Episode 43: Samantha's Shares Vera's Story and The Journey to Bringing Her Son Home

Season 2 Episode 22

In this special episode, I sit down with Samantha, a mom who shares her powerful journey through love, loss, and healing. Samantha opens up about the heartbreaking moment where she learned that her baby girl, Vera, had medical conditions that were not compatible with life. We talk about the heartbreak of holding our babies in the hospital room and trying to make as many memories as possible with them. She shares how signs like butterflies and bunnies bring her comfort and help her feel Vera’s presence even now.

We discuss her experience navigating pregnancy after loss, including learning she was pregnant with twins, and the sorrow of later discovering that one did not survive. Vera leaned on counselling, affirmations, and community support to keep going after experiencing so much heartache. One thing that really stood out is her reminder that moving forward is not moving on.

Samantha also shares how she created a beautiful legacy in Vera’s honour, including a binder full of the meaningful ways she gives back to the bereavement community, like donating to the hospital that cared for them.

We wrap up with an honest conversation about postpartum, the grief, the playbacks, the waves of emotion, and her best advice: find someone you trust who can hold space for all of it.

Samantha’s love for all of her babies shines through in every part of this conversation. You can connect with her and order your very own set of affirmation cards for pregnancy after loss here.

We also talk about psychic medium, Sharon in this episode. You can hear her episode here.
