered for that. But if you will be there, they will be available to purchase at Dear Girls. So we're so excited about that. If you want to grab one there in person, if you'd like to even talk to my mom who wrote it, maybe you want to get some encouragement, maybe you have some questions. I'm sure she'd love to talk with you. She's great at doing this and teaching Bible studies. And this is just a great guide to get started or to even just just switch over your curriculum, whatever you want to do. Um, I also wanted to say we will be posting and pushing this more on social media. If you don't follow my mom already, it's I think it's Jeremiah and Rachel Waldra, but you can go follow them. I'll put all of the links to the books or to I'll put all of the links to the book if you'd like to grab one in this description so you don't have to go searching for it. I'll also put her tag in the description as well. So if you'd like to follow along this journey, definitely do that. We also would not be upset at all if you would like to share this podcast with a friend and tell them about this book as well. If you would like to share on your social media whenever you see the Rooted in Him Bible study pop up, if you'd like to share it on your story, send it to a friend. We would not hate that at all. That would be so kind. We're trying to push this as much as possible because we know that this can be a key and to help people in ministry that are wanting to make a difference and that are wanting to teach Bible studies or even just grow closer to the Lord. So we want to share this and get this out there as much as possible. So we would appreciate that. Um, also, I mean, continue to follow my mom on this journey because this is not her last book. She's actually already working on something else. So don't tell us too much, but give us a little snippet of what you're working on right now.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so I'm currently working on another book that the Lord has just been working me over on because I was not gonna do it, but he won't leave me alone once again. So I have I'm on chapter five, and I think it's gonna be about 10 chapters. And it is, I'm not gonna give the name of it right now, but it is aimed toward ministers' wives in all ministries, missionaries, pastors' wives, bishops' wives, evangelists, all of them. And I feel like that even if you're not in that call, that as a woman, you will be encouraged and lifted up through this Bible study, through this book. So, yes, it's in the works, and I'm very excited about it. I'm so thankful, and I'm thankful that you know the Lord's gonna use me in any I I've told him many times when I'm praying, Lord, use me however you want. I'm just a willing vessel. So I just pray that the Lord uses me and and maybe when this gets hopefully this can be published sometime in the future here, not too long, and we can uh get that pushed out there for all of us women because we need encouragement, we need strength, and I think through this book that I'm writing is gonna help us.
SPEAKER_02Right. Amen. This will be I will definitely be on the lookout for this one. I'm super excited for it as well. But you mentioned and I wanted to emphasize how you keep mentioning that you know you're just doing it and the Lord is giving you this, and it's not because of you, but it's because of the Lord. And um, to anyone that might feel like a call to write something, whether it's a book, whether it's just sharing stuff on social media or you know, sending someone a message or like doing anything like that, doing a podcast, it could be anything. It's not I heard someone say before that if you feel a tug to do something and it's not in your comfort zone, then it's probably the Lord because your flesh doesn't want you to do stuff like that. And your flesh would never be like, oh, I want to go write a Bible study. Like that's not really how that works. If the Lord has given you something, usually you're scared about it to do it. But like you said, you know, you, me, and probably most people listening to this, we do pray the prayer, Lord, I'm available to do whatever you want me to do. God use me, you know, I'm a willing vessel. And then when we think of writing a book or writing poetry or writing a song, anything like that, we immediately want to run away from it because we're too scared and we don't want to pursue that or we're too embarrassed to to try to step out and do something like that.
SPEAKER_00We don't feel like we're qualified to do it, and so you know, we push ourselves back, like, no, no, I think you got me confused with somebody else. That's not for me.
SPEAKER_02Right. And it doesn't matter who you are, whether you're well known or whether you're not really well known. If God gives you something, then he's giving it to you to use through you. And it doesn't matter, like everybody says, you've heard probably multiple times, God doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the called. So if you are called, he will qualify you however he wants to, and he will use that. And I believe God's gonna use this Bible study mightily, and and I pray that people will buy this and and put it to use and use it and use it for the glory of God and growing his kingdom. It's gonna be a blessing, it's gonna be so great.
SPEAKER_00That's the number one thing I want this Bible study to do is help people that have the burden to teach Bible studies, let it be easy and simplified. That's the mango, and then for people that receive it, understand it and have a seed planted in them from this Bible study. That was that's just take it part of it. That's just my heart's desire is to see that this Bible study can help in every way possible.
SPEAKER_02Right. Amen. I'm so excited about this. So make sure you go grab a copy. Amazon Truthbook Co. even if you want to message us, they are available for anyone to grab. We're so excited that you're able to get your hands on one of these. I will be teaching it, and I hope that maybe God will give you the burden to teach it as well.
SPEAKER_00I don't think I gave a shout out to Truth Book Co., but they did an amazing job, and I'm so thankful that they took this project on. And yes, I just I mean, they did it so elegant, it looks so beautiful. They did a wonderful job.
SPEAKER_02They did thank you to Truth Books Co. Um, y'all are great. They have some wonderful books on there as well. Some that I've actually done interviews with the authors on this podcast before, so go check them out if you haven't already. Thank you so much, mom, for being on the podcast again. I'm so excited for this, and I love talking with you about this today. I know that it'll bless someone, and I know that it'll bless you if you go grab one of these books.
SPEAKER_00Thank you so much for having me. I love being on your show.
SPEAKER_02All right, thank you for listening, and I'll talk to you all next week.
