All right welcome back try little podcast episode 47. How is it going guys? What up Good to hear We had Exciting weekend of sports Exciting a couple days here of early NBA playoffs you can say but Person foremost we had a race in Bahrain Correct my saying that Bahrain Bahrain Another dominating race by McClaren Double podium again, I'm clear Don't know what what's going on with their cars, They like go fast. They're obviously much faster And everybody else is right now, so Yeah, they look pretty fast They wake up they piss excellence They do something everybody else so whatever they're doing they need to maybe share Yeah Overall was It was a pretty exciting race I'd say Definitely more exciting than Which kind of pains me excited like Japanese GP but This one was a lot more interesting was a little more A little more thrilling laying head a little more action in the pits We did have one caution Not for a wreck but debris The Kind of a trend for this race so there was a lot of Things malfunctioning We had drivers losing their we are losing Well during practice one driver did lose his steering wheel Completely steering wheel Yeah, actually popped off the um Yeah Like go on it was going oh slow yeah it was it was a slow turn thankfully, but yeah popped right off Um, but it's just not fully secure I think it either malfunctioned the the piece that locks it in the camlock But yeah it popped off when he was going to turn and They got it get out there was no harm thankfully but Electronically, I think we had at least two drivers end up losing Functionality in their wheel Russell was one well Claire was another one Red Bull had issues in the pit with their pit lights Those are malfunctioning so that caused them some horrible pit stops Bulls definitely played a factor Yeah, because he didn't do very you think also a lot of it had to do a pit, huh? A number of it had to do pit, but he was down Overall speed wise so Dude he wasn't nowhere there both of them Yeah, both of them were hampered from pits because of that Lot of good little quips and humor based on what was going on the Announcers were cracking me up man There was one point where that when they were talking about that light thing He's like, yeah, we need to bring back the lollipop man because they used to have a guy with a sign that would flip you know when they could go out of the pit and when they can and And I I think it was either Cano's russell a Claire when they radioed to him that they were losing functionality in their wheel They're steering wheel. He's um, they were joking. Well as long as it doesn't fall off Wow Crazy the conversations those drivers can have going at those speeds It's also like I saw there was a video was it I wonder if it was ball rain or whatever was but uh Hamilton and his uh Whatever his name is whatever his position is We're getting into it No, the engineer the yeah, I think it's engineer whatever like that He was like saying some shit or whatever like that Hamilton was just like yo like lead me to it or like let me fucking do my job or something Or he didn't say that but he was like lep Yeah, I don't know if it was I didn't watch or didn't watch like any after radio I know it had been up to this race. There had been a number of points where he's like just let me do it Because they give way too much information to these drivers sometimes Um I that's obviously like I don't like I wouldn't want anybody talking to my ear at all like that like Yeah, I would prefer it like shorthand like create a shorthand with your um Your engineer so it's like very simple one word things two word things that Say yep copy I get it um But yeah drs George Russell's drs was malfunctioning with players drs was malfunctioning I want to say maybe even for a step in heaven issue with his Um Really they're having issues with ruffles transponder if you were watching the tree very closely He went from sacking all the way down to last at one point Um, so that functionality was Going wacko in his car um He actually There was speculation that he may lose his podium After investigation after the race because of he he um because of the functionality loss in a steering wheel they had To do something else for radio And instead of that button it activated the drs when it wasn't supposed to be Oh shit, um, but after investigation They ruled it that he did not gain an advantage when it was open that brief moment So he retained his spot, but um, yeah, there was just some weird technical things for a number of teams that it was a lot um but Overall was pretty exciting race pits got interesting entire choices were interesting um Yeah, we had Yeah, that was this race, right? What And it totally was leading Oh, yeah, or was that? Yeah, this race I don't know actually Actually, I don't either, I just think it was this race. Maybe it was the last no it was the last one um No, it was the frar is that relieving Um, you know fraries look better. They they were up there um Still got some work to do They still got some work to do Tired choice in the end. I think was a bit of a gamble I don't remember their allocation on tires they had left um I think they went with hards hoping there would be another stop Because I know a number of drivers put on the softs That last uh Which I know Russell was like Whoa guys were putting softs on Why? Which he just because they don't last as long And I think he went over 20 plus laps On that last set and it wasn't even a brand new set it was a use set from practice or qualifying So He was fortunate to probably keep second. That's for sure Oh, I mean, that's pretty good. He held it together like that with us Yeah But you know pastry looked pretty untouchable The land it was coming on towards the end It was nice to see for stepping a little further back in order um Now Yuki scored points for the second red bull sea that's first time since vagus That that seat's been there actually scored points really Yeah Um Ali was your top rookie He finished one spot ahead of Anatoli Um There was only one DNF Science got some damage side pod damage Hawke bird finished the race but he was disqualified after the race due to Uh His skid plate being under thickness Okay So um, they're simply just from it rubbing on the ground during the race, right? Yep The Everyone finished on the leading lap So Oh I'd say that pattern this year is a little different, you know what I mean? It's not so like Eight drivers just on the leading lap and then the rest of the drivers are like we're not even talking about a conversation You know what I mean? Yeah, because last year it was only like the top nine ten at best usually Which is crazy Um Right now your team standing is McLean and Mercedes Red Bull for our Yeah Land those leading by three points right now him and Oscar Our landals first Oscar's third or second and then Max's third Russell by is fourth And then it drops about 30 points to Charles in fifth Uh, we got one of the rookies in the sixth place Kimmy and then Lewis is in seventh Out Yeah Um Four drivers have yet uh Actually scored points yet this season Ruckies Uh two are true rookies The other one is Liam, which is not a true rookie And then Fernando has scored any points Team wise everyone's at least scored points That's good So But yeah, I'm a clearance out to a big lead there I'm surprised Mercedes is that high already They're running They're running good They are You know They've been on every podium except one so far so Yeah, it's pretty good Uh fastest lap went to Oscar Yeah, Hamilton was Hamilton was the driver of the day He had a lot of good overtakes uh But Kimmy was doing quite a ball out there too, I feel Oli had a pretty good showing Um Oscar was just never really challenged So Um we have Oh We have a break No, we don't Yes, we do have race this weekend Uh, sorry Arabia GP this weekend It is a I think it's a 1 p.m. race for us Yeah Sorry, maybe these years are pretty good Look at us, yeah, I think I know what that track looks like It's a nice track Yeah, this was a I think this one's considered a street course Nice Yeah, this one is considered a street course Uh three DLS zones 50 laps So should be a good one um I think McLaren's pretty out to commanding unless someone brings some decent upgrades this weekend So Let's get another double podium thinking Yeah I think this covers everyone for the moment Little news outside of the racing It does sound like uh Sergio Perez has made some um sponsorship moves To set him up pretty good for at least one of the Cadillac seats next year Um So he signed with Heineken And signed with a watch company I can't remember the name off top of my head Not like Staco or any of those It's not um, it's not tag or Rolex It's uh, started with a B All beerling, burling, Brettling, Brettling Yeah Maybe Look at that one, it's a nice one It might have been yeah But Heineken's a title sponsor for some of the races so I think he's looking pretty good money-wise to be added to a team Uh-oh But Think that is it. They have four in the world right now G-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g I was moving into the another exciting weekend we got masters past weekend which was One of the most probably memorable ones that's for sure um We're all great- great go. Yeah, I don't know if you ever if you watch the master. You watch the masters at all Chris I thought a little bit I was at uh B-dubs when I was playing Nice. Oh So I haven't seen Hey round of golf. Well first of all the whole weekend was Fantastic masters know how to put on a broadcast obviously the broadcaster a little different than any other type of broadcast You don't get it in the morning like you don't get the whole thing or They don't sell they don't sell their Whatever it is their video rights whatever it is to like a company or really they just like they got their full freedom to do what they want with it They lose x-monuments so much throughout the every time they do it But they don't care because they keep authentic feel you know how they broadcast this thing It's always been the same. The announcer the main one yeah, yeah, yeah, I can't think of it all the time I had but I can't think of his name Whatever um keep it going um The way they just announced it's it's beautiful, but Thursday Friday didn't get to really watch a ton of it because obviously a whole work god just recap of it um Watching Rory, you know doing well on Thursday and then ended up uh shoot par Then came out Tuesday had a good round bogey free think right up Tuesday Friday bogey free And then came out Saturday and food the first like four holes you had like all threes first five holes all threes beautiful And then obviously Sunday we have a sweat so started rough on Sunday there. What do you do double bogey the first hole? Yeah Yeah, how many double four double bogeys over the weekend Yeah, four double bogeys the first first person to ever win the massage of four double meribogies throughout the whole You know, we was the Didn't take it down. He's the only the sixth person now to complete the grand slam Yep, 11 years in the making for Rory pretty awesome Yeah, it's been winning this he's been trying to get this last major for me Years I call that one a couple months back He was probably one of the most emotional endings for a match I've ever probably seen like that was I was sick You know it was hard not to get emotional at the end after he won and That the other we're talking about he was actually gonna break down or if he was gonna keep this cool And I knew he was gonna break oh yeah He'd be able to get on his knees and was screaming and all that like into the ground like he He's been trying to do this for so long I was sick it was sick We're talking who's gonna be the next person to do the Compliance the grand slam It probably will be Jordan Jordan or Yeah, I don't think Phil will afford or are you gonna do it this year you could do it in less than a month so can fill So Phil calls to do this year no it feels as the US opening be netless in a month maybe this year's yeah it could be this year's I don't know yeah the master's great mash as like Sunday hands down Sunday was probably the best round of golf I've ever watched since Ricky Fowler's Players chip win back in 126 I don't know 15 15 That was nuts. I was a good round of golf to watch now that that with that right there Boy back or I fucking get to see a first playoff in the master since 2017 So I think it's 28 2017 2017 is it was Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia Katia Justin Rose over to baby That's rough I'll get it one day He maybe Rough on I'm glad to be roaring that of an ugly he's had the lead at the end of a round of the master six times now most of anyone was Arnold he's like double digit like 12. Yeah, he's 12 where he's like 11 as well. Yeah 12 rounds He's led to the masters and still is not one crazy So He's doing good for white 53 years old roses up there. Yeah, he's in 50 so he's doing good stuff That was an emotional emotional weekend. It was awesome for Rory So he says he has a good start was back to back years and now someone's won Arnold Palmer and Masters in the same year no players Players have players and fast back to back years But I don't know what they do. They do after that sky didn't really do much after that other than the RBC but I'm three in a row We'll see maybe we're gonna another major That'd be sick with the open this year possibly Went all for them Same year Retire done done I did that retire But yeah, that's golf that was a master's the greatest televised Sports event best best if you had to pick if you had to pick like let's I saw people doing this challenge Like you had to pick you get I was like six different events you get the seven different events and you only get to choose three of them right something like that Yeah, so it was like super ball. It was a super ball the NCAA championship No NCAA championship so football and double a championship Yeah, then you had the World Cup and then like are you gonna say like is it just are you only able to watch the championship? The championship game it's all it is yeah, it's all it is the championship same so like the masters would be like Sunday Sunday pretty much Okay, and then like so they had they had the masters College football Superbowl superbowl Stanley Cup Stanley Cup NBA finals world series and World Cup was a minute No, they had a Kentucky Derby. Oh, Kentucky Derby on there and then they had March Madness final four Yeah, so they had all those and you could only pick three of them Easy three would be for me to be masters Probably the Kentucky Derby You were gonna want you gonna take a Kentucky Derby? Yeah And then probably Kentucky Derby's great don't give me your own but I'm definitely not I love the World Series the World Series is so fun to watch Do you get seven games? I'm sure the watches championship game in the scenario It's the series it's the whole series and if you're doing the final four for March Madness the whole Stanley Cup is all seven games Okay, yeah, you're right. Yeah, I would say I would count all seven games for the they're not a Stanley Cup Well Stanley Cup two but the World Series Yeah, I would count it then I agree with you that I would pick probably the World Series then do I do it better just because I think it's better Honestly, the Superbowl I think it's been a joke past few years even the commercials everyone loves has been a joke I'm not taking the Superbowl you there. No, I'm not taking the Superbowl out of those are those choices I probably choose NCAA championship over the Superbowl so me too I would So Hmm, I'm definitely taking the my I'm taking the final four. I'll get fucked. That's my like no more Spanish, you know, the final four is like my number one, but then the masters would be like there and then I'm probably taking I do like watching baseball the World Series so NBA would be kind of either NBA or baseball. Yeah, I'm not taking Superbowl So Superbowl Stanley Cup. Yeah, I was gonna watch enough hockey for the Stanley Cup I would The three I'd probably pick would be the Stanley Cup Series Uh Hmm, I don't think the Superbowl be in my top three. No just because it's Like I would pick the Wild card and division around before the Superbowl Yeah, if you pick now you play offs like the playoff series and the act probably pick at it That's why I think I like the question is better like do you what what a whole event do you get to end up playoffs NCAA March madness Playoffs than I would say NFL would have to be in top three for sure. I would take the Kentucky Derby I was just one of that. Yeah, the Derby So yeah, you know, I would put probably NCAA college football and playoffs over Kentucky Derby Even silver March madness. I would take the college. I would go College will apply us for sure. We'll be in mind I would do Stanley Cup Series um You say the soccer No, not the soccer. I mean you could put the world cup. That wasn't a world cup. You could put it in there. I would try to say world cups Stanley Series and then Uh I don't play off if you're just talking to champion strip. I would If you're talking the full playoffs then it'd be on a flow. Yeah, we're saying playoff. You get to say before just talking champion strip series then I would say NBA then would be my third Yeah But NFL playoffs The full thing wild card to play out, you know, Super Bowl would be in the top three then Stanley and world cup series for soccer World Cup was pretty fun. I like watching that Is that coming up here soon? It's not this year right? No next year isn't it? I think it's next year I love that I was who watch are they doing it? No, they're not doing it in America LA wasn't it the next one? Oh, that's the Olympics The Olympics is an LA next off. That's what it is That's gonna be sick. I'd be cool to go to It'll be so the world cup will be So it's every four years It's gonna be co-hosted with United States Canada, Mexico Oh, shit, so it'll be America That is sick They're probably gonna be in like Miami though or like those other where they have a lot of soccer down that California by Florida Four films Have you wild at four fields United center Chicago They would have it in the baseball stadium or not the baseball in the hockey and Basketball towards fields the same one they have inside them He used to four fields Four fields Yeah football fields football stadium Yeah, it's not a baseball and basketball stadium Have it out there. I'd be like trying to have a soccer event in fucking little seasons arena. Oh, yeah It's not gonna happen You can do it in like maybe I don't know if you can do it in like Tiger stadium America park so it looks looks like they're picking 16 different host cities Trust That's combination of all three countries Obviously like Mexico City will be one for sure.
