The Trilateral Podcast

Double DQ...Not the sweet type :(

Heffner Brothers Season 1 Episode 44

All right, all right welcome back trilateral podcast episode 44. How's it going everybody? How's it going? Oh, man, it's going. We had to race. We had a lot of basketball going on. We got a lot of NFL news. We got NBA and hockey finishing up going into playoffs. We got MLB starting. What a time to be alive. All sports. Let's talk about F1. Let's talk about those two little red cars. Yeah. Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai. Leading up the weekend. Pretty decent. This was a sprint race weekend. So there was only one practice session. A few teams were scrambling. They had delays and receiving parts from transit from Australia. So few of those teams were delayed. FI allowed them. They kind of opened the window. Usually they have a time limit on that window. They extended it slightly. Didn't seem to really make or break anyone. But one practice. And then it went into sprint qualifying, sprint race, and then he did regular qualifying. And then main race. Kind of a surprise. I'm proud of fans, but also to himself. Hamilton ended up placing pole position for the sprint race. Which was awesome. That was cool. I saw that. Pretty uneventful sprint race. Hamilton ended up taking it, which was awesome. And then yeah, between the sprint race qualifying and the main event, they decided to change things on those cars for the better supposedly, but that didn't really seem to pay off with the full end result. Overall, race was pretty uneventful. Piatry took pole position and ended up winning. Yeah, he didn't lead every lap, but Alex Albaum, he ended up leading for ham full laps or so. The course was resurfaced this season. So tire degradation was a big issue. It honestly didn't seem to be a huge problematic thing. Most are on mediums and then transition to the hards. They were thinking two stoppers, most teams. I think a lot of teams anticipated it, but a lot of teams ended up doing one stop. Yeah, the point is Piatry, what was that? Was it all you really needed? Yeah, once you got the hards on there, you could pretty much take it to the end of the race. A few had multi-pest stops, but some of that was required. Within the first turn, would Claire hit the back of, clipped the back out of Hamilton's rear wheel, snapped the winglet off the front of the spoiler. They ended up not replacing it, which was kind of surprising. It stayed fairly stable. Not sure how it impacted him. They said he was losing time, but it didn't seem to affect him horribly. Thankfully, that wasn't a puncture on Hamilton, though. It could have been pretty bad that first lap. One DNF, Alonzo's rear brake caught on fire. So he went out. I don't know, it was a viral mid-race. Weird one. Yuki was actually pretty far up in the order and coming down the main street with his one side of his front spoiler just boom, failed. He had to come in and change that. That took him down a little further in order. Pretty clean race. No full cautions of any sort. All the three cars were on the lead lap, which was a big change from last year. Huge change. Yeah. The final results, PS3, Lando, Russell again on the podium. So McLaren 1-2, Max IV, McLare V, Hamilton Six, Estabon VII, Anatoli VIII, Elbon IX, and Oli Bareman X. Wasn't too bad a point hole for Ferrari, but after the conclusion of the race and post-race checks of the vehicles, both of the Ferrari's were de-cued, along with one of the Helping drivers, Pierre Gavsley. Pretty disappointing. So that wiped all their points out. Will Lauray's. Will the DQ? The DQ on, well, Clare was underweight. He had looked in, was excessive, wear to the skid plate. He has to come in at a minimal thickness. His was a result of the car being set too low. So, and then Pierre Gavsley's was underweight also. So most likely there, the Clare pairs were pre-fueled management. They didn't manage it properly or they pushed a little too much, so they used more fuel than they anticipated. They probably fueled light also. There was some videos after showing some of the drivers driving off course after the fact, click into the grass and gravel to pick up a little more weight. Yes, that's a little. Most of them do it, even in the dirty parts of the track, they pick up more rubber on the tires. But yeah, a little disheartening to Ferrari. So that definitely kind of her kicks them back. The Clare looks pretty dominant. They are looking very good at it. Max is up there, but he's the only one bringing in points. And Mercedes, that rookies doing real good. Youngest guy out there. He's bringing in good points. So, fastest lap went to, I think that was Hamilton. Obviously, they're not keeping that point to share. I don't know why they took her away. It's kind of silly on their part. But I actually found out during the race that, with them removing that point for the fastest lap, they're actually, the FIA, I think it's something to do with entry fees or stuff. They're actually losing money by not having that point available. Really? Yeah, I'm not sure of all the details why they took it away, but it seems a little silly. Yeah. But yeah, overall the race was pretty low-key. Definitely not as interesting and suspenseful as Australia, but a good race, nonetheless. Probably the biggest thing that came out after the fact, which it, even for the team's standards, Red Bull standards, it seems a bit quick to take action. They're already swapping Liam Austin out for Yuki Seno. I saw that. So, he's going to get the Red Bull seed at his home Grand Prix. What team did he race for before Red Bull, obviously? Liam? No. Yuki's always been with Red Bull. Oh, he has? Yeah, up to him. Liam too has, um, probably been with Red Bull, so he was reserved for the last lap, so he took over for a Ricardo as sure. Didn't Yuki race on a different team or didn't he, or did he race at one last year? Yeah, this is his fifth season, I believe. Um, there's some good concern. You know, they overlooked Yuki last year and went with Liam. Some are concerned that they're, they made too quick of a change, and it could set both of them up for failure, but we'll see. Yuki seems to be doing well. I just, you know, my personal thought is they just have that that car so dialed to Max's racing style that it's kind of a beast to drive, just from a, it's more of like a nice edge. It's not just a, you have F1 racing and then you have the way they have that Red Bull car set up, which is just kind of a tensor or more aggressive stance and, you know, it's not meant for just the average F1 racer. It's meant for someone the way that they drive, like how Max drives. Yeah, he drives on that edge of, you know, the car is so dialed that, um, there's a lot more. Uh, technique involved just to drive it the way it's set up. So we'll see, I hope Yuki does well. I think it'd be great if you could come out and, you know, be in that top 10 to top 5, if it was home, uh, Grand Prix, that'd be amazing. Depend. Liam, I think it's, yeah, depend. It's been a while since, um, there's been a high ranking to Pan Dryer, so that's a lot of pressure on him. Hopefully you can take it and run with it. Yeah. Liam has been, uh, a lot of good memes on it because Liam, uh, when he took over for a card, oh, there was a race where him and Perez were battling out. Once he got past Perez, he flipped him off during the race. Liam? Yeah, Liam did. Um, so I, I kind of feel this is a little bit of a karma coming back, but I definitely think Red Bull is making too quick of a decision. It's only been two races, but, you know what, they're going to make silly decisions like that in the backfires, I guess it is what it is. They're not the wind, they're not going to win the constructors as for sure, but can it ever count? Yeah, I think there'll be three, four this year. Um, just hoping for our e-con bounce back. Uh, the wind the whole damn thing. I'm looking forward to the next race. Japanese, uh, GP, Suzuki Circuit. It's not this weekend, but the following weekend, and then it softs the Middle East after that. So noise. I think that covers everyone news for now. We, um, in the film news, any out of no, but news. I know we've had a couple things happen since the last time we talked, uh, did we say, uh, Russell Wilson signed up the giants? Russell Wilson with the giants. That's crazy. After they had after just given, uh, went into your contract and go out there and signing Russell, so they pretty much stated, no, they're not going to be drafting a quarterback in the first round. So it looks like Travis Hunter are probably going to the giants. They'd be nasty. Um, if people play a receiver, yeah, with him and belief neighbors and they gave, uh, what's his name, a big contract to, uh, the shepherd. Oh, yeah. So you have a big catch on contract as well. So let me check for see if we're in there. But now, no, they believe instead of hunters, going to be doing both or if you're just going to be doing corner or what? Well, he's a good player regardless of the game. He gets me a good utility player to have. Um, but also, um, the exciting three year, 69 million dollar max failed to the Patriots. Yeah, that. He changed high. No, yeah. I don't know what the Patriots really thinking there to the backfire. So, uh, I mean, I agree. I mean, Edelman made a statement saying that he believes that he'll actually line a fire underneath all the receivers. Asses and pretty much get them into shapes. And so they're not playing well, but I don't know. I feel like digs could also bring a lot of draw unnecessary drama to the team. I don't know if that's what Drake may really needs as a receiver to let him to give him the ball all the time and send out as how digs is. But, no, no, no, that is what Drake may need because there are many really leadership in that receiving room. So, I'm seeing. I'm seeing who else is that who is in there? Kendrick Bourne. To do. Now, as you do, I'm getting to see. Oh, that's right, but Kendrick Bourne, they have that hole. But, maybe, too crazy, but. Did what's his face go to the Patriots? No, no, no, I don't need some reason to write. Other news. So, we. I think too much by pickups really. Interesting one, I guess, underarmor is now the official footwear and glove partner of the NFL. Really? Yeah, March 25th, that was announced. Underarmor is now the other in gloves. So, so, what does that mean? Everybody have to wear underarmor. Cleats in a way. I don't know what it has to, but it says that they're today that was the long-term partnership. The drama will become official footwear and glove partner of the NFL. Disagreited both brands, commitments to innovation athletic performance. Well, I don't know how that's going to work, but so. Good for the NFL, good for underarmor. Yeah, it's huge for underarmor. Honestly, so. Um, I've done a lot. Been a five year here. I ate this for him. Yeah. Hmm. Listen, I think they should bring back Reebok. Yes, Reebok. Yes, they should. Pretty much, you know, they're big NFL news. I can't really think of that. I haven't seen too much just that Wilson one kind of surprised me. I mean, I don't know where that's leading. They leave in Pittsburgh. I hope we don't sign Rogers. But. Hey, what's it? It doesn't. So. I don't know. I just do. I'm. I'm making sure. I'm making sure. I'm making sure. I'm making sure. What? You're going to get a year to. I'm going to get a jersey for Hunter and Dad. I can almost see him going in Minnesota. No, I was not going to say. Jay, Jay, Jay McCarthy has gone through him past all his tests. First visible tests and all that. So he's looking pretty good for starting day one. We may not appreciate them, but definitely. Hopefully day will be starting. But I will. Don't get some reps in the prison. Yeah. It's nothing. Oh, pretty interesting news now, though. Wilson going to the Giants. That means both quarterbacks starting at MetLife. We're both on Pittsburgh last year with Wilson starting and field starting. Wow. Yeah, that's true. Well, just that Pittsburgh. So. You guys really are going to pick up broaders. Let's really let that sink in. How are we feeling about Roger being a Pittsburgh student? Is it going to happen? We better just not. We better not be giving them no one year, 20 something million dollar contract. We got to use money. Please, so, but. I'd rather use it somewhere else. Yeah, he's right out of all the box drafts. They're saying Pittsburgh is going to be drafting defense first round. So we don't have a center out. So. If they don't have a Z-Druck, we're back in the first round. And let's take things. Mason Rudolph's going to be the. Started, but. I don't know. You want to probably end. Test about Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Now I was still on that Mason Rudolph and Justin Field and Russell. All right, whatever you say here. Don't be bitching at me. Well, you guys go like fucking. Hey, we're still going to go 500. So zero and 18. We're still going to go 500. We went 500 with Kenny Pickett Mason Rudolph as our quarterbacks the later year, two years ago. That's all I got for NFL. So nothing too much. Julio. March madness. Crazy game. Crazy games today. Sweet 16 coming in. Chris. RIP your bracket. Yeah. Pretty much. You had a long time. Pick, I think I still have some. Teams a while. I feel a little bit. I haven't looked at the progress literally. I'm still smoked in both. So. But March madness happening right now. Well, some games have already been completed. But uh, Thursday games, Alabama, BYU, Florida, Maryland, Duke, Arizona, and Arkansas, Texas, we really could see one of the ones seeds advancing till the day, which should be pretty crazy. So yeah, and then we got other ones seeded to be Houston and Purdue. And Auburn and Michigan. That game, then what else we got Michigan state Ole Miss and Kentucky and Tennessee. He really could see all the ones seeds go right through. Yeah, they said it was the first year in 20, their first time in 20 years, the higher than a 10 seed, or was 11 seed or higher didn't make the sweet 16. What? This was the first year in 20 years that seed not higher than 10 seed. It was not made in 16. It's really last 20 years. There's been a seed higher than 10 seed in the sweet 16. And the year was 10 seed was obviously the highest on them. That's a very chalked year, which I don't know. They do. I mean, it's not a bad thing. I mean, that just means the ones seeds are actually good for once. And they got it right. So the last couple of years, they haven't been a lot of upsets. Well, yeah, there's always one Cinderella story in the health. Was it last year or two years ago with Oakland? Who's the Cinderella story here Arkansas? Technically, but you can't really count on 10 seed. 10 seeds are not ones that you know Cinderella. Tell us you when you got Calapari as your coach, so. Yeah, that's all pretty chalk, but it makes a good tournament. We're going to have a good basketball. We had a good basketball. And you saw bonito, the Tino is son. Oh, yeah. He's going to be the coach of David or Zee. He already left after taking in Mexico to March Man is what three years in a row. That's going to be sick because they're going to play each other. Yeah, and I was going to play his dad in the big east. So that's sweet. Xavier, where's Xavier at? Xavier Zay John is obviously New York. Well, I don't know where St. or where Xavier is at. Pennsylvania? You know where Xavier is at, Chris? I think it's Pennsylvania or. I know Butler is in the, you know, Xavier University. Followed like Chicago. Is it Ohio? Yeah, it is Ohio. Now we're at Ohio. Cincinnati. All of the Cincinnati. Yeah, Cincinnati. Yeah. You big basketball. Big east. So best conference in basketball. Debateable, but it's pretty good. Definitely the most fun to watch. So the most competitive conference. That's for sure too. Given though there's no teams left in the big east. Some of sense, but I mean, right? They had some tough schedules. Yeah, they did. Not like they didn't play good. I mean, St. John's play against Arkansas. UConn almost upset Florida. So with all the teams left, who's all yours picked a winner right now? I'm going to say a problem. Mine is Houston. After watching Bama the night. So they're going to put up over 100 points every game. Close to it. They're going to be tough to beat. They keep shooting the three ball like they are. That was pretty good. They just broke the record for most three in the game. Yep. So for March madness. So they had like 24th. Actually, they beat it by quite a bit too. It was 20. That is pretty good. So. That's huge for Bama, but I don't know. I'm still pretty high in Tennessee. Really? Chris. Who's up again? A lot of teams. I mean, yeah, we still got like all the one scenes of Duke, Florida, Houston, Auburn Auburn, those are still Michigan State. In talking Tennessee. Ole Miss Ole Miss. Arkansas. Texas Tech. Alabama. I don't know. I'd press say maybe could do. Kentucky. Oh, Purdue. It produced you. We do. Little bias, maybe. Lock it in. Whatever. Lock it in. Chris is picked. Purdue to win it all. Let's see. Maybe Austin. Maybe little bias. I like to see them. I was almost at the beginning of the party. That was almost my own March. So. I like to see them when it went out. I like that. Oh, yeah, we agree. Yeah, I like that. I like Purdue. So. I think it'll be a tough again than Houston. Probably thanks. I think Purdue would be a tough team. So. We will see. I just picked high. Looks like I still got to do some math. I'm not trying to read the spreadsheet. Hmm. You still got to shout you so. Maybe I don't know. I don't know. Roll the scoring. Yeah, I got to look through and look at the. Sharks and I both them, but. I know I had Purdue. It can talk you. I know I had all I thought I had all burned online. I can't find it right now. No worries, no worries. Any other March madness? Any other sports news in general? Not that I can do. It could be exciting though. I think it's it could be any team still in March. Man, that's mean they have all the ones he'd still. It should be favorites, but. We'll see how the rush to the sweet 16 goes. Yeah, we'll see. One of mine scene Arkansas going a little run to the pretty cool. Masters right around the corner. Sorry for that. That was pretty cool. If watching the end of the TGL. Oh yeah, that's EGL season just wrapped up the end of our golf season. That was pretty cool. Balance. That was pretty cool, but they did pretty good for their first year. It's pretty sick. I hope they expand it. You get some more teams more teams in the out of like, go with it only three months long. The season? Well, yeah, but if they did with more teams, it'd be kind of cool. We'll see. I'll go get the expand it. It was the first year. It was definitely sweet. Okay, I got four or five teams still a lot of their thing. You doing what? In the pick time. Oh. Can you win it? I don't know. I'm trying to understand the scoring. It's not making sense to me. Gotcha. We'll just see who, how many teams you got, or what team you got versus what the other guy's out of the top. And hopefully they don't have the same team. Yeah. Yeah. But I think that wraps up episode 44. We'll try that over podcast. We'll catch you guys next time. Peace. Yeah. Later. Thanks for listening.
