All right, you welcome back episode 36 of The Trilateral Podcast. Sad face for 100. How's it going? How's it going everyone? Bringing the sad news. Was rough. Started off pretty crazy having the ball for 10 minutes that first drive. I will say, I will say that first drive was some crazy shit, but also what this face looked like. He did say he did go to the sideline and threw up. He threw up in the sideline. But he looked at that. I was like, he never recovered from that first drive. Well, definitely the first huge. I got to like, during the first quarter, the first half he would probably not. Definitely not. Honestly, after that first drive, they should have had him come out the next drive and just brought the other guy in and throw the ball. Yeah, that was a crazy sequence. Look great. Look very promising. I was like, holy shit, nobody's really done that against the Ohio State defense like that. But you got to be able to do it consistently over four quarters, unfortunately. Yep. On this positive note, did you guys see, I don't know if any of you guys saw, I recently just saw this like tonight. The amount is like team to get paid for making it so far in the playoffs. Like, if you make it to the playoffs, you automatically make four million dollars to get paid four million dollars. And I think it's split the way they said it was like split between the conferences or something like that. Okay, you make it another way, make it another way, or the conference, or the way you're in the playoffs, make another four million. You win again, you make six million, and you make the national championship, you win six million. So it was only four stages of what it showed, but on a positive note or another day, another day is an independent school, it doesn't have a conference to share that money with. So no, no name walked away with 20 million dollars. You just say, dang, the rich gets richer. I was like, holy shit, they lost the national championship, but they just got a bag, 20 million, they don't have to split with nobody, that's fucking sick. So I wonder if that it's like, so think about it like this, it's like the big 10 has like had three teams, right? And playoffs was at four teams, three teams, right? Well, how state, Oregon, Penn State, am I forgetting one? Those three, so I think those three had to split the money, you know what I mean? I think, is that how it worked? I think that's how it worked. Even if the other two teams lose, the next team advances, they have to still, I think it's only for that. So like let's say, let's say three teams make it to the playoffs. I'm not, I'm just speculating what I thought it was. It was an Instagram post. I'm speculating here. So let's say three teams from your conference make the playoffs. You guys all four or all three will split four million. Then let's say one loses, but then two go under the next one. Then that those two teams, I guess, maybe would split another four million and then on and so on. Yeah. Technically Ohio State made, made was six million by themselves. Then since they, the only one that advanced obviously, so what they made like, so they had to split four million a couple of ways. But if two teams on both the big time, or the national championship, what they would have split that, yeah, that's wild. College of Paul once that day. Oh, yeah, they're still paying on matter. It doesn't matter. They're paying out the same money. So that's cool. Cool incentive to play for an older name, man. And think about that for the future for an older name. If they stay independent, and they're going to consistently be set up to be successful with this new playoffs structure, like they're always, as long as you guys don't lose more than, I would say depending on what losses are, like this year, if you guys are lost another game, you're fucked. If you lost the Northern, or those fucking, I don't even know their name, they're irrelevant. Max cool. What is the name? I know I kind of want to know what it is. Well, the Northern, Northern, okay. Yes. How are you? A second guessing myself. But bright future for an older name. The playoff structure is in your favor. All I'm saying is don't get down in the dumps about it. It would have been nice though to beat that fucking those buck eyes out of the nice until your face missed again. Not mean the first half it was a good game, it was not a good game, but then the second half they finally woke up and then they had some chances towards the end, but there's their defense just. Yeah. How is your boss finally done though? It felt like it dragged down for a while. So we see what they do next year if they change up the playoff structure at all. Let me vote. So this should be done on the first. So it would be nice. So it's not dry. I think it did drag on a little too long. So would that be the kids? No, it wouldn't be the case. Listen, here's a great idea. Don't let college football playoffs interfere with the NFL playoffs or overlap. Did it overlap those here? I don't think it did. Yeah, the national championship just fucking happened. We're in the talk. I thought you had the same day during the same game. No, I'm saying the one should end and the other one should start. Yeah, but they would have to do something. I don't think they're going to be able to do the way this playoff structure is. I could see them ending in the wildcard start. It started last week, two weeks ago. So that's the thing. The national championship could have been played a week earlier if they would have had people start playing during the Navy in an Army week. Because that was a week before. Yeah, but they got to have a break. Oh, no. Some teams have a two week break. Teams that don't play in the net are teams that don't play in the conference. A conference champion. How do you state? Yeah, they have a two week break. So, do you have a two week break? Then you play the first round. And then it's just you play every week after that. See, it's going to be interesting though. In the future, if they keep the structure the same, do you see? I don't see it happening. A team throwing the conference championship just because they want to win their conference obviously. But if they know they're going to get that by and see that as a potential threat, will they lose knowing that if they lose, they'll still get in the playoff, but they'll get the play right away. Why would you see a buy? I don't think teams see a buy as a threat. All four teams of the buy this year lost. I don't think that's coincidence. I think that I think they. I don't know if that's poor. I think they got to be more of the better. So preparation or Ohio State, Oregon matchup was still a shouldn't. Oregon definitely was not the better team. Not that game they weren't sure. It was just the other buy. There's no state in Texas. Yeah, one state. Air don't state was lucky to be there, bro. Yeah, but they still played the best. They played the best out of the 14. They were lucky to be there. What was the other one? SMU won their conference. Yeah, but they didn't have a buy. They didn't get a first round buy. Well, then I asked them, you had the buy. Who was the SMU got? Oh, boy Z. Boy Z. SMU got schmacked by fucking Penn State. Boy Z got the buy. And boy Z got schmacked by Penn State again. Boy Z had a great season. So I'm who is the other buy. Oh, George ahead of buy. So they got schmacked by it. So they'll be able to see if they keep it. If you win your conference, certain conferences that win get that buy. I thought it was given to the four best teams. Yeah, that's interesting. Hunter said that. What was it? So instead of giving it to like the first, the buy weeks don't get determined by who is the four best teams in the 12 man playoff based on schedule, difficulty of schedule and record those the top four teams get in the buys. So rather it being the based on just that doesn't base just on conference championship. It's the four best conference champions based on record and everything, but it is conference champions. That's how they granted it. I like you are. But in most cases and like you can, a greater degree, the best team probably is going to be the conference champion more than likely. Obviously, I wasn't this year when it came to the big time this year. It didn't happen to the big time, but this is something also this year. I wanted to put Arizona State would not have been in front of like Ohio State or Ohio State. I don't like how it's based just on your conference championship because there's so many better teams in the SEC. There's four or five teams in the SEC that are better than teams in the freaking Mountain West. I don't mind that Mountain West team still getting in, but they shouldn't get the first week by. You had the easy freaking, you had an easy schedule, but yeah, you maybe did good and you won your conference championship. I would agree with that. I would agree with that. You'd rather have a team that lost, say, Boise State had the one loss and won their conference, or would you rather, but then they get the first week by or Texas lose in the conference championship, but that was their first loss. And then they don't get the first week by who's, I think it's still their Texas. They're the way better team. If their schedule obviously was a lot harder and they played better team, that would make sense. That's why I think they should do it towards the four best teams, even if your conference championship. Yes, people like all that hurts the smaller schools. They're still getting in. They're still getting in and they could be the only school that made it from their conference. So they're getting a $4 million per person. They're still getting in. They're more likely not going to get the first unless they have a tough schedule. Boise could play five ranked teams that are really good and they beat them. And then I think they deserve, obviously, if they win their conference, they deserve to still get in that first week. But it's depending on their schedule. So if they have an EDS schedule all year and they don't play no one and they obviously all they win pretty much every game and they should get the first week by. You didn't play anyone. I would agree. I don't know. It's not that it's going to be the same situation. They're going to get that first week by and then a team like Penn State, the team like better team way better team than a coming after winning their first round, come and just beat them and they just destroy the first week by team. So. And there's some other matchups I think we could add. I think you'll make for better games if they get the four best teams separate the four best teams actually. And that's what they're trying to do is not put these crappier teams in the end. This is all television. This is all entertainment. Yeah, they want the views they want. Yeah, that's what they need to do is put teams together. Good teams on the opposite side of the brackets. Yeah. They play each other. They play each other really well. Or just good teams against other good teams. You know what I mean? Nope. And big matchups. That's what I want to see. Cool. Any early predictions? Any futures we think on the next national champion? I know I know. And let let Ohio State have their flowers. Sure, whatever. They're a little bit. But I don't give a shit to Ohio State. Ohio State. I'm losing everyone pretty much say that receiver or so. I'll give you guys my vote. UNC. He said UNC. Oh, Bill Bellicic. He said UNC. Oh, Bill Bellic. I was thinking. Bill Bellic. Bill Bellic technically hasn't signed the contract. He hasn't signed it. He's got the thing. He's the coach, but like he hasn't signed like his extension because they're thinking he's holding out and they're thinking that Brady is going to freaking contact him and he's going to go coach the Raiders because Raiders stuff higher. What's true? You see them? Yeah, Jets got the Jets. Yeah, I kind of believe it's true. Okay, okay. We'll pass up for the next episode because now you got me thinking because Bill Bellic check does good at UNC and actually signs that contract. That's a good one to pick. Honestly, I would love to see him just use UNC as leverage just so you can get back in the NFL and everyone to see how excited they are and then the Raiders like, you know what? We don't have any options to get Billic checked. I would love to have a little bit of Bill Bellic checked back in the NFL. Oh yeah. I would love to see him for the Raiders. I don't hate to pay treats too much anymore, you know? That's like old news. I'm on hate. No, I think everyone in the NFL hates KC right now. All right. Let's move on to some NFL shit. Like we kind of already are talking about. Let's talk before we talk about the shit moving on in the league right now. Let's talk about the new coaches, R.A.P. Lions, but off-mints and deepets, creator, go on. But you know what? Hey, Bill's kind of went through some coaches, changes under Sean McDermott, you know what I mean? No, look what we got. We got fucking Brady out of the whole bunch, you know? He could leave us, you never know. You know what? We want a Super Bowl. You can go on. I don't know why you would. I don't know why you would. You got the top quarterback in the league. Why would you want to go rebuild? Listen, that's why coaches leave, I feel like. They might be like, like even if you look at the offense, the defense, grenade at the Lions, they have one of the best teams right now, obviously, still stat-wise and record-wise. But these coaches want to be head coaches because they want to actually make their own team. They feel restricted being a coordinator on offense or defense. So they'll go to a shitty team thinking they can rebuild. It depends on the situation. I think it says they know he's greener on the other side. No, that's why I think it's stupid, depending, like, obviously. Like, I think Aaron Glenn going to the Jets is fine. I think that's a good move. But Johnson going to the Bears is a stupid move. One of the last time the Bears kept coach for like more than three years. Also, so Aaron Glenn played for the Jets. I didn't really play for the Jets as well. So Ben Johnson, the youngest head coach. He'd be Sean McBeat. Yeah. Youngest coach, active coach, your youngest ever. It's youngest ever, is what this says. Sean McBeat was the youngest. Oh, no, he was the youngest head coach in NFL. He's 30 A. I don't know. Yeah, so Ben Johnson to what? Aaron Glenn, the Jets and Johnson didn't even wait a day. He literally less than 24 hours. He signed that contract. That's where he wanted to be. That's what he, whatever one said, what he said, whatever he goes there next year. And they don't even win six games. He's going to be really missing the Lions. So, but whatever. And then obviously, what's his name? Josh McDaniel back with the Patriots as their offense coordinator again. Wow. I don't know that. So, yeah, he's back there now. Those are head coach. Brable. Rapads. Yeah, he's Brables. That goes for the pets. Yeah, so they got him. And then, so the only people with openings right now is Jacksonville. Damn, it's kind of scary for that division. Jacksonville, Dallas, and Raiders, all stuff openings. But Dallas, they're saying it's probably going to be Kalimor. Well, I'm pretty sure they're OC right now. And he's not bad. Same to need one tool. Oh, a saint still need one. That's right. I forgot the saint's also something. But I know I've heard McCarthy is more likely going to Jacksonville. Is right. Which would be interesting. And then yeah, Raiders and Saints, I haven't really heard anything. Obviously, with the Raiders, I've heard stuff with Bella check, but. Saints and no Saints interviewed for 80. Oh, I honestly, that'd be the honestly between if I had to choose between like the teams out of openings this year, like the Bears would obviously be last just because I don't like their situation. But the Saints would also be up there because their. Teams old. They're on full rebuild too. They have a lot of cap issues too. You know the Saints. Yeah. They have a lot of people that need to get rid of. They need to rebuild. They have like the worst cap in the foot and leave or I need to reconstruct your contracts need to get rid of some people. So there's some people that you. Or the one that's in the team. That's in the team. Yeah. Unfortunately, I love to see the Saints do better. I mean, they look good on paper sometimes. Like always, they start the year, but then they always just end up doing nothing. But that would definitely be them. And even Jackson, well, that's kind of good situation right now. I feel like just because I feel like that team is just. Not that great. So I'm a car. If you go in a jack and. I think that's a. That's easily a better situation than freaking what they had. You know, the peers and so. I mean, it's a better situation, but it's not. That's like great. Yeah, great. And honestly, well, I really want to be a coach. Honestly, all the teams only put. Honestly, I've all the teams that had coaching availability. The Jets probably would have been the best one to go to. The team that has a long playoff draw. Yeah, you got a lot of weight on your shoulder going into this place as the new head coach. No, I need to get a lot of stress going on your shoulders and you go to Dallas. That would be the last place. I also want to go with Jerry Jones also. So it's price Jerry Jones himself head coach. Yeah. Yeah, I'm just giving it into being both. A little more news on the Saints. They have as of a day and a half ago. They have advanced to Canada. It's the second interviews. Mike Kaffa, Giants offense coordinator. And Miami Duffins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver. I knew those guys. Oh, no, great. I know he did because they put it on their socials that they had a virtual interview with him. But he probably just entertained it, but I it wouldn't make sense. He's not that old as either. No, he isn't, but. I don't know why you want to leave such talent. Yeah. Yeah, I get it every coach once I had coach probably, but it's like, why would you want to leave that talent behind? I'll have coach. I've I were like in that situation. Yeah, it's the bill. So maybe I'm a little biased here. I'll admit it in that kind of situation. Regardless if it was the bills are not actually. I think I would stay and I'd be like, all right, let's fucking build this dynasty. I'm cool being a part of a fucking dynasty for eight years. If I get three rings out of it. Yeah. So how much money that is come to the organization? You know how much money that is? He'll make. Yeah, it's not a head. Who get bonus. Who get bonuses and shit for all that stuff? So. Yeah. Then after all that success. Shit, you can get a job anywhere at any team. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe dalsal just try without a coach. Back. We'll just let the players. He'll be the first players coach. Yeah, just the coach themselves. Yeah, I know what direction that team is going. So. I want to be surprised that they start freaking trading everyone too. It could be a gutting ever. Yeah. Fuck. Um. Okay. And if all playoffs. We're down to four teams. We got the. Manders and the Philadelphia Eagles. Battling and the NFC championship. And then we got the annual. Arrowhead Bowl. Uh, Buffalo bills. Can see chiefs. Great. Yeah, go bills, but great matchup, man. I mean, I. Honestly props props to the commanders for props to the script writers. Dude, they got it right. Just probably. I'm so happy to take Manders, pulled it off last week and knocked the lines out. That was awesome. It was pretty awesome. It was great to see it. I love watching Jane Daniel sitting on the sidelines. Calm as can be to sit there just. No world. This all. No, no stress on his shoulders at all. Just playing in the. Divisional round again. I mean, I don't think. I can try to get the office. I don't think. In his like, I mean, think about it. Yeah, you probably still be stressed on high pressure moment, but like. He's proved himself as a rookie quarterback. I know he's proved himself as a just a quarterback in the NFL. Like he's better than most. And he's not I mean, he's a rookie, though. He's also an older rookie, too. Yeah, he's got experience in that he's got a lot of experience in college. So he was coming into this shit ready to go kind of like Bow was. Oh, had a lot of college experience. You know what I mean? So. But he definitely got handled in the same type of. Composure like Daniel. He was out there looking like he's been playing the NFL for multiple years. So. They did like a NFL. Predictions and what's going to happen in that it's had that he's going to make huge. MPP race. So big. He's one of these days healthy. Yeah, he's going to be we're going to see another little more. Not even better than more. So I think he's better than the more. I think he honestly, I think he does a better arm. So I mean, obviously he just needs to like I said, I think he's better than most quarterbacks in the NFL right now. So. I would say the top 10 quarterback in the NFL. So, you know, he's a really easy. He's a rookie. Easily top 10 quarterback though. Give everybody a secret draft him for your fantasy. Yeah. A lot of points, but. But yeah, the game matchups. Let's start off with Philly. And the commander, while we're talking about him. It can be a good game. He's a great game. I think Jay, you know, ball out. I think Jay, the hurts is going to ball out. I think it's going to be a great matchup as long as the weather doesn't really fuck it up. But obviously last week didn't really change that for Philadelphia. They still ran the hell out of it. I know a lot of the money right now is on Philly. I know the spread came out and started off at like four and a half. And now it's up to like five and a half, six and a half. So. People are putting a lot of money on Philly. People are. They're using the weather as an excuse to, but people forget Washington plays in cold weather all the time. So they don't think it's going to affect them. Yeah, so I don't think it's going to be a lot closer. I think it's going to come down to a three point game. And it's going to come down in positive last second field goal or just three or four point. I think it's going to blow out on either side. So, but only devices of both sides if they can't stop the running game. They can't stop Jay and Daniels. He was going to be in a long run. But if commanders can't stop, say, one, it's going to be a long day for them. I think he's going to get thrown the ball. Yeah. And I think Jay and Hertz has also been very conservative with his passing. And I think they could be they're going to say, want to be rushed in the house. Yeah, I'm just saying that I think Jay and also have been very conservative. And I think they're going to surprise people possibly too. If they obviously get down, like, I think Jay and I come out throwing ball. Two, so. Yeah, that's going to be a good one. But it's a point flip pretty much 50, 50, I think for this game. But honestly, for right now, I'm still going to give it a little bit edge to fill it with the home field advantage. But I guys said it could either go either way. I think I would still be. I'm not still be pulling for Washington. Personally, I don't know. The way I think about this game is right now we're at the point where what happens happens. Who's prepared themselves for the before successful in the other team? Personally, if I had to choose, I would say I think Philly is probably going to not going to walk away with this. They're going to have some type of nail bite or something is going to happen. Say, Quann is going to have another big game. But then again, we keep my fucking words there and Jayden's going to come out and just fucking ball out, which regardless, I know he's going to go out and ball out. So we're going to be very surprised if he goes out there and just doesn't have a good game. So I'm excited for this. I'm excited for the game. I'm excited to see the rivalry game. Magic, maybe. Same game. So I love it. Or same division. Yeah, same division. Yeah, same division. And they split it this year too. So it's. It's. They honestly, these coaches are awesome. I can't. Quann has surprised me this year coming out for watching. I like game away better than Sarah. But I like them both. I don't even know. I still like Sierra on you too, is he's, you know, he don't give a fuck. He'll start. He'll just start cussing at the other players or cussing at his own players. He needs to doesn't care. So I love his attitudes hilarious. He loves it. So. But no, I think it's going to be a great game. Honestly, this game, I think is going to be a lot closer than the next game. So let's move on to the next game. Like I said, Yeah. Our annual arrowhead bowl. Fuck. Is it going to be fucking like what negative degrees again? It's going to be cold. Not a big deal. Is it going to be that rough? I don't know. I don't think it. With it being a later game in Kansas City with the windshield, I bet it's going to be. It has to be in the single digit. I bet. I bet. I bet. It's going to be fucking cold. I don't want snow, but I know it's going to be cold. And I don't know if it would probably be windy too. Um, Our regular matchup would be them in the regular or above will beat them in the regular season. Um, that was a Helen setting game. Us doing it again. Like we always do in the regular season, but. Like Chris had last episode, like I've been seeing all over this year's different. So I don't know. Maybe there's different. Maybe Sunday will, uh, we'll be talking about door leads. But it's not, uh, it's not going to be too shabby. We're going to be. We're going to say the game time about 30 degrees. Wind chill 26. That's not bad. It only drops a few more. Few more degrees. So it's not going to be horrible. Because come Monday in Kansas City, it's going to be back up towards the 50s. Oh wow. So. All right, exciting stuff football weather. You know, that is a buffalo football weather. There might be a chance of snow at that time too. Maybe small chance. So. You better. I just add still flavor. But yeah, I think. Yeah, regular season, buffle beat on. I think they got a. A chip on their shoulder. Maybe I'll get past this hurdle. So they're going to be. They're going to be prepared and. I think it'll still be a good game, but. Then again, they might get away from. But it definitely does feel different this year. So. It just it can't fucking happen again. It's not going to happen. No. It's not. No fucking way. No fucking way, dude. Match up is what it is. You know, it is the best against the best we can school per se. Although this year, we thought. You know, the match up between Baltimore and. The best of the best, which it was. Did not disappoint. It was fucking crazy. Talk about a match up where you are at the edge of your seat. The entire entire game. Yeah. That should have been the AFC championship, probably. Yeah, 100%. But. You know how this fucking. AFC championship goes so. That's why I honestly, the way you guys play against Baltimore, your defense held up good against all the run. God, I talk about fucking the difference and having everybody fucking back, bro. That defense did look really good. So I know. I'm looking to love that sprint from the big boy, fireman. God, he's fucking slow. That was a smart position. I'm all the attention. A lot of the time that's limiting his play throughout the season. So they're saving up the playoff. Yeah, I was smart idea. It's a great idea. I love how. Did you. A lot of back, dude. Did you see the interview after the game with him, bond. He, uh, so he was running. You know, he was talking. He's like, yeah, I started off in six or second gear. I should know, but I kept going. And then I looked up and saw what jersey's coming. I just held on the ball. He said is when he went down. And his head hit and he lost both of his contacts. Oh, for real. Yeah. Wow. Both of both of them fell out. That's insane. Where's they just fall right at your eyes? That's crazy. No, yeah, great. I loved it. I love having all of our defense back. I don't know. I don't know if he's going to come back. Yeah, it was day to day. Um, Taren looked fine after his little shoulder. Yeah, he's all right. I'm. Um, Benford tweaked something that last or no, Benford was in concussion protocol. I thought rap or not. I, but maybe I didn't. I'm thinking of whoever was in concussion protocol. He got, I can't think he got his bell rang on that onside kick. Oh. So. But, um, you know, we're looking. We're looking pretty solid. Yeah, I think we're looking good. This should be a good game. It wouldn't be surprised you guys honestly beat the bio touch up. So you said big win, huh? I think it's, like I said, I think it's going to be. That is close to the fill in commander's game. So I think as long as your guys is offense comes out and played dominant. They did. And then the defense can just hold. Because you know, they're going to do the typical game plan. They're just going to target Kelsey a bunch of times right in the middle there. So as long as you're in linebackers can stay right there in the middle and with him. They're fine. And you trust your corners. Regardless of what receivers, which honestly. I think you guys have no problem with you guys just got us not Kelsey. So. Yeah, I think we can get my homes. Cluster being good. Good to keep in your defense alignment also temper-wise too. It won't be doing too much. Yeah, you already know that roughs are going to be looking for anything. That's what we got really the reps are literally not going to be on their side. Raps are going to be looking to throw a flag at any time. If they tackle in the wrong way or not just give them to the ground and get up and get back. Get up and get back to the huddle. Don't even do the you can celebrate a little bit but don't do no stupid shit. Don't try to accidentally step over on don't try to get up in this face. Oh, I love that. Just a strict discipline buffalow bills defense and offense just straight fucking business. No, nothing. I know we are here. Celebrate once we are here for business, bro. I'm going to worry about that is Hollins. You can watch. He just keeps his bare foot ass on the fucking sideline. Yeah, he gets he's fucking been getting fired up man. Get that cheerleader spirit in a bro. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, shit. I love it. All right. Well, I got nothing else. I don't know. I don't know. I only just a little more sports news I have.
