Alright welcome come back, The Trilateral podcast episode one O one, I guess you could say it's season two. You know, start of season two. What's up my brothers? How's it going? It's going. All right, we had some excitement in F1 this week, crazy excitement. We haven't been in a lot of time. Two championships wrap up and then an amazing race. Yeah, Barcelona Grand Prix. A few drivers didn't get to participate in all the practices. We had the reserves or upcoming racers potentially swap some seats. So not every racer got to participate in every practice. Practice one, we had Russell, P.I. Estri LeClair as you top three. Speedwise, the practice two, it was Lando, Russell, P.I. Estri, you top three. And then practice three was Russell, P.I. Estri LeClair. So pretty, pretty even grouping for the most part of the main folks. And then going into qualifying Saturday, it got a little mixed up a little bit. Russell ended up taking your poll followed by Lewis. Lewis really wasn't up there until about practice three, they didn't partake in practice one. Kimi, the same thing, he did not partake in practice one, and didn't really do a whole lot throughout practice. So your front row is George Lewis, followed by Kimi, Lando, Max, Isaac, P.I. Estri, Lawson, Nico and E.Clair were your top 10 starting grid. So that three Lewis fans that was quite exciting. I was pretty pumped for it. We've seen him win. It was four, it was a three, no, damn, not prepared. Had to be like three years, right? His last podium was in 24, and it was the, yeah, it's actually when I think it was the British Grand Prix that year. Gotcha. But yeah, it had been a hot minute. It also had been quite a drought for already also. Race overall, I think it went pretty well. Russell had a good good off the line, Sturr. Lewis was right there with him. I want to say, Kimi dropped back a little bit. I know Isaac dropped back significantly. He did not stick with Max there. And it was probably, oh man, trying to think of lab. Because Lewis ended up pitting first out of your main grouping there. Which, unfortunately before I had got a chance to watch, I didn't watch it live. I did get a spoiler through my lovely phone alerts. So going back and watching it that night, I just, if you know, not knowing the end of the result, I would have been, what the hell are we doing? Yeah, pitting so early. Because Hamilton started with, soffs, not too many dead. And then he switched to a blue-tless hards. And then we ended up having, we did have a virtual safety car which allowed him to get, and by that point, he had already taken the lead. Undercutting there, which was awesome. It almost seemed effortlessly for the most part. The VFC allowed him to get it back in and still maintain position, which was amazing. Kimi and Russell still had a little bit of, they did a little bit of battling there, but by that point, Hamilton was in the free air and was ripping. By the end of the race, he ended up taking it by over 19 seconds, which is just wild. Awesome. And then, that's right, that is right. Yeah, Kimi ended up, so first it was a lot on zoo. Stroll, both tests, Nico had already gone out. For Nando, it kind of caused the VFC, Albin went out, but he did end up coming back in. Ali had to retire and then Kimi had issues. And then even we'll clear ended up not finishing. As far as we did have only five cars on the leading line up. What's new? And then it ended up actually ended up being an all-brit podium. Lewis, your winner, followed by Russell and Norris. Another big history factor, I think it had been, that was 1973 the last time I had an all-british podium. And that was when, for me, they wanted to race that walking, walking glens in New York. Some big names. Yeah, it's been 50, oh 1968. It had been 58 years since the last all-british podium. And back then, it was Jackie Stewart-Werr, Graham Hill, and John Certies. Why Lewis's 106th win? First with Ferrari. He got driver of the day, he had the fastest lap. It wasn't a grand slam, but it was a very significant win, big win for him. Just the vibe was different during the race. You know, sometimes it's hard to read the emotion through the Italian engineers, but this guy was like pumped up. Tell, I think it was 20, 30 laps for the race ended. Like you could tell the excitement and how he was talking to Hamilton and so the vibe was just different in general. Maybe it's the start of something here. We'll have to... Very well, very well could be. To quote Toto, he's like, "Would rather not be in a title fight with Lewis." When Lewis smells blood, he goes. Yeah, but he got a lot of work to do before you can even consider his name. That's title, like right now for that. If Kimmy has two more races like that and Lewis is in the top two, he could easily... Really? Snatch up though. With all those wins. They wouldn't see. No, Lewis has been up there. Yeah, I guess you're right. Yeah, that's wild. You know, he's only... 40, 41 points behind. I mean, they gotta be telling him, like that. They gotta be telling him. Kimmy, weren't not scoring at any points in the next races and let's say Hamilton wins. He's got... he's ahead. Or at least tied at the very least. Yeah, they're saying he's got to be telling him, man. You gotta put pressure down, man. Nobody wins is he has. Five. Six. Kimmy? Yeah, five or six this year, I thought, right? Yeah, five in a row. So... Yeah, man. That's crazy, man. But, you know, Lewis was on podium with him. What? Probably those? Yeah. So... Man, that... That'd be so sick to see Lewis win. Yeah, um... I was great, right? Obviously, the driver I follow is not not a series of team, but the driver I... I would like to see it. It was on top. It was amazing. Their strategy was... flawless. You know, outside of the clear, not finishing, which was a bummer, but... clean race for him. Yeah, they did bring a number of upgrades. One significant one was they had changed their... wheel, um, has different vending in it, which allows for better cooling, a lot better traction in the long haul, better tire life. Um... And then I believe... it's not 100%, but they do have a power unit upgrade. That is, um... possibly going to debut at the next race. Nice. Uh... If they get the power unit unlocked, I... don't... many are gonna be able to compete with them, because that's their only weakness right now, because they just have unlocked all their power. They don't have that... top end speed, you know, this weekend it kind of looked like maybe they gained a little bit in that realm. Um... But they're... cornering and their aerodynamics is where Ferrari shined pretty much all year. Um... So if they can tweak the power unit, get it where they want it. Um... We could be in for a real good... title fight here. Um... Yeah, there was... there's a few other stats I can't... I'm gonna just escape them here right now with that win. Oh... What was it? Damn it. I can't remember. Um... But looking ahead next race is on the 28th of June. We do not have a race this coming weekend, but that'll be in Austria. Would be the... Red Bull Ring. Um... That's usually a pretty fun one. A fast circuit. So... A little hopefully a little bit because uh... with this one too. Nah, I sure hope. Um... Overall team standing, this Mercedes still leading 262 points, Ferrari 190. McLaren 141. Uh... Drivers 156 to Kimmy 115. Lewis 106 Russell. Um... We still have four drivers that have not scored points, unfortunately. Uh... Uh, the weird kind of a weird... I know Niko was a DNF, it was a weird DNF. But he like came into the pits as they go, pit stop, no biggie. But then the car doesn't move. Um... It was released after the race. Um... I don't recall what car was ahead of him. He had it him at the time, but they went through a turn. That car kicked up some gravel. That gravel came back. And... hit his car while that gravel hit just right in the right possible spot and it caused the like the kill switch to activate. Damn. Yeah. What the hell? Sensitive as far? Yeah. It just hit it just right. Somewhere up on that upper cowl part, there was a post I saw where they had slowed it down and you could see it just kind of strike the car just in the right spot to where it caused a critical fail safe and... Yeah.[laughs] Um... I think that's it for a moment. Amazing race. Looks like we got the old Lewis possibly back, so... That energy was different, but for sure. There's no doubt in that. Fuck. Moving on. All right. Really quickly, there's wrap-ups in the NBA and the NHL. On the NHL. Carolina. One stand the cup. Oh. Yeah, I'm setting it up. Biggest thing to do it, but... I think we could run this back, but I think... Well, we all picked two of us in a win and a stand the cup. I picked Carolina to win it all. I think I had them in a championship, but I still had Pittsburgh in there. So obviously that was not right. Yeah, mine weren't even both mine guy though, and unfortunately, so... I think mine was Pittsburgh and Carolina. And Sabers and Edmonton. I want to say, didn't I have the Knights? In Carolina? In my thoughts. I know for a fact I had Carolina, and then I had them... I don't know, maybe I didn't have the Knights. Maybe I had to have the Knights. But, um... Yep, Knights did not do it. I think they lost two of them at home. That was a good series. Don't get me wrong. Those first... Honestly, the first three games were like amazing. Oh, hi. Those were... Yeah, they were. And Carolina just took over? Yeah. Just took over. Pretty dominantly, honestly. Yeah, um... Yeah, I was a little... I was a little disappointing that last game was like, hm, 3-0, damn. Okay. See you at the deal? They were a good team. Oh, they've been a good team for a while, that also makes sense that they got their......one cup right now. I don't know. Did you guys know that the Knights coach... He'd only been with them since like six games before the playoffs? What happened before? They fired their head coach and he came in as interim. Yeah. I did not realize that because I saw that he wasn't going to coach and then I looked into it a little more. I was like, yeah, he came in six games before the playoffs and kind of turned him around. Yeah. You know, I think they're destined to get into the playoffs but just sound like it was a bad situation. That's why they ended up cutting ways with the other guy. But, um... Yeah, they've already announced their new coach someone within the organization. But, um... Yeah, he's looking to... Obviously he wants to coach next year so we'll see who picks him up. Yeah. I mean, he proved it especially in the crunch time, especially against some of the teams. Oilers, fucking the dogs, they had to beat the avalanche, probably the best team in the West. So... Goods. So to get this far, good pass, almost take it to a game seven, that's a pretty name good. Oh. That was a good series overall though. About there. All right, so that was hockey. All the basketball, the New York Dicks ended up winning the finals. Um... Did it in pretty good fashion? Um... What did it in five games? Yeah, we guys watched that last game. What? I did not. You what? No. Yeah. You did? Yeah. Yeah, I didn't watch it in this entirety. I saw it when it first came on and then kind of saw the score and then I... I think I turned it back on probably... That last quarter. No, um, you know, they're still down, but... Yep. That was a good game. Um... I can't remember. Took the MNVP now. Yeah, I'm Bronson. Yeah, he was on fire, man. Oh, he's great. He's very good. He was on... He was on fire, all serious. But, yeah, it was a good game. They just... They outplayed them. And they, uh... They had a pretty decent lead. I think they led most of the damn game, honestly. If I recall properly. I heard about it. There's a lot of times where the spurs in multiple games led most of the game. That fourth quarter, man. It's just deadly for them. I see, uh, can turn it on when it matters most. Yeah, I was, uh... I had followed the series, but the last game was part of the one I watched the most of... Pretty good. I did good. I'm glad to see the next one, someone different. No. 53-year drought ended. You know, they, uh... What was it? The last time they wanted... That, how that went... Last time they wanted, Rich Stadium opened that year, which was Buffalo's old stadium. Wow, that was a lot. They went at Rich's year with the new stadium opening. Yeah. That's wild. Pretty crazy. Good for the next. Um, that rounds up the, uh... NBA playoffs going into that. Now we're just looking forward to the football. I don't know if you guys should... You've had a football or anything, I've even happened. I've not paid attention to it, so... Plasma in too much. Not that I've seen at least. Got you. But... All right, well... Just, uh, going into the summer, we got really just golf. We got F1, baseball. If you're into that... Yeah, go, baseball. Okay. Just, just wait, you got to... Football. The round, the round ball. Football, and then the pickskim football coming up soon. Just wait in order for the football. All right. Have you guys watched any of the soccer games or... Oh, yeah, actually, I've ever watched a lot of World Cup. This has been fun to watch. I don't really watch soccer, but... World Cup. I haven't watched too many, but, um, Messy got his, uh, pat trick. Yeah, that was a great game. That game was crazy. See, they're all kind of bitching about the heat over here. Really? Yeah. Which is how they're not bitching about the tournament. MetLife Stadium. Crazy work. I would like to go like one of those games. It would be kind of cool. Well, I mean, all the teams I would... Fruitford would be probably like... USA obviously, and then like, I don't know, I would cheer on like... The Netherlands. The most fan-based, man, they get into a... Well, the Netherlands, they pop, they're... They're just a big ass party. I like it. There's this one where they had these big ass drums in it, and they were like rowing. I don't know if it was... I think maybe Norway? Norway is pretty sick too. They got that young guy on their team. He's really good. Norway is their first time in the world cup this century. So since they like... Like last time they went, it was like 98. So... Wow. I didn't realize that like... I don't know, I don't know what... Like how you qualify for this shit, but it was like... I look at some of these teams like last five games and they've like lost everything. So like... I don't know what the hell... Qualifies these teams for... Yeah, I don't understand it much at that level. There's a lot more of to it. I don't get how they... But... Are they straight to groups? Or are they... I do like how... Which do like how they do the group though. Like how the group play, and then like the top three. Like if you make like fair, then it's the top eight at the top three. Or the three teams or whatever it is. It's pretty sick. So it's a cool way to start the bracket. Oh yeah, it looks like there's one out right now. Go USA. Go USA. I think I got anything else for now. I'm gonna try about wraps it up. Bottom ball, bottom being. Episode... 101. There's 101. In the face of us. Where was that? See ya. Later.
