All right welcome back episode 43. How's it going guys? All right, all right so F1 is back. We got started in Australia. Australia Grand Prix right Chris. Yeah, laying down under. It was a was interesting one. It was a disaster. Let's just say that. I think we had six cautions maybe more. didn't even make it to the formation lap and didn't even start on time. Of course. Yeah, they did. They lay it. So one rookie finished out of the five. Does that tell you anything? The rookies crashed in the formation lap, right? Yeah, one of them did. We had two veterans crashed out to the pseudo rookie. Kind of his first full season. Liam Lawson ended up crashed it out too. So we had six DNFs, the entire race. Wet race started off Roof right from the get go. 15 minute delay. Got underway. Trainers think the next caution. There's too many of them. It doesn't matter. There was too many of them to count. It was a disaster. Yeah, other than that, it was stayed fairly chill. You know, McLean was pretty well off to the races right off the get go. Max was in the next swath. We're on intermediates pretty much the entire race. There was a break about 15 laps, 15 laps to go somewhere in there, 20 laps to go. That didn't last long. It definitely got really fucking crazy when Hamilton was leading the race there for a lap. Look, Claire was in second. And then it all felt part of a matter of lap. They gambled with the rain not sticking around. So they didn't switch right away. They had to go in pit. So they ended up coming in the back of pack at that point. Most of that was kind of triggered with the caution at about the same time. So they gambled. They didn't work out. Big pucker moment from her Clare and both of them. They went wide just before that. Blando regain control. Piaestry ended up wiping out in the grass. It almost looked like he was going to stay put, kind of like beached in the grass, couldn't get traction. He finally was able to back back onto the tarmac and get going again. So that kind of screwed his race. He ended up gaining some ground back. He finished ninth. Your top three, Wando, Max, Russell. And then you're the only rookie to finish finished fourth in the youngest guy on the track. Friton Crazy. Good for him, me. There was a time penalty initiated to him. I think it was unsafe, free entry in the pit. I actually found out today that they overturned that. So he did retain his fourth place. So that means Mavisouf won race under a belt. Lando is leading the team or the driver championship, but McLaren is tied with Mercedes for the constructors now. So pretty wild. I wouldn't have expected Mercedes even in the top three for the constructors at this point. For I was a little disappointing a little with their damn shenanigans behind the wall. I know they were pissing. I can't even kind of piss both drivers off, honestly. There were a lot of good memes on that. Yeah, there's way too much of a super rough year this year. Way too much information over the fucking radio when those guys were trying to drive at that speed. I'd probably want to set fuck off, but they were polite about it. It's also sick conditions, dude. Oh yeah, that's wild for... No, all Australians usually have pretty heavy caution track anyways. I think last year we had three red flags. But for it to be wet and being the fourth fastest track on schedule right now, that was freaking wild. This weekend we're in China for the Chinese Grand Prix. The outlook is potentially another wet race. They only get one practice section which actually starts here a little under an hour. I believe an hour and a half. One practice session because this weekend is a sprint weekend. So they'll do the practice, they'll go into sprint, quality, and then race. We could see another that crazy show again. That's for sure. Yeah, we can see Landau walk away with this shit. I don't know if he's going to walk away, but I think it'll be interesting racer championship for sure. I think Max is going to be nipping right at the heels. I'm sure he's going to get some wins. Still seems real solid. Mercedes looks strong. Might have been the weather. Might have been the wet. You know, those cars usually do pretty good in those conditions. The cooler temps and wet weather. I'd like to say Ferrari is going to bounce back, but I know they sent their... That was rough, rough. I think it was their head engineer or head. It wasn't their team principle, but the main guy that oversees development, they actually... he is not going to be a trackside this weekend. He's actually back at HQ trying to figure out what the fuck is going on with the car, because they were even disappointed in their pace and everything. Yeah, the conditions were shitty, but... Well, it was well with the cars. Still... I just don't think it was given them what they expected it was supposed to. They haven't gotten in any details, but I think he's just going back and probably analyzing data and seeing what they can get rolling as far as upgrades. Gotcha. I thought they would have been a little more potent too this weekend, even with the conditions. Well, they say Ferrari's running like shit, so... The fucking pig. All these facilities... You make this piece of shit. Exactly. You know, I think a number of racers just got lucky, timing the pit, the way that caution landed. You know, you had Elden, Strole and Hawkenberg, 5, 6, and 7. Hawkenberg scored more points in that one race than he did all last season. We'll see. First race of the season. You know what? It is. I see him corrected. We actually had two rookies officially finish the race. Olli did finish it in 14th, which was dead last in the... So... He finished it at least. Fuck. He did finish. He had a rough weekend leading up to it. He crashed out twice during practice. Bingo cards are filling up. I had five checked off this race alone, so... Now we'll see how this weekend comes in. I think McClellan is still probably going to be right up there, but if it's another wet race, who the hell knows, man. You know the shit show? Other F1 news, off-track, you know Cadillac was official finally. So they started looking at drivers. Right now it sounds like Sergio Perez is one of the top in the running. Official word from his sponsors, they have been in communication with Cadillac and potentially driving for them. That could get in our esting. That's going to win the first year they're out there. That's the hell of a way to come on. It's not Cadillac power in the engine, right? Who's got the engine? It's Ferrari engine for at least the next three years until they get their own power playing up and running. Facilities on construction. It's actually their headquarters is going to be in Fisher's Indiana. So... It's going to be pretty damn cool. I'll get sick. It is interesting, Red, they have to pay the 10 existing teams. So they got to pay the teams 400 million. That's spread out over the 10 teams. That is the fee to enter. Because I got to split the earnings and everything from the screening rights and the race rights 11 ways now. So that's how the rest of the teams kind of get past this first year, kind of swamp. Gotcha. Only way around that is if you buy an existing team. So... Interesting well-fact. But it's underway. I don't know if we keep having races like this. It's going to be pretty damn interesting. It could really change up a lot of thoughts and anticipation and projection. I don't have more races like that. I don't know. They... I'm pretty sure they said it was high potential of a wet race. No, just I think I don't think, and only one of them I had am making the lead eight. The other two I think I had them just winning the first round. I think the first two round. So both my, well, then one bracket I had them in the sweet 16, and then another bracket. I had VCU too though, and VCU fucked me, so. Bro, Drake is about to win this game. Hell yeah, crazy. Really? 54% of all brackets had Louisville being Craten. So more than half already, I had Louisville in one of mine and I had Craten in the other. That's a toss up game to me. St. John's is the number two team in the fucking bracket, dude. Yeah, but they barely played anyone that great, so. I think St. John's is definitely the weakest two seed though on there. St. John plays in the big E's, dude. Yeah, but you think St. John's could compete against Tennessee and Alabama? Yeah. Yeah, well, the one I think they could be is Michigan State. So we'll see. Out of the two seeds. So I haven't going in the final four in one of my brackets. So if they do good, they do good. So. So, I don't know if you have a chance to look at that. You'd like that one bracket. I did where I'd really call it the dream because my final four is, uh, North Carolina for St. John's and then Duke for UCLA, which UCL, it looks like they're going to win. So the first round. But then I have North Carolina and Duke in the championship in North Carolina beating them. Dude, I'm excited for North Carolina after that fucking match up with uh, San Diego State. That was amazing. They had a good out. They did just could not miss. It was sick. I know. I think they're going to do the same thing. Hopefully, console miss and then with Iowa State, dealing with all their injuries, they could easily make a sweet 16. And then they'd have to play. What Michigan State or Marquette probably? I don't know if you guys watched any of that beginning of the Gonzaga and Georgia game, but I'm pretty sure Gonzaga was winning at like 24 to 3 to start the game. But you may pick some 15s over twos, you may go, you know, threes over 14s, whatever you want to mean, whatever you're going to do. But then the next round, you're starting to build your bracket. You're starting to build, okay, what are my 16 top teams? What are my eight top teams? What are my final four? You piece together all those different combinations. You did was every combination I had top heavy as hell. There was never a combination without a one. You know, they say that there's been someone outside of the top four. I think it was someone outside of top four seedings every single year, since like 2000. What was it? 18 or something like that? So, and I tried to piece together where like, okay, what team outside of top four is going to be making it, you know what I mean? And like, I couldn't figure any other teams out. I think there was one where I had like Maryland making the final four. But like, it was very, very top heavy. So, I think if you built brackets where you have, you know, maybe three one seeds in the final four or at least two one seeds in the final four, I don't think you're crazy. I think you're on the right track. Come on. So, everybody lost three in the pick ten. I don't know, I still kept that syndrome in there though. We'll see. Which one? Which one? Please think. Accrant? I might be able to look up. I don't think it's happened many times in Smarch Madness. So 15 seeds happen all the time, but one seed losing, like 16 beating one seeds, that's rare. Didn't Purdue do that as a one seed? Yeah, that was not what I'm saying. That was one of the few times it's happened with Purdue, that one here. And then I happened to Virginia. I'm pretty sure back like 10 years ago or something like that, or like eight years ago. But I'm pretty sure it's pretty rare that shit happens. But the real question is, is Kentucky gonna go out again in the first round for what, the third year in a row? I hope not. To fucking Troy. That was that shit. I think Kentucky's got one of the best scoring offenses in the SEC. So I think Kentucky beat 10 to see twice this year. So 10 to see's got a split or defense. I mean, Kentucky's got an easy path too, because then they just play the winner of Illinois and Xavier and both those teams are not that great. So, they didn't come back. And Xavier came back, they were down by what 12 with what, barely any time left when they still came back. Like was it three minutes left there, down by 12 and they came back and beat Texas? I think they have an opportunity over Auburn. I don't think St. John's has a chance to win it. I think they can make a final four. I just don't think they'll win it. Duke is the one that I think it would be. I think it could be like Duke and Houston, right? But Duke just has to run into Alabama on the sweet 16 and Alabama can just get hot. So, Alabama is a scary team. Because they average a lot, like fucking 80 something points in the game. Team just shoots nothing but threes. So, we'll see. My sweet 16 and both brackets are dead, but looking at everything else, no, not dead. Like one of them I have two of them missing as in VCU and Clemson. I had VCU in this week 16 in Clemson. Making the sweet 16 in the same bracket. And then the other one I had Clemson still making the sweet 16. I got, I really did not think McNeese was really going to fucking pull that off. Clemson was just looking so good this year. I thought they had, I thought they had an opportunity this year. That is shit the butt. I really think they did. Yeah, VCU fucked me in that one.
