The church bells rang as demons wailed. Thunder crashed and shattered windows throughout the town. Angels stood in awe. Silenced by the handiwork of God. My father froze. Speechless. My mother's birth pains echoed distantly in her ears. We're all new and understood. Timothy Williams had been born. And now that we've all had our laugh, heck, more can be found out by listening to the Consider Podcast, www.consider.info. Hey, Gary, roll me the thunder one more time. The Consider Podcast. SPEAKER_01

Who is Timothy? Status in the year of our Lord, 2026. The church bells rang as demons wailed. Thunder crashed and shattered windows throughout the town. Angels stood in awe, silenced by the handiwork of God. My father froze, speechless. My mother's birth pains echoed distantly in her ears. For all knew and understood, Timothy Williams had been born. Now that we've had our laugh, here's the truth. I was born unnoticed, a slimy, crying infant, utterly worthless in God's sight, clamoring only for my own needs, only for his sake, and by his mercy alone, did he choose to save me from myself. If Timothy Williams had lived during the days of the New Testament church in the Book of Acts, he would have been counted among the weakest and least significant members of the congregation. There is nothing inherently impressive or noteworthy about him. So what is worth knowing? Only what God has done and what he continues to do throughout eternity is truly worthy of attention. Early life and calling. Timothy grew up in a spiritual void. His family attended the local Methodist church only on Easter and Christmas. His father, a 32nd degree Mason, later found himself deeply embarrassed when his son began seriously following Christ. In college, Timothy majored in psychology with minors in religious studies and sociology. But God had other plans. He called Timothy to drop out of school entirely, and Timothy finally obeyed one semester before graduation. Being young in the Lord, it took him over a year to obey. He was deeply troubled, wondering whether this calling was really from God. Timothy finally obeyed, but to do what? At the time, neither Timothy nor anyone else knew. His parents were understandably troubled by the sudden decision and the prospect of their son becoming a college dropout. Two decades after his birth, Timothy was baptized as a disciple of Jesus. He had been sprinkled as an infant, but he now regards that as a religious formality without true biblical or spiritual substance. The church where he became a disciple was a typical non-denominational congregation, friendly, socially comfortable, and filled with a patchwork of scriptures. The message of the cross, however, was absent and often met with discomfort or outright objection when mentioned plainly. Over time, tension grew. When Timothy fully surrendered to the Holy Spirit and began taking God at his word without compromise, the relationship with that church became untenable. Both sides eventually parted with a sigh of relief. Ministry path. At that point, God called Timothy to become a pastor, one who shepherds a local church. He had already been preaching the gospel for some time. As of this writing, however, Timothy functions as a preacher on the Consider podcast, but not as a pastor of any congregation. He never attended Bible college or received formal theological training by modern religious standards. His schooling came instead through directly following the voice of the Holy Spirit, always being led closer and closer to the cross, with all its accompanying sufferings, humiliations, weakness, and shame. Through many years, this crude, rough, and inexperienced disciple stumbled along behind Jesus, never giving up. Looking back, Timothy still shudders with shame as God reminds him of his crudeness and immaturity, even as he celebrates the mercy of God that is sustaining him. Just as Paul wrote in Second Corinthians 4 1. Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Timothy is allowed by the Holy Spirit to do the same. Walking with Jesus is never easy. The full story of the sufferings and joys God has pressed into Timothy's life would fill a long book. One few would likely want to read in detail. Persecution and great loss. Six decades into his life, the harvest of righteousness God had been cultivating in Timothy burst into open persecution in the city of Enum Claw of Washington State. Decades of preaching the uncompromised truth and obeying the self-sacrificing demands of Jesus led to a sudden outbreak of opposition, much like a sewer pipe of hidden sin, lies, and religious hypocrisy finally bursting open. It mirrored the events described in Acts 8 1 through 2. On that day, a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. Persecution is expected when living a godly life, and this is also one manner in which God separates the chaff from the wheat. See Mark 22, 31. In short, the city of Enum Claw police, the Washington State Prosecutors of King County, and a conspirator who had been waging a multi-level hate crime built on lies succeeded in putting an innocent man in prison. This orchestrated campaign destroyed Wine Press Publishing, the Salt Shaker Christian Bookstore, and Sound Doctrine Church, driving every member of the church out of town. The trumped-up charges arrived at the doorstep because the law is so debased in Washington State that as King County prosecutors informed a selected dumbed-down jury, quote, the state does not have to prove anything but age, end quote. See King County Superior Court, State of Washington, plaintiff versus Malcolm Frazier, defendant, case number 12-1-01886-0. Thus, City of Enum Claw Detective Grant McCall fully understood that he could co-engineer a hate crime against the church he opposed because the prosecution would lie by not investigating for facts, truth, and evidence. The police, prosecutors, and judge Laurie K. Smith knowingly knew they could put lying witnesses on the stand to destroy pastor and preacher of Christianity, Timothy Williams, through a proxy prosecution of Malcolm Fraser. In their darkened legal minds, no evidence of a crime is required. However, massive evidence of legal corruptions can be found at www.consider.info and www.enumclaw.com. At the same time, during the height of this ordeal, Timothy's wife, Carla, succumbed to a brain tumor and died. Because of the ferocity of the hate-driven flames, everything was destroyed and all was lost. Simply because Timothy stood firm in his love for Jesus. Where things stand today. Timothy may update this information from time to time as it becomes clear what people want or need to know. In the meantime, a vast amount of teaching, sermons, and conversations can be found by visiting or listening to the Consider Podcast. Basic facts. Timothy is host of the Consider Podcast. He is single and in his seventh decade of life. He was married at a very young age for thirty-eight years and was never divorced. He is not starting a church, nor is he a member of any local church, denomination, or religious organization. He is not launching or leading a movement of any kind. Beyond the thousands of sermons, articles, and materials he has given away freely over the years, here are his main published books. Even the demons believe. Bad fruit, once saved, always saved. Hosts Open With A Hard Question

SPEAKER_03

Now, here are your hosts, Timothy and Jacob.

Timothy

As I always say, Jacob, how's it going? It's going good. That intro should probably answer everybody's questions, correct? Yeah. I'll what more is there a need to know? We can probably go home and do other things.

Jacob

Oh, okay. This is the shortest show ever, huh?

Timothy

Yep, but that's not my question for you. So play the question bumper and let's kick it out.

SPEAKER_05

Ready? Set? Got a question for you. Whoa, whoa, whoa, says Jacob. Tough, says Tim. No whoa, no go woa. Here is the question.

Confession Misused By The Self Righteous

Timothy

Jacob, what do you think? If Peter went to the Pharisees or the Sadducees and he began to confess some sins. You know, and following Jesus Christ, you become very weak. Remember, I mentioned in there that uh this crude disciple that God reminds me of my crudeness and immaturity and the need to keep growing up, even though I'm way into decades of following Jesus, right? Do you think uh if Peter went to a Pharisee and go, yeah, man, you know, I I'm gonna confess my sin that I was in the boat with Jesus and uh and I got out of the boat. He was he was walking on water and I started to sink because I didn't have faith. You think they'd be interested?

Jacob

Um, would the Pharisees be interested? Well, the Pharisees have like corrupted minds, so they would be, yeah, they'd be interested. They would use it, they would use it to like attack.

Timothy

Okay, that's a good point. Or what about uh let's see John or one of the apostles goes to another Pharisee or two group of people and go, yeah, you know, we were following Jesus, he sent us out to preach, and we preached, we we healed people, we did all cast out demons, and then we came back and we were all excited about what we had done, and he rebuked us, he he put us in our place. You think they could relate to that confession of sin and and crudeness that they were involved in?

Jacob

No, they the Pharisees would not relate at all.

Timothy

Or the average person, correct? Correct, no. Um, or you know, these are like a series of questions. Um, what about the time the apostles all came to Jesus and gave him advice? Like, you know, hey, if you want to be in public, you gotta do this public stuff. And, you know, why are you hiding over here? And what are you doing? Talk well, they actually didn't rebuke him, but they saw him talking with a woman and things like that. And they're always kind of, you know, giving Jesus advice like do this or don't do that, or why do you do that, right? You remember all that?

Jacob

Yes, okay, yeah.

Timothy

Well, what do you think? You think the average person following Jesus or whatever would consider this to be a sin or something to be ashamed of or anything like that?

Jacob

Uh what do you mean, wait, wait, what's this question? The average person are we talking in Jesus' time, like somebody else saw Jesus talking to the woman?

Timothy

Yeah, don't go too deep with it. It just means like um they're they're confessing it, they're really broken over this. They're obviously years later they're convicted as he is resurrected about how just how stupid they were, really. Yeah. Um you think the average person's gonna, I mean, they might sympathize in the whole bit, are they are they gonna kind of get it?

Jacob

No, they won't get it at all. They will they will get nothing.

Timothy

All right. Or what about, and this is this is my kind of uh last question, so to speak, or when when Paul, we read in scripture that he had been preaching the gospel for quite some time, and then at one point he thought, and I'm quoting scripture at this point, that he had run his race in vain, and so he went to see other people. So he had doubts about what was going on. Okay. Now, once those doubts were resolved and everything was taken care of, he he's admitting his weakness. He's actually writing it down. I mean, that's an amazing thing to write down. What what teacher out there have you ever read even today that writes, Yeah, I thought everything I did up to this point was completely wrong? You just don't hear that. No, you do not hear that. So if if Paul were to confess this to a young Christian or somebody just following, you know, as he went to see those that were considered in leadership, you think they could really relate to the doubt or that it would do them any good to actually hear that confession?

Jacob

No, it would not do them any good.

Timothy

Okay, here's my point. Okay. Um there's a lot of people that will listen to this video, and as I talk about crudeness and conviction of sin and God laying me low, what they are assured of at that point is that what I did or said to them according to the truth, that they're really right on, that they didn't do anything wrong.

Jacob

Oh, sure. That like, yeah, they they they it's a way for them to like excuse their own sin.

Timothy

Correct. They keep waiting for me to come up with this big sin that I'm going to confess that somehow will justify their anger, their hostility, that they will then be assured that this grudge that they've been holding on to, this lie they're holding on to, is really true because Timothy Williams had this sin and that's what he's confessing. Correct.

Jacob

Yeah. They want to justify themselves.

Timothy

There's a there's a lot of wisdom here in confessing sin and a lot of angles, and can't go into a lot today. The main point is that we just they're going to assume the worst. And that's not what we're talking to today. There's always going to be those people because they've been rebuked by the truth, because they're no longer following Jesus Christ, because there's all kinds of conviction sin, they are sure because I didn't stumble the way they do, and I haven't turned my back on Jesus, and I didn't confess my sins the way they did, that by posting that particular statement, aha, there's something there. They imagine the worst of me in order to justify themselves. Yes. Uh, any comments, questions on that so far? Because the main reason that I'm even doing a show like this, well, obviously I feel like it's in the Lord to be done, but there are limits as to what I'm going to share. I'm not going to throw pearls to pigs, and I'm not going to confess things that nobody could relate to unless you're actually following Jesus Christ, having passed through the narrow gate and walking the narrow road. Don't go to it, but Psalms 107 basically says, let those that have been redeemed by the Lord say so. And that's what I'm doing. After all of the decades of following Jesus and continuing to cling to him, what I'm hoping to communicate is that he is righteous, that he is holy, that there is a humility and a brokenness, and at the same time a mercy that holds up those that are seeking

Hunger And Thirst For Righteousness

Timothy

him. Comments or anything? Because I've kind of that's a long-winded intro. No, that makes sense. When it comes to me, and that's what I hate about talking about this, that's why I'm not really talking about me. I'm trying to point everybody to Jesus Christ. But in Matthew chapter 5, verse 6, you can go to it if you want. People can kind of quote it all over the place, or do you want to go to it? Go ahead and read that. Matthew chapter 5, verse 6. Because if you don't have this in your life, you are not going to be interested in me. And in fact, you may prosecute, persecute, avoid, look for errors, look for slips, and look for faults. Because kind of confirm, Jacob, is this true or not? Matthew chapter 5, verse 6.

Jacob

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Timothy

If you don't hunger and thirst, let me repeat that. If you don't hunger and thirst for righteousness, I'm of no value to anybody. Is that correct?

Jacob

Yeah, that's correct.

Timothy

And if you're religious, if you like the wide road Christianity that's out there, the cultural Christianity, if you don't have a hunger and a thirst for righteousness, you will not, at a minimum, be interested in anything I have to say. You will certainly not find me to be of any benefit. And the odds are if it gets too close to you, you will persecute or prosecute, vile, go into the slander. A lot of these people that have left that you see vocally out there saying, I'm corrupt, I'm evil, all those things, is because they don't not hunger and thirst for righteousness, and they have turned their back on Jesus Christ. Yep. Amen, true or not, or false. Very true. Somewhere in between. Very true. All right. Any comments before we play this next little intro? No. All right, go ahead and play it, and let's talk about

Psalm 41 And The Mechanics Of Slander

Timothy

Psalm 41, verses 4 through 7.

SPEAKER_05

They are sure the offense is false. They are so solid that their darkened heart is light. They know God is on their side, and it's a matter only of time. The truth wounds them, but they are sure of their lie. The noble messenger they pronounce is wrong. The holy man, they are sure, is faulty, like them. Psalm 41, 4 through 7. I said, O Lord, have mercy on me. Heal me, for I have sinned against you. My enemies say of me in malice. When will he die and his name perish? Whenever one comes to see me, he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander. Then he goes out and spreads it abroad. All my enemies whisper together against me. They imagine the worst of me. The Consider Podcast.info. Examining today's wisdom, folly, and madness.

Timothy

Any comments, Jacob? No. Kind of self-explanatory. I mean, that is the slander that you see. The fact that the church was literally prosecuted, proxy, so to speak, by King County prosecutors is a result of this particular psalm. People going out, they gathered up slander, they spread it abroad, and they whisper. So again, I'm just kind of really hammering a nail, so to speak, into the coffin that I'm not talking to these people for which they always assume the worst of me, that I have the worst of this sin, or I have this sin over here. Part of the, you know, just to give you one example, people would often accuse me of never confessing sin, which it simply is not true. Sure. What happens is I don't throw a hissy fit. And I and I don't whine and I don't complain, and I don't go, oh, you're being too hard and judgmental, and I don't offer a bunch of excuses. It's like literally you slip up, you sin, I confess it is sin. It's not it's not a big deal like they make it. It's not like a three-year-old kind of thing. Throwing a fit. Throwing a fit, yeah, exactly. Um makes sense. So I I'd get I would call, I'd somebody say, Yeah, I sinned. I was impatient. I wasn't paying attention. It's over with, it's done, and I'm always moving on. So the confession of sin is a continual

Wise Confession And Spiritual Maturity

Timothy

thing. And I guess a lot of people don't notice because their hearts are stubborn and their hearts don't want to change. And they want me to carry the cross for them. And they don't they want to be justified or they just want to get out of the guilt. And so they're confessing from all kinds of weird motives and mixed up things. So they assume that because I'm not, you know, throwing this hissy fit like we just said, therefore I'm not confessing sin. Yes. As a side note about confession sin, we can't go too too deep with this. But Jacob, would you consider if you're worried about paying bills and there's not enough there, you know, the basic human condition, and you're called to trust God. And so you're worrying, you're fretting, you're sinking like Peter. Oh, God, what are we going to do? The turmoil goes on, uh, the worry that happens. Would you that would be sin, correct? Correct. All right. Would you go to your five-year-old child and confess that sin to your child? You most definitely would not. You wouldn't go to a five-year and go, oh man, pray with me. I don't know what we're gonna do. We're gonna, I can't pay the utility bill and the phone bill, and a cable will have to be cut off, and and I'm struggling. You know, pray for me, and you go through, you know, and I don't know what to do. What you would do? Would you do that? No, you would not. So there would be a whole group of people for which you would never even confess sins. Yes. Because they're just not mature enough. There's just it's not that you don't want to confess sins. Suppose you didn't have anybody to chair with.

Jacob

It's not appropriate. It's literally not appropriate. The five-year-old does not have the mental capacity. The five-year-old, you would actually you would just do the five-year-old harm. They'd be confused, they wouldn't know, they would see that like you're stressed out. The whole thing is would be bad. It's not beneficial to the five-year-old.

Timothy

It would cause the five-year-old to stumble, correct? Correct, yeah. All right, so go to Hebrews chapter 12, verse 11. I'm gonna have you read like 11 through 13. So you had you had a group of people in the church that are young believers. Well, I'm not going to go confess to them. I remember one time a group of brothers were getting together and they started confessing their sin of lust, correct? And that all that happened is they kept increasing their confession to the point that everybody was getting full of lust. Sure, yeah. You have to be mature enough to receive the confession. And you can't just go to anybody, confess everything. There's a time and a place for everything. I mean, looking back on it, obviously, with all the slanders and the bad hearts and God giving me a taste of what it's going to be like in the end times when the love of roasts grow cold and people fall away and they hate and betray one another to the point of death. I mean, that's a lot of what God was working in my life. I can see why the Holy Spirit applied a lot of wisdom of not confessing. And they're going to think the worst sin here. I'm not talking about, I'm talking about struggling to follow Jesus Christ, getting hold of the message, preaching the gospel. I mean, preach three times a week, getting all of that correct, struggling with my own struggles, meeting everybody's needs. Sins they could not even relate to, let alone I can imagine what would be the end result if they were allowed to be partakers of this inner struggle that they just certainly were at a minimum not mature enough to even be of help. Correct. That's not ego, that's just how it is. Read Hughes chapter 12, verses eleven through thirteen.

Jacob

No descip no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and your weak knees. Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but but rather healed.

Discipline Pain And Strengthening Weak Knees

Timothy

Unless you're walking this walk, you're not gonna understand, you know, it says no discipline seems pleasant time, but painful. I was in a constant state of pain for decades. I mean scripture says that those who teach and preach we judge more severely, and so God is desperate to clean me up and anybody else that decides to teach or to preach or whatever, plus just getting the message of the cross down. As the intro said, there isn't enough time or place, nor would people be interested in all the different ways that I was under pain during this time. This is not some abstract idea, like, oh, he's being disciplined, oh, praise God, happy time. This is like a great deal of pain and suffering at the same time being required to preach, like I said, three or four times a week, write tracts, write sermons. The word of God is a double-edged sword to those with a good heart. So it cuts both ways, both to the person you're speaking to and the person doing the speaking, if they hunger and thirst for righteousness. And one of the things people misunderstand about righteousness is it takes time. The painful part of following Jesus Christ, again, I always report report back to the 12 apostles, they had to spend three and a half years suffering under following Jesus Christ. It was only after the resurrection that a harvest of righteousness came into place. Now, I don't have time to, and I keep repeating this, don't have time to go into it, and peace. So the peace comes later. Let's read that. Hebrews 12, verse 11. Later on, so the pain was intense, the pain was constant. It was 24-7. That's why a lot of people left the church or never came back. Because if you're going to follow Jesus Christ, that pain for years, or how long God has in mind is going to press on. Being crucified is a painful process, right, Jacob?

Jacob

Yes, it is.

Timothy

So as God tries to nail down our hands so we just don't do what we want to do, as he tries to nail down our feet so that we don't go where we want to go, as he puts a crown of thorns on our heads so we don't think what we want to think, does not all those things produce pain? Yes, it does. Then add to that the social ridicule and the oppression that comes from the outside, people mocking. It's painful. Later on, however, it's and this is what most people will do. Jesus says, by persevering they bear a crop. Most people do not want to persevere. And so when you bump into these people that are slandering and twisting and perverting things, it's because they did not want to endure the pain of the cross, and so they don't understand, they don't even know what a harvest of righteousness means. Correct. Because at the end of verse 11 says you got to be trained by it. A lot of people went through the suffering, and that that's the that's the King County court testimony. I was in pain, this went on, oh, all these struggles. Of course, most of it was lies, a lot of it was completely exaggerated, and so on. They quit before they ever got to the place of peace or righteousness because they didn't hunger the thirst for righteousness. And of course, I you know, I I could say King County courts are controlled by Satan, but it's a little obvious that they're just corrupt. Correct. The laws are corrupt, the methodology is corrupt. You don't even need Satan for that kind of corruption. Now he uses it, but it's a total mess. Yeah. All right, so what was I supposed to do? What does verse 12 say should be done, Jacob of Hebrews 12, 12?

Jacob

Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and your weak knees.

Timothy

One of the things I would do is confess before God my sin and things and go on. And what you're tempted for, or one other sin in there, is self-pity. And when you're in self-pity, the arms drop and then the knees get weak, and oh, I don't want to go on, and how long is this gonna last and when it's gonna be over? You know, people love to nurse self-pity. What does it say to do? Strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Okay, in other words, suck it up. This is just part of following Jesus Christ. Get used to it, rejoice, get to a place where you can rejoice in it and continue to do the good that you know that you should do. That's why Paul says, by his mercy we have this ministry, because you want your your arms become weak and your knees become weak, and you just you just want to fall down and collapse and go, what's the point? Why carry on? You've heard that in people that leave. Well, what's the point? I can never do anything right. Isn't that a that's their hymn? Correct. That's their refrain. Well, I I said the same thing, except the difference is Lord help me to do what's right. Yeah. It's not like I Timothy Williams was born, and as the intro talked about, and demons wailed and thunder roared, and God was so pleased. I mean, there is the driving you down to weakness. The only difference is, and I've had people ask me, well, what makes you different? Well, they didn't give up.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah.

Timothy

It was all part of God's plan. It's what he's got to break me. One of the things I eventually learned, and I the minute I say this, I'm waiting for a new lesson is I give up really fast. You know, God comes to me, you're right. Oh, yes, yeah. I don't argue the point. Correct. And if God says, well, you still got to be disciplined for it. I appreciate your agreement. Okay, fine, no problem. Let's let's get on, let's get it over with. So there's a hope and a peace that comes from it. Now, the reason that Hebrews tells us to strengthen our feeble arms and weak knees is what does verse 13 say, Jacob?

Jacob

Make level paths for your feet so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

Timothy

So we're back to the five-year-old again. You you want to arrange the house, you want to do the prayers. I mean, and you and you strengthen yourself to trust the Lord. And you you might even pray in a family meeting, like, Lord, we need money. You're teaching the child to trust God, but you're not looking to the child to fix it or to pat you on the back or to weep with you or to moan and groan that how bad things are. But you want to use those sufferings so that they, the child, the five-year-old, or whoever is lame and weak, can be healed. So there was always seeing me change if you looked and if you weren't in self-pity and everything I just said. Any comments or anything? Because I kind of covered a lot of ground. No, no comments. All right, that's why again, and I'm just passing through as we go down the notes, Psalms 41, where it says, Oh Lord, have mercy on me, heal me, for I have sinned against you. There is this personal, regardless of whether I've sinned against other people or not, and I made every effort not to because I hunger and thirst for righteousness. So I may not be at fault toward certain men or other situations or whatever, but there is the sinning against the Lord. He sees in the heart. And then what happens is the enemies of the cross, which are many, as Paul says, come and gather slander while they come in saying, Oh, we're concerned for you. We're praying for him. We hope he works through it all. But in their heart, they're really gathering up slander so they can go spread it abroad, and then whisper so you can't get to it. Bottom line is all the whispering that went on behind the scenes has put an innocent man in prison. No doubt. Completely true, factual, full of evidence, and that's why Satan was able to use King County prosecutors for his own purposes. Comments, questions, tell me I'm wrong. Let's let's go for it, Jacob. Nope. Sounds good. All right, first Thessalonians chapter 2, verse 8.

Sharing Gospel Versus Sharing Your Life

Timothy

Let's go to that particular passage. And I want to do a little division here of one reason the intro was sort of vague was because you just I I I can share the gospel with anybody that's open, or even in a podcast, or in a large tracks, books, whatever, but that doesn't mean I'm going to share my life as well. That said, any any questions you want to ask? Is there anything in the intro or we've talked so far that you think people may want to know, or that I should have communicated in some way?

Jacob

Well, I think um from the intro, I think a lot of people, maybe even a few generic questions, like I know in the intro, um in the intro, like in the beginning, you know, it says like you were sprinkled and that eventually you were baptized, because you talk about the be kind of the beginning. So what where were you baptized at? Well, I was a baby. Oh, well, no. Well, you were sprinkled, but then later you were baptized.

Timothy

Correct. That's the part I'm not gonna go into. Oh, okay, yeah. Uh I'm not gonna give states and location and the church I was at. That's too much detail. It's not really significant. Um, I'll give everybody a hint. It was in the buckle of the Bible belt.

Jacob

Okay, nope, that's fine. I'm just just generic questions that people might ask after watching the video, is all I'm, you know, exploring.

Timothy

I no, I appreciate that. And throw anything else out that you want to, um, and I may consider and and share it. Well, let's read First Thessalonians 2 8 to make it clear, and then I'll back up with that. Go ahead and read uh 1 Thessalonians 2.8.

Jacob

We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.

Timothy

So there's a division here. He he goes, you can see he shared the gospel, but then the fellowship developed, a fellowship in the Lord and by the Holy Spirit, and based on a hunger and thirst for righteousness and everything good. So then he began to share his life as well. Otherwise, you're throwing your pearls to pigs, it's a huge risk. That's why you just don't go confess sin to everything else. So one of the reasons I'm avoiding the question is because the minute I tell people, okay, well, this is the church I was literally baptized in, I'm then pigeonholed for them to think, oh, that's where he got his doctrinal training. Sure. That's why I mentioned in the intro that, yeah, I was baptized in that church and it was socially acceptable and all those things. But because I took God at his word, or rather, he grabbed a hold of me, is really what went on, and just began to press in the word, and then I'm essentially teaching, preaching, asking questions, it's all kind of mixed up at that point. It came into conflict with the culture of Christianity that was there at the time. And so it became unintendable. So to say that the church taught me or that I was influenced at all by the church, the only true answer is yeah, I was influenced, influenced to go back to God, influenced to go back to the word of God, to go back and surrender. And that created a conflict that eventually both of us had to leave, so to speak. Sure, yeah, yeah. So that's why I kind of avoid those details. What I share in the future, maybe, but the truth is is not significant. And pick any church. Um that's why when I see people in the they could be in the worst church possible. If if they really surrender to God and take God's word is who he is, the conflict will arise if you live it. The only way that that doesn't happen, either God is A, having you be quiet, or B, two, you're just not pressing in enough that eventually nobody's gonna want you there and you're not gonna want to be there. Comments, questions, whatever before we press on to the next thing.

Identity Traps And Why Not Pastor

Timothy

No. All right, let's go to let's go to John chapter one and play that scripture.

SPEAKER_00

John chapter one, verses 19 through 27. Now this was John's testimony. When the Jews of Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was, he did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, I am not the Christ. They asked him, Then who are you? Are you Elijah? He said, I am not. Are you the prophet? He answered, No. Finally they said, Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself? John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, I am the voice of one calling in the desert. Make straight the way for the Lord. Now, some Pharisees who had been sent questioned him, Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet? I baptize with water, John replied, but among you stands one you do not know. He is the one who comes after me, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.

Timothy

What smacks you in the face here, Jacob, about this particular section of scripture?

Jacob

Hold on, I'm gonna get to the actual spot on the screen.

Timothy

That's a good delay factor. I like that. By the way, if you got any other questions to kick my way, go ahead. Uh you may not get the answer, but uh it helps me to understand maybe what I could be missing on what I should explain.

Jacob

Oh, well, do you do well, do you want me to further explore questions from the that are based on the intro?

Timothy

You it's your choice. You you can press in and uh, you know, I can go whoa whoa whoa, Jacob. So that's up to you.

Jacob

Uh well, I think uh well that you asked me the question. So I mean people will probably pe some people would have uh questions w after watching the intro video.

Timothy

Oh well, go for it then. Uh don't don't be too timid. Okay. I mean, I just I can always just tell you, ah, shut up, go away, or whatever.

Jacob

So uh why are you not a pastor now? Well that one's easy to answer. Uh nobody wants me. Okay, yeah. Well, but I but I'm just people if someone saw just that video, they would, you know what I mean, they would have questions like that. Um which I know but you know what I mean. But that's why I think even in the intro, you pretty much like if you you even said like if you want to know more, go read stuff on the consider podcast or you know, go look at stuff on EdomClaw.com.

Timothy

Well, the the there's a couple reasons for it, and I gave a quick answer. Hey, who wants me? Sure. It's just not I'm not valuable to them at all. The other thing, too, is obviously, and this is a little bit deeper, it's just God's will right now. Um a door could open tomorrow or or never again. I'm I'm content to be wherever God wants me to be. Um I don't if I point any more, then people are gonna think I'm thinking more myself than I am. But if you look through scripture, God takes his servants a lot of times and puts them off in desert situations or separate, it's to keep them separated from the corruption and all kinds of things. So all I can tell you is a little bit of a mystery, but then it's not a mystery. I mean, when I look at the condition of the church, I have people ask me to church, don't get me wrong, but I want to tell them it's like, no, you don't really want me. I mean, they want me to come join their church, which means but they have no idea what they're asking. Correct. And in terms of actually pastoring a church, nobody's ever listened to this message, came to me and said, Yeah, our church is really hungering and thirst for righteousness. Will you pastor the church? Yeah. I'm old enough now, I would have to actually be forced to do it by God. And what I mean by that is physically I'm not the same as I was when I was 20. So pastoring a church is serious, hard work. I mean, it it's a crushing thing. I don't know that I would have the strength or energy to do it, or if God would provide at that time, or the calling itself would enliven me to be more active. There's a lot of questions. Does that kind of answer your question but not answer the question?

Jacob

Uh yeah, it answers the question, but not answers the question.

Timothy

That's the best answer I can give you because it's the only one I

Standing Firm Through Love And Loss

Timothy

got.

Jacob

Okay, so if some people watch that intro video and you talk about the destruction that the state and the conspirator put you through, I think some people would say, well, then like how did you stand firm? Like, how did you do it? When when a lot of other people, right? There's many a stories of someone receiving, and I I I'm not trying to put you on the same, you know, as other like cases, but but it's the government has destroyed people before, you know what I mean? Lies have been told in court before, and a lot of people, you know, kind of roll over, play dead, move on with their life, put it past them. So, how did you stand firm through all of this? I think people would be, you know, huh? Well, how How did he do it or what did he do?

Timothy

The answer is love. Um love is stronger than death. By all the things God has brought me through, and in order to get that kind of love, there has to be obedience. And that's gonna sound like I'm saying I'm superior. I'm just those are the facts. Over the six decades of following God and all of the pain and suffering, I was obedient. I I certainly stumbled like that, I was crude through it, but just like the apostles, I kept following. And as I followed him, I fell in love with him. So by the by the time King County prosecutors and the you'll notice in the trial, if anybody's wanting to try, it was a literal attack on the church. You couldn't have got more personal. You were attacking my love for Jesus Christ. This became not a matter of Malcolm, it didn't become a matter of the church, it didn't become a matter of works in town. You were attacking not just my first love, but my only love. You could not have picked a more crucial, man, the words are escaping more solid thing to attack. If of all the things that you attack, that's the thing you do not attack. So how did I stand firm? Well, truth be told, how could I not stand firm? By the time you're you're in love with Jesus Christ, by the time you you you love him, and I keep repeating you can't fall. It's really because the love is too great. That answer your question?

Jacob

Yeah. But people won't get it.

Timothy

No. So if I had if you want to bring it together, how did I stand by falling in love with Jesus Christ? And scripture says love builds up. Well, how do you get to a place where love builds up? Well, the first thing you have to do is surrender to the Word of God as the Word of God speaks, period. You have to allow God to crucify you, to put you through the painful suffering. Self gets crucified. And the more self gets crucified, the more selfishness gets crucified, and the more you begin to have a selfless love for Jesus Christ. And as the world and and for now, one example is God teaches me to hate and despise money. What do you fall in love with? You fall in love with the God who provides. Unless you're just selfish, unless you're just, you know, like the ten lepers just taking God, or the nine lepers taking God for what he can give you, or the multitude that are following Jesus Christ, they fall away. They leave because they don't get from Jesus. So how do you fall in love with Jesus Christ? By surrendering and giving up everything as he presses in so that there is no benefit to you in any of this, and that all that is left at the end of the day is a love for Jesus Christ. The book of Job is a classic example of that. What is God doing decades and decades and decades of stripping everything away so that when you look at it at the end of it, and even at the end of it, he's being thoroughly rebuked, you can tell what is holding Job there? What is keeping Job among all the rebukes after the years of suffering and the decades and losing of everything? Not the hope of being blessed, not the hope of a new family, because he didn't have anything. All that was left was the whole world was stripped from him, all the sufferings that Satan was permitted to bring. So what was really left at the end of the day between Job and God? Job literally just trusted God, which is another way of saying he was in love with God. It is saying no matter what God does, no matter what man does, no matter what comes my way, no matter what sins I have, no matter what God brings in terms of conviction, no matter what the word says that contradicts, no matter what anything else, it is a first love, it is an only love. And as I've repeated, Ecclesiastes or scripture says, love is stronger than death. So another way to put that with the New Testament is love is stronger than death to self. Yeah. I don't deny myself to go to heaven. There's not that's not even there. Yeah. It's a mystery, it's a harvest of righteousness. Um I'll stop there because I'll have I'd have to get more personal about it. But that's how I stood. Anything else? Does that answer your question? Or not answer?

Jacob

That that answers the question. Um, I think if I was a viewer watching that video, you know, the intro for like the first time, I think some people would might ask the question, why you never remarried? Because in the video, you know, it's expounded upon that uh your wife died, you've only been married once, you've never been divorced, and that you're still single. And then I think some people would be like, Well, you know, why are you telling us all this information? Why haven't you remarried? Which is what most people do.

Timothy

Again, I'm laughing at the question. Um, what woman would want me? I that that's that's a quick, solid answer, but the real answer, God just hasn't brought that about, it's just not in the equation. Uh, most people, most men, when they're widowed, marry within, I think the stats are like two years. I mean, I I could be wrong in the stats, who cares? But most of the time they marry. Yeah. Um, so and this is a little personal, obviously. Did I want to marry? Yes. Sure. Who who that man was not meant to be alone. So there is that flesh, or in the spirit or whatever, you want someone to share those things with, but he hasn't worked it. And I certainly I haven't had any woman call me, contact me, or say, Yeah, I love this message, the message of the cross, and and gets it and says, I want to be a part of it. Does she have to even accept this message? No. So there's a multiple way of answering this. One, God has not presented it, but that that's not like to say, oh, well, gee, I don't suffer with being alone at times or would desire to be married. And of course, now I'm old enough now, it's like way uh I'm way past my prime. Yeah. So it doesn't really enter into my mind at this point. Back when my wife died, it did. I was still young enough, things, you know, um robust enough to be able to be in a relationship. But again, these things now I'm entering the stage of my life where eventually, eventually, those who imagine the worst, the worst will happen. I mean, eventually I will die. Uh you know, so oh, we were right all along. Yeah, you were right all along. I'm going to die. I'm human. Yeah. Um no major diseases, nothing going like that. So who knows? They they may get their wish and I get leprosy or whatever, that kind of routine, or I could just flop over with a heart attack and they'd be thoroughly disappointed because the worst would be just a heart attack. Um, so I thought that's probably more than answers your question. And it's just another example. If you push me enough, I'll give more information than I want to.

Jacob

Sure. No, and I'm not looking to push, I'm just exploring. I think people who watch the video would have these sort of kind of questions. That's all.

Timothy

Go forward. Um, right now, I'd have to say uh by this stage, now I've wrestled through the desire to be married, and I am like Paul, I am very, very content to be single. Yeah. And just serve the Lord. It's better to be single. Now, I say that with a lot of hesitation, meaning if God presented the situation, then my heart would totally flip. See, one of the things that goes on is Proverbs says to guard your heart. So there's a there's a huge wall or protection there in my heart. I'm not just gonna, just because my flesh says, yeah, yeah, you'd like to be married, I'm not gonna attack on God, I'm not gonna attack on prayer. Scripture says not to look for a wife. You know, so you wrestle through the cross that desires to be married to the point that you don't want to be married. That's what the resurrected life is. Jesus went into the garden, he wrestled with his flesh, and then once he had wrestled with his flesh, what did he say? Here comes my betrayer, let's get this done, let's go for it. So that's true with any sin. If you want to overcome sin in small ways, you have to go from the conviction to I don't want to give this up. Be honest, I don't want to give up my sin. And that comes out in a hundred different ways every day. And the way that you grow in Jesus Christ is you enter the Garden of Gethsemane, you suffer it out. You suffer it out. I need to repeat that to the point that you have surrendered and you got to pray if necessary to drop some blood, wrestled out. There was a lot of wrestling in prayer and hurting and grieving and grunting before God. So don't get the idea this is just some simple checklist. You got to get rid of your checklist. Let me tell you that right away. And then once that, once that's why Jesus said, if you fall to the ground and die, you produce many seeds. So eventually I get to a place, let's just say with the marriage thing, I've fallen to the ground, I've given that up, I've died to that. So it's no longer a factor, it's no longer in the way. And then, okay, fine. I'm gonna be single, not a problem, wrestle through my flesh, get up, get out of the garden, and get on with going more and more toward the cross where Jesus Christ wants me to go. If somewhere along the way he then he comes along and says, get married, that's a different story, then that until that time my heart is protected by every means possible because I'm in love with him. That more than answer your question?

SPEAKER_08

That answers the question.

Timothy

Certainly would save a lot of marriaging counseling out there, wouldn't it? If everybody, you know, first Corinthians says those who have wives should live as they have none. Can you can you imagine, Jacob? I'm getting married and I'm getting to write the vows, right? Do you so-and-so uh promise to live as though put up with a husband who lives as though he's not married?

Jacob

Oh, yeah, yeah. If you yeah, if we did like the biblical example in the vows, yeah.

Timothy

Correct. I'd I'd be ran out of the church and it would take a very, very special woman in Jesus Christ. And she doesn't have to be there, but she has to be willing to hunger and thirst for righteousness. Um Correct.

Jacob

You don't want to, you're you're not gonna compromise too. Like, you know, I think a lot of a well, a lot of men obviously aren't men, but you know everybody will roll over and compromise to make the woman happy, but like, especially in regards to the gospel, you're like, well, I'm not gonna, you know, compromise on things just to get married, you know, just to win over some woman.

Timothy

Oh, uh I'm joking on that. Why would I ever do that?

Jacob

I know, but I'm just but that's what the world does. That's even what people do in Christian circles, right? Like if you if somebody else, you know what I mean, in order because the desire to get married, you know, they compromise other things in life because they want to be married.

Timothy

And let me balance this out. It would be picking up a cross in a different way because on the one hand, you're supposed to live as though you're not married, correct? Correct. Yet the woman, by the grace of God and the love of Jesus Christ, I would be loving her like the song of Solomon. So how do you put those two together? How do you live as though you're not married? How do you put together like, um, yeah, I need to act like I'm not married, but then when you read Song of Solomon, what do you find? You find a beautiful, loving relationship coming together in all kinds of um gushy words, right? Correct. In life and seeking each other. Well, how do you put those together? I don't. I would let the Holy Spirit put those together. So this, don't anybody get the idea this is some cold, dry kind of thing. Oh, I'm happy, you know, and when we would just sit in the corner and fix me a sandwich and we'll call it even. No, no, no, no, no. It would be the richest of love shown to a woman. It would be a song of Solomon, selfless love full of whatever passions and depth, because it's the love of Jesus Christ. But it would come through Jesus Christ. That why that's why Paul says, I'm not writing this to you to restrict you. In fact, once you give up the self that is interested in being married, uh which really comes out to more like lust and getting, in fact, there's an old saying, somebody was telling me that men supposedly my age are looking for a nurse or a purse. That was the word. Well, I'm looking neither for a nurse or for a purse. So it would be it would be a rich thing full of love, but there would be the offense of the cross at the same time. Um and there's no predicting how that would come out.

Jacob

Sure. Yeah.

Timothy

Marriage 101. All right.

Jacob

Any other any other questions or anything? No, I don't think so. Those were just some some generic ones, you know, as I'm watching the video that people might want to know.

Timothy

Oh, I know. I appreciate that. Yeah. Um, it helps to glorify God and to talk about the actual joy and freedom in Jesus Christ to be able to rest and do things. Um, okay, back to John 119. Uh, let's just condense it. My main point here is everybody wanted to know who John was. Yes. You know, it's like, well, who's Timothy Williams? And I've had this for years, uh, decades, decades. Who are you? What do you do? And they're never happy with the answer. Now, your questions are all good. That's not my point. The point is they're looking to trap. And what's your message? And who do you think you are? And what are you doing? That's my point. And that that's all they kept coming to John. Are you a prophet? And if not, why are you doing this? And John would say, Well, I baptize with water. This is what I do. Um, and I'm gonna point you to Jesus Christ. And they're just never happy with that. So there are people out there that will never ever be happy unless I state something they want to hear, for which then they can condemn me for. Yes. Make sense?

Jacob

Yep, we call them haters.

Timothy

Haters, offense of the they uh they are uh enemies of the cross of Jesus Christ, Paul will say with tears. Yeah. We're getting short on timey. Anything else, Jacob? No. Okay. Let's go to 1 John chapter 3, verse 16, and on the way, I'm going to quote 1 Corinthians 3, 7, where Paul says, Neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but it's only God who makes things grow. It's not important who Timothy is. I'm not trying to find a church. I'm not trying to fellowship with anybody. In fact, you can believe whatever you want to believe about me. All right. And you can say, oh, you know, he doesn't live any of that. Fine. But you have to live it. What I'm saying is true. So, I mean, the best way to understand whether what I if I'm of God or not is you go out and live this and find out what happens to you. Everything that I'm saying will happen to you, and maybe even more. The main point is 1 Corinthians 3, 7, so neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who makes things grow. There is that sense of in preaching and what's going on that you know, one person says I follow Apollos, another says I follow Paul, and Paul is saying, look, we're just men. And and that's what the intro is trying to communicate that I'm nothing. Literally nothing. It's only God who does it, who makes things grow. Now, that's not so true out there with cultural Christianity, with all the marketing going on and things happening out there. In fact, Jacob, tack on the very end of this chapter two of Insanity in the Church, which kind of goes into more detail with all that stuff.

Jacob

Okay.

Timothy

All right. First John chapter 3, verse 16. Go ahead and read that one, Jacob.

Jacob

This is how we know what love is. Jesus Christ laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

Timothy

This is just not seen in the church. I mean, the scripture may be read in the church, but it's not seen in the church. I'm willing to lay down my life for other. I mean, I i i everything that we went through and we just talked about Jacob, did I not prove that I did not betray and I will not leave and I will lay down my life. I I stack stuck by a man falsely accused when 99.9% of everybody in the world, the minute somebody is falsely accused or just accused, they immediately dump them and go away from them, correct? Correct. Absolutely correct. Um that's why King County prosecutors assumed I was the worst. Sure. Because whatever. I let's leave them behind. They're just bad people that need to repent. Um okay, so the love of most are going to grow cold.

Jacob

Yes, everybody, even that's every anytime there's like allegations and all that, everybody just tries to distance themselves from the situation, you know, what sweeping it under the rug. You just wanna you want to get away from it as fast as they can. Everybody will just ditch everybody.

Timothy

Yep, they want to preserve their life. Yeah. And the only reason I bring that up is because that's not to say, you know, somebody were actually guilty. I still would stand by them getting them to confess their guilt. Sure. Um, so either way, what happens is people run out to save themselves to get away as far as possible. They certainly don't engage the legal system um and all of its hypocrisy to do that. And if you're not willing to do that, then you're not willing to lay down your life for your brothers and sisters. And that's not to justify the sins or whatever goes on in the church, but it's to say at the same time, I rebuke it and bring it out. Um, in fact, I would encourage the person to confess their sin, to pay the legal penalty, and to go on in truth and hope that they would repent. Any c questions or comments? Because we're like running out of time here, Jacob. No. All right, Matthew chapter 24, verse 10. At that time, many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other. My life has been a small taste of what is to come. And I can assure you the church is not ready for this. The the the gut-wrenching betrayal that takes place will be one of the severe disciplines that drives you to weakness, to tears, to lame feet and feeble arms and so on. At that time, many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other. Yeah, it's one thing just to turn your back on Jesus, but it's quite another thing that what gets replaced in that betrayal is hatred. And we we need to contemplate the church is not contemplating and sitting in the pews, and and and again, we don't have time to get into it, but it's like, okay, then how do I continue to love brothers and sisters in the Lord who may betray and hate me later? How do you make yourself vulnerable? Well, those are part of the sufferings of Jesus Christ. That is, you're hanging on the cross, everybody's deserting you, everything is going down, you're suffering, people are being mocked. So how do I confess my sin, walk with other people? How even now am I not bitter, Jacob? How is it even now I'm willing to lay down my life for another person to come along and say, I want a fellowship, I want to lay down my life, I want to be walking with you together, following the Lord with all my heart, all my mind, and all my soul. Would I not under normal circumstances go, Well, I don't trust you. There's no way I'm doing this again. I know what's going to happen. I'm going to say something, the cross is going to get too heavy. You're going to hate my gust. You're going to turn on me, you're going to take and slander me, just like everybody else has done.

Jacob

Oh, yeah, yeah. Like, how are you? How are you not bitter and jaded? Well, the answer is still the one you gave earlier, which is love for Jesus Christ.

Timothy

Correct. Love hopes all things. And you have to be willing

Insanity In The Church Exposed

Timothy

to pay the price to be used, abused, and taken advantage of if you're going to love as Jesus loved. Take us out of here, Jacob.

Insanity in the Church by Timothy Williams. Read by a professional reader. The Consider Podcast. Ecclesiastes chapter 1, verse 17. Examining today's wisdom, folly, and madness. www.consider.info. Chapter 2. Insanity. Are they servants of Christ? I am out of my mind to talk like this. I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. Second Corinthians chapter 11, verse 23. I am Reverend Pastor Proudhon Dr. Worldly An Indemand Speaker, a dynamic leader, a pastor's pastor, bishop, deacon, revivalist, psalmist, a Bible thumper, a miracle worker, nationally and internationally known, a very reverent false humility, a powerful declarer of God's word, anointed to bless you, a lover of God, a marriage counselor, able to slay others in the spirit, able to cast out demons, recommended by big Whigs in the church, a winner of the Dove Awards. I have taken a stand for the truth, baptized thousands, visited the Holy Land, studied the Greek and Hebrew, and binding and loosing for years, dreams and visions from God, the gift of tongues, a PhD and other initials after my name, authored many books, been serving the Lord for over twenty years, won numerous writing awards. My church has thousands in attendance, inspiring worship, a new sanctuary, God's blessings, changed thousands of lives, the Holy Ghost moving through us, a cult busting group, four square gospel calls, a lively choir is featured in a major magazine, positive, relevant Bible teaching, a passion for Jesus, lasting friendships, impartation of revival fire, a friendly congregation who want to share God's love, great food, and fun. Our ministry has exposed the Mormons, been featured in magazines and on TV, jam-packed revival meetings, dynamic healings, a place for children, youth, men, women, singles and seniors, Christian counseling, a wonderful nursery and daycare, working mothers ministry, fresh contemporary music, strong youth ministry, divorce support groups, young married ministry, tanning on the beach, softball, volleyball, and more, music, art and drama. My church is charismatic, traditional, contemporary, Christ centered, Bible based, a fivefold ministry, growing, new believers added every Sunday. Paul declares himself insane when forced to boast as the world does, but we have fallen in love with the insanity in the church. I am out of my mind to talk like this. Second Corinthians chapter eleven verse twenty three. Today we consider insanity to be sane. Everything has been turned around in the church today because we have lost the message of the cross. There remains only one I am. No one is worth boasting about but God. Pick up a copy of your phone book and look under churches, and you will find insanity on every page, fully displayed in all of its shameful glory. Thumb through any Christian magazine and read the boasting, bragging, and appealing to the flesh. The church has forsaken the message of the cross, and embraced the self confidence of the world. Like the world, the church competes with other churches to win members and to make an impact in people's lives. Indeed, despite the talk about the Holy Spirit, the church relies more and more on the methods of the world to win souls for Christ. We have all but abandoned the cross that wins souls through weakness and humility. As we shall see, we consider the man or church that embraces the cross crazy, while we hold up the truly insane. In the last days, unparalleled hostility rages against the message of the cross, because the church uses the arm of the flesh to serve Jesus. We consider the real prophet, moved of God a fool, and the inspired man a maniac. The days of punishment are coming, the days of reckoning are at hand. Let Israel know this, because your sins are so many and your hostility so great, the prophet is considered a fool, the inspired man a maniac. Hosea chapter nine verse seven. Foolishness As Paul so sarcastically writes in the passage we will look at, you gladly put up with fools since you are so wise. How spiritual each church considers itself and yet they put up with fools. Each bookstore considers itself a ministry, while they sell the products of madmen. Each publisher thinks it serves the Christian community while using insane, worldly means to promote its products. How spiritually blind to think we can use the world's techniques, ideas, and insanity to sell our goods, and yet believe we remain separate from the world. Again, ministries, seminars, bookstores, publishers, musicians, and churches gladly put up with fools. How we love to be taken advantage of by men who push themselves forward on us. After all, if they can promote themselves, so can we. It makes our flesh feel good to have the same freedom. The church doesn't want to pause in its midst, who doesn't preach or promote himself, but instead reminds us that we must die to self. Christians think of themselves as so wise, yet they like being slapped in the face. If we can get ten percent off our purchases, if men can boast of themselves, if ministries can name themselves after their favorite pastor, we take the slap. We gladly say, Thanks for taking advantage of us, thanks for the insanity. It makes us feel good about our out of mind experiences. I repeat, let no one take me for a fool, but if you do, then receive me just as you would a fool, so that I may do a little boasting. In this self confident boasting I am not talking as the Lord would, but as a fool. Since many are boasting in the way the world does, I too will boast. You gladly put up with fools since you are so wise. In fact, you even put up with anyone who enslaves you, or exploits you or takes advantage of you, or pushes himself forward, or slaps you in the face. To my shame, I admit that we were too weak for that. What anyone else dares to boast about, I am speaking as a fool. I also dare to boast about Second Corinthians chapter eleven verses sixteen through twenty one. Fools preach, while boasting of how spiritual, educated, and anointed they are in God, and audiences of millions gladly put up with fools, since they think themselves so spiritually wise and gifted. Story after story resounds from the pulpit, and we think this glorifies God. Instead of preaching the word, we use it to tell jokes, stories, and entertain the congregation. Men tell us they can fathom the Greek and Hebrew, that they are anointed of God, and we like dumb sheep think such conduct glorifies Christ. Churches boast of how many they have reached with the gospel, and we reach for our checkbooks. The church has lost its mind thinking this is sane talk in Jesus. But Paul stated that all such boasting is sinful, utterly wicked. As you read the following excerpts from Second Corinthians chapter eleven, verses twenty one through twenty nine, contrast Paul's insane talk with what happens in your church. This is the talk of fools, Paul shouts. I am a Hebrew, I am an Israelite. I am Abraham's descendant. I am a servant of God. I work harder, I have been in prison, I have been flogged, I have been exposed to death repeatedly. Five times I was lashed, three times I was beaten. I was stoned once. Three times I was shipwrecked, spending a night and day in the open sea. I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, I have been in danger from bandits, I have been in danger from my own countrymen. I have been in danger in the city, I have been in danger in the country, I have been in danger at sea, I have been in danger from false brothers, I have labored and toiled, I have often gone without sleep. I have known hunger and thirst, gone without food and water. I have been cold and naked, plus I have started many churches I worry about, and boy oh boy, do I struggle against sin. Paul says that such boasting makes him a lunatic. For you see, we are unworthy to talk about ourselves or point to ourselves. If even Jesus said he was not good, but God alone, why do we boast as if we are something? When we take on the I am, we seek to remove God from his throne. Like Satan, we seek to set ourselves equal with God to bring all attention to ourselves. Just a quick look at the work in the church makes it easy to see the spirit of Satan. Men work for recognition and to make a name for themselves. Reward on earth You might disagree with everything else in this book, but know this, the I am is a position for God alone in all glory. Honor and attention belongs to him. The powerful delusion inflames, stealing the glory from God and receiving it for oneself. Therefore, God uses Satan to send the powerful delusion. Who else knows how to worship self better than Satan? Satan in all his spirituality resided next to God's throne. He presents a perfect counterfeit to the message of the cross without actually requiring anyone to die to self. Satan weaves a doctrine so close to the truth that the only way to survive is to fall in love with God, and that is exactly what God looks for, those who love him with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength. Men play a deadly game in Jesus. They look like they have him in their life, but really find their life in this world. They receive their reward in the here and now. Therefore they will have no reward in heaven. We must pray with the Psalmist that God save us from such men, from men of this world whose reward is in this life, if we hope to escape the powerful delusion, men who try to have Jesus and the world. O Lord, by your hand save me from such men, from men of this world whose reward is in this life. Psalms seventeen verse fourteen. With each passing day, the church becomes increasingly insane as each church attempts to outdo the other churches' boastings. Pulpit after pulpit hosts drooling madmen, telling more grandiose stories each Sunday. Joke after joke, story after story fills the stages of our churches because like the world, we enjoy drawing attention to ourselves. We have fallen so far from the suffering cross of Christ in our churches that we cannot boast of sufferings. We must entertain with positive uplifting tales. Yet, Paul declares himself a madman when he talks of the labors he accomplished, dangers he faced, and things he sacrificed. Paul claims insanity when he points to how he wrestles with sin. We, however, are more insane today, boasting of the blessings we receive. Paul declares that he is insane to speak of anything but his weaknesses. Are they servants of Christ? I am out of my mind to talk like this. Yet we seem bent on promoting our churches' books, magazines, sermons, and men, just as the world does. The madness spreads. Truly, the church loves its insanity so much that like the worst mentally insane, the most powerful drugs cannot stop it. We have lost sight of the cross of Christ and embraced the madness of the world. The mental illness of the world infects us. We are in a world gone mad that boasts of itself, works, labors, wisdom, accomplishments, powers, and promises. We are even worse than the world for we boast like Macdonald's used to do. We boast of number served and saved, like madmen. We seek to spread our madness, hoping others believe our sickness. We boast of the number of books sold in order to sell more books, so that we can boast of even more numbers sold in order to sell even more books. We no longer measure books by the truth they contain, but by what will sell. I have never met a publisher who will print a book unless they know it will sell. None have ever said, This book will not sell, but we will print it anyway, because it has the truth in it. The love of money, reputation, and worldly marketing infests the heart of the church. Like the black plague, only a few are exempt from its deadly work. Even the most conservative will reject the offense of the cross if it comes in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. My first book entitled Hating for Jesus, Luke chapter 14, verse 26, which merely quoted the words of Jesus, was repeatedly rejected by magazines, bookstores, and people because of the title. No one could get past the title to read the message. Even the most conservative organizations of the Christian community who pride themselves on not being like the other groups. Naturally, like Paul, this forced us to change the name of the book to The Essential Peace. Promoting Self. We promise powerful preachers to draw the crowds and increase attendance so we can use those numbers to draw even more people to our gospel meetings and churches. We plaster our magazines with ads pointing back to ourselves and what God has done through us. Indeed, look at what the church shows the world. Look at the boasting, bragging, and promising that scream out everywhere. Like the world, we advertise and appeal to the flesh of man in order to win souls. Just as the world, we use others to promote ourselves. Yet instead of just using men and women whom God has made, we use the name of God. I say, just because who is worse? The one who uses self to promote himself or the one who uses God to promote himself? Like the world, we use big names to promote and push forward our ministries, materials, and ourselves. We look to see pictures of ourselves on book covers, flyers, and advertisements. We want the Christian community to notice our churches and pastors because we want recognition for ourselves. After all, who looks for unschooled ordinary men to become their preachers and leaders? We want men who can boast PhDs to rattle off stories and entertain us because it makes us feel spiritual to be around them. We want men capable of waxing eloquently about the Greek and Hebrew, but who know nothing of hating their own lives. We only want to feel spiritual, not be spiritual. We remain unwilling to pay the price to be spiritual and suffer the pain of the cross, so we rejoice in the achievements of man. If someone were really humble and broken, knowing the holiness of God, why would they promote themselves as if they were something? Godly credentials. If someone actually presented a godly resume to a church, the vast majority would consider it a very strange item. I wrote a cross-centered resume, once stating my education and qualifications, and unschooled an ordinary man who spent time with Jesus. Acts chapter four verse thirteen. I listed my weaknesses, not my strengths, then sent it out to test the church's reaction. As you can well imagine, no job offers came in. I did, however, receive one response from a church in Canada. They were very nice, but declared that God didn't want them to change their ways, but wished me the best of luck. Earthly recommendations. Name dropping insanity fills the whole Christian community. Well known, popular individuals promote and endorse books, churches, speakers, and seminars. Like the world, the church uses celebrities to market itself. The publishing world is famous for this sin. Recommended by the book covers declare. Even the best of tough talking authors and preachers fall prey to this sin. But Paul's letters never stated. This letter is recommended by Peter. In fact, Paul states he did not resort to such worldly gimmicks to motivate individuals. He did not need like some people letters of recommendation. Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need like other people letters of recommendation to you or from you? Second Corinthians chapter three, verse one. What sin lies in the lap of the church that we love to get and send letters of recommendations? We love to get a special speaker to our conference because it will draw in more people and give us good standing in the community. How we use each other in the name of the Lord. The popular individual uses the conference that needs them, while the conference leader uses the speaker to make themselves needed by the Christian community. If we really lifted up the word of God, then why mention any big name speakers? Should not the attraction be the word of God and not the man preaching the word? Should people be promoted as if they were someone big and powerful in the Christian community? The bottom line is we use people and enjoy being used. We love lifting up our name and use Jesus to do it. For this reason, many ministries name themselves after the person who runs the ministry, for if we preach ourselves, men will come, but few show up when we really preach truth. Jesus said we accept him who comes in his own name, because we want ourselves promoted and accepted by others. It is the sin of self glorification. I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me, but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. John chapter five verse forty three. We borrow the glory we give certain individuals to sell books, promote seminars, and build churches. It is an abominable sin to use others' talents and popularity for our own selfish ends. Woe unto us for the many things we promote by the sin of recommendation. Come here or see this speaker. Buy this book because so and so likes it. It seems there is no end to this insanity. We lift men up in the church not because of what God does, but for what these men can do for us. If we really believe God works, we would not lift up men or women but just depend on God to draw people. Individuals, companies, and churches feed off and use the righteousness of others to serve themselves. We need full repentance of this selfish sin, indeed. If true humility filled these popular individuals, they would not allow themselves to be used like that. Each man tries to top the other in order to impress people. We are self important madmen wanting to hear other self important madmen puff us up in self righteous pride. Sane men in Jesus boast of their weaknesses. Paul declares if we must boast, we should only boast of our weaknesses. Instead, we love our super apostles. But I do not think I am in the least inferior to those super apostles. Second Corinthians chapter eleven, verse five. A different gospel. The powerful delusion presents a totally different spirit than the spirit of Jesus. Jesus came forsaking self, yet the church finds itself. Jesus would not even let the demons identify him. John the Baptist would not call himself a prophet, yet we boast and brag. Jesus lost self in the glory of God, but we use the glory of God to promote ourselves. We are not pure virgins because we love and embrace those who commend themselves and use others to promote ourselves. Eve fell prey to the sin in the Garden of Eden. Satan cleverly worked a deadly cunning in the church. God permits this because we no longer glory in the cross of Christ. Our minds have been led astray to vain thoughts and promotions of self. We not only put up with insane people in Jesus, we love them and embrace them as brothers. We call madmen our brothers and ask God to bless our insane asylums known as churches. But let him who boasts boast in the Lord, for it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. I hope you will put up with a little of my foolishness, but you are already doing that. I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough. Second Corinthians ten verse seventeen through chapter eleven verse four. We have grown so used to the different gospel that the true gospel is met without right hostility or apathy. The serpent has worked in a very cunning deception by offering us all a different spirit than the cross of Christ. The main objective of the church is, will it be acceptable? And will people buy it? I can't begin to count the numbers of times I have been told that if I don't tone it down, people People will not listen. Did you know that the music industry pays false prophets to listen to songs and make sure they offend no one? And rest assured, the book publishing business has the same insanity. The church wants to make sure that the music, books, and sermons it promotes will not offend anyone, or at least not too much. Anyone can build a good reputation in the church if they preach just tough enough to be a little offensive without actually crucifying the flesh. Preach half a tough message and you will be as popular as the false prophets because many people like a tough message. It makes them feel spiritual. Preach a tough message that doesn't actually strike itself with the hammer and nails, and you will be accepted by the church and heralded as a godly man. Unfortunately, most of us can no longer discern a man acting like a fool in the name of God because we do not crucify by the power of the Holy Spirit our insanity. Until the cross has done the work in us, we cannot honestly see that we are nothing. Paul understood this worthlessness, so why should we boast about anything? Most of us, while giving lip service to humility, know little of the fact that we are nothing. We have refused and rejected the cross when it comes to humble us, so our knowledge of humility is only one of a mocker who mimics humble sounding words. I have made a fool of myself, but you drove me to it. I ought to have been commended by you, for I am not in the least inferior to the super apostles, even though I am nothing. Second Corinthians chapter twelve verse eleven. In our own name. We use revival to sell our name and promote our churches. In fact, you can buy revival music CDs from false revivals. They insanely advertise just as the world does, selling their merchandise. Their literature promotes their churches and themselves. Jesus did not accept praise from men, and neither would we if we had his mind. Instead, we come in our own name and prove we do not have the love of God in our hearts. Sadly, if someone really comes in the name of the Lord, we do not accept him because he does not feed our flesh. Let a man come to us in his name, using Jesus to promote himself, and we accept that with open arms and praying hands. If someone comes with purity, only lifting Jesus up, the church will not accept that, because they sense that they will have to lose all pride and attention for self. Ask yourself who you accept as godly to test how entrenched you are in the powerful delusion. Who do you accept and like the most? The superapostles or the Pauls who know the cross. Yet you refuse to come to me to have life. I do not accept praise from men, but I know you, I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me, but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. John chapter five verses forty through forty three. The powerful delusion consists of men coming in their own names, let loose and encouraged by the power of God. It is such a powerful delusion. Few have the slightest clue that God works judgment in their life, ministry, and church. It seems to them as if God opens doors for their ministry, circumstances fall into place, blessings of peace and supply come, but only because God works a powerful delusion. What self-centeredness lingers in preachers' hearts to name their ministries after themselves? I would be totally out of my mind to name this ministry. Timothy Williams Ministries, or to entitle our website www.timotywilliams.org. What lunacy settles upon the body of Christ, yet even the tough talking, righteous preachers fall prey to this insanity. Few and far between are the preachers who in heart and spirit do not preach themselves. So few men have the character of Jesus, humble enough to admit they are humble without becoming puffed up in that declaration. Such humility comes only from the mysterious power of the cross. Paul had such humility, for we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as our servants for Jesus' sake. Second Corinthians chapter four verse five. In weakness. In true humility, the fruit of a crucified life points out only things that show others our weaknesses. Sane men in Jesus speak of weak things that happen in their church and lives. But since we view insanity as normal in the church today, we consider the sane man a fool. It is one more sign that the church stands ripe for judgment. Until we return to the Holy Spirit inspired, message of the cross, having our sinful flesh crucified, the truly inspired man of God will be considered a maniac, while the true lunatic embraced as a sane man. Let us pick up the cross Jesus has for us, and sane men will once again fill our pulpits. If we must boast, it should be only of our weaknesses. If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. Second Corinthians chapter eleven thirty. Of all the things Paul could have boasted of, he chose to talk about a basket escape. The church is no longer interested in men who tell tales about a man lowered in a basket. Listen to the story Paul tells when forced to boast. He does not talk of raising the dead, numbers healed, credentials, inspiring sermons preached, dreams or visions. The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, who is to be praised forever, knows that I am not lying. In Damascus, the governor under King Eratus had the city of the Damascenees guarded in order to arrest me, but I was lowered in a basket from a window in the wall and slipped through his hands. Second Corinthians chapter eleven verses thirty one through thirty three. Do you get the picture? Imagine your church in the middle of an exciting seminar with many guest speakers. Speaker after speaker declares what God does through them and their ministries. Then up steps Paul to the pulpit. He doesn't speak of miracles, insight, visions, numbers reached, or even his special calling by God. His speech goes something like this. Greetings, brothers and sisters. Amen and hallelujahs are heard. I want to tell you how special God is. Preach it, brother. Once when God led me to preach in Damascus, he worked a mighty deliverance. More amens. This is what God did. A quiet settles over the congregation. I was trapped in the city and men were seeking to kill me. The drummer gets ready, and God rescued me. Breathless silence fills the church. God allowed me to escape by getting in a basket and being lowered over the city wall. At this point, the drummer puts down the drumsticks at this boring story. While the congregation would politely say, Praise God, they would never invite this dull speaker to their church again because they thought him boring and ineffective. Recognizing insanity. As the old top ten song goes, They're coming to take me away, haha he he ho, to the funny farm, they're coming to take me away. No one in the church comes to take away insane leaders and put them in straitjackets. It reminds me of my college days when the world tutored me in its wisdom. While earning the foolishness of a degree in psychology, I learned of a case study concerning insane asylums. In this study, a group of psychology students checked themselves into the asylum to see if the staff of psychologists and psychiatrists could discover that they were really sane. The staff could not detect the students, but the patients in the institution saw through the students. All the great wisdom of the staff provided no insight to distinguish the sane from the insane. Only those who understood their own mental illness could recognize those who had nothing wrong. In the same way, those who love God must come to see their own insanity in order to discern the sane in God. The cure for insanity in the church is to honestly admit what areas of our flesh are drawn to insane men. Only the cross of Christ, crucifying a man, can help us see that reality. We must allow the cross of Christ to crucify our thoughts and flesh in order to be sane in Jesus. In order to connect to the head, who is Jesus, our own heads must die. After all, no body has two brains ruling it. That would be utter chaos and insanity. Exactly the point of Colossians two verse nineteen. He has lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. Colossians two verse nineteen. When we lose connection with the head, the church begins to behave in ways that reflect man's insanity rather than the humility of Christ. Only as we allow the mind of Christ to rule us, will the church become sane again. God lays a clear choice before us. Either we learn to hate our thoughts or continue to fellowship with the insane. We must come before the Lord telling him we hate our way of thinking. He must allow a crown of thorns to torment our thoughts so that we loathe them and come to wince at our opinions. If we want to possess the mind of Christ, which is one of true righteousness, then we must fall in humility before the Lord and admit we have behaved like insane men. Like patients in the mental institution, we must humble ourselves and admit our insanity before we can see who and what constitutes sanity in Jesus. This is hard to do because going to church today resembles committing oneself to a mental institution, rather than entering a place of worship. The very people who are supposed to help us are more deluded than ourselves, for they use scripture to make self appear and feel spiritual. Everyone boasts of numbers saved, people reached, money tithed, and how spiritual their preachers are in the Lord. It is as if the mental patients all sit around and see who can top each other. The church has become a house full of insane individuals, boasting of their gifts, works, and labors for the Lord. This love of insanity in the church opens wide the door for all manner of arrogant and prideful men to rise up in the pulpits. We cannot even begin to start a work without first thinking of how we will promote it. Even the few good preachers and saints left today are beginning to question what little bit of sanity they have left. 4. If you hang around insane men long enough, you begin to doubt your sanity. After all, bad company corrupts good character. 1 Corinthians chapter 15, verse 33. Let us come out of the insane asylums and pick up our crosses.
